Usually the best food in Ithaca, but not the most consistent. Nice plating. Would strongly recommend getting the Ahi tuna steak special if they have it - it's their best dish.

This was a treat to my and my wife by her Uncle, and WHAT A TREAT! He said we were going somewhere fancy, so I expected Olive Garden. Unstead, I was treated to TRUE Fine Dining. We were treated with rolls while we ordered and received our appetizers. We had Candied Brussel Sprouts and Pork Belly for an appetizer. They then cleared our dishes (used or not) and came back with new forks, knives, and our salads. After we finished, they cleared all our dishes again then brought new silverware for our main dish. I had a PERFECTLY cooked T-Bone steak that was like 1.5" thick. IT WAS AMAZING! They cleared our dishes again and we all shared a giant slice of carrot cake, which they brought individual plates so we could serve ourselves from the singular giant piece. They then cleared all that and we were able to sit with drinks and chat. When were were all done, the unfinished food they had boxed in individual boxes for us (which are biodegradable). I felt like royalty! Our server, Nate, was amazing. He checked in just enough and kept his eye open for when I signaled. He was quick and attentive. It is an expensive place but we'll worth it. Everyone should experience it at least once, more if you can.

Chef Larounis is celebrating 30 years at The Heights, but this was our first time at The Heights, where the meal was the highlight of our trip. James is a truly creative chef: our entrees combined sweet and savory elements, and myriad textures, in the great tradition of French cuisine (with a nod to the older Ottoman). Larounis also incorporates the element of surprise in every offering: our excellent desert--his take on "lava cake/chocolate souffle"--was accompanied by a pear/date tart topped with maple syrup ice cream. Thank you for a glorious evening!

I wish I could leave a 6 star review for this place! 10/10. The food was immaculate, the service was absolutely unreal and the vibe was perfect! From the owner to my server Kirk, everyone treated us like celebrities literally. The food was out of the world and I thought the prices were very fair for the quality of the food. I recommend this place with my eyes closed and I’ll be coming back!! I’ll attach a couple photos but keep in mind my husband and I shared everything and they served us the Duck shared in two different plates so we didn’t have to make a mess doing sharing! I took videos a of the food so it won’t let me share them

Outstanding in every way. The food is absolutely delicious, and the best wait staff I’ve experienced in many years of world travel. My wife is a vegetarian and she said her Coconut tofu curry meal was fabulous. Way better than Moosewood’s food. My beef tenderloin was also just exceptional. So many options and specials available to please everyone. This restaurant should rate #1 for a 100 mile radius.

Possibly my favorite restaurant in Ithaca, the Heights always manages to impress me with its innovation, quality, and consistency every time I have had the joy of eating here. The service is always fantastic, and the food choices are always delicious and interesting. Easily my favorite part of the dining experience here is the appetizer selection. There are times when I go with people and we just order only appetizers because they are so outstanding. My favorite is the Portuguese Octopus, and it is among my favorite appetizers anywhere. Other extremely notable mentions are the Short Rib board and the pork cheeks, but honestly, you cannot go wrong with anything they have to offer in my experience. The entrees are outstanding as well, and I love seeing what the specials have to offer, but everything from the steaks to the burger are superb. The desserts maintain the strength of quality, with one of my creme brûlée conessieur friends saying the creme brûlée is among the best he has ever had. The lava cake soufle is also well worth a try, and it always has a fun twist. Overall, the Heights is a fine dining establishment that is not scared to try new things and innovate with its dishes, and it is always a pleasure to experience their exceptional food.

A true culinary gem! The Heights never disappoints. Every meal here feels like an experience. The dishes are creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. What really sets it apart is how dynamic the menu is. You can come back again and again and always find something new and exciting to try. It’s never boring, and yet somehow always consistent in quality. From the cocktails to the desserts, everything feels thoughtfully curated. If you’re in Ithaca and want a memorable dining experience, this is the place.

Great restaurant in Ithaca. That chocolate soufflé is crazy good. Steaks were lacking salt in some areas. Not super tender either for the price you pay for. Still good quality food regardless.

The Heights is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Ithaca. The food was exceptional—every bite was perfectly executed. I ordered the seabass special, and it was outstanding: delicate, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My daughter had the mahimahi, also a special of the day, and it was just as impressive. Both dishes were fresh and expertly prepared. The service was professional and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed. If you’re looking for a truly memorable meal in Ithaca, The Heights should be at the top of your list.

The food was tremendous. Delicious leek soup and the salmon was perfect. The burger was massive; delicious aioli. The chocolate souffle had an orange earl grey ice cream that we loved. The best part was our server, Patrick. His passion for the food, great recommendations, and attentive service was top notch.

We dined here on a Tuesday evening. The service was great! We ordered all specials. The Chilean sea bass with gnocchi and the bone in ribeye with roasted potatoes. The appetizer was a shrimp and crab fritter that we shared. Everything we had was great. The ribeye was medium rare as I had requested. Everything beautifully arranged and plated.

Excellent full portions of food. Could not go wrong with the specials. Servers were helpful and friendly. It was slow so the sommelier was available to make good recommendations on the wine to go with our meal.

The Heights serve excellent seafood. They also have an extensive wine selection. We had the salmon collar with fried clams (the special for the day) and halibut (the fish of the day) for dinner. They didn't disappoint. There were chunky amounts of very fresh salmon in the salmon collar. The halibut was also very good. The dessert recommendations of Lava Chocolate Soufflé and the Heights Signature Chocolate Cake by Victoria, our very attentive and friendly server, hit all the right spots.

My husband and I have gone to the heights several times and it is our absolute favorite restaurant!! We always come back excited to try one of the specials for the night, they are phenomenal!! The entree and its accompaniments are cooked perfectly and thoughtfully orchestrated to be the best taste profile and pairings for the dish. We love how much love and thought is put into the food, it really shows! All staff are so kind and helpful as well as the chef who was so nice and personable to converse with us one evening. The price is worth everything you get including the amazing bread and a choice of salad with the already incredible entrees. Not to mention the portions are very generous and we always leave stuffed and happy!!

The best fine dining experience in Ithaca which I would do once in my life during my study. Definitely very pricey but worth the dishes they offer to you. The classic Caesar salad was fresh and scrumptious, I ordered Seafood Bouillabaisse & Gnocchi which was creamy with flavorful toppings to my liking, and my buddies got steak special. The portion was huge for my preference but I managed to (almost I think) finished them out. Overall, amazing experience :)

I’m not big on steak or seafood, which The Heights always offers in abundance with their specials… but the vegetarian entree (though usually only one) is always very good. Great presentation for whatever you order. Cocktails are always spot on and service too. Nice place to come for a special occasion. Lava cake is delish, and chocolate is usually not my first choice for a dessert… but it is here.

Pleasant dining experience, the Octopus and Cauliflower appetizers were excellent. The entrees were fine but were not on the same level as the apps. The lava cake served its purpose. The dining room was very comfortable and service was on point

I had dinner at The Heights recently and it was excellent. I started with mussels which were perfectly cooked and then had a steak that was flavorful, tender, and well prepared. My server was knowledgeable, friendly, and checked in a few times during the meal which made me feel taken care of without being interrupted. The menu had a lot of dishes that looked good and I could have easily chosen something else and been just as happy. The crowd leaned more toward upscale and older which isn’t usually my scene but it matched the atmosphere of the place. I enjoyed my meal and would absolutely go back even if it’s not the kind of restaurant I’d make a regular stop.

This place is cute and the food was pretty good. Patrick was absolutely the best server. Would come back purely on customer service alone. For apps we ordered: -Sicilian Cauliflower -Pork belly Both were really good. The sauce with the pork belly was outstanding. Loved the pickles accoutrements as well For dinner we had: -the mahi mahi special of the day -the boneless tenderloin special -the bone-in tenderloin special All items were really good. My steak was HUGE. Each entree comes with soup or salad and the salmon minestrone was delicious. For dessert we had: The lava cake souffle This was delicious and should be ordered halfway thru your meal.

The food looked decent but the taste was just mediocre. We had one appetizer, two main dishes, and one dessert. The only dish that amazed me was the dessert souffle. The main dish I ordered was the skirt steak. I ordered medium rare but when it served it seemed more like well-done. The seasoning was ok though. The other main dish my friend ordered was the ravioli. It was way better than the steak. The place was kind of crowded so it could be a bit noisy. The price is rather high considering the quality of the dishes.

I got the cranberry and brie pizza. The flavors clashed tremendously. The acidity of the tomato did not match the sweetness of the cranberry (craisens). I felt like I got more brocolli stem then brocolli head. The "crust" was very oily and salty. The "dough" seemed like it was made from a pita bread that everything was tossed on so it was very brittle and there was no structure to the pizza. I also don't think there was any balsamic drizzle added to my pizza. Also, the restaurant should rethink how they plate the pizza. The odd shapes of the slices gave me flashbacks of the Chuck E Cheese pizza scandal. Overall service was good and people were nice. I did ask for ranch to go with the pizza and they didn't have any which was disappointing too. The food was just very sad to me and felt very cheaply made especially for the price point.

Food was interesting. It was a lot of sweet and savory where the taste and flavor of the food was lost by the sticky and sweet sauces adorning the plate. Presentation of the plates was very good but too bad the dishes didn’t taste as good as they looked. The lava cake that they are so famously known for was also very underwhelming, again they doused it in sauce. It’s a shame that the quality of food doesn’t equate the high prices. Service was alright but the atmosphere made up for it.
