Kitchen 79 Jackson Heights Reviews
The food here is delicious! Best I’ve had outside of Thailand! They also have excellent service. I definitely recommend this spot.
Went there for dinner on a weekday. Restaurant is very nicely designed, the girls working there are super nice and friendly, and most importantly the food - it is delicious and affordable. The thai iced tea came in a huge mug which we loved. Fried calamari were good, shrimp with cashew nuts and the duck main course were also delicious.
This charming, small Thai restaurant in Jackson Heights is a true culinary find! Tucked away on a quiet street, it's an adorable spot with a truly cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. What truly sets this place apart, however, are their absolutely fantastic lunch specials. You get incredibly generous portions without sacrificing an ounce of flavor – each dish is a delightful journey for your taste buds. It’s clear they use fresh ingredients and authentic recipes, delivering a consistently delicious experience that keeps me coming back for more. If you're looking for an unpretentious yet exceptional Thai meal in Queens, especially during lunchtime, this little gem is an absolute must-visit. You won't be disappointed!
The ambiance, the food, the desert are all incredibly delicious. We ordered the fried dumplings with 2 Pad Kee Mau and Thai Iced Teas! All so incredibly tasty and absolutely will be coming back ! And to top it all off, the Chocolate lava cake with green tea ice cream. Thank you for the wonderful experiences of flavors today!
Sometimes, the best restaurants aren't so easily seen. Had to use GPS to locate this spot but that would be the only mere grievance I have of this place for the rest of the experience was pleasant and lovely. For starters, the waitresses are very accommodating, so much so to the point that I'd only have to make a slight gesture to get their attention and they have been very helpful for their service. If I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would for their effort. The place inside is very cozy and slightly lit, giving an intimate feel. It really gives a date night type of feel, if only I had a woman to take with me to this place but I digress. The food was absolutely marvelous. I had fried chicken (Thai Style), a salad with the best thousand island dressing I've had on it, sticky rice which was definitely true to its name along with some sweet heat sauce which gives the rice a Supreme kick in flavor. Oh I also had a mocktail as well, Pink Paradise I think it was called which is basically a mix between a daiquiri and sprite. Goes down pretty nice as a carbonated drink would. I liked this place from the ladies taking my order to the food that was a pleasure to have. I will definitely return here.
High recommend you visit this Thia Resturant. It isn't a big place, it holds up to about 30 people. It's small but big in flavor and portion size. Everything our table had was fresh, fresh, fresh. Vibrant Thia flavor. Crab fried rice had crab meat you could see. The chunks of crab were so tasty that you could taste the salt water it came out of. The noodle dishes with seafood so delicious. Deserts, yum. Try the fried ice cream. Warm coconut custard was very good. I can keep going on, but instead, get yourself over to this place so that you can experience the magic for yourself.
A Thai place that my friends and I visited in Queens. We ordered Thai Fried Rice, Green Curry, Pad See Ew, and Pad Kee Mao (all of them were $15 w/ chicken). This place tasted really authentic as there was so much flavor in all the dishes. Furthermore, they adjusted the spice level very well according to our requests. The service was a bit slow in the beginning, but got better near the end. The only downside is the mandatory 20% gratuity for parties of 5+. Other than that, $15 for an entree is value. Overall, I would rate this place a 9/10 - amazing food for amazing prices.
Great Thai restaurant with very reasonable prices, and huge, tasty portions. I had the chicken pad Thai (5/5) and the Thai iced tea (5/5 and HUGE!). The pad Thai was well flavored and the chicken was soft and tender. The Thai iced tea was one of the better ones I've had in the city and was a perfect balance of sweetness and tea flavor. Service was also nice!
LOVE coming here for lunch special whenever I have work in this neighborhood. Lunch special is an awesome deal. You get to have an appetizer and a main dish, which is always filling for me and my friend. And the most important thing is that the food here is so good! Every dish I tried so far amazed me. I keep coming back to try different items on that menu. The restaurant vibe is very chill as well. Definitely recommend to stop by if you’re around here.
We came here many many years ago and it was okay. Came again last night, May 2023, and the food hit all the right ways for us. It has improved a lot since we last went about 2015 or so. Last night, the food was bussin', no cap. We had a delicious meal. There was barely any customers because we were early but yet the service was not too attentive and a bit slow nonetheless we were happy. The service is really nice.. I would go back again without waiting for many years next time around. Street Parking: Can be difficult depending on time of day and how far you want to be. We ended up about 8 blocks away and it was free parking. Ordered: Pad Woon Sen (stir fried glass noodles) Guay Tiew Khua Gai (stir fried flat noodles) Pineapple fried rice Kana moo krob (chinese broccoli and crispy pork)
They take a break around 4-5pm so avoid showing up at that time. Either go early or later. Been coming here for over 5 years and it's still one of my favorite Thai places. You can change the spice level on most dishes. I always go with mild. Thai iced tea 10/10 Pad kee mau 8/10 Khao soi 8/10 PECK GAI MAK KHAMIN TORD 8/10
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Jackson Heights area. I came here with friends and we had such a good time. The food is sooo delicious! We enjoyed it a lot. Place is well decorated, clean and organized. The staffs are very friendly and polite. I believe it got a Michelin star in 2018.
Nice cozy place with good food and excellent service. They have a variety of dishes. Try the mango salad with shrimp , Salmon Chu chee , roast pork, pad Thai and Thai fried rice. Service is quick and dishes are served as snd when ready. Recommended if you are in the neighborhood.
Super cute interior! When you walk in, the place feels very fancy! Food was good but my favorites were definitely the curry puffs and the Po Tak soup (not pictured). Also, I love how the drinks came in these huge jugs. The server recommended their new drink Lychee Thai Iced Tea and it was really refreshing (definitely on the sweeter side). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. Would definitely come back.
Ive been looking for a good Thai place in the area and I decided to do delivery from this location. I was SOO excited to find Crab Rangoon with sweet and sour sauce but this was the spiciest I’ve ever tasted in my life. I couldn’t eat all of it which made me really sad. The chicken Pad Thai was good. Even distribution of chicken and eggs. Very well flavored. I just had to pause dinner because the Crab Rangoon was so spicy I couldn’t taste anything for a while.
Stopped in for lunch. Pretty chill spot. The service was fast and efficient, but nothing over-the-top incredible. The food was mostly good. Crab Rangoons classic and tasty. I had ordered the chicken pad kee mao and requested it spicy, but it definitely was not spicy. I also decided to get the roti massaman appetizer and requested extra spice, but again was left without spice. The roti was also too oily for my taste. In general, the food was a bit too sweet for me. I certainly craved more spice and umami, especially considering how sweet their thai iced tea was. I will say this, though: despite the somewhat lackluster food, the lunch special is a pretty solid deal for the quantity and quality of food!
