Urban Vegan Kitchen Hudson Yards Reviews
we had the best dinner ever here! the food was amazing!! so flavourful it was so beautiful in there, amazing art and vibes. amazing service everyone was so nice. very gay friendly.
A gem of a place! We came in on a busy Sunday without a reservation and we're kindly seated at the bar because they were so busy (for good reason). Make a reservation! Highly recommend their breakfast sandwich, the loaded broccoli, and their mushroom cacao drink!
This is my partner and I's favorite place to eat in new york city. Not only is their fully cruelty free menu amazing and delicious, the service is phenomenal. Our server remembered us when we came the second time, even though it had been a couple months since we came. They have the best BLT that I have ever eaten in my life! and on top of that they have wonderful drinks and n/a drinks. The vibe and the patrons here are also the best. We love UVK
Had an amazing vegan BLT sandwich. It was so so yummy - I think of it fondly. My partner had the breakfast platter with scramble and potatoes and the tempeh bacon. The tempeh bacon is so good, homemade bread is delicious and potatoes were very well seasoned. Overall loved it, wish I had more time to go again but short visit!
Delicious, hip vegan eatery in the heart of Chelsea. The portions are large, the prices are fair. Everything is 100% vegan. The menu has a broad range of options and they always offer interesting specials. They also have a full mocktail menu if you aren’t into alcohol. Definitely a great place to stop by if you’re in the area!
I thoroughly enjoyed the decor and atmosphere here. My friend and I were immediately welcomed upon entry and directed to the seating area by the host. Our waitress went over the soup of the day with us and answered any questions we had about the menu. My friend and I opted for shareable dishes which was enough to split/share between the two of us. The food was absolutely delicious. We wanted something light but nourishing and UVK did just that !. The food presentation was good as were the beverages we had. 10/10
Good food, healthy, all Vegan, good service, reasonable prices, enjoyed the music. Able to have a conversation. I got a gluten free burrito bowl, filling and supportive high protein meal. We had a cauliflower appetizer with dipping sauce. Also, potato leek soup was enjoyed. We were so full, we could not consider dessert. See the pictures and video. Can I get a ❤️?
Friendly and welcoming service. Absolutely delicious food and chill vibe. My top two faves was the Korean bbq and the choke pizza. Also you won’t regret saving a little room for dessert! We went for a plain chocolate tahini chip and vanilla ice cream and it was Devine! Also, reasonable prices. We’ll be back!
During my visit, I experience good customer service; employees seek to be helpful and are kind. The Luca Brasi Oshi Salmon Pasta is a filling and tasty meal; the fettuccine alfredo portion is heavy, and carries, nearly absorbs, the lemon and salmon flavor to form a bitter-sour melange to a smooth-softer-fromage-plain-Greek-yogurt-like mixture which tapers with black pepper; and the Oshi Salmon offers a delicate independent flavor, quite savory, saltless-like, dryer than moist, though of fine flavor, like an actual salmon after being on the fire long enough with water treatment, off the fire receives a proper garlic-olive oil treatment. There is a mini-bar seating area as well as a living room-esque seating area. The establishment's interior decorating is eclectic between photography, wall art, and other decor. Chill Vibes. The establishment accepts different forms of payment.
Review: Urban Food Kitchen NYC – A Plant-Based Revelation (and a Sauce Lover’s Dream) You know you’ve had a memorable meal when you’re still thinking about the textures, the temperatures, and—let’s be honest—the sauces days later. That’s exactly what happened after our visit to Urban Food Kitchen in New York City. This place is a gem, mixing casual cool with culinary creativity in all the right ways. I went for the plant-based salmon ranch salad—and let me tell you, this dish didn’t come to play. It was a brilliant contrast of hot and cold: roasted onions and peppers added a savory warmth, while the crisp kale kept things fresh and grounded. Then came the plant-based salmon… I don’t know what sorcery was involved in crafting it, but it was mind-blowingly good. The texture was spot-on, the flavor deep and smoky, and it held its own like a proper centerpiece. But let’s talk ranch. The housemade ranch dressing deserves its own spotlight. Creamy, herby, and just tangy enough, it was so good I asked for extra—then shamelessly dipped my “salmon” into it like it was a high-end nugget. No regrets. My partner had the steak sandwich, which was equally impressive, but the real MVP on his plate? That housemade barbecue sauce. Sweet, smoky, and finger-licking addictive, it elevated every bite of the sandwich—and yes, we both dunked the onion rings in it like we were at a private sauce tasting. Service? Stellar. Friendly, fast, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food (which, let’s be honest, always makes the experience better). In a city overflowing with trendy food spots, Urban Food Kitchen stands out by offering dishes that are both innovative and soul-satisfying. Whether you're plant-based, steak-loving, or just someone who appreciates a well-balanced bite and a killer sauce, this place has you covered. We’ll definitely be back.
We popped in for a quick brunch while nearby and were very impressed with what's on offer! The venue has a lot of personality and it was great to see the owner wasn't above helping out – providing service alongside one of his staff members and making polite conversation. We went with: -The Get Right Within Burrito (with added tempeh bacon) -Luca Brasi Oshi Salmon Pasta We were extremely impressed with the quality of the food for the price. If you haven't had Oshi Salmon before, it's by far the best salmon alternative we've found in terms of realistic flavour and texture. Genuinely mind-blowing. We'll certainly be making a point of returning if we come back to NYC, and we definitely recommend making this place a must-visit on your list!
The energy the flavor the love was all there 💯 came into NYC for a vacation and this place was the cherry on top. Wing party with sauce(s) 🔥 Mac and cheese 🤤 🔥 and the Mississippi mud pie for dessert?! come on man don’t play yourself if you come to hell kitchens area this is not one to mess around on make it in and see for yourself! much love from Tampa FL- DJ ❤️💛💚
This was a lovely space to walk into my first night back in the city. An absolute treat to eat in a 100% vegan restaurant with almost every ingredient created in house. The creamy cheesy sauce on the broccoli was so scrumptious!!! I highly recommend! The mud pie with vanilla ice cream was absolutely yummy. Very filling and satisfying. Everyone was warm, kind, friendly, and gracious. It was a very welcoming experience and I hope to return soon. Lots more items to try!!
Everything about this place was a 10/10 for me! The restaurant is located in a pretty groovy spot, there are parks around and other things to do before or after eating here. The staff were amazing, they all had great personalities, energy, and were on top of everything. The food here was my favorite part. The French toast was amazing and I loved the choice of toppings, the shiitake bacon was new for me they were surprisingly small but also very good—almost like bacon bits. I had a side of the tofu scramble and it was absolutely delicious and seasoned so well! Might I add the cushions on the benches were so soft and comfortable :)
When I tell you, this is the best sandwich I've had in a very very, very long time. Oh my goodness it was perfect. This was one of the specials they were doing for the day. They need to put this on t…

Nice service, vegan food, tasty and hearty. Accommodated my gluten-free needs easily (gf bread) and kindly. Fun vibe!
Would definitely eat here again. Service and atmosphere 5/5. We had the kbbq wings and BLT. Kbbq wings were tasty, but more of a straight bbq sauce flavor than a gochujang flavor. Wish the BTL had …

I tried their crispy Chick‑un & Waffles and creamy mac & cheese--and they absolutely nailed it. The vibe was lively with cool art, friendly staff, and even a DJ spinning tracks. prices are a bit hi…
I ordered the salmon pasta to go. Interesting enough, the pasta actually tasted better when it was room temp-cold. Hot-warm, the sauce was a little weird. Not bad, but different. The salmon was amazing. I had to double back to make sure it wasn't real. For the size of the takeout container though, definitely not worth 30$ though. Either increase take out portion or decrease the price. I'm sure most of the price is coming from this fancy vegan salmon, but 30$, while affordable for me, is kinda insane given the size of the container.
Was in NY to catch a play at the Shed so walked over here afterwards for lunch. The interior decorations definitely make you feel like you are in an urban city. The music is also adds to the ambiance. They have a good sized menu with many sub menus that show gluten free items, soy free items and garlic and onion free items. I ordered the gf coconut shrimp, the mushroom asada and the respect your elders mocktail. The food was tasty. The konjac shrimp are hard to find so generally when I see them on a menu I order them. I did hesitate a bit as I’m not a fan of coconut. Luckily for me I didn’t taste any coconut on the shrimp. The mushroom asada, while delicious, it didn’t give me the flavors of steak. I think a portobello would have done a better job. I ate it all though. Just mentioning in terms of what your taste buds should expect. The respect your elders mocktail was yummy.
The vibe inside was artsy, welcoming, and fun. We were greeted upon entering. Immediate pluses!! Food was delicious. I ordered the Golden Era Chick-un & Waffles and my partner ordered something I forgot the name of, but it was a faux salmon sandwich I believe. I also ordered a drink which may have been the espresso yourself. Either way, we enjoyed our food and drinks. Would definitely visit again! *Another thing I appreciated was the attention to allergies. We were asked about allergies when we were placing our orders.
Excellent vegan offerings. Good service and interesting decor. Had the Korean wings which were very good and the fish sandwich both were vegan varieties and excellent.
This spot is hands down THE best ole skool ambiance in NYC. The pictures and video do no justice. Absolute vegan that leans toward mushroom base. I have the empanadas, wings, and fries. The bar off…
ordered a breakfast sandwich. well it was okay for $16. actually no it wasnt. i get that its hard to make a vegan egg. but slap'n tofu & calling it a day with avocado that falls off wasn't really…
This place features a unique style atmosphere. Sort of gothic/punk vibe. The service is not very good. One waiter was very polite and professional, while the other waiter was not nice/. She wouldn’t let us sit in the party of 4 table because we were a party of 2 and wanted the extra space, even though we were the first customers in and the restaurant was empty. Other than that, the food was below average. I ordered french toast and my uncle ordered the burrito, which he did not enjoy. The music was a little on the loud side. Some things on the positive side were that the 2nd waiter was very polite and professional.
