Hu's Garden Houston Reviews
The lady whom served my wife and I has the best customer service. 10/10 will be back. The food was fresh and delicious the egg drop soup was perfect.
Stopped by for some take out first time, had the general tsos tofu. Rangoons and eggrolls, was soooo good. Will definitely be back. Staff was very polite.
Ordered delivery for lunch as a last minute decision. Was not disappointed. Food was fresh, delicious and portion size was generous for the shrimp fried rice. Delivery was quick and gentleman that delivered the food was very kind. Will definitely order again and highly recommend.
First time to eat here but the food was excellent, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. Even on Sunday they offered a lunch menu. I will definitely be eating there again soon.
Absolutely amazing food. I’ve been ordering here for years and everything I’ve had has been delicious. Personal favorites are the Kung pow chicken, Diet chicken and hot and sour soup. Anytime I’ve ever had an issue with my order they have fixed it immediately and with grace. Hu’s Garden is my favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant.
Amazing food! Staff very nice and keeps place clean. Sometimes we dine in and some we take out its easy to order and you get the food fast. Really good portions too.
It's hard to find a Chinese restaurant open for sit down dining, Hu's was so we did. The General Tso's off the lunch special was 4 stars, the veggie egg roll was 4 stars....could've been a little hotter, the wonton soup was 5 stars...we loved the broth and the slightly al dente wonton. The beef and mushroom on the lunch menu was 4 stars, it had two kinds of mushrooms, one kind was tasty and the other was chewy. They didn't have their A.C. on, don't know why, but it was kind of warm. We enjoyed our second visit to Hu's. My wife and I had dinner. We shared and carried leftovers home of General Tso's Chicken with jalapenos and broccolli, it had great flavor with a hint of spicy heat. We shared a large bowl of wonton soup. They even have miso soup which my wife may get next time. We shared a few appetizers like pork fried eggrolls, fried crab rangoon. We'll be back.
Good restaurant! I feel like I walked into China! Very happy and polite service and really fast when you order to go. If you tell them you have health needs they listen. They do not cook with MSG, so no need to worry. Family friendly and plenty of seating and parking spaces. Good prices and big menu and large portions! Remember to request your chopsticks! Shi-shi and enjoy!
First time here and I was not disappointed at all. Nice, quiet, amazing service and extremely clean and I mean really clean from the chairs to the tables and even the restroom. I had the chicken with jalapeños and broccoli, brown rice with vegetable egg roll and the wonton soup all was great to taste.
I had a great experience here and will definitely be coming back. The service was very friendly from the moment I walked in, and the staff made me feel welcome right away. The lunch portion was surprisingly large, especially considering the small price. For only $9.99, the meal included soup, fried rice, and an egg roll, which felt like an incredible deal. Everything tasted fresh and clean, not overly greasy or heavy. I really appreciated that I didn’t feel overly full or extra sleepy afterward like I sometimes do with other lunch spots. The flavors were balanced, and the food felt well prepared. On top of that, there was plenty of parking available, which made the visit even more convenient. Overall, this is a great spot if you’re looking for good value, generous portions, and friendly service without breaking the bank. Highly recommend for a quick and satisfying lunch.
The crab Rangoon was the best dish, very tasty. The General Tso's was made with jalapeno's instead of Chinese red peppers, so that took some getting used to. The fried rice didn't have very much soy sauce either, it was disappointing.
This is very standard food. Lacking in taste, but what taste they do have is good enough and portions and prices are excellent. Our server was awesome, attentive and quick. Food came out quickly too. If I was in the mood for very standard Chinese food with good and quick service, I would come here. I had the vegetarian General Tso's chicken in the lunch special menu which came with fried rice, egg roll, and egg drop soup.
A pretty good lunch. I was the only one eating in, but folks were constantly picking up orders to go. Seemed like offices, so they must be popular with business. The place does need some fixing up, a bit worn, but clean. Ordered the Sesame Chicken, egg-drop, and spring roll. Sesame chicken is my go to when trying a new place. It was really good. The rice actually had flavor. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. I would give 5 stars, but the restaurant needs some renovations. Give them a try.
