Cheba Hut Leander Reviews
I visited this Cheba Hut location this past weekend (8/10), and my experience was just as good the first time I had it in San Antonio. I’m not a smoker, but the energy in the establishment is my kind of vibe; calm and cozy. I will be back here for sure, over and over again. Kudos goes to the Thai Stick sandwich!
First time at a Cheba Hut and I really enjoyed my BLT sandwich! Fun vibe and atmosphere with a full bar and overall felt clean. There’s a combination of booth/low top/high top/bar seating and an outdoor seating area. Will definitely return to try some of their other unique menu offerings!
It is so cool inside Cheva Hut. I have only ordered it through a delivery app. On one side its where the magic happens for the sandwiches. On the other side there is a bar. It has one of those windows that go up so you can sit outside along the bar. There are a lot of games to play. They have tv's with sports on. We definitely want to go back and hangout.
Sat at the bar and had a Blood Orange Austin Eastcider and a KGB sandwich. Really good combo and the sandwich was da bomb. Really good!! Nice chill sandwich shop with a lot of TVs.
My husband & I love this place. The sandwiches are phenomenal, we did had a complication with our order (from our mistake) and PJ was such a great manager, his customer service was top tier
It was amazing as usual. I have visited the other Cheba hut toasted subs and I was so happy when I saw they were opening near my house. One of my favorite sandwich places that we love to visit. Today we decided to bring my in laws here too. My mom in law is a vegetarian like me. She was so excited about all the sandwich options. Let’s start with what we ate. My father in-law tried the Jamaican red which was grilled chicken with buffalo sauce. My mom in law tried the power plant. My husband had the Acapulco which is grilled chicken with barbecue sauce and I tried the Mushroom Magic. All the sandwiches were amazing. It was so good, tasty. We also surprised my mom in-law with a cookie and it was heaven. Amazing cookie with the right amount of sweetness. We will definitely be back here again.
I had never been to a Cheba Hut before and I wasn’t quite sure what it meant that there were “toasted” subs. Clearly upon entering the establishment I was a fish out of water. Having never smoked pot in my life, I wondered if perhaps everyone could tell I “didn’t belong.” But the girl at the register was perfectly pleasant to us, despite our lack of high. (It did seem that everyone working there was potentially on a high at the time.) I ordered the Apollo 13 (later reading the reviews and seeing that someone got food poisoning from it…. Wondering if I had sentenced myself to bathroom imprisonment for the night.) my fiancé ordered the KGB. The subs arrived without much wait (it was about 9:30pm and very few others there dining). The sandwiches were delicious. My Apollo 13 was particularly mouth-watering. Of course, I don’t know yet if I will have any emergency stomach explosions in the night. But so far so good.
LOVE CHEBA HUT! Amazing sandwiches, great service, and fun atmosphere. The munchies & the French onion soup are also delicious. Y’all definitely want to try this place out. We lived in AZ (where it originated) and have been waiting for Cheba Hut to come to TX!
A very creative menu, very delicious sandwiches, and a chill South Austin vibe in WilCo (if you're into that kind of thing). They also have a full bar and vegetarian options. So far we've only been a few times and have only tried a few sandwiches, however our New Years resolution is to try them All! #goals

We don't eat in very often, but we frequently order for delivery via Uber Eats because the store is far away from where we live. They might be the best sandwich in the Austin area. My personal favorite (and my wife's) is the Italian (called La Canna). Fantastic Italian sub. It's always consistent, great, high quality ingredients, i mean, it's one of my favorite places to eat in the entire area. can't say enough good things.
Sandwiches are really good and creative. Love having Kool-aid as a drink option too. And the rice crispy treats are gnarly. Best meal when you’ve got the munchies
Fell in love with Cheba Hunt while living in Phoenix. I was thrilled to know there was a location in my small Texas town. Our location did not disappoint! The food was great, staff were friendly. We've already gone back multiple times, including tonight.
I love a good sandwich, and thankfully, Cheba Hut gets me. The delicious bread is the foundation these handheld delights are built upon. I am favorable to “The Kind” with extra turkey. All the ingredients are fresh and lovingly placed. My wife loves the Kind salad- plenty of fresh greens. CH will be part of our favored rotation from here on out.
Favorite subs ever! super friendly staff, never had a bad sandwich from their or even a mess up on my order. The vibe in shop is probably my favorite thing about it, music is actually good, decorations go perfect, and food is the best!
Where to begin? The sandwiches are absolutely amazing…like no sandwich I’ve had before. This is definitely a must have if you haven’t tried. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The environment is great, a very chill spot. If you’re ever in the Leander area I would definitely recommend you stop by and again the staff is a totally amazing group of people

Cheba Hut has become my go to place for sandwiches. They have a huge selection and great tasting fresh ingredients. The people are cool and if you're dining in, the beer is cold.
Not only are the sandwiches great, the service is even better. They are so friendly. My sandwich was a tad spicy and he offered to remake it for me! I was just going to figure out a way to eat around it. It was my fault for not understanding what was on the sandwich. We will be back!!
Not gluten free friendly. My wife and daughter have celiac so they do not come with me. Salads are not a viable alternative in this day in age, just buy some bread at HEB if you must! This place has a towny bar type of feel on one side , and a Sandwich shop on the other. Food is fresh and it's kept tidy. The small things like restrooms maintained, garbage taken out and the car top is not just a dirty towel mixing around remnants of spilled beer. The prices are a little high, but candidly everything is now. The only place similar in terms of atmosphere is HopDoddy, with different selections Overall cool place if you want to watch a sporting event and have a drink. When the side patio is open on a beautiful spring day, it's great. Just know you'll end up bringing home Jimmy Johns for your GF family members..

I want to like this place. Every time I order a sandwich it seems to get worse. This time I got a $20 mustard sandwich. Asked for extra veggies… I got the equivalent of 2 tomato slices cut in half. And 1 pickle cut in half… yay. Tried to eat the sandwich, but I just couldn’t there was so much mustard ( and I love mustard!) huge disappointment. I’ve given multiple chances… not sure I will again.
This was my first visit. I like the fact they stay open late! We came on a Friday night around 10ish. We were greeted and helped when we had menu questions. To be a Friday night there was only a handful of people in the entire place. There is a bar onsite, great music for the vibe, games that you could play if you’re dining in or just waiting, which I thought was pretty cool. However, on my visit there were some things that just couldn’t be overlooked. For instance, I could not understand why the restaurant was so unclean. Everything needed attention—Trash bins, tables, sweeping, staff wearing gloves 😟. What really did it for me was when I stood at the pick-up counter to watch this young girl finish preparing my cheese bread. She proceeds to pick up a dirty knife with mayo & other food residue on it and cut my cheese bread, I stopped her and said “what is that on that knife” she said “I don’t know, would you like me to get another knife” ummm yesss!! Like what kind of foolishness. That’s why I started to limit my eating out lately cause people and food prep 🤢

I’ve tried this place a few times and the quality and consistency has varied quite a bit. Not sure if I’m just unlucky, visiting at the wrong time, or the workers making the sub are rushing through it. When it’s good, it’s good. When it’s not, well… it’s just poorly assembled with ingredients missing, unwanted ingredients in there, amount of ingredients being too little/too much, or the wrong sub entirely. I don’t think this is an issue with the concept or restaurant itself, but rather the workers assembling the subs. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, it could just be a new trainee or they’re overwhelmed and rushing to get orders out. Either way, the consistency is lacking. This seems to be a common issue among various sub restaurants as each worker sometimes deviates from the standard recipe and proportions. I still recommend trying Cheba Hut cause the menu items are really good. Hopefully they’re able to sort out the consistency issue.

The establishment dares to offer a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that is a veritable desert of dryness, for it lacks the very essence of what it claims to be: jelly. Nay, the bread was bone-dry, the peanut butter thick and cloying, and not a hint of that sweet, luscious jelly to be found. It was an affront to the very concept of PB&J! As if this culinary disaster wasn’t enough, the gentleman behind the counter delivered my order with a demeanor that could sour milk. His lackluster attitude was the rancid cherry atop this tragic cake. But back to the jelly—or rather, the tragic lack thereof. This sandwich was a culinary mirage, a promise of sustenance that dissolved into dust. An absolute disgrace. If you fancy a mouthful of disappointment, by all means, venture here. Otherwise, steer clear and save yourself the sorrow.
