Bonanza Mexican Restaurant Lone Pine Reviews
Great service by Rachel. Tasty food inc burritos. Chips and salsa on arrival. Thank you
Fantastic spot for authentic Mexican! The chips were crisp, guac was fresh and flavorful, and the tacos and tostada hit all the right notes. Great service and cozy vibes. Just shy of perfect—maybe a bit more spice in the salsa. Still, I’ll definitely be back! If you are on 395 and planning for a pit stop at lone pine- bonanza could be your ultimate diner
Been coming here for years. Their burrito is so good! We always get the Cali burrito and their quesadilla. Friendly staff. It’s August and a weekday, there’s only one kind server and a few workers in the kitchen, so don’t come hungry. The place is ample and clean and has a great view of Mt. Whitney. We recommend and we’ll be back!
Excellent homemade authentic Mexican food. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. I had the #4 combination of Chile Rellano a nd a taco. Got a small but over-stuffed carnitas soft taco. So good and tasty. The chili was huge and the best I've had. Salsa needs some spicing up and they will bring some red sauce to add to the salsa. Overall it was a great meal.
Consistently good food, served quickly, and at a fair price.
Excellent all around. Very good Carne Asada and the chips and salsa were awesome.
Nice Mexican food restaurant on main street of Lone Pine. Plenty of seating, service was great, friendly atmosphere, nice view of mountains to the West. Ate Asada fries that was very filling. Definitely will return next time.
Food was amazing! Had the Chile Verde Colorado and wasn’t disappointed. Took a picture of my beverage because the frosty mug was a treasure :)

The chicken tacos were great. The salsa was one of the better I have tasted. Prices were reasonable in today's climate. I would recommend this place. The booth seating needs upgraded but it gives it the rustic feel.
Friendly staff, and super fast service. The food was fresh and excellent. Nothing fancy but yummy and filling. A great stop on the way, we may stop there again on the way back!
Stopped in at 7pm with a group of 9 and the staff were super accommodating and friendly toward us. The food was delicious, authentic, and seemed to be reasonably priced for the area. Really nice experience overall!
This was a special find! Super small, almost a hole in the wall on the main drag of Lone Pine. The food was delicious! Super fresh and obviously home made. I loved the salsa! The California burrito was really good and so was my husband's Enchiladas Verde! I also want to note that I really loved the refried beans! Our server was adorable. I wish I got her name. We will be making sure to stop here again on our way to or from Mammoth.
Cozy family diner setting serving a combination of Mexican and American dishes. We were quickly greeted and given our choice of booth seating by the very amiable proprietress. I had the Chile Verde and my wife had the vegetarian burrito. Both were quite tasty and well presented. Would eat here again if passing through Lone Pine.
Possibly the best veggie burrito, chips, and salsa I've had. Will definitely stop in again next time I'm in town

The wet burrito was good. Great service, the server was friendly. She made me feel welcome. I would recommend this spot to anyone passing by.

Great little family style restaurant. Staff super helpful, service very quick and attentive. This small town offers allot of choice for good, shopping and attractions.
Back here again! More than a year ago, we were traveling through Lone Pine when we stopped for lunch at Bonanza Mexican Restaurant. We enjoyed our meals, so this time around, while visiting Death Valley National Park, we craved Mexican food and decided to stop here for a meal again. Bonanza is a family-owned restaurant, and the people serving the customers are amicable. When we walked in this time, two young ladies were attending the floor, and they were both very welcoming and friendly. When it came to ordering our dinner, we could not remember what we had ordered the last time we were here, so we settled for Carne Asada, Fajitas de Cameron, and the Cobb Salad. Then I got curious and dug out some photos from that trip. To my surprise, we all had ordered the same exact dishes and had sat at the same table! :- ) Dad and I enjoyed a cold beer each while waiting for the food, as we usually do. My mom loved her Fajitas de Cameron, and I loved my salad. My Dad enjoyed his Carne Asada but thought the meat was chewy. I tried a piece, and it was tasty. It was tough because the beef was from a grass-fed/free-range cow. Bonanza Mexican Restaurant is an excellent place to eat a filling meal if you are in Lone Pine. The quality of the food is good, and the service is excellent.
This restaurant was recommended by the staff of the hotel. This is where the locals go, to get some really excellent Mexican food, freshly prepared and very tasty. Lone Pine seems to have a number to restaurants, and I wouldn’t mind trying them all as I pass through on the 395. Give them a try, this place is very good.
Good service, good food with plenty of vegetarian options. Visiting from San Diego, we are spoiled when it comes to Mexican. But I think in this context this is not a bad restaurant, and would be unfair to compare to SD Mexican places. We got veggie enchiladas which was filled with freshly cooked vegetables, spinach enchiladas which was full of cheese and topped with green sauce, and garden burger with the optional lettuce wrapping rather than the usual buns. Chips and salsa were standard, and salsa was great on the salad. Red enchilada sauce was little on the sweet side, but then this is advertised as American Mexican restaurant, so cannot really complain. Snowy mountain view is a plus.

Went here for pre-Whitney meal and regretted the next day. Not a good idea to have beans/rice before and have the gas expand inside you & try to escape on high elevation. Other than that, food was good, veg and non veg. Wet burrito was pretty good. Service a bit slow, good ambience, prices a little high for the location. Parking on street.
Roaches, roaches! They served my burrito with an actual cockroach inside. Additionally, the meat in the chicken tacos, quesadilla, and burger tasted like it had been cooked the previous day. To their credit, they did replace the burrito when we pointed it out. However, when we politely let them know that the rest of the food was served cold, they got defensive and responded with, “Why are you saying this now?” and “We can’t discount the food. Anyway, you’re not coming back.” For the record, we were not looking for a discount. Our only intention in speaking up was to ensure they serve clean and fresh food
The food gave me diarrhea! I was so hungrywe ordered 2 dinners. Tasted good, but messed me up afterwards till 2am!
