Bonello's Lomita Reviews
We bought a large jalapeño pepperoni pizza and a pesto margarita pizza. Both were delicious! The service is slow but worth the wait. There is limited space to eat inside, but there is a charming outdoor space in front. Ingredients taste fresh, and the pizzas have tons of flavor. I highly recommend this Bonello's. By the way, the BBQ chicken pizza is also amazing!
The pizza is excellent! Everything smells great, I tell myself, "Let's try something different," but I always get the pizza. I have low self-control when it comes to pizza. Having worked in an Italian restaurant for years during college, I can say with some authority that this food is way better than anything I made, and I worked at a pretty good restaurant.
Great place! Authentic New York style pizza. The owner actually fed me free cheese tortellini while I was waiting for my take out! Who does that?! Prices are moderate, there's free parking on both sides of the street. Friendly atmosphere, cozy family style booths, some outdoor tables.
Great pizza! I have a hard time saying whether it's the sauce or the crust that appeals to me the most, but combined it makes for my favorite pizza. Limited seating, but that's never been a problem the evenings I have been in, most of their business appears to be take out or delivery. Owners and staff couldn't be any friendlier or eager to please, made me feel like family from day one.
We finally found a great pizza spot! The pizza is truly ny style and absolutely delicious. The chicken soup is also amazing. The price very reasonable. We got a large pizza (20 in) for $21 and some change. This is our pizza go-to place from now on.
Best Italian restaurant in harbor city. I'm from Queens New York and I've been looking for an authentic Italian restaurant like back home and I've finally found it. Amazing pizza, great service and the owners are so friendly and welcoming. It's Amazing! Will definitely be coming here often.
Great food! I love me some NY style pizza!
This is the real deal. Owner comes to greet each table and make sure food is top notch. Roasted garlic cloves spread all over pizza. Garlic knots were divine. Wonderful customer service. Most def will be back
I was on my way to a bbq place and saw this joint and I just pulled over. Something told me this was the place. I took two bites of my torpedo and had to write a quick review. Tied for best torpedo I've ever had. Staff was great , Tony was very friendly and I am going to be a new regular. Top notch. I'm glad I listened to the angel on my shoulder that said " pull over that's the place you're looking for"
They make their meatballs and it's obvious because they are good and they are large. A 3 meatball sub sounded small, but was easily sufficient for two people. The bread was DELIGHTFUL ! All the things that are so seldom together - lightly crunchy, completely crunchy but no spot was at all hard - fluffy without being too light - and the bread had a good "tooth" too. That ever so slightly chewy for a second before melting away. I added garlic and a bit of salt at the table, but just because the meatballs were mild, doesn't mean they weren't GREAT. It was my mood, not their quality. The fact that they worked extremely well with seasoning at the table speaks to high quality if you think about that for just a second or two. We'll be back to check out a lot more of the menu !
Closest to NY pizza in LA you will get. The owners are so nice and I have never had anything wrong with an order and I can’t count how many times I have ate here. 🤌🤌😋
This is the place to have an Italian dinner. It reminds me of home in Grandma's kitchen. The food is beyond delicious! Grab a slice of pizza or some Eggplant Parm or anything else on the menu. For dessert you gotta try the cannolis, they are THE BEST! They taste just like the cannolis on Mulberry Street in New York! Come on over and satisfy your taste buds! A forever customer! Danny
Not a bad pizza! Got the New York style Margarita Pizza, and it came with roasted garlic, olives, fresh tomato, basil, and cheese. The large is huge, and I love the thin crust. The edges are huge, so it would be good with some sort of dip, but I'm not a fan of crusts I'm general. It was about $30, so a little pricier, but the portion and quality of ingredients are good. There's easy parking across the street, but then you have to jaywalk. The lady answering the phone/managing the front seemed to have issues with the tech, but she was sweet. Overall, I might come back, but maybe only as a treat once in a long while.
Born and raised in the south bay and been looking for a decent pizza place all my life. Wow Finally found after 50 years. Excellent Pizza!
Super large portions… great crust. Got a small and it was 16 INCHES!!! Would recommend for anyone looking for a filling meal.
Ordered 2 slices and was very surprised by what I got! Basically 4 slices, super flavorful and perfect in terms of crispiness. The cheese was also perfectly balanced. Man at the front was extremely nice as well, would definitely recommend!
I think about the New York cheese pizza every day! Definitely my family’s favorite pizza joint! It’s so freaking good! Large New York cheese pizza Large Deep dish pepperoni pizza Update 6/7/24 Still the best pizza in Torrence! Large NY cheese pizza and one slice of Pepperoni, deep dish pizza is the way to go!
Amazing pizza!! Happened upon this place by accident and was not disappointed. The lady behind the counter even brought out a slice of pizza my wife was thinking of trying and gave it to her! Thanks for the amazing service! Hopefully we will be back on our next trip from AZ.
I love this place! My favorite is the lunch special with a huge slice of bbq chicken pizza and the side salad. If it is unavailable as a slice that day, I order it as a "pizza sub" as seen in this picture. The pizzas are delicious and freshly made with love. All the employees are always nice to me.
This is the best pizza in the area! No question. It has a Charm of the old country. Everything is good and reasonably priced. The staff is super nice. Y’all got to come here. Hot fresh pizza.
Best pizza in the area if you’re a NY style type 👍🏻🙌🏻 i used to go once a week, love the place, real mom & pop family vibe.
Everything came out hot and fresh, the spaghetti and meatballs was the best I'd had, the garlic knots melted in your mouth, complimented with marinara sauce and the pizza was huge and delicious.
This is an amazing restaurant if you like authentic New York pizza. Made a reservation for my little brothers’ Bday celebration, which turned out great. Food was delicious, customer service was at its best, and restaurant is just so cozy and beautiful. Also, they had great combos for big groups of people which was inexpensive. Overall, it was just an awesome experience and I’ll be returning back to eat here. Food and the Pizza is to die for!
One of the best pizzas in the Southbay. Stop by and say Hi to Tony. I've been going to this location for over 20 years some of the items and even the location has moved a few shops down over the years but the pizza is still one of the best around!

After moving from New York, I could never find a taste of original New York’s pizza. Bonello’s has it! The meatball sandwich and Philly steak hero are to die for. and all for the low price, you couldn’t even find before inflation. Jennifer – the owner, keeps the place clean and authentic.Team members are very cordial and pleasant.
My usual: a "small" plain (sauce & cheese) pizza to go. The 16" pie weighed 24 ounces! Perfect crust with just the right amount of chew. Taste: excellent.
We’ve been loyal Bonello’s customers for the past ten years — ever since we moved from New Jersey and started our hunt for real New York pizza in the South Bay. Bonello’s is the only place that truly delivers on that promise. The pizza is legit, the food is consistently delicious, and the service is always friendly and reliable. They get busy (because they’re that good), but the team works hard to take care of everyone — whether we’re picking up a quick dinner or planning a larger gathering. Their catering service is top notch. Everything is prepared perfectly, and our guests are always impressed. I’ve recommended Bonello’s to just about everyone I know, and no one’s ever been disappointed. If you’re serious about great pizza, Bonello’s is the only choice in the South Bay.
Came with my family and had a nice dinner. Little wait time. Food was hot and fresh. Definitely recommend.
First time there and the place was clean and friendly staff. The pizza sub with pepperoni with a can soda$10. Great place, good food and great deal!

The style of the restaurant is cute, small and homely. I did have to wait quite a while for my pizza, though. But it was understandable when it came out very hot and steamy. The price did change from the menu and I was charged more, which wasn't a very pleasant surprise. Then again, the medium pizza was huge, freshly made, and delicious.
This pizza is pretty phenomenal. My favorite food is pizza and I have eaten in over 50 pizza places in my time. Via 313 was hands down my favorite and I can't wait to go back. The pizza has just the right amount of sauce, cheese and pepperoni to leave you wanting more after the last slice. I was a little nervous about the wait time but it was well worth the wait. If you haven't tried this place you have to stop by and order two pizzas.
Passed by Bonello’s for years. Finally stoped in to try their pizza. Lunch special 1 slice + salad + soda. 1 slice is 1/4 of a very large pizza. Pizza was decent, good enough that I’ll come back when I want a single slice. Not many shingle slice places. Salad was much better than expected: included carrots, cauliflower and more I don’t recall. Definitely a place for a quick pizza lunch.
We ordered the small pepperoni pizza with a salad and two soda's. No fountain soda only cans with small cup of ice when asked. The pizza was larger than we expected, so we had leftovers. The pizza was good, but a little oily. There was no crowd so we were seated quickly. We sat outside as it was great weather.
New Yorker in dire need of NY style pizza, was not disappointed. Crust was perfect, sauce and cheese delicious and not salty or canned tasting. Also had their sausage and pepper hero, which was also a highlight. Only strange thing was seeing garlic bread slices on top of the pie. Not used to that, but otherwise, great pizzeria in the area for a NY pizza.
First off the pizza is actually very good and came out piping hot and just as we ordered [NY style, half cheese and half pepperoni]. However this place smells like an ashtray which is not the most appetizing odor.
Very good NY style Pizza. They have a hot oven and their pie is very crispy but not too much. Their flavor profile is just right. Not too much in any direction without being too bland. 4 star. Well done Bonello's!

The pizza isn't as good as the other Bonello branches, but stil respectable. The pizza bread wasn't fluffy nor crunchy (ie somewhat watery and flaccid even when reheated), and the toppings seem to slide off the bread. The garlic knots are 1/10 since it was hardened dough and had no flavor even when it was reheated in the oven. Service was great though.
The first time I had pizza there, it was tasty and fresh. The second time it was not tasty at all. Maybe a different cook..or they may have been out of ingredients. I would go back if they provide the same fresh tasty pizzas. :(

The staff seemed really friendly and their portions are good. (Not sure if they upgraded our medium pizza to a large) When we brought our pizza and wings home, the crust and cheese were pretty disappointing. I liked that they had a thin crust, but there was no chew and everything generally lacked flavor.
We used to go to another Bonello's place. We opted to go here as it is nearer our home but we are so disappointed, We ordered ahead of time and we were asked to come by to pick up our order in 35 minutes. We showed up after 25 minutes. We were told we were early so we waited, we waited for another 25 minutes. We we shocked when finally our order of medium size is in a large box. When we opened the pizza was 3x thinner than we used to received from the other place but this pizza is quite large. Because the dough is so thin, it tasted very very salty.
Tried to order a pizza for some friends and I on a Tuesday night, the woman on the phone was extremely rude whilst taking my order. Very unnecessarily sarcastic while I trying to go out of my way to support a small business. The pizza that arrived was extremely dry, lacked the flair i was hoping for from a New York style dish. Maybe in the future they will fly in some people from New York who will be able to accomplish the experience I was hoping for. All in all severely dissatisfied.
First time and last time buying pizza from this place. I ordered a large pizza and then I find out small specs of hair in the pizza, I reported this to the management they tried every possible way to cover up by trying to offer 5% discounton the next order. When I tried to confront this with the manager the cashier was rude and totally disrespectful and didn’t report this. Called the next day the manager still tried to claim that it’s not how they make pizza and hang up the phone on me.
