Garcia's Lockhart Reviews
Been going to Garcia's for roughly 30 years, and the food is always very good, and in my personal opinion, Garcia's is the very best Mexican food restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of eating at, the food is excellent, and the service is extremely quick, and our servers have always been polite. Highly recommend Garcia's for authentic Mexican food!
We ate an early diner to find this location with plenty of seating, quiet and very pleasant. The food was good and the wait staff was friendly.
Awesome food. We go here regularly.
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was prepared rapidly and had great taste. We enjoyed it very much that we returned a second time. We will continue to go to Garcia's.
Had a very nice dinner tonight with my Dad and Sis I had chicken fried steak which was good but it is a Mexican restaurant. There specialty is Mexican food..However it did pass..Waitress Julissa was 5 stars she was so nice and very attentive..Shout outs to Julissa..Gonna most definitely return..
The food was fantastic, and the portion size was large. The atmosphere was very calming, no loud customers. Our waitress was perfect, she showed us just enough attention but not so much we felt uncomfortable. The surroundings were fresh and clean and updated. Their prices are very resonable. We will definitely be returning.
They stay pretty busy, so you may have to be a little patient. I recommend their chicken tortilla soup, it's delicious. I've also had their enchiladas, taco salad, menudo, quesadillas, fajita tacos, and chicken fried steak. I would definitely order all of those items again. The waitresses are friendly, but they stay fairly busy with their tables.
$34.04 take out for two included chips and queso and one drink. Large Homemade tortillas and the tostada appeared homemade. Not Greesy, short wait, and fresh food. Plan on going back to try their breakfast. I was worried at first cause it didnt seem as busy as the other Mexican resturants nearby but I think its cause they dont serve alcohol yet.
Average Tex mex. I wouldn’t recommend it. Food was just ok. Flavorless. They charge for extra tortillas too. So if you love your extra tortillas, you’ll have to pay per tortilla lol. First time here. And won’t be back. And yes, they don’t serve alcohol. La Cantera or Jalisco has better food, drinks and more authentic.
It was Not TexMex and was just ok. Service was pretty good, price was normal. No alcohol is served.
Always a mediocre visit. The food is ok, the service is ok, the atmosphere is sparse but not run down or dirty. We had to ask for drink (ice tea) refills but they did keep the chips and salsa going. It's where we go when we're tired of all the other local options and give it another chance. You won't have a bad meal and definitely an option when you don't feel like cooking. We tend to go there once or twice every year or two just for something a little different.
It’s very bland and not that great especially the queso. It takes like someone just melted a block of velveeta. I’m sorry. The people are very friendly and it seems very clean but the food is ehh.
Had not been here in awhile. Food quality is not as good as it was a few years ago. The Salsa does not have the same ingredients it use to have not even a bit spicy. My Spinach ,Artichoke Enchiladas were Ok on the small side. The White Cheese sauce was abundant but my first taste reminded me of Macaroni and Cheese sauce all I needed was some Elbow Noodles and I am set. The sauce was good thou. My wife's dish was a bit small on the servings. The crunchy Taco was infused with the Enchilada messy job. The food seemed to be lacking spices. Waitress never refill my drink. Sad... I did notice she filled a glass for a customer next to us. We were not too thrilled. Nothing to convince us to come back here!
They are the only Garcias that will not let me bring in new bottle of water. Bottled water is on menu, but that never have it. Chips are charged even if I am still eating at 11:00am. Chips don’t come with meal if you order the meal before 11:00am. No substitutions. Extra charge for anything even though I did not get the offered meat nor tortillas. Garcias in Kyle and Sequin are good.
Owner was very unprofessional because I requested a different server. The server had not paid attention to our table and was busy talking. I had to call the manager over because our table was being overlooked. When the manager came to our table, that’s when the server decided to come too. It was at this point that I requested to have someone else wait on us. Manager handled the situation fine but the server went and pulled the owner out of the back. Owner had no interest in hearing what I had to say. She was angry and defensive, stated we don’t have to eat there so we left.
I had high hopes when ordering the menudo, but unfortunately, it did not meet even the most basic expectations. The broth was unusually pale and lacked the rich, reddish hue typically associated with a well-made menudo. Visually, it was unappealing — and the taste reflected the same. There was little to no flavor; the seasoning was minimal to nonexistent, and the dish as a whole felt unfinished. The tripe was tender, which I appreciated, but without any depth of flavor in the broth, it didn’t come together as it should. Menudo is a dish that should be comforting, bold, and satisfying — this was none of those things. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe honest feedback helps maintain quality. I hope improvements are made, because the potential is there, but this version missed the mark entirely.
Worst tortilla soup I’ve ever had!!! It was very salty and I guess I probably got what was left over in the pot because there was very little chicken, no cheese at all and looks like they may have mixed in about a teaspoon of guacamole, and filled the cup half way with rice and no pico...it was a to go order, my friend picked it up for me because I am under the weather I was hoping that would of hit the spot the only thing it hit was the kitchen sink…and I gave it a one star ⭐️ only because I had to
Yikes. Unwilling to substitute corn for flour & we had someone in our party that is sensitive to gluten. The manager who came over to let us know our order was cancelled said “we just don’t do it.” We were surprised as other Garcia’s locations mentioned in the menu always serve us without any issue but we’re told they’re different companies and won’t do it at the Lockhart location. Over complicated for mediocre food. Suggest trying Henry’s instead of this place for fajitas, quesadillas, and tacos.
