Amazing customer service!! My son stopped to pick up dinner for the family and found out they didn’t send a side with our order. Called the store and spoke with Jake to see if we could just go back up to the store and pick up or missing side. He apologized and said absolutely, then offered a gallon sweet tea for the inconvenience. We love their chicken tenders and their customer service is why we will always come back!! Thank you Jake!!

Yesterday was the first time I could leave my apt which had no electricity, no fire place, no real food for 3 days. We drove from south Austin looking for food. This was one of the few places open. The line was an hr long and the food was hot and good, the sweet tea perfect! I want to thank the workers for their efforts during this storm. It is VERY MUCH appreciated!!

We eat here once or twice a week. The roles are the best. Very good chicken to beats churches and KFC hands down. Staff is very friendly and building is relatively new so still in good shape. Nice clean environment. Easy access off the highway. RV parking available on a street adjacent to the parking lot.

I enjoy going here and find it pretty simple to order for the whole family. They have some really good spicy chicken served with gravy to subdue the heat which is cool. And the rest of the food is soulful and delicious. Just make sure they pack your corn nuggets and additional side items, because they almost always forget mine, so 4 on service but everything else? 🤌🤌

Food was fresh and hot. Spicy tenders are not too spicy. Gravy is thin and tasteless. Biscuits are good. Corn Nuggets were cold, but replaced order was hot and delicious!

Chicken quality here is great. I've been twice on Friday nights and Ty has been a great host. It's kinda small but the lighting is great and the tables are spacious and not too close together. Very fast and friendly service. Not all Chicken Express's are this good they are franchises and some of them don't control for quality as they should.

We actually got the 8 piece, but it wasn't listed below... happy to say that we tore our food up! It was so hot, fresh and delicious even though we arrived 15 minutes before closing time! Our leftovers were still as yummy the next day!

Our go to spot for when we are craving chicken. I can definitely say chicken express over raising canes. Chicken express serves hot, flavorful and crispy chicken, and I actually receive big pieces!! (Cough cough raising canes chicken pieces have shrunken and you pay the same price as chicken E!) The atmosphere is always clean each time we have gone to dine in and the staff is so friendly and truly live up to the southern hospitality. We went in earlier in the evening and for my order I had ordered the 4pc but they were generous and gave me 8 pcs! The man who took our order also was kind and threw in a free cookie for our baby girl and would cover for it. :) We love our Chicken E in Kyle and will continue to give them our business!

Always friendly service and the chicken is nice and crispy. The eating area and drink station is very well kempt as well. There are two televisions and it usually has some sports station on. The prices are very reasonable as well. They also have very popular sweet tea and they sell it by the gallon if you prefer. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Good to great tenders. Spicy or regular, fries are great, and rolls are amazing. Tea is really tasty as well. Price is high, almost $17 for 6-7 tenders. Cleanliness is not great here either, tons of bugs by the beverage area. Not a lot of attention to dirty tables as well

Nobody goes to Chicken Express for the atmosphere, lol. But you should definitely go for the fish. Probably some of the best fried fish I've ever had. And the tartar sauce is good! Thank you to Nia who told me about the fish. You were right, it is excellent.

This place is rock solid if you need a fried chicken fix. The sides are great, especially the jalapeño poppers, green beans, and fried okra. I get the rolls over the biscuits, my personal choice. Don't expect a lot of witty banter from the drive thru host but they do try to get you out in an Express way...

Food is always hot I can't complain there. The prices are chicken prices these days. Need more customizing on the menu side. Some times I don't want 20 tenders I may just need like a 8 or 12 pack for a mid to small family

The store has a nice laid back feel to it. The counter is not always maned. They tend to prioritize the drive thru more than the inside counter.

This was my first time ordering from Chicken Express. The chicken tenders and fries were good, and the price was decent for the amount of food. However, the drive-thru service was a bit off.

Overpriced but has decent food, they’ve raised the prices so much that it devalues what they have to offer. Paid $15 for a standard 4 piece tender and an apple pie… $10 for the meal that was 7.99 last year, and 2.70 for an apple pie. Was also charged for all additional sauces. This is not fine dining, it’s fast food. Feel let down and robbed as a regular customer for many years.

Although the food and tea is great you can guarantee that at any location you go to you will get the wrong order or you will be missing something from your order every single time. Most likely gravy or your biscuits or even your French fries but you better check every last detail about your order before you drive off.

I love me some chicken express but the prices increases are getting out of control. $15 for a 4 piece tender meal. It’s cheaper to go to a sit down restaurant.

Food is good, but I ordered the Monthly Special that was supposed to come with a Gallon of Tea, well, they said they were out and were substituting the tea with 2 44 ounce cups. Then they full each cup with ICE and didn't adjust the price! Last time I checked a gallon is 154 ounces NOT 88! NOT COOL!!

Chicken was good, sweet tea was on but my fries were cold. Did I return them? No because there was a bunch of young people having too much fun in the kitchen. I settled for what I got. Next visit I'll request hot fries.

Its fine I guess. Its basic fried chicken, skin is too hard, needs more salt+seasoning. mashed potatoes need more pepper. biscuit tastes good but a little on the dry/stale side. So its edible, but not my first choice. Then when you factor in the price, wow its so expensive. Got a mixed box and it was $50!

Oh where to start…. I’m in the drive-through and they have my food ready for me in like 10 seconds. Now at the chicken express in Livingston Texas where I eat, when you order fried okra they yelled in the back fried okra! Which means they drop it right there and it’s nice and hot when you get it. So I get my fried okra and my chicken and they are room temperature. Now the girl at the drive-through was precious and very sweet. She took it back and so-called redid it for me. When it came back the okra was awesome, but the chicken was still Icebox cold. Now we’re talking about a dinner that cost six dollars, so really not a big loss. But how many times have you ordered at a drive-through and took off 5 miles down the road and go to eat and it’s totally disgusting?

I spent $50and change at the location in Kyle. You are the only place to serve fried okra. I was looking forward to it. The okra was cold and burned and tough. I don’t want to guess how long it was sitting there. You may have plenty of customers but I don’t think I will go back.

Wasn't impressed anymore. Don't come as often as I'd like but when I do there is always something missing. There's never any hot sauce for the gizzards & livers, or never any sweetener for the unsweet tea.then when I ask for a large water cup instead of a gravy bowl for my water, I get charged for it. I must say I'm probably going to stop coming to this location on account that this has happened at least 4 times.

I think they need to pull the harder older chicken. 2 times in a row now we have to throw 2 to 4 peaces away because they are older looking and very hard! Otherwise i would give them 4 stars. I am going to call and let management know today as well.

A bit disappointed as we were in the mood for some fried chicken. We went inside....although only a couple of tables were occupied, all the others were dirty. Even a 'cleaned' one still had grease and crumbs. The chicken tenders were warm...barely, although the corn and biscuits were hot. My wife complained afterwards about feeling bad. An online check of their nutrition information revealed that they use MSG in pretty much all the chicken. We won't return until they discontinue that practice. Too bad, we love good fried chicken!

Unusually poor CE experience. The drive through was literally around the building, so I went inside. I waited about 7 minutes standing there with several employees acknowledging I was there. All the time just continually taking other car orders and stacking the queue. Finally I placed a simple order and told them if anything was out,let me know as I was in a hurry. I waited about 10 more minutes to get served. There were literally zero cars waiting by then. To top it off, the fish was undercooked and the hush puppy tasteless. You can do better, CE.

They can't get your order right and once we got our food it was cold and undercooked! Have been going to Chicken Express in Longview, TX for years the one on Judson Rd whomever owns this one might want to get someone from there to show them how to do it right! Good luck will never return!

My kid likes to get chicken from this place. He usually requests the 4 piece spicy tenders. This time he tells me to order them regular, as when he ordered them before it made his stomach hurt. I had a simple order. I ordered 4 tenders, fries, biscuit, Diet Coke without any ice and a cookie. I am the only one in the drive thru lane. I figure this has to be promising. Oh how wrong I was. The young kid taking my order is either not paying attention, half asleep or on something. He has to repeat my order 3 and 4 times. I get to the window and pay. He only repeats my order and tells me my total. That is the last conversation I had with him. Thinking my order would be simple, I sat in the drive thru for over 25 minutes at the window, waiting for them to hand me my food. The kid working the drive thru's eyes looked glazed over. You could definitely tell he was not all there. He never apologized for the wait. The whole time I waited at the window, he kept rubbing his nose with his shirt and his fingers, without washing his hands or using a napkin. As I am waiting, there are 4 cars deep now. He is taking payments and bringing drinks to the people who ordered way after myself. I then see the lady 2 cars behind me get her food and leave. How do you screw up a 4 tenders meal? I can see one guy prepping the food and another lady who walks towards the back. It was just before the lunch rush, so you figured they would have chicken and sides already ready to go. That was not the case. It was almost 30 minutes after I placed my order that I finally got my food when I was the only car in the drive thru. The only positive thing about this place was the food was hot. I have worked in food service industry before. I know if you are cooking up brand new chicken tenders, it only takes less than 8 minutes. I am really not sure why I wasted over 30 minutes for a 4 piece meal. To the manger, you need to fire the young kid working the drive through. He is not very friendly or professional. He needs to learn some manners and needs to stop rubbing his nose on his shirt and his fingers and then touching customer's food. That is not only gross, it is a health violation. This chicken place is only slightly better than one of the other places my kid likes to frequent in Kyle. The next time, I will go elsewhere.

They show they close at 9pm on Google. They are open but all lights are off?? I understand short staffed but lights being off basically says screw the guest. I ordered a 25 piece spicy tender meal and was told 20 minutes. It’s now beyond 20 and still waiting. You shouldn’t turn lights off to deter business. Everyone knows you are short staffed but the managers decision to set a perception of being closed is wrong. Hard to grow business when you’re telling guest they aren’t important. Will never eat here again.

I think I have visited Chicken Express in Kyle for the last time. I got old chicken - the kind that has been sitting for a long while only for the oil to collect from sitting in one spot for a long time, old corn on the cob that was partially a darker yellow maybe from the day before, cold biscuits that were hard from sitting for too long. I've complained about this restaurant too many times but what's the use? Whats the use of complaining only for the issues to be covered with a bandaid and allowed to continue without resolution.

Update: Again on Saturday, June 19 2021, they closed earlier. The food is great, the only problem is the employees, they need a better training or a better management. I arrived 27 minutes before closing, 2 employees saw me walking towards the entrance and an employee almost ran to close the door. This was in Kyle. A week earlier in Seguin, Texas. My husband and I arrived 1 minute before closing. We were treated excellent, the food was delicious and all employees very friendly. They should teach Kyle employees how to work and above all teach them work ethic.

Tonight was the first time I've ordered from Chicken Express. The rolls were very good. The chicken not so much. There was no flavor. It's like the breading had no seasoning or salt. It was just very bland. Don't think I'll go back.

I don't even know where to start. 1. Rude at the drive thru saying, "Is that all"after every thing I tried to order. 2. Stank eye stare at the window and not saying a word before closing the window. 3. Leaned against window with her back to us the whole time. 4. Opened the widow and says, "Can you pull forward" 5. Pulled forward and waited 14 minutes before someone came and asked what we ordered again. 6. Waited another 6 minutes before they brought the order and read it off. 7. Pulled in parking lot to check order and it was missing Mac and cheese that was on receipt. 8. Went back to drive thru and I said, "hi, I just came through and one of my Mac and cheese is missing." 9. Rude person just said, "pull around".... Honest mistake but still could have said sorry. 10. At the window asked for my receipt and another lady saying I thought I put it in your bag... This is where I get frustrated. I paid $50 for my meal and they are arguing over $5 Mac and cheese that doesn't cost near that to make. Why am I not just forgetting about it? Because I paid for it AND I have kids to feed after a really long day and late dinner. They reluctantly give the Mac and cheese and I come home... The kicker, the Mac and cheese they gave is sour. It's hard to see the picture but it's lighter, chunky, and smells like sour dairy as well as tastes like it. Never again... My wife doesn't understand how I am so nice and patient in these situations and this time I wish I hadn't been.. horrible experience and after 25 years in customer service and management, there was absolutely no excuse for the behavior.

They won't let you even get dark meat only which is silly since it's a matter of just putting all of one kind. Went here one other time and underwhelmed for same reasons that others mentioned. Will be going to Golden chick from here out even if they're further away. Golden chick has no problems letting you have all dark meat AND they don't mess up your order

Been awhile since I left a review on them. Sat in 3 car line FOREVER, 12 minutes so far!! Why? Everyone waiting on the 1st car. Get a clue by moving the order thats taking forever to the side. At 17 minutes of not moving I left. They have raised prices, twice over the past year. $8, to $9-something, to $10-something for a 4 pcs box. Also now charge an extra fee if paying by debit/credit, which is weird to give incentive for using cash. I'll be taking a LONG break from Chicken Express. Edit: Has gotten worse, not better.

Ordered gizzards and chicken. Gizzards were so salty they could not be eaten and I even like salt. They were way over cooked. The chicken was over cooked to the point it was dry and the breading tasted like old grease. Total waste of money. I know they would offer a comp meal if I called in about this, but what would change. Will not go back. I will not go out of my way to tell people about it but if I am asked about the place I will voice my opinion.

Double check your reciepts. The Menu price for a 2 fish fillet Dinner that comes with 2 sides is $9.99. A 2 Fish fillet Combo that comes with 1 side and a drink is also $9.99. I made it clear that I wanted a Dinner. The drive through cashier charged me 9.98 for two separate menu items, 2 fish fillet and 1 side a la carte ($7.49 + $2.49), then claimed that they were not the cashier that entered the order.

Chicken tasted good but the gizzards were kinda cold. And it took long for only having ordered 3 pieces of chicken. Wow

We got there 20 mins before closing, and the girl said they couldn't make any more chicken. I asked to speak with the manager because it made no sense that they shut down the fryers at 830p (this is what she told me). She told me to drive up. I went to the window and noticed the fryers steaming. They did not look to be turned off for cleaning. A lady came to the window she said she was the manager. She offered to stay past closing to make the chicken(which, if they would have made it when I ordered it, it would have already been done). It is now 950p. She explained that the fry cook was cleaning and would be cross-contamination if he was to drop food. At 1001p, the girl that I first spoke with came to the car with an attitude and basically shoved the order into the vehicle as I was asking her to wait to make sure I had hold of the bags and proceeded to walk back to the door. I ask for her name a couple of times and she ignored me. I told her I was going to call the GM and complain and she said the woman I spoke with was GM. I will be calling today.

Food was good, but there were bugs EVERYWHERE, including fruit flies crawling on my food! Will not be eating here again anytime soon. Hopefully they can fix this issue! The scary thing is, if we hadn't gone inside, we never would've known. We've always just done the drive thru.

When they actually listen to you and give you the food you asked for it's good. But the vast majority of the time I'll order all white meat and they don't give me all white meat. I sat here in the line for 45 minutes, get up there and they try to hand me dark meat again. Then they tell me I have to wait an additional 11 minutes because they don't have any white meat. They had plenty of wings but they wouldn't give me but one extra one to make up for a breast. Which is a total rip off. These people need to get it together. I think I'm going to stop coming here cuz I'm tired of every time I come here you can't give me the right color of meat that I'm asking for

This location always has issues getting the orders correct. Always missing something either fries or rolls or gravy. Food is good just order is always short something.

Whatever you do don’t order 1 hr before they close , I purchased 2 orders of tenders one spicy and one regular, I couldn’t tell which one was which because they looked like they got reheated in oil just like they’re fries very disappointed. Brian was extremely rude. I used apple pay outside with a worker, when Brain came to the window he demanded payment again, I advised I had paid outside. He then yelled and asked “ Ma’am do you want to pay for your food our not , huffing and puffing and yelling at me”.? I was appalled as I didn’t have an opportunity to say “ I had paid already or see what was going on”? This was extremely rude and unacceptable. Then Kay, came over and was trying to get him out of the way to talk to me and he wouldn’t move. I have never been treated so rudely or spoken to like that in my 54 years on earth! If I had NOT waited and or thought my card had been charged before pulling around, I would have left. No one should be yelled at and felt belittled “ while spending money at a place of business “.

Made online purchase for fish filets. When we tried to eat the fish it was extremely salty. My husband and I couldn't eat the filets. Answered an online survey on how good our online purchase was and that we'd receive an answer back within 48 hours. Never received a response, expensive lesson learned.

One of the most poorly ran restaurants I’ve ever seen. Long wait times, low quality food. I see why the staff does a poor job and does not care about the food they serve. Looking at these reviews I’ve noticed management doesn’t respond to any of them, good or bad. I guess they think owning a major chain is all you need to be successful but this is not the case. Prices have gotten insane. How can Chicken Express justify the price increase on their menu items? Almost $100 for 30 piece family meal with sides!!! I used to love Chicken Express but they will never get another penny from me ever again. Busch’s and Golden Chic prices show how badly Chicken Express is gouging with their prices.

Why place an order ahead of time when, upon arrival to pick it up, the order is all wrong or missing items? Then you have employees who don't seem to care, making you wait for an order that you placed in advance. That was the whole reason for ordering online! This is not the first time this has happened!

Today I visited chicken express for dinner, it all started when I approached the speaker and all I heard was “tell me when you’re ready” not even a greeting or nothing. I feel like I wasn’t a valued customer. I got my order and I asked for condiments as per their sign “condiments available upon request” on the window when I asked for condiments they just threw them in the bag like they didn’t care and rushed us out of the window (that’s what it felt like) no customer connection, no social skills, this place is unprofessional and not worth my business, needless to say I will be going to KFC next time

Who uses plastic bags as cup holders. 2 large sweet tea spilled all over the place. The rug and carpet in my car was soaking wet and sticky. I had to stop everything I was doing to clean up the mess because I didn't want thousands of ants in my car. Use cardboard cup holders. I went to the manager pissed off and he still gave me plastic cups holder again. Didn't apologize or try to fix the problem. Why give me plastic bag holders again knowing it is an issue

Teeerrible experience tonight. Paid and sat in drive through for 20-30mins with 4 other cars all waiting on our food and assumed they were cooking. Nope. Got a box of cold dried out chicken and burnt/hard cheese sticks.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! This place is so inconsistent it's not funny. First off, you'll notice on the reviews, no one person from the company bothers to try to make things right. They are obviously just accepting that this place is a dump & no one actually takes pride in their work. Also, I'd like to make it known that you can't file a formal complaint. If you call, they claim they will take your name and number and forward it on. Lol. Suuuuuure. So today I get what should be the simplest meal. A number 1. The roll, fries, & Cheese sticks were all cold. Got those as my choices, went for dinner option. The chicken strips are laughable. ( see attached pictures ) For a $13 meal, it turned out to be a $13 waste. Take the time and go somewhere that cares about their customers. This is ridiculous.
