Great pupusas a must go if you are in the area and want Central American food.
great service. curtido and pupusas were delicious. will return to try more.
Excellent Latino food. I love the pupusas. Good service.
Great food, excellent service. I recommend the pupusas con chicharrón, (corn tortillas with roast pork)
The best restaurant in the area. Amazing seafood soup with cream.
Such a nice place inside as compared to outside. The staff is usually really friendly and helpful and the food is incredible.
One of the best Salvadorean restaurants in Jamaica! My family loves to come here the decor is so interesting and their pupusas are amazing.
I loved it the food It's great, I will go again.
It's a great restaurant for a family get together we had fun love it.
I love this place the food is great and the environment is awesome my favorite place
O had a great experience. The food was excellent as always.
Loved the food , family environment. Always a great place to go and eat our delicious Salvadorean food
I've been coming here since 1995 and they've never disappointed me.
Real Great Salvadoran food, I have been going there for over 20+ years . Still Great food with an authentic Sabor Guanaco.
Great place to have a lunch, breakfast, dinner. Delicious, Friendly staff, great amount of food. The best on Salvadorian food.
Perfect from start to finish. Thank you for the love and labor
We entered to a home-like colorful and inviting place. The food was tasty, seasoned and delicious. We had El Ranchero meal of the lunch special menu. The plate came with casamiento (mixed rice and beans), fried sweet plantain, pupusa, white cheese and chorizo. Helena the owner was approachable super kind lady. Also the waitresses. We had a nice experience and we can’t wait to go back. ❤️👌🏾😎
Live music, homemade food, 43 years in the business... Amazing food by the way, I had the ilopongo and a blackberry shake, which was fantastic. The rice, beans, and meat mix was a good side choice to the ilopongo, and the plantain was fried rice and soft but not mushy. The shake was frothy, thick, and chunky with real blackberry, and, no lie, about foodgasmed at that table with how good it all was. Will go back for more
My 6 year old son and I went there yesterday and the food was good he like the cheese Burger with fried and i like the creamy soup with shrimp tastes really good, I love calamari and the tast was really good to me also 😋 it look like a restaurant where you get a quick meal with an without the family I think you can walk in and order also the lady was very nice.
Amazing food. I've been coming here for years and they definitely make one of the best pupusas in Queens . They have good soups and a rice called casamiento that taste delicious. They also make good grilled meats and chicken dishes. My only issue about eating inside is that it is very loud. I'm glad they didn't have the live music the recent times I have been but regardless the music is too loud for me. Last thing I recommend is to buy the drink named Horchata...it is delicious!!
I’ve been going to the Salvadorian restaurant all my life since I can remember. They have such great typical dishes and their pupusas are amazing!! The ambience of the restaurant is also great it makes you feel like you were in El Salvador. On certain nights if not every night they have live entertainment which is really nice while you eat great food
Amazing! The service was great, the man was helpful, patient and very charming. Pupusas, Marisco soup tamalitos de elote were perfection. Tasted just like back home. We even took a plate for grandma, and she totally approved!!!
Food was delicious. Some of the best Salvadorian food I have ever had. Staff extremely friend. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend. 🔥
Food is great. The children is very tender & moist, cooked to perfection. Great family place for everyone ❤ my family & I definitely will go back...
The food here is amazing and made to order which makes it take a bit longer but you know is fresh off the stove. Complete Deliciousness !!!
Been going to this spot for years!! I still come from the other side of Queens for their pupusas! Great local and authentic place that's embedded in the fabric of the community
Food is good but service wasn't that great...took forever to order and after we did they just totally ignored us...but it's a hit and miss...because I've gone several times and each time it's a different experience so 🤷
Their food is always delicous, great service and large portions! The atmosphere is an authentic El Salvadorian Vibe! I love the yellow giraffe!!!
Amazing local eatery with great good and history in the neighborhood. Food is always fresh and delicious!!
This place was wonderful!!! Absolutely fantastic beautiful food. I can’t speak highly enough of it please go and try it.
Very good place . Nice food. The breakfast are the best.
The best place in town !! Food was delicious and service was exceptional!
The restaurant space itself becomes part of the experience. Their cooking impressed my taste buds. Every employee was naturally personable. I enjoy food that's straightforward and satisfying. I'm planning another visit to try other menu items.
The glowing feedback online perfectly describes this place. My recommendation for this place never wavers. Recognizing customer preferences shows professionalism. The food we ordered was uniformly fresh, tasty and well-executed. I found this place exceptional.
The atmosphere here is worth experiencing. The costs are reasonable, the menu is easy to read, and dishes taste good. I'd forgotten what truly good service feels like. Their dishes impress both the palate and the eye. The price aligns with what's delivered.
Food is pretty good service is great definitely recommend it
This restaurant knows how to please customers consistently. The food tastes fresh and comes arranged elegantly. The employees provided knowledgeable assistance. The spot features memorable visual touches. I expect I'll be back sometime.
Great food, great atmosphere, nice people and good vibes. Reasonable prices. Menu is easy to read and not complicated. For those who want to see thas the plate has , no worries this menu has pictures for easy selection.
Delicious food for a great price! Service is amazing and the environment is great to sit back, relax and enjoy your salvadorean food. The place is very clean and well kept. Pupusas are a must have! They are also cordial and if you have food allergies let them know and they'll substitute or cook in a contaminated free environment :) excellent service with excellent food!
Food is delicious but it's way too pricey for anyone on a budget.
Good food. Friendly service and generous portions.
Good place to eat with family or friend they’re drinks are really good and their foods and pretty good.
Central American typical fare including Guatemalan Salvadoran Nicaraguan Honduran traditional menu items. Great corn dishes like Pupusas (5 kinds) tamales tortillas chuchitos atoles etc. Great portions with delicious fresh cheese and cream, refried beans, sweet plantains. Also full menu of seafood like shrimp scallops clams mussels lobster whole fish soups and stews. Steaks to rival any steak house, chicken, veal, lamb, pork. Sandwiches and kids menu also. Traditional bakery and coffee shop. Also next door they feature a typical mini Mary stocked with all the central American goodies ranging from canned goods and snacks to cheeses and breads.
Almost like two places in one. A very good Salvadoran place and a healthy cafe called Cafe Energy. Some of us at work order the wraps and some go for the full Salvadoran experience. Stop into the Google offices for this meet up, which features acoustic performances from all your favorite YouTube artists, but make sure you're on the list! Get on there now, an get there early! Either way everyone is always happy with the fast delivery and low prices. The have a "A" rating from NYC and if you eat in they offer free wifi.
The food was good the prices exagerated the staff very friendly will go again but only on special ocations
Food is awesome I try the mariscada cin crema and I love it! Pupusas are great tamales de elote deliciously food is great I would come back!
The environment it’s relaxing to have joy while you wait for meal . The pupusas are delicious .
Food is good especially the pupusas. Just a bit overpriced. The decor is also a little outdated but it's what they're known for looking like. Ive been going to this restaurant since i was a little girl and can always expect to find the chef statue by the door, the elephant figure and all the stuff on the ceiling and walls. Guess I wouldnt recognize the place without the "unique"decor.
Food is always really good, decor and ambiance is very nice. Very authentic feel from the wait staff to the cuisine... A little pricey is the only reason they aren't getting 5 stars from me... However, I'll continue to come back.
The last time I visited this place I was so unpleased. But I like giving everything a second chance so I did. I came back with my mom, dad, aunt, & sister. My aunt ordered Sopa De Rez (beef soup) & Casamiento which is a traditional dish in El Salvador. Its rice and beans together. Mom sis & I ordered pupusas which are these tortillas stuffed with cheese or meat or beans or all together. We all waited for our food to arrive, which took a decent amount of time. When my aunt got the casamiento she noticed it had gone bad! Which means they probably serve left over food (reason being why i took of a star). My pupusas were delicious this time, they were not soggy or undercooked. They were perfect. My mom & sister agreed. When we got the check we noticed that the lady did not charge us for the casamiento we had returned & my aunt had ordered a plate of plain yellow rice, that was not charged either. I was very happy with that, not many restaurants in NYC do that. Other then the spoiled casamiento everything went well, service was good, food was good.
A good place to consider when you want to eat your comfort Salvadorian cuisine. Great prices. Food nice and hot where necessary and cold where necessary also. Beverages and desserts too.
Good food at a decent price point service was good and the food even better I would recommend to try it I went with coworkers and would bring my family here great atmosphere and good workers.
Its very gud stuff enchiladas are good and service is awsome pupusas also gud but i had more batter in one place so 4 star recommended 70% very causal nice and clean atmosphere
Food was really good, def a place for good food. though the coffee wasn't as great as I'd hoped. But that's ok. Big issue is that I'm a parent and there was no changing table in the bathroom. We didn't drive. I had to wait awhile until finally got home to change my baby's diaper.
I was warmly and promptly greeted. My salad was Fresh and delicious. It was small for the price but tasty. Decent amount of seating. Seemed fairly clean from a glance. I'd recommend making my salad at home over going to this place.
I tried the El Ranchero plate at a the place, which came with two pupusas, casamiento (rice and beans), fried plantain, chorizo, and ranchero cheese. The pupusas were freshly made with a nice sear, and the sides were vibrant and traditional. While I appreciated the authenticity and the chance to try these classic flavors together, the overall taste profile wasn’t quite to my preference. Still, it was a special experience to explore a traditional Salvadorian dish, and their service was nice and welcoming. A nice try for my first El Salvadorian experience other than coffee.
Their maduros are hit or miss and if it's a large order they tend to forget an item. Overall food is good.
Food was average, and I could've just cooked it at home, found some small pebles in beans from not cleaning the beans well
It's a nice place, the food is a bit pricey and the portion is small for the amount of money you have to pay.
I feel like its its not how it use to be. Last time i oreded a side of salvadorian crema and they gave me american sour cream and charges $3.
I had tried a soup called mondongo with whit rise really was good I enjoyed it
Rincon is a small little restaurant in the heart of south side Jamaica Queens, and their food and service is decent. I came here late one night before they were closing and was not thrilled with the quality of food. The best thing about this place, was their bakery which offers a plethora of desserts. The service was the only thing that made the forgettable food better. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are in the mood for Latin food, great for desserts, not so great for dinner.
It's not the same place I used to Know when I first opened in the 1968, the pupusa still test great, but the prices have gone up and they closed the store as well where you able to purchase there items. But, coming back to New York it was worth coming to eat my pupusa.
The food is not the best the Prices are exaggerated. Only good thing is the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the place. But doesn't Worth it the price for the food.
Excellent service! Tasty sangria. But the food was very dry. I might try it again but go for the soup.
Service is good waiters very attentive I have a bbq beef ribs and it was hard and dry pork chops are good pupusas is a must try the pernil not so good but over all everything is okay
this place has character but it seems very cluttered with "shrines" or displays. there was only one guy serving tables when i went with my girl on a friday evening. we specifically went for papusas bc she had been there before and wanted me to try them. we ordered a couple of each and the best and most flavorful was the cheese bc it had nothing to clash with its own flavor. everything else that were combinations was lacking in flavor. the marinade they offer did not help. i also ordered a plate of chicharon which are my favorite and it arrived soo dry and did not taste fresh. it was unenjoyable and the waiter seemed way too distracted even though there was only 6 people in the establishment and 2 of which were waiting an uncomfortable amount of time for service. the best thing was the beer to which was bottled and came w a frosted mug. cheers!
I always come here for the pupusa Edit: my family and I have been coming here for years (even before I was born) what threw me off completely this time around when we went, the server wasn't attentive. At first we gave her the benefit of the doubt because she was attending to other tables but the fact that other people who came after us were receiving their drinks before us was a bit upsetting. It took about a good 20 minutes to receive drinks and then when we were missing another drink it took a good while until we called over the server. We also understand that food takes a while but to have orders be forgotten and then being told that they're busy yet others who came after us were receiving their food before us made us question it Again we always come here as a family whether it's to celebrate or just to eat out. this is typically our go to spot but this time around was extremely disappointing
Every time I'm in the area. I stop by for some pupusas. I usually get 2 every pupusa the frijoles con queso, revuelta, queso, and chicharrón. The pupusas were really, salty, a bit overwhelming to eat it. The waiter was good. The jugo de moro was really sweet. I was disappointed in the pupusas because they're usually really good. The restaurant was really hot as well. The ac was not put on, and it was hot outside. Overall experience wasn't the greatest. I might not come again.
The food was not great. The chicken soup did not taste like chicken soup!
We went to celebrate a coworkers retirement, during the day. Many didnt appreciate their meals, as we could only select from the lunch menu. I had grilled chicken and rice... it was the thinest, driest, barely seasoned chicken ever. We also had tres leches cake, which was, indeed, a bit better. The decor was a little old and outdated. Service was mediocre, nothing special about it, but we had a sizable group, and they seem to have tried to accommodate us. I will not return, nor will I recommend it to others.
I took my dear mother here for her birthday, never again. I remember how awkward we both felt waiting for the food to come out, it felt like we were waiting for the 7 train to come. The portions we're small, and for what they charged was ridiculous. The service was not good, in fact I think the bill was brought to the table, before we ordered coffee. Not Recommended.
I am a delivery customer and order monthly. Usually, I order tamales and pupusas. Last Wednesday, I decided to try a Bandeja Familiar as I was expecting visitors. I already expressed my displeasure with Seemless but I'm not sure they shared with the restaurant. Aside from the $35.95 charged for the above, I ordered and paid extra for a tamal de elote ($2.50), 4 purposes revueltas ($12.00) and extra curtido ($3.00). Sadly, the Banderas was missing the 2 tamales, tortillas and costillas. The 2 pupusas that come with the bandeja were burned but the 4 extra were excellent as usual. I expressed my displeasure to Seamless and shared that a refund for missing items should be given. Very disappointing.
The food is okay, depends what your order, I took the popusas...it's corn tortillas,a mixture of meats inside what looks like flat bread, I also had sweet plantain with smash beans, and to drink a special Central American called orchata...good stuff and sweet, the meal was semi satisfying, almost dried. The service very basic unlike other restaurants where they the waitress check to see if everything okay, this place has lots of room ,space to eat, looks more like a museum then a restaurant, over kill with the decor, the food depends what your eating it does need improvement I know Latin food specialy from this region and I can tell you I seen and tasted better. Within the last 20 years I been here only 3 times nothing change if anything you see less customers, try it out see it for yourself.
No liquor for drinks they said because of the owner. What restaurant doesn't sell margaritas and piña colada because they decided not to buy liquor anymore. Lame.
They used to be so good now it’s mediocre and honestly go to the other street to mi Tierra yo try some real food just try to make the food good again it’s sad :/
To start off they took 1 hour to get our food , a hair in my food and my horchata tasted weird , food was cold too
I sorry but they do the worst pupusas, sopa de res , terrible, nobody use smoke beef to make this soup , horrible, not mention the bad customer service
Horrible horrible place!...they have the worst customer service. I waited three hours for delivery, and their food is ridiculously over priced. Most of the good reviews on here are from the restaurant itself. Do not order here, there are way better El Salvadorian restaurants in the area. This place should be closed down!
This Restaurant Is Extremely Racist . Me And My Husband Visited This Place And Although It Was Packed There Was One Table Left . As We Were Waiting, We Noticed The Servers Kept Looking And Avoiding Us . After 10 minutes Of Waiting.. A Latin Couple Came In And The Waitress Immediately Came To Where We Were Standing And Walked Passed Us To Sit The Latin Couple . If You Are Not Their Nationality.. They Will Treat You POORLY . HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The place is nice and the service as well. However I ordered bean and cheese pupusas and it smelled weird. Almost like old cheese was used to make the mix. My friend who just ordered cheese didn't have the weird smell in it though. My best guess is that the mix they used was old. In hindsight it's my fault for eating them but I had a terrible stomach ache after eating. I've been here 3 times already and only 1 out of those 3 times I've eaten here has the food been decent. Overall they're just very inconsistent with cooking so just know that before ordering.
My husband and I stopped on to catch dinner and atmosphere was good UNTIL our dinner came. Mid chew I looked at the wall to see a cockroach crawling, I immediately stopped eating spit out my food. The restaurant did give our meal for free. My husband had gotten the ceviche, I ordered the rice and fish with eggs on side.
Nope. This spot does not hit like it used to. My favorite hot drink from here was atol de elote . I got it today and it was wayyy watered down and it tasted bad. The pupusas were mediocre and I was very disappointed... I'm not sure if I'll be coming back since this is the 2nd time this happens 😒
The food was horrible!!!! The chicken tasted like it died 20 years ago!🤮🤢 Do not eat at this restaurant it’s disgusting.
Went to this restaurant for lunch and the chicken was scorched and burnt. And it was so salty the food was uneatable. Had to go to another restaurant for food. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 DEFINITELY WONT BE RETURNING THERE…..
I just ordered 1 pupusa and it took 20 minutes just for one item. horrible and workers are speeding up not taking there time they look like they dk what patience is they gave me a ceviche that had rotten clams and shrimps 😡😡😡😤😤🤬🤬🤬🤬😠😠😠👿😾
I recently moved back to ny and wanted to come back to this restaurant because it was one of my favorites. I ordered a Sopa de mariscada and it was something i didn’t imagine it would be or taste. I could not even finish this plate, 27 dollars to the trash! The price are wayyy to up for something so pathetic. N
