I was searching for real croissants for breakfast and came across this bakery/cafe. Ordered croissants and scones via Doordash. They arrived at my doorstep hot, HOT can you believe that!? Crispy and buttery, like a real croissant should be. I rarely give five stars but they deserve it. I'm so happy to say this is my neighborhood bakery 🥯🧁

Having a child with allergies is not easy! However, The Trim Tart saved the day by baking a special dairy and egg free cake for my sweet girls 3rd birthday. Their prices are extremely affordable. The cakes are delicious, and the customer service is top notch! Seeing my daughter eat cake for the first time, was actually pretty emotional. I had shared my concern with Marcy when placing my order in regards to my daughters severe allergies and she made sure that she and the rest of the staff, did absolutely everything possible to ensure that my daughter can enjoy her cake without any risks. The precautions they took, the excitement they also shared to know that my daughter could finally enjoy cake, meant absolutely everything!! I wish I would’ve found this bakery sooner!! To all my mamas who are afraid to introduce allergens especially for a 1st bday, I highly recommend The Trim Tart. (Side note: I received a quote elsewhere for this exact cake for $250. However at TrimTart, I was able to get this cake and amazing customer service for under $50.) Thank you ladies for being absolutely amazing!!!

With a mix of severe food allergies and irritating intolerances among our family I was on the hunt for a gluten free, soy free, tree nut free, and taste filled chocolate cake for our daughter's birthday. The Trim Tart said no problem and served up this delicious and tall chocolate caramel filled tower of taste. It was a hit with everyone and we will definitely be back to try more of the wonderful creations. Contacting the shop online was easy and was followed up a day or two later with a call to go over all the options, pricing, and pick up time. Cake was ready on time and as mentioned, excellent. Looking forward to more visits and trying the other things on offer.

Lovely little spot for a coffee and a snack in Lomita! Bright and clean and quiet. I had a couple business calls I needed to take and I was passing through - so glad I stopped here! The tres leches latte was lovely. The croissant bread pudding was so good! I liked it so much I ordered a tart and a guava creme pastry to go for my wife for Women’s Day! She loved it too. The owner, Stephanie, is also wonderful and showed me pictures of their cakes - epic! And with vegan and gluten free options too! Hidden gem. Check it out!

Love to have another cute and delish cafe in the neighborhood!!!😍 I’m a big fan of intelligentsia coffee, so I’m super excited that I can get their beans in person at somewhere nearby. Also Trim Tart has the best scones in the city!!!! I’ve been looking for the certain scone style - which is not too greasy and crispy on the outside but soft inside. Not gonna lie, I’ve been to at least 10 places that serve scones around LA, and I can tell you this place is the best aghhhh I’m so happy to find them😍

I have been a loyal of this local bakery for a few years now. The owner/pastry chef makes pastries that not only TASTE incredible, but are made with ingredients that are honestly as good /healthy for us as pastries can ever get!! I used to walk my dog here almost daily to get my regular dosage of her AMAZING chocolate chip cookies. WARNING: once you have one of her chocolate chip cookies you may not want one from anywhere else again. 😆 Recently and newly diagnosed with celiac disease, I am a newbie in this gluten-free world (and slightly depressed), so you can imagine my excitement when I googled "gluten free pastries" and Cara Mia popped up!! I had totally forgotten that her specialty is making these tasty treats gluten free and/or vegan!! While I could not get my previous favorites, I took the owners recommendations for gluten-free treats, as well as a couple others for my better half (who's also a giant kid at heart lol) and well, you can see his reaction. Orange herb cake - GLUTEN FREE, extremely MOIST and just a perfect balance between richness, sweetness, and indulgence, matched with light fruit flavors to balance it out. Cookies and cream cupcake - we have yet to dive in, but I feel good getting this for my partner bc I'm SURE the ingredients are much better than the processed Oreos he inhales... lol. Marshmallow brownie - GLUTEN FREE and yet does not taste "healthy" in any way lol. The dark chocolate balances out the marshmallows and the crunch of each bite completes me. Pop tart - Ok, this is not good enough for you but I had to take a bite of this. Totally worth whatever flare-ups I'll get... this is probably my #1 recommendation!!!! Thanks Cara Mia, for brightening up my day with gluten free options to let me know it's not the end of my culinary world. Haha. ❤️

Cara Mia (formerly The Trim Tart) is the absolute best!!! I am a huge cake-lover, so when I was looking for a cake to serve at my wedding I knew it had to be excellent. Better than your average wedding cake. I wound up tasting a whopping 29 cakes from various bakeries around the LA/South Bay area and the second I tried the cakes from Cara Mia I knew this was it. All of the flavors were so fresh and unique. The sponges were moist and the frosting was light and fluffy - and all of it was perfectly sweet. Not too much and not too little. We settled on serving 3 flavors - Carrot, Strawberry (vegan) and Chocolate Hazelnut. We got so many compliments from our guests on all of the flavors but the carrot seemed to be the stand out. Stephanie was also so sweet throughout the entire process and so easy to work with! I was worried I ordered too much cake (I got ~125 slices for a 110 person wedding) but nearly all of the cake was eaten. Such a hit! Thank you so much to Stephanie & team for a wedding cake of my dreams!

Small lowkey coffee shop and bakery off Lomita Blvd. Love the staff and pastries they're cranking out here. The Tres Leches Latte was delicious and the Bourbon Glazed Bread Pudding was AMAZING! Reasonably priced for both of them! And the service was great and fast, definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

As a mom of a soon-to-be four-year-old with severe dairy, egg, and tree nut allergies (which cause anaphylaxis), finding quality vegan bakery items has been incredibly challenging. We’ve tried vegan offerings from bakeries all over San Diego, Orange County, and LA, but none have come close to the quality of this bakery. Although they aren’t an entirely vegan bakery, they offer vegan options such as cookies and cakes — and they are truly the best we’ve ever had. The staff is extremely helpful and genuinely wants to make sure you get exactly what you need, which makes the experience even better. This year marks the third year I’m ordering my daughter’s birthday cake from them, and I plan to continue coming back year after year — and even in between birthdays — for their vegan treats. Usually, when you buy a vegan item from a bakery, you can immediately tell it’s vegan — the taste or texture tends to be just slightly off. I always appreciate when bakeries make the effort to offer vegan options, but it’s something special when a bakery can create vegan desserts that taste just as good as traditional ones. The first time we tried their vegan cake, my husband was convinced I must have ordered a regular cake by mistake because it tasted so good! You can tell this bakery uses extremely high-quality ingredients and makes everything from scratch. In fact, there have been times when I’ve paid more at other bakeries for vegan cakes that didn’t even come close to the quality this bakery provides. If you’re looking for a vegan cake, cupcake, or cookie — whether it’s for a birthday, a holiday, or just a get-together — this is absolutely the place to go. Even if you don’t have food allergies and are vegan by choice (or even if you’re not vegan at all), I highly recommend trying their vegan offerings. They are truly outstanding. I’m so grateful to have found this bakery. Their commitment to quality, care, and delicious vegan options means more to families like mine than they probably realize.

The owner was so incredibly kind and helped us pick out the right things to feed 30+ people, was super responsive via email, and even met us in person when we picked up our order to offer her heartfelt condolences. They went above and beyond to help make this difficult day easier and we were blown away not only by their compassion, but the quality of their baked goods! The memorial guests devoured everything and many of them remarked to us how great the food was :) I can't recommend Cara Mia enough and hope to visit again under happier circumstances. Thank you!!!!

I went in before 3pm (time they close) grabbed a chai was delicious and got a rice krispy treat Easter edition for my daughter thought it was cute. My daughter was excited when she got it. The rice krispy treat wasn’t good tasted old. She spilt it out
