What Customers Say About Chili's
Chili's in La Mesa is praised for its good service, reasonable prices, and tasty food. The 3 for me deal and ribs are popular. It's a reliable spot for a casual meal with TVs for sports viewing, though some find the hostess service lacking.

Tip: Happy hour is a great time to visit, especially for the margarita of the month. Also, consider the 3 for me deal for a cheap and good meal.

Chili's La Mesa Reviews
Great service at the bar! My burger was cooked perfectly and delicious! The beer selection was good and the relaxed atmosphere was a plus. Good job!
This place is legend. The food is a good mix of mexican and comfort. Salads for vegan, ribs and burgers for the rest. Easy parking waiting about 3 minutes for a table. Wait staff were very attentive and worked smoothly together. I had a burger that was big and cooked med/rare as I asked. My ice tea was refilled without having to chase down someone. Very family friendly. A little noisy but still a very good dining experience.
The service was excellent. All staff really was really engaged. Form the bar to the table staff had good fast services highly recommended. This chili's and prices are really decent and affordable for the amount of food only negative . Broccoli for the side was dry, but other than that cant say anything, but it's good things stop by in the area. The manager was really friendly and came in and checked if we needed anything . 5 out 5
This place was great today. It provided everything I needed to get me through the rest of my day. I sat at a table in the bar and my waitress was cute, friendly and attentive. I have no complaints because the food really hit the spot with rather large portions of beef, poultry and shrimp. The place was empty, the food was great, the facilities clean and service not lacking at all.
Went with low expectations and liked it! Had a steak for $19 and a starter trio dip for $12 and feel like it could easily have fed 3 people instead of 2. Service was fast and attentive and there are tabletsom the tables. There are plenty of more affordable options, like the $8 lunch or the anytime $10 meal or $25 for 2 (with dessert). Would like to come back and try other stuff

Good ribs and price is reasonable. I don't like very sweet ribs and they did a good job on that. Also ribs are juicy too, will order from them again.

Chillis Better than I remember. I had very low expectations coming into this chain restaurant. Chilis probably exceeded my expectations the most. Maybe because I never remembered it being as good as it was or I had very low expectations coming into the joint. Nonetheless, this place was decently good. Came here with a friend because I had been holding onto this gift card for probably the last 10 years and finally had the kahunas to come out here. I will say when we walked in, it was packed and BUUUUUUSSSSYY! About the food: - Bottomless chips and salsa - Triple Dipper (Nashville Hot Chicken Crispers, Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers, Bone in wings) - Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadilla - Guacamole 🥑 My favorite was the Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadilla. The flavor of the chicken was great and did not taste dry at all. Getting a side of guacamole was game changer cause we used it for the quesadilla and the chips. My least favorite was the salsa of the, chips and salsa. Even though it was bottomless I wish the salsa was a little thicker.
We tend to go to Chilis on weekday nights when we are feeling lazy, don’t want to spend much and are feeling like eating fried comfort foods for dinner. We’ve never had to wait for a table. This time we went on a Wednesday after work and it definitely wasn’t crowded. My wife and I always order the same combination of menu items to share - one triple dipper (we choose the honey crispers, big mouth bites and either the stuffed mozzarella or the egg rolls) and the three for me (Dr Pepper to drink, chips and salsa but upgraded to the dip trio with two queso’s and a salsa if we are really hungry, and then either fajitas or the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas). We always walk out stuffed with leftovers that make a great late night snack. Menu prices have gone up, but with a fair tip it’s still less than $50 for two people. Service is always super friendly. It’s relatively clean for a chain restaurant - tables are kind of sticky and it’s “old” decor but never dirty.
Great place for a lot of food for a great deal. I think aroumd 12 dollars without tip for a burger and fries and a drink. I heard chips and salsa come for free when you are a member!
Hostess was very uninterested in being polite and interacting with people. If I had to rate this visit on her alone it would get one star. It was obvious she doesn't like her job and wanted to be somewhere else.
With all the hype from the mozz sticks, I expected them to be.. tastier. Still pretty good, and plenty of Nashville hot seasoning which made it addicting. I unfortunately had my hopes higher with everything including the burger from YouTubers who said how great things were. But overall, it was a solid meal that I don’t need to eat again.
Total Score: 8.55 Bathroom: 1.5/5 Bathroom was quite icky. Why was the area around the urinal so wet. Why is the paper towel dispenser so high up. Why are there so many holes in the drain. Customer Service: 4.25/5 Very easy to grab. Could get what we wanted. Also checked up on us frequently. Only gripe was the lack of water. Ambiance: 3.5/5 Normal American sports bar vibe. Food: 5/5 I’ve never had food so American and Chungus. This is my first time here and I’ve only seen the tiktoks about Chili’s so always wanted to been. This is the big back dream. I was literally covered in sauce after this. The cheese pull from the mozz was heavenly. The messy hands. The sauce. The mini burgers. This went beyond my expectations. I was living the big back dream. I went nonverbal eating everything. Wow: 1/1 I was in a state of enlightenment this day. This is what they mean by the American dream. I have made it. I have truly made it out. I felt like I could go back to church and be Christian and straight again. I was lifted up into heaven. I was ready to sing praises Total Score = BR + CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW
When I arrived, I waited at the front to be seated with my partner. Another couple walked in after us but was seated before us. Luckily I was in a good mood so I let that slide... I approached someone in another area just to let them know we were waiting to be seated and now I insisted that I wanted to be seated on a particular side. He was nice about it. We waited for about 5 to 10 minutes before someone approached us to take our order. The food and drinks were all great on time of delivery so thank you. The quality of the food was delicious, I forgot to snap photos of our food. Attentiveness to our table from the time seated could improve, checking on us while we eat could also improve otherwise it wasn't a bad experience and I would definitely return back for more delicious food and drinks.
Chilis is Chilis, you don't go there for a world class meal, you go for a quick triple dipper. This was the closest location on the way home from SFO so we stopped for lunch. Sat right away as there …
Standard Chili's restaurant, so know what to expect. Varied menu, good service, not haute cuisine but good food, reasonably priced. Nothing to dislike.

We had a lovely server who is a nice young woman . It was Valentine's Day weekend and we were seated in a very loud area near the bar. The food was pretty good, but I was shocked at how expensive. $100 with tip for 2 people and no alcohol or desert served . I got chicken fajitas and she had chicken crispers , so nothing extraordinary. The service was good but the atmosphere was a bit too loud. Might try again on week night
I recently celebrated my 19th birthday here this past Saturday, and it was a party of 10. While the manager was a delight and very kind, I was quite disappointed with the service from our server. Her demeanor was less than satisfactory, and it felt like we were being rushed out, which was disheartening as we were just trying to enjoy our food and have a good time. It was especially hurtful since it was my birthday dinner with family and friends.
Textbook definition of American food. They got fried chicken, ribs, sandwiches, sliders, (not so healthy) salads, and rich desserts. You're here for something not so adventurous. Or, you just want to indulge something you grew up with. Not a bad spot. I can see service getting a bit slow when it's busy, but we had it fine. Food tasted exactly as expected. Portions were fine and the price was too.
very bad experience, I tried other chili’s in Bay area which is very good. Order chicken fries and mixed plate both are very salty and they gave past cup as well which is even more salty. Customer service also not good. When I check where can I sit. they told I can sit anywhere, later they told me some other place. Ordered red wine and they gave white wine. Ofcourse I told them to change.
We got the mozzarella sticks and it was the too salty me and my family was only able to eat one each

Dined in so we all got the big cups with handles. Once I finished my Diet Coke, I noticed a to-go cup lid crammed in my cup alongside the ice. We notified two servers who said they would look into it but they didn't. Everyone was confused. Concerning because it seems like the cup may have been used or something. Took a while before the manager said anything. No real answers just confusion. Comped our appetizer and the drink and gave us a large bag of chips to take home. Once we got the bill, the had not comped the appetizer. It took like 8 or 10 minutes to get a waiter's attention. It wasn't busy and they didn't seem understaffed. We could see employees casually chatting around tablets. Paid cash. The change came back wrong. Took a while to get anyone back for that. Got home and saw that the bottom half of the chip bag was soaked and disintegrating. Come on, guys. 2 stars since they did sOmething and for rest of the food being fine
Only place open past 9pm on a Sunday in this area besides fast food. Came on a late plane for a work trip and was hungry. Pleasantly surprised at how much I liked what I ordered. I got the salmon, they didn’t have broccoli so they subbed asparagus. I also asked for a salad instead of rice. The garden salad was huge and had cheese on it too. The asparagus were fresh and crunchy and had salt and other good seasonings on it. The salmon was juicy and cooked perfectly. Had a nice sear and the pesto was really good and not too overpowering. I felt full and healthy after eating it. My co worker got steak and he liked it but said it was more medium rare than medium. The server was very nice and adjusted the bill because they charged us extra for the asparagus by accident. … updating and reducing stars because the person I went with got food poisoning!!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a very very long time. I knew it wasn't going to be a great experience right off the bat as I let them know we were going to have a group of 9 and there was immediate attitude and almost an annoyance that they were having to help us. When they brought our drinks they were all set down in a pile with no explanation of which ones were which and despite asking and calling back to the employee for help we were ignored. That process of being ignored continued through the entire meal. Sauces were never brought, orders weren't correct, sodas sat empty even after multiple requests. We eventually had to get up and get our own Togo boxes. Our waiter walked by us numerous times and no matter how much we called out or tried to get his attention he just continued to ignore us. As did everyone else. At one point a member of our group was sitting with their hand raised for almost 5 minutes trying to get anyones attention. It wasn't a busy night and considering how many employees we counted being short staffed could not have been an issue.
TLDR: Non existent waitress makes for a bad post birthday dinner. This was the worst experience I have EVER had at a Chili's and I frequent the chain often and have been to this location several times in the past. My husband and I came here for dinner and to use the free birthday dessert offer (99.5% just came here for the dessert). The visit kind of started off bad due to a 10 minute wait with a largely empty restaurant but I can let that slide as they may not have had many wait staff on shift or whatever. This is when our extremely irritating saga begins... The hostess takes us to our table (2 person table with lots of larger ones available and clean) and leaves us with menus. We looked through them while waiting for our waitress and I noticed they no longer have mango chili chicken (this is the where the. 5% reason to go to Chili's came from). The Cilantro-Lime carne asada seemed like it could be a good substitute dish (I swapped the black beans for the fire roasted corn). My husband got the monster BBQ burger and fries. We also ordered a Watermelon Margarita, an unsweetened iced tea, and a glass of water. Wait number two begins....we receive the margarita within a few minutes and were expecting the other drinks to follow shortly after but nope. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen for a good 10 minutes and once she appeared she walked past our table several times but didn’t acknowledge our attempts to get her attention to inquire about drinks. Another 10 minutes pass and the food shows up, still no drinks. Finally our waitress comes to our table and she asks us if the food is okay. We said we didn't get drinks and changed the iced tea to water. She returned with the drinks fairly quick but that was the last time we saw her during our visit. Shortly before we finished our entrees, I grabbed the tablet they put on the tables hoping that I can use it to order dessert… nope. We finished eating, polished off our drinks, visit the bathroom to wash our hands, and wait around for our waitress so we can order dessert but she never appeared and no other staff members came past our table so after the additional 20+ minutes of waiting for our waitress, I got fed up, paid the bill, then left. The carne asada was cooked to the temperature I requested and would have been great if they didn’t smother it with the cilantro pesto as it is very overpowering. My husband enjoyed his burger and the fries came out hot and tasty. If the level of service came anywhere close to the quality of the food, it may have been a good visit. Message to Chili's: Get more wait staff instead of having the majority of your employees working the To-Go area.
