Jake's Saloon Lone Pine Reviews
A fabulous place. Jake’s draws an eclectic clientele—from locals to European travelers stopping between Death Valley and Yosemite, hikers and backpackers (including those on the Pacific Crest Trail and the John Muir Trail), and people there for a stop while enjoying the open road. The prices are reasonable and the bartenders friendly. The rural western flavor of Jake’s is genuine and simply can’t be packaged in a restaurant chain or in Las Vegas.
Great watering hole after a day exploring beautiful Lone Pine. Friendly bartenders and a very old western ambience.
We had such a blast here! We came to have a drink after camping for two nights and I was pleasantly surprised to find some pool tables in here. 😁 Their decor is so neat and entertaining. They have Touchtunes, which is convenient if you have the app. 👍🏼 After dinner, we came back and there were several locals here playing pool and socializing. We met some cool people and was actually asked to join to play in pair and we kicked 🍑! 💪🏽😎 I definitely recommend if you're in Lone Pine! Oh, the girl's restroom was clean, spacious, and really cute.
Probably the coolest bar I’ve ever been to. The locals are friendly, and the bartender was very kind. Absolutely love this place
Great bar in Lone Pine, Ca!! The bartender, Sarah is super nice, always smiling!! Great place to celebrate after hiking Mt. Whitney!!😅
This saloon is your quintessential old west bar with swinging door and six shooters on the bar. Service is great and atmosphere is top notch.
Plenty of things to do here! They have ping pong, pool, shuffle board and a juke box. The writing on the wall is super cool adds to the flare and seems to be an important stop after climbing Mt. Whitney. It's got an an old school vibe that's really cool highly recommend it!
It was early St Paddy’s day, a local tradition. So beer was served in plastic containers 😬. But there was an awesome legit Irish Band from LA. Anyway, great staff and a fun bar. Didn’t try the food. But don’t miss this place!
Great Bar, Oldschool. Cheap Prices on IPAs. Nice Staff. What more you want?
Cool place to stop. Hours are listed til 2am but bartender said usually between 11 and midnight. Bags of chips are the only food. Lots of restaurants around.

We came in from Utah. First time here at Jakes. Sara was absolutely amazing! She made me the best margaritas i have ever had. She was very friendly and professional. I felt like I was hanging with a friend having a few drinks. We will definitely be back. 💛💜💛
Fantastic bar in Lone Pine! Great atmosphere, good music, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town
I’ve been to bars in over 15 countries. This is my favorite one. Pro tip: ask about the Thursday and Sunday night pool tournaments.
Dropped in during my travels with my relo team and we had a great time! Owner stayed a little late so my crew and I could enjoy pitcher beer and play pool… very cool spot to hang out during your travels thru Mount Whitney, Ca ❤️💪
Popped in Mid afternoon for a cold one before our Whitney day hike. Sarah was great and the vibes were on point!
Always nice to have a drink and visit locals.

This small town bar is welcoming to strangers and friendly. Pool tables and a great beer selection both on tap and in bottles.
Old school watering hole in Lone Pine. Full bar, but only 6 beers on tap. Local vibe but with visitors and climbers from all over the world. Friendly folks enjoying beverages and camaraderie.
After riding through Death Valley in 100 degree heat Jakes Saloon was a welcome relief for 6 very hot Australian motorcyclists.

Foreigners not welcome! Its a nice saloon in a classic way. But you are not welcome if you are not a local, the whiskey selection is a joke and the waitress doesn’t like her job (and is not good at it). First my wife - who is 39 (!) didn t get a drink without ID (well - she could take this as a compliment) - so we had to walk back all the way to the Hotel and get it. Once back we got our drinks in the most „you are not welcome“ way. Later I payed by card with PIN .. wow. That was too much. I was commanded to enter my PIN („you come here when I tell you“) and was treated in an unbelievable way in front of others at the bar. Not enough the bill and the pen was handed over: “this is in case you want to tip me“. Hahaha... guess what ...? zero stars for the waitress.

Edit: glad to hear they replaced their racist flag after my review. Although, I dunno, I kinda prefer for businesses to advertise their racist values so people know what they're getting into and what they're supporting with their dollars. Anyway, I was definitely not mistaken about what flag was there. I'm from Alabama. I know what the Confederate flag looks like, lol. I've attached photographic proof of the original Confederate flag hanging over the door of Jake's. Original review: I guess I never really noticed it because 1) I'm not very observant by nature and 2) I'm white and am just not programmed necessarily to process this kind of thing, but I recently went to Jake's because it had become tradition to stop on our way to and from Mammoth, and I brought my good friend for the first time. She is not white and is from the South and immediately noticed the huge Confederate flag hanging above the door. She was uncomfortable and felt that it was intimidating and that no one hangs a Confederate flag unless they want to make a statement about their values. Well, I agree and I appreciate her point of view. So, decide for yourselves what you're comfortable with, but I know that I will not be returning.
