Toks Las Torres Reviews
Everything was delicious: barbacoa, consommé, quesadillas, and empanadas 🤤. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly... just arrive early because there's a line. P.S.: They don't accept cards, but they do accept bank transfers. I feel like many of the negative comments are from people who expect a proper restaurant, an established establishment, and a dedicated waiter for each family, when in reality, the tables are shared. We ended up sharing with a family who was quite rude to the waiters :(
The only problem with eating this barbecue is that none of it will taste good anymore and it will all seem pretty pointless.
Everything is perfect, the barbecue is delicious, and the service is unmatched. The barbecue quesadillas are amazing.
It's a true paradise for lovers of traditional barbacoa in Mexico City. Strategically located behind Costco Coapa, this place is known for offering authentic oven-baked barbacoa, slow-cooked in the Hidalgo style, giving it a tender texture and unparalleled flavor. The consommé is a must-try to whet your appetite: well-seasoned, with a touch of spice and just the right amount of fat to give it body. The barbacoa, served in tacos or by the kilo, is juicy and full of flavor, accompanied by freshly made tortillas and homemade salsas that give it the perfect touch. The red salsa is spicy and intense, while the green salsa is fresher, ideal for balancing the flavor of the meat. The place has a family-friendly, unpretentious atmosphere, with fast and friendly service. In addition to barbacoa, they also offer quesadillas, pancita, and nopales, completing the experience for those looking for a quality breakfast or typical Mexican meal.
Highly recommended: the barbacoa, the pancita, the consommé, the quesadillas, the café de olla, the variety of fresh waters—in general, everything is delicious. Consider arriving early so you can get everything you need and also avoid waiting for a seat, as they are shared tables. I think the service is very good; the waitresses are very quick and offer excellent service. 100% recommended.
Barbacoa with great traditional flavor 😋, relatively fast service, you have to arrive early because it gets busy, the consommé is flavorful, the barbacoa and pancita are some of the best in the area, the price is what you'd expect from barbacoa, but it's worth it for a Saturday or Sunday to take the family or friends for a good breakfast.
The consommé and barbacoa are delicious, but they also have tlacoyos with cheese and quesadillas. The value is excellent, and you can take home cheeses or artisanal products if you arrive early.
The barbacoa is very good, and so are the quesadillas. I give the ambiance a 3 because the tables are on the street and in a busy area. They also offer takeout.
Excellent value for money, the barbacoa tastes great. They also sell snacks like quelites quesadillas and fava bean tlacoyos for those who don't want to eat meat. Good service, although there are sometimes lines.
Delicious barbacoa, consommé, and quesadillas! Try the fig bread. They have Oaxaca cheese and panela to go! You can also get the fig bread to go! One of the best barbacoas I've ever had!
Yummy
Excellent for a delicious barbacoa, they also sell Mexican snacks (garnachas, insect quesadillas). They're currently located on the street, which improves space, reduces wait times, and makes getting in more organized. The service is trying to be faster. But I think they're understaffed.
It's a small place considering the number of visitors. However, the service is fast and the wait time isn't that long. You have to share tables, and the passageway to your spot is narrow. The barbacoa is good, not excellent. It gets top marks for its comprehensive and well-chosen menu. The quelites, mushroom, and huitlacoche quesadillas are excellent. They also offer bone marrow and blood sausage tacos, escamoles (in season), delicious tlacoyos, and fabulous carrot gelatins. It's worth returning to try the entire menu, not just the barbacoa.
The street-level barbecue has a special touch thanks to the flavor and quality of the ingredients. I wish they were a restaurant, but I still wouldn't miss them. The prices are fair; you should get there early. They have some other food items, as well as desserts and regional products to take home.
Personally, I think the barbecue and the products they offer are very good. However, the place is very small, and you have to wait in line to get in to eat. The organization is also poor; the waiters and assistants are constantly moving around and don't attend to you, or it takes much longer to order (while you're waiting for a waiter to take your order). They need to improve their organization and service, as this is something they definitely need to work on.
I can't recommend eating there. The service was excellent, but the reality is that you go expecting a delicious meal, and it doesn't taste good, or at least anything like good barbecue.
I think the rating of 3 is close to reality, the barbacoa and consommé are not that good, the portions of meat in the tacos seem small to me, we had to wait a bit to get in (a line of about 15 people) the place does not correspond to the photos, it is already on the street and on the one hand we went because we thought it was inside.
I'm not a big fan of barbacoa, unfortunately, and for that reason, I'm the worst person you could or should ask about the quality of that particular dish, haha. Although everyone else says it's very good. The quesadillas are very good, though. The service tries to be as fast as possible, although they should pay a little attention to their line because many times people skip the line and just sit down without saying anything. And that's obviously disrespectful to everyone in line.
I've been a customer for years and I'm disappointed every weekend!! It's unbelievable that they keep raising prices and the tacos are getting smaller and smaller, and the quesadillas just have a smear of stew on them!! Very bad
Unfortunately, we won't be returning. The experience offered is far from what one would expect from an establishment dedicated to traditional barbacoa. For those who have never tried quality barbacoa, it might be easy to give more than two stars... but for those who know the true essence of the dish, this offering is disappointing. The quantity-quality-price ratio is questionable: the tacos are alarmingly small, the salsas are poorly executed, the limes are almost juiceless, and the service, to top it all off, is complicated and inaccurate—they get orders wrong, get quantities wrong, or simply don't attend to requests. Honestly, it's hard to understand how this place maintains a constant flow of visitors.
