Laly’s Jackson Heights Reviews
This is our go-to Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. We looove everything they prepare! Taco Tuesday’s are a big hit with our family. I find their breakfast menu delicious and potions are huge! Everything on the menu is delicious. Ask for their homemade chipotle hot sauce.
Excellent choice for a taco Tuesday, with $3 tasty tacos. Hard to pick a favorite, but maybe the fish. The chicken with thin strips of breaded chicken is a sleeper, and al pastor and steak are solid. Lots of other weekly specials, and the micheladas are sweet and spicy goodness. Have yet to try brunch.
Had a great experience at Laly’s Restaurant in Jackson Heights. The food was flavorful and fresh and the tacos were especially good. The atmosphere was lively and I got to watch the USA vs Mexico game while enjoying my meal. Great vibes, good crowd, and even better food. Definitely a spot I will be coming back to.
Stopped in for an unplanned breakfast because I had time to kill, spent an embarrassingly long time choosing what to eat because it all sounded SO good. I ended up ordering the steak and eggs. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection, well seasoned, and well portioned. Will definitely be coming back.
What a hidden gem! There is a special everyday of the weekday. Our favorite is Taco Tuesday! Every taco is $3. Our all time favorite are the Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos. We’ve brought all the family here and even had my birthday dinner here. I’ve also had their mixed fajitas. Best I’ve ever had!! So delicious and flavorful. Service is also amazing! Everyone is so friendly!!
This place is a hidden gem 💎. I went today for brunch and everything was amazing. The service was the best I've had in a while and everyone was super nice. I knew the food was going to be good when I saw other Spanish people in there. I will definitely be back. The breakfast enchiladas was awesome and they didn't skimp on the shrimp.
Yet another HIDDEN GEM in Jackson Heights! We loved their unique Mexican-American fusion menu! It took me literally just 33 minutes to get to Laly’s on the E train from SoHo. I really enjoy their crazy cocktails and that mixed meat fajita platter! Get the Margarita AI Pastor to start it has Tequila Reposado, Pineapple Juice, Chipotle Agave, Licor De Elote, Lime Juice, Smoked Pasilla, it was so tasty. Here’s what dishes we liked: 🥣 Tortilla soup 🍋 Lemon Herb Chicken (their specialty and my fave!) 🥖 Cuban Sandwich w/ pernil and ham 🍔 Laly’s Burger 🦐 Fajitas Mixas w/ shrimp, steak & chicken
This was my absolute favorite place in Jackson Heights. We stopped in just to have a drink because we noticed they had several beers on tap. They run specials so we had $3 and $4 craft beers. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. I asked him the best place to order tacos.. and then realized they served tacos. At that point I had to order one… which was only $3! And the bartender recommended the fish taco. I am a fish taco fan and I’ve eaten them from many places in the US! And let me tell you.. this was by far the BEST fish taco.. or taco period.. I have ever eaten!!! It was perfectly cooked and presented. Best thing I ate in 9 days in NYC. And the IPA on tap was good too. I love this place!!
Came to Laly’s for brunch. We really wanted to try new food. Food was great, appetizers & breakfast was still available which was a plus. Drinks were even better. Service was great as well. Definitely had a good time & will be coming back to try the enchiladas 🙃. I’ll also post some of the plates we ordered for reference 😉
Nice visit with clients to have a pre closing celebratory drink and dinner. Seating in a booth was a bit cramped but when the guests behind me left, our server helped move my side back, to give more space. Music was at a perfect level for ambiance and allow conversation. Food was tasty and price was good for the portions. Drinks are very good. My frozen margarita (I opted for no salt and no tajin) was perfect! I think I’ll be back for another one soon. Chicken quesadilla was a generous portion with a small side of guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. On an incredibly hot summer night, the temperature inside was just right… not to cold and not warm. Definitely a spot to check out when visiting near the main train hub or off the LaGuardia express bus. I also appreciate not being charged an automatic gratuity as many restaurants are starting to do.
Good food, I especially loved the chorizo mac & cheese, it was creamy, fresh, and so flavorful. Other great dishes include the mole enchiladas, the fish tacos, and Laly's cemita. The meat in the tacos had a few hard pieces. The brunch ricotta pancakes and the asada enchiladas were both really good and filling. The staff was friendly. On the other hand the music and some of the guests were very loud, so conversation was difficult.
I order from here regularly. Food is decent. Love their salads and street corn. But man oh man today I ordered 2 lemonades and they had liquor in them. What a mistake to make for a restaurant. Parents order food for their kids and people cannot consume alcohol because of religious or medical reasons and they are just going to mess up this way? No way. Need to separate liquor from non alcohols because this is crazy.
First time going here, and, as a NY transplant, I'm still chasing my dream nopales. The cactus leaves were grilled, left whole but with slices in them, and were just okay. They lacked that sweetness from cooking longer that I enjoy. The Roosevelt Street Corn was great! (Pretty much like elotes.... still looking for my go-to spot for this dish as well.) The Chorizo Mac & Cheese was delicious! Would pop in and get this just to take home! We also had the Guac and Chips, I don't eat cilantro, so the little bit I tried of the guacamole had an overwhelming flavor of onions. For mains, we got the Bistec Tampiqueña, Fish Tacos, and Enchiladas with Tomatillo sauce. The others enjoyed their tacos and tampiqueña while I was content with my enchiladas. For drinks other than water, one had a Spicy Tamarind and enjoyed it, and I had El Virus and enjoyed it! I think I was so excited about the nopales that my sadness of them overshadowed my whole experience. (I did bring them home and tried my hand at concocting a recipe I don't know.)
I have been a frequent customer of Laly’s for years, but after my experience on 2/15/26, I will not be ordering again. I placed a delivery order that never arrived. When I called the restaurant to find out what happened, I was told it had been 'delivered to someone'—but that person was not me. Most frustratingly, the staff offered zero help. They simply told me 'there was nothing they could do' and essentially shrugged off the fact that they took my money but failed to provide the food. No offer for a refund, no offer to redeliver, and zero accountability for their mistake. Luckily Seamless was extremely helpful and gave me a refund. Next day I emailed the restaurant telling them about my experience and why I would not return, but as of this time I have not received a response. A loyal customer should never be treated with such disrespect.
