Family owned and operated! We stopped on a road trip at an off time. Had a lovely conversation with the owner and. The few patrons were also very friendly. We had migs and chalupa. Megs were 5star. Chalupa were fresh and very crisp tortilla. We recommend this smal, clean and very friendly establishment
I went today for my first time and the service and food was great! The owner and server were very nice and I will definitely be coming back.
Brkfst was great. They had 2 waitresses and there was only 1 table occupied. One waitress took our order. We ordered coffee n tea neither waitress came to see if we needed refills. They were both on thier cell phones. We had to get thier attention to get refills.
Local to this small town, and honestly. This spot is Truly a local Favorite. Amazing food, Great prices and home-style cooking Tex-Mex & American good. My Parents and My very own #1 favorite spot for Breakfast in town. Huevos Ranchero, homestyle Pancakes, Tacos, Omelettes, ect. Recommend to anyone who wants Great quality and full-flavored food at a relatively cheap price.
For being tucked away I was very pleasantly surprised. Great breakfast tacos, good pricing, and wonderful service. I'm definitely making it a regular stop.
The Migas were great! Fresh homemade tortillas topped of a great tasting meal. Gonna go there again before leaving for my next assignment.
I love Lockhart Cafe! Friendly staff, delicious food, my boyfriend and I come here every Saturday to enjoy his favorite loaded breakfast burrito, and for me either the quesadillas or a good bacon cheeseburger! Thank you Lockhart Cafe for the great food and being a part of me and Patrick's weekly routine 🌯🍔🍴😊😆
Great food and coffee. Definitely would make this a sweet spot to come back to to grab breakfast. They have amazing hot breakfast tacos and salsa.

Each bite is a journey through savory goodness, perfectly complemented by the welcoming ambiance that defines this local favorite. Whether you're in the mood for a Tex-Mex twist or a classic American delight, Lockhart Cafe stands as a versatile and satisfying choice for those seeking comfort on a plate. 🍽️🤠
Nice place to come and eat. I've only ever ate here for breakfast and breakfast is delicious. I would like bigger portions but overall very satisfied with this place.
This is the only place I order barbacoa tacos from now. I've tried other places and it's just not right but this place 😍 is so good. Every time I get them I'm never disappointed also the hot sauces are pretty good. I definitely recommend the green with the barbacoa !!
For a little hole in the wall place food was good. Prices are reasonable and the waitress was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. If looking for some good home cooking that is the place to go.
5 star small town, dive spot. Nothing fancy by any means but it’s exactly what you’d expect. French toast, eggs, and bacon just as good as you’d make at home but served up hot and fresh, plus no dishes for you to do and less than $11 before tip! Bar seating was not comfy, knees knock right into it because there’s no true ledge but I was eating alone and didn’t want to take up a table. Perfect for a quick bite of home style food as I passed through town. I would go again!

We came here on a Sunday morning around 9:30, my husband, myself and our two kids. It was kind of dead and we were hesitant but the reviews seemed okay so we stopped here. It was nice and quiet inside which I appreciated because the kids are always a lot and sometimes loud TV’s or music can be overwhelming. The place was clean. Definitely felt local, kind of like a hole in the wall place. Not chain restaurant vibes. Mia was our waitress. She was polite, attentive, and got everything we asked for right. We asked for an extra plate, extra creamer, extra butter and I substituted breakfast potatoes for my eggs and she nailed it. They don’t have a kids menu but we split the pancake plate between our 2 and 5 year old and it was perfect. The portions were generate and the pricing was great. Most of the plates were between $8 and $11 but some were actually less than $8. $40 total for 4 people is pretty good and we all got drinks too. We will definitely make this a staple for our Sunday morning breakfast choices.
Pleasant surprise for breakfast! Homemade corn and flour tortillas! Great coffee, pleasant wait staff. I had the chicharron breakfast and it was great! Good prices and I highly recommend it!!
It was a slow morning, but we enjoyed the food. Friendly and great decor. Their menu will change in a few weeks, they said. We shall see in a few weeks what they added
Great food and great service! The nopales were delicious!
This place is a hidden gem! The menu is extensive for such a small Cafe, but the food speaks volumes. Family owned, this place is run correctly and tended to with love. You MUST try the Menudo. It's spicy and delicious and not greasy at all. The homemade corn tortillas were just the right side for it. It was a great portion packed with meat and hominy. You have to try this place.
Homemade flour tortillas makes a big difference here good breakfast. Even the corn tortillas are homemade.. yummy
I've been here twice for breakfast, and it was great both times. The food was good, and the servers are very friendly. Looks like a place where the locals hang out. Next time I need to try their lunch menu
We were highly recommended to this restaurant & it was worth it! We ordered floured tortilla taco's which were very, very good! The tea was the bomb!! Sorry Mr Taco but this restaurant, their food & prices beat y'all hands down! This is going to be our new favorite place to eat out. Keep up the good work!

Breakfast was good. The waitress was very nice. I liked the building and the dining area. A really rude customer came in while I was eating, but the waitress managed him well, so no problem.
The food was very good. Service was great. Nice little place in Lockhart. Don't let the exterior fool you, or was very charming inside. Serves Mexican, seafood,Italian, and American food. Breakfast served all day too. ,
This was where i tried nopales for the first time. We came here for breakfast and i tried nopales with scrambled eggs. It was actually good for a first. Nothing fancy just a regular eatery for the locals. I like it because its very laidback. But maybe they can do some upgrades.
It's a nice little small town Cafe. The food is good. Not spectacular but good. The prices are nice. The waitress is named Elvira and the old men sit in there and gripe about the government. You know, a small Texas town Cafe.
Breakfast here for the first time on 8/11/21. Clean and friendly. Lots of options from the menu. I chose coffee with the biscuit and gravy plate. Warm, soft biscuit with two eggs, fried potatoes and bacon. Wife had the waffle plate. Good food and at a reasonable price. Not a big cafe but cozy and relaxed. Open only for breakfast and lunch. Met the owners, Eduardo and Meena Rodriguez. Eduardo is a US Navy vet and graduate from Park University. Waitress was Lupita, and she took good care of our breakfast needs. Definitely worth a return trip. Maybe lunch next time.
What a cute little Cafe! Warm friendly environment. Food was yummy, served warmed and to my liking. Staff was friendly. A hidden gem of a place. Will definitely come here again
Party of five. Average or better food and service. Facilities very dated.

Great tacos! Took a while to get food, but my friend got a pork chop for breakfast so it took a lil longer...great hot sauce.
Breakfast was pretty bland. Service was nice. Loaded omelette was pretty decent except it was covered in oil, but fillings were good and they didn't skimp out on them. French toast was alright. Pancake and scrambled eggs were good. Breakfast tacos were alright, also kind of bland, salsa didnt add much flavor.
First visit and it’s wonderful! Food is delicious, coffee is hot, service is great. Elvira is a gem - while I was eating I noticed she was actually taking the time to help another elderly patron with his silverware to help him eat: what a sweet, caring thing to do. My only criticism is that it is far too cold in the restaurant, and if it’s too cold for a customer in warm pajamas, it’s definitely too cold for employees in their work clothes. Please consider getting the heater looked at, because it’s very sad to see such a sweet woman shivering while she works.

I got a breakfast plate, a barbacoa taco and a coffee. The eggs and bacon were the typical stuff cooked just right. The hash browns were cheap little grease pads, but a lot this patty style are, so I knew it was a possibility. The coffee and barbacoa were perfect! Wish the taco would have been thicker, as it was gone in like 3 bites. But, those were some delicious bites. I probably wouldn’t eat here again, only because of the price and quantity. After the average tip, this meal was about $20 total. For that, I like being full… maybe even have some leftovers. But, not with this, left hungry. The lady working was super nice, sorry forgot her name. I sat outside because inside seemed like a locals senior hangout. Which is cute (and maybe explains the pricing?) but outside was nice and quiet.

Not impressed. Our food was cold when it got to us. My Boyfriend ordered what he thought was fried chicken when actually it was chicken fried chicken. I was also disappointed that for the price I got frozen French fries not Handcut fresh ones.
Ordered the biscuit and gravy plate. The single biscuit was half baked/ semi poached with the watery tasteless gravy canned biscuit. Standard scrambled egg, bacon (2) or sausage patty (1). Hash browns were breakfast potatoes with the skin still on and over cooked where it just peeled off. Unpleasant and small portions, left still hungry. Staff was inattentive too busy discussing when they were going to leave and if they were walking home.
Cheap and friendly, but the food was pretty bad. Got the huevos rancheros, and the eggs were barely cooked and gooey, the hash browns were COLD, the beans were obviously from a can and also lukewarm and the salsa was flavorless. The tortillas were good. And the water. Don't know what I was expecting when I saw the sorry state of the bathroom and the paper plates and paper towel rolls in lieu of actual table ware, but took a gamble anyway and lost. I'll be skipping this place next time I'm in town.
We got there and we're seated at a small table, clearly marked as a workstation near the front door and away from the other tables. There were other available tables, so I don't understand why. Anyway, my wife ordered beef fajitas and she was served sauteed beef with a couple of slices of onion and pepper. She asked and was told that they were out of fajitas. My migas were run of the mill and my kid's pancake was over cooked enough the pancake was difficult to cut.

Bought Carne Guisada plate with eggs, barbacoa plate, barbacoa was ok, carne quisada plate was not...potatoes in both plates were old n dry very hard to chew no flavor, beans were cold, only thing made fresh in my plate was the eggs. Will never be returning. Wasted $25
I ordered the chicken fried steak and it tasted like it had came out of a frozen food box, only sides that were available was fries and salad.
Service was poor. We were two strangers driving through and they did not care. People who arrived AFTER we did were served before we were. Our food was cold and less appealing. I had asked for a sample and it was gladly provided. So I was hopeful. Sadly we were not provided the same service as local patrons. Will NEVER stop again and will make sure other people are aware of this poor service.
The place is very rundown service is a bunch of kids who eat don’t wash their hands and then go grab your food and serve it to you. The food is very cheap and very bland. I don’t know why this place is open.
Fix the carne guisada I dumped the meat out and I still couldn't eat the tortilla it still had the nastiness on it.. the chorizo wasn't cooked nearly enough.. i got it with potatoes... But the Chicharron and bean was good.
Terrible service and I've never had a pork chop this bad. A man who seemed like the owner or manager tried to make up for the bad service a couple of times during the visit but he wasn't really paying much attention either. I ordered Pork chop a la mexicana with eggs and my husband ordered Migas a la mexicana ... His came with jalapeno and sauted vegis, mine didn't and was so dry and tough ...inedible actually, my over easy eggs were cooked solid and the waitress never brought chips and salsa to our table (the manager guy finally did mid meal) never refilled our drinks, brought one tortilla when both meals came with tortillas,.... Terrible .... Do yourself a favor and go to Mr.Taco when in Lockhart, the service is far better.
Food was not that great ask for wheat bread got white. Eggs over medium more like easy . Service was quick but I was the only one eating at the time. More customers showed up only 1 waitress. Would not recommend this place.
Twice I have waited for service when it was slow (9:30am on Friday) so breakfast rush was over. The same waitress was talking while I was waiting for a drink I ordered 5 minutes earlier. Twice now I have walked out due to the same waitress. Owner is great, older waitress never smiles, seems indifferent. Probably a good person, but has no business being in any kind of service industry.
We walked in with our family of four for the first time and were not greeted....we sat ourselves and a very rude elderly lady barked that she would be with us in a second. All the other tables got smiles and we got scowls. When she finally came over to the table I asked if we could put in an order of fries for my toddler....since he was already getting restless.... And she said the fries would come out the same time as our food and there was no way to get them earlier. We walked out because we felt so confused and mistreated. Do not eat here!!!!.. Unless you want to be as disappointed as we were.
I was unimpressed with this place. It felt dirty, the service was terrible, and the food didn't even fill us up and was not very good. There was only 1 other couple there and our waitress was almost nonexistent, and never even smiled at us. The atmosphere is depressing, and the food was totally okay at best. It seemed like the cook didn't put any care into its preparation. We won't be back.
I'm not gonna lie I used to eat here all the time and would usually get the chicken fajita burrito and it would be huge for 9 dollars but now I get something this small for more than 11 dollars. I spent 14.50 total 2.50 for Mexican coke which is fine with me but 12 dollars for this? Come on shrinkflation is so real. I'm sorry but I'd hate to pay for something this small. I might as well buy myself the big flour tortillas at heb for 4 dollars and get the rest of myself. I'm disappointed but it is what it is
I want to thank Lockhart café for my bean and bacon taco, but I would of order extra bacon if I knew my taco can with 1/4 strip of bacon. For future ordering customers you might want to ask for extra bacon on your tacos.

The Chimichanga was super small with no flavor and seamed to have a meat shortage. Mashed potatoes tasted like if they were dehydrated and I know for a fact that the Chicken Fried Steak was a frozen Patty the size of a hockey puck. Pancakes weren't too bad. Best thing we had was a Pepsi. We were also reminded hat they were closing in a few minutes. Dont recommend
