My boyfriend and I split the turkey sandwich and it was delicious and filling. We loved the atmosphere of this place and can’t wait to come back! Oat milk lattes were also yummy! 😊

Had an almost life altering BLT. Was upstate for a weekend and friends recommended we stopped by here (did take out) on the way out. It’s one of those places where its felt a little chaotic so be prepared to wait ~30m or more.

Visited Rosie General in Kingston for a mocha latte and loved the cozy, welcoming vibe. The coffee was smooth, rich, and perfectly made. Great spot to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the local atmosphere.

The Cubano/breakfast burrito was phenomenal. They had run out of certain things and the chef was so nice that he gave us a complimentary turkey sandwich. Fast service and great food/coffee

This place is straight out of Gilmore Girls! It’s cute inside with a wraparound bar and window seating that looks out. We loved the general store items featuring local brands. The cafe component had a bit of line, but it moved relatively fast. We got bagels and cream cheese and enjoyed them! Great place for a Sunday morning breakfast in the Hudson River Valley.

Bakery, coffee and sandwich shop using local produce. I had the best Ruben I have ever had. They have a selection of local produce, local jams and jellies, and a small selection of specialty dry goods. I would definitely recommend this spot for food! I found a hard to find Italian fish sauce on their shelves too. (The picture is only a 1/2 of the Reuben as the other part was eaten before I remembered to take the picture. The Ruben was made with a delicious melt in your mouth slab of pastrami instead of slices, which is how they are typically served. )

The best Reuben sandwich I’ve eaten in a long time. Bread: soft, good chew, crunchy crust without being tough/cut up the roof of your mouth. The meat is tender at every bite, great char, and with a solid balance of fat and salt. The sauce, cheese and sauerkraut added moisture and cut through the other flavors quite nicely. The only reason atmosphere is 4/5: they need to expand or have more tables. Will drive up again, highly recommend!

This family run company exceeded our expectations for a small town bakery. Quality quality quality sums up this establishment. They bake all their breads and confections. If I had a favorite it would be the pistachio cookies - divine. The sandwiches were delicious and coffee made us feel at home. Anthony , Nichole , Andria, Mom (Rosie) and weekend support Ashley make the experience here far above the rest. Rosie General puts Kingston, NY on the map.

I was exhausted when I arrived, couldn't even really focus on the menu. I asked for a recommendation and the lady recommended the "spicy egg toast". I had no clue what that was, but saying ok meant I didn't have to think. When I got it, I questioned my life choices but hey, I gave it a shot. I don't know what the person who came up with this dish was going through when they invented it, but I wish them all the best. It was absolutely delicious and one hell of a surprise. Spinach, spice, bread, eggs and beans. Like, what!? Anyway, 13/10 recommend highly.

Rosie General is a great addition to Kingston! They are here for the community providing great coffee (Mud, the best!) and food at an affordable price. They are open 6 days a week, making fresh bread and flavor bomb sandwiches. I go to this place whenever I’m near.

We had a great breakfast there. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I also bought 4 desserts and they were all excellent. Very moist and flavorful. I highly recommend Rosie's.

If you imagine the cutest coffee place with a rustic feel, with plants and a little section for small goods.... Rosie's is probably what you would imagine. The prices are great and the food and coffee are just as good

We are out of state visitors eating here for the first time. The place is super cute inside. You can see the desserts behind a glass partition. They all looked amazing. We ordered the grilled cheese, the pastrami sandwich, the turkey sandwich and the salami sandwich on gluten free bread, a flourless pistachio cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. All our food was delicious and served quickly even tho it was packed for lunch. My daughter said it was the BEST gluten free bread she has ever had. Highly recommend this place. The staff was efficient and friendly.

Cozy atmosphere with fabulous vibes—whether you have kids or just want to zone out and read an interesting book—with phenomenal baked goods and sandwiches. Perhaps the best Reuben sandwich I’ve ever had. Part-traditional, part innovative, 100% delicious.

Came here a few days ago and it was so good we had to come back. I got the mushroom toast both times. The first time was far better than the second. The second time the mushrooms were barely cut or cooked which was sad because who wants to waste these beautiful mushrooms. Will try again because we like the idea and the quality of the ingredients but would’ve loved more consistency.

If you follow The Kind Diet and consider yourself vegan, you will find few options here. The one vegan b’fast sandwich was sold out by 12:30pm, the time of my arrival on a Sunday. Fair enough. But the counter person didn’t even know if the salads were vegan (nope). There are zero options for swaps on the menu. So I opted for a semolina role and oat milk latte, both were delicious. I would have gladly spent more than 8 bucks, if this establishment were vegan-friendly. Vote with your dollars, my fellow vegans, and shop elsewhere!

I don’t know when $20 sandwiches became normal but no Reuben should cost that much considering most of the locals don’t even make $20 per hour in Kingston. It’s an okay sandwich at best, people saying it’s “the best” just haven’t had enough Reuben sandwiches to form an experienced opinion. I won’t be back to this place, it’s not for locals, it’s for transplants or tourists with big disposable income budgets. My opinion doesn’t matter, this business and businesses around them continue to cater to everyone and their Brooklyn brother. Regrets were made, lessons learned. 🐣

Waited for about 45 minutes for a mushroom sandwich that was missing elements listed in the menu description. I got the saddest sandwich for a huge price tag. Very disappointing and frustrating. Staff was unhelpful, uninterested and dismissive. Not returning here—being busy is not an excuse to just take your money and ignore your order

I visited your establishment for lunch today and had a rather poor experience. This was my first time dining at Rosie’s, and I was very excited to try the food I’ve heard so many great things about. I ended up waiting over 45 minutes for my food. I also work in the service industry, and am not one to rush service workers, but once we surpassed 30 minutes, it was clear to me that there was a mistake, or I didn’t hear my name get called. I attempted to speak to the counter person who ignored me and pointed at the long line. This was honestly a fair move, as the line was out the door and she seemed by herself for the most part! She was totally unsupported. Eventually, a cook (I assume she was a cook) very nicely went out of her way to ask me if I needed something since I had been standing and waiting next to the counter for so long. When I told her I had been waiting for 45 minutes she looked up my order and said it had been sitting on a counter on some plates in the back for 20 minutes, which I assume means I did not hear my name and rather than calling it again, the plates were moved to the back. I placed the order to-go, so I hadn’t been looking out for it on plates from where I was sitting at the bar. I was also given no direction for where to stand and listen for my name. I never left the restaurant, I was constantly looking over at the counter for my order, and was actively listening for my name the whole time. The cook who spoke to me put our order into to-go containers (rather than wrap up our sandwiches as we ordered them) and sent me on my way. Needless to say, my $40 order was completely cold, squished into boxes, falling apart, and the bread had gotten soggy. I don’t blame the cook for this at all, she was very busy and went out of her way to solve this problem for me, and honestly, the sandwiches we ordered were already cold and soggy regardless of being smushed since they had been sitting out for so long. She was incredibly kind and apologetic, and the only reason I ended up getting food at all. I understand you are a very high volume cafe, and everyone working today was working very hard to the best of their ability. I made sure to tip 20% and I don’t blame them for this one order slipping through the cracks after seeing how crowded Rosie’s was and how overwhelmed the counter people and cooks were. However, spending $40 for essentially cold leftovers feels unacceptable!! I hope you can hire more staff because a lot of these reviews are reflective of a team that isn’t being supported.

I liked the reuben, but this was the only time I've been ravenous after eating an $18 sandwich. My wife's pastrami and my daughter's jam toast were not executed well, to the point that my wife found hers inedible and my daughter had a hard time eating hers. I ate my wife's sandwich because I was that hungry. Understanding that there's almost always going to be uncertainty about the cause, I became violently nauseous about 4 hours after our lunch. The timeline and symptoms indicate our meal here gave me food poisoning

Great atmosphere, loved the market/dining feel. Got 3 sandwiches which were delicious. Service was however slow and not the friendliest. Had an okay experience until I attempted to purchase banana bread. Was denied being able to buy the whole loaf because it would be considered “a special order” but I could purchase “multiple slices” instead. Was restrictive on purchasing.

The other scathing reviews are correct. This place looks nice and they have good bread, but my $15-20 sandwiches had next to nothing on them and were mid at best… it was an absolute joke. Will never ever go back and will dissuade anyone interested. What a disgrace to Kingston New York
