Chang's Chinese Katy Reviews
We've ordered from Changs for years. They pretty consistently give good portions and have flavorful food. I like that they do their own delivery as well.
It's a good option for small, traditional meals and it's reasonably priced. I always get the special rice with chicken and shrimp for my kids; one order feeds three people for under $12. The spring rolls are good too; I recommend it.
Haven't been here in years. I went to meet a friend that eats there all the time. I forgot how good the sauce on their General Joe's Chicken is. I'll definitely go back sooner. It's one of my favorite sauces on a general Joe's chicken that I've had anywhere.
Chang's Chinese restaurant! This isn't on my side of town, but I've eaten here four or five times in the last six or seven years. It's always delightful and it always keeps me coming back for more! Today we got the house fried rice, house, egg foo yong, and orange chicken. We got eggrolls and wonton for appetizers. We got enough to go with and we can eat on this for a few days.I've eaten at other Chinese restaurants in the area and this keeps me coming back for more! It seems that the owners are very active in their business. I can appreciate their commitment to making their business. Everything they can. For those that have left harsh reviews, you should try running a business sometime!
So first let me say god damn. I was expecting food but I wasn’t expecting this much food. The food is so fresh when it comes out, you gotta wait a few minutes before you can dig in. The ingredients and care that goes into the food shows when you’re trying to chow down on your MOUNTAIN of food. It’s so flavor and delicious. I ate out of my fried rice for THREE meals!!!! Like what the heck! You don’t even get this kinda of value for your money when you buy a house. Hands down the best takeout I’ve had. The staff is so friendly and kind. Plenty of seating if you wanna dine in. My wonton soup was also amazing. So comforting and filling as well. I now know why it was so highly recommended to me.
First time at Chang’s! Excellent Food. Good quality and the serving meal size is bigger than you expect. Love the huge plate of chicken fried rice and General Tso Chicken. Delicious 😋 we were 4 adults and spent💰$49. We ordered 2 Fried rice and 2 Chicken and got part of the rice and the chicken in a container for next day. I Can’t wait to come back 🤩
Food was great. The service was quick, but not just extremely friendly. The waitress did her job, but I felt as if she was waiting for us to leave. It was slow, only two tables in the place so perhaps she didn't have anything to do but sit in the dining room and watch. A little unnerving, but not bad enough to keep me from returning when I'm in Katy again or from recommending it to others. Generous portions at a good price.
In person, the food is very good. Delivery the food is complete opposite! Today I ordered General Tso and shrimp fried rice. I received 4 small pieces of chicken and 3 shrimp in a big order of shrimp fried rice. So disappointed in Changs This seems to happen when I order Delivery from there. Shame on you Changs! Never will I order delivery from here again.
Visiting Houston for A few days wanted some Chinese Food so, I picked this place... Large Portions but, I must say... It's Not The Best but, It's Not the Worst Chinese food I've eaten...Teriyaki chicken with extra sauce (huge pool) And Kung Pow Beef both w/ Steam Rice along with 2 large egg-Rolls... They Were the best Thing out of the entire order...I would like to return the 2 entrees... ANYWAY, I Will Not Be trying them again...I prefer quality over quantity.
The service overall was very friendly, the service time was not that great; it was a while before they took our order. The food itself is just ok, pretty middle of the street; you can’t really taste freshness at all, some of the times tasted kinda old. In conclusion, I would not necessarily visit the place again, they do need to concentrate more on the execution of their dishes for optimal taste and quality.
I door dashed good from here and got the platter for two and I was extremely disappointed. Everything was overly fried and the fried shrimp was bitter and disgusting. They should have never allowed this to be delivered. Never again, so disappointed especially after paying extra for DoorDash.
I recently experienced a deeply concerning incident at what was formerly my preferred dining establishment, CHANG'S CHINESE RESTAURANT IN KATY. Upon being seated, the server presented a menu explicitly stating it was "for Spanish people," offering a limited selection of approximately 4-6 dishes. Shortly thereafter, another couple was seated by the same server and provided with a different, more extensive menu. Seeking clarification, I inquired with a staff member regarding the discrepancy in menus. She confirmed that the menu I received was indeed designated "for Spanish people." I then informed her that I do not speak Spanish, at which point she provided me with the alternative menu. Reviewing the more comprehensive menu, I was profoundly disheartened by the situation. My daughter, observing my distress, suggested we leave. I then communicated to the staff member that my patronage held the same value as any other customer's, and we subsequently departed from the restaurant.
Unprofessionalism with customer and uber driver, I was at this store for pick up as an uber eats driver and I was yelled at and totally embarrassed in front of customers. He held unto the order and kept yelling at me to confirm pick up, I told him he has to hand it to me to confirm order pickup. I did confirm right there I picked up order and showed him but he still insisted I click continue to next step which was supposed to be done when I get to my car and ready to move. The whole situation was very awkward for me. Not only was I embarrassed but he told the receptionist to give me thumps down on uber app which I consider totally inhumane and humiliating me like a thief. I still came back after the incident to patronize as a customer because I do uber doesn’t mean I can’t afford my meal. It doesn’t take anything to be nice to people, you guys should try it.
I ordered house egg foo young and it was terrible! I asked about the gravy before I ordered and they stated it was gravy you out on mashed potatoes,is what I wanted. They lied the gravy looked like soy sauce. They had huge dry hunks of chicken, shrimp was old and the pork,i have no idea. I will never eat there again!!! China Doll has the best egg foo young in Houston! I had to make my own brown gravy.
My girlfriend and I were extremely hungry after our photoshoot we wanted Texas Roadhouse but it was packed so we decided to eat here . My food was not good , I did not like it I could have tried something else … the workers are very friendly . I will say when it was time to the pay the bill an elder lady that works there stood over me at the table and watched me put “0” for the tip , she then asked me “WHY” i did not give a tip and proceeded to say but we served you … my girlfriend asked to see the bill i handed it to her she then started to stand over her and try to tell her exactly where to put the tip as if we did not know where the tip was supposed to go , so we get up and leave after paying the lady takes our plates runs to the kitchen to put our plates down and proceed to chase us through the building asking if we left cash . my problem is you can not force someone to give you a tip your not always going to get a tip but i feel like for her to ask why we disnt give her a tip and tries to argue us down is insane … most people just say thank you have a great night but she did not she was following us through the building for a tip.
I ordered the general cho's shrimp on their website for delivery, after waiting over an hour they showed up with the general who's chicken. Im a peskaterian and do not eat chicken, beef or pork. The replaced it but not the egg rolls I ordered and by this time they were soggy and cold and on top of that they were rood to me even though it was their mistake. Ill never eat there again!
Ordered Kung Pao chicken and it was flavorless except all the nasty celery. That was the only vegetable and it was packed with it. Chicken was processed and not fresh. Soup was lukewarm at best. Egg roll was triple fried and tasted like 6 month old grease. Not worth it, stay away.
I’ve taken to go orders for my family, and everything had been good until yesterday evening, when I bought a big tray of special fried rice and 5 egg roll orders. Today, we had a gathering at home and part of the meals was the special fried rice. When we opened it, the smell was gross so we were looking for the reason of such smell. While we were pulling the rice there were some filaments like things stretching as if it was molten cheese, but it wasn’t. All the food (the entire tray ) was rotten. So yesterday was my last time as a customer of Chang’s Chinese Restaurant. I lost my money and had to solve the issue without any spare time
I called in an order, I’m currently in the restaurant to pick it up. So I cannot even rate the food…I walk in, the lady behind the counter is glued to her cellphone. Doesn’t even look up to greet me. I tell her the name for the order I am picking up, she very rudely responded with “it’s not ready yet come back” I said “can I pay for it now?” Still.. no eye contact, glued to her phone the whole time, slammed receipt on counter and said “sign” no thank you, nothing. Use to love this place but not anymore for service. Hope the food is good.
