Thirsty Isle Long Beach Reviews
I had the Nashville hot breakfast burrito and it was tasty! It is a tad bit on the heavy side for a breakfast burrito in the morning but if you love nashville hot chicken and breakfast burritos, they do it pretty well. I do like the tater tots they add into the burrito as their potato. The staff is very nice and the order came out very quickly. There is indoor and outdoor seating at this place.
Had their Nashville hot breakfast burrito with a side of fries. Absolutely delicious. The fries were tasty. Not over cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. The burrito was perfect amount of spicy (hot spice level). Each and every bite was full of flavor. Can't wait to sample more of their menu.
We have seen this place a couple times and after some Christmas shopping we finally decided to give them a try. My son had the Cluckin Mac is was very delicious. The Mac n cheese was cheesy, the tenders were crispy and juicy and the fries were on point. I had the Nashville hot breakfast burrito. Wait time was decent but the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was clean. We will be coming back.
I have been coming here almost every Monday after I get out of class for a few months now. I am obsessed! Not only does the chicken have a good amount of heat ( I always get "the feel it twice") but the chicken actually taste good as well! Mac n cheese is pretty decent. Plus this establishment's title is pretty fun to say! Customer service is always friendly and great. I always recommend this place if anyone is in the area.
Cluck & Blaze is pretty popular. There were a lot of people that came and went in a short amount of time, but it wasn’t packed. I ordered the main chick combo which comes with 1 side. I got the Mac n cheese (should have more cheese in my opinion) and I pretty sure much inhaled it. Try dipping it in the ComeBack Sauce!! The Main Chick Sandwich was delicious, especially the coleslaw, and the chicken was juicy. For the heat level, I chose You can do better (mild) which I regret because I don’t eat a lot of spicy food. So I died inside and it didn’t help that the sandwich was hot. Overall, everything was great. This place is for people who love spicy food, but I’m going back just never choosing mild or above.
i ordered the 'main chick' meal and was pleased. the size of the chicken was worth the trip alone. the spice/heat level was there but i should've gotten the 'call your mom' higher level to really start sweating. i'd definitely return and try something else on their menu. the Mac n Cheese was okay but i would also try a different side my next visit.
Great flavor and full sized portions with a reasonable price. I saw an ad on Facebook and had to come try it out. It's located across from the college nearby where I grew up so I didn't mind making a long trip to get there but I'm really happy to say that it was worth it because it was just what I was hoping it would be. A loaded breakfast burrito. I got the 2nd highest heat level, call mama. And yes, it's pretty hot. Still tasty but not for the weak. It did burn but I could still taste the other flavors so it's really balanced just right. The only thing is I wish the drinks were a little bigger. They do give free refills but the place is super busy for the entire time I was there. So, you almost have to time it out in between rushes to ask for a refill during these pandemic rules. You can't get your own.
Love the chicken sandwiches. The spice levels are insane but they're great.. I enjoy them when super hot while others say they cant taste it I still do... their slaw is really good, they put it on their sandwiches and fries as well. still gotta try their breakfast but everything else is good, cluck and mac is also good.. must have at least once in your lifetime..
If you're feeling adventurous and enjoy chicken sandwiches, or just enjoy spicy goodness, this place hits the spot. Juicy, tender, no nonsense size of chicken, available in a variety of spice levels, perfectly balanced and delectable down to the very last bite. These guys have friend chicken down to a fine art. The sides complement perfectly. Be ready for a wait time (which considering is understandable) but 100% worth the wait. Bring your friends and revel in this perfect chicken sandwich.
I love this place. Very nice and friendly staffs and the food is so good! It’s fresh, tasty, and more flavorful than other chicken places or fast food chains (obviously). Nice decor, good parking! Best chicken shop in town!! My wife and I always order here whenever we work at our laundry store (Coco Laundry) on 7th St in Long Beach!
I think this is the best chicken shop in the area! It is hot, juicy, and delicious! The service was also extremely friendly. I highly recommend this place! I will be returning for sure
Always get the cluckin fries with mild heat it’s the best! Do not mix this up with the BLAZIN fries these are not the same.
Fantastic time at Cluck & Blaze. Arrived around 7pm on a Friday, wasn’t super busy, COVID safety measures were in semi-effect—there were several moments a more concerned individual might get uncomfortable, but those moments were brief and I was already sitting outside before they occurred. Bathrooms were also open for washing hands, but you could easily get away with using the facilities. If this were a review strictly on safety protocol, they would get a 3 star review. Alas. This is about the food. I got the Chicken Meal #1 (chicken sandwich with pickles, slaw, and a thick chicken breast that didn’t completely fit on the bun. I got the second highest spice level, Call Your Mom, I think it was called. Also, mac n cheese. The spice wasn’t too hot—they give you a warning since it’s made with ghost, habanero, and I think scorpion peppers. For those accustomed to spice, you’ll sweat, but it won’t be super painful, all yum. The flavor profile reminded me of spicy ramen. Mac n cheese was tasty, but the TEMP heat combined with the FLAVOR heat of the chicken made it a little too painful to enjoy. Save for after, or brace yourself. Parking at this location isn’t great, but if you’re familiar with curb color laws in LB you’ll be fine.
First timer at Cluck & Blaze. Customer service was a 10/10 Food 10/10 I ordered Cluckin’ Mac & Chicken w/a raspberry lemonade (~$16). The raspberry lemonade could have had a bit more flavor to it but it was still refreshing. I will def be back bc the food is delicious, I got non spicy chicken but next time I’ll try something with some heat. 2 things I really like about this place…they text you when your order is ready and they take Apple Pay. Cluck & Blaze, I’ll see you cluckin soon 😂👍🏾
Sandwiches were extremely flavorful and juicy! Don’t pass up on their Blazin’ Fries with their comeback sauce! Dine-In area is clean and the customer service here was excellent as well. As far as my hot chicken sandwich experiences go thus far in life, this place has made it to my Top 3 hot chicken sandwich spots.
Make ** The ** Pilgrimage! They don't call your name until they're sliding the chicken, still crackling from the fryer, directly onto the bun. No heat lamp. No delay. Just immediate delivery of molten, spicy bliss. "Someone call the morgue!" I heard them say... It stayed scorching from first bite to last. That, my friends, is a hot meal done right. It was, without exaggeration, the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.
Husband and I really enjoyed our food! A little bit salty but the coleslaw evened it out. Honestly I'm not a big fan of coleslaw but this paired great with the chicken sandwich! The chicken was HUGE! It definitely kept me filled up for the ride home. The Mac & Cheese noodles were also thick which I really liked because it makes it that more fulfilling. I just want to add that Julia was such a sweetheart and I wish we had time to stay and eat because she lights up the place! Next time I think I'd want to kick up the heat but I was worried it might be too spicy for the drive back, haha. If we're ever in town for longer I would go again! Thank you for serving us!
My Husband and I traveled the nation to where ever the food took us and that included Nashville where we experienced the "OG" hot chicken spot... Unfortunately the OG place we tried was legit horrid (tasted like straight cayenne powder with absolutely no flavor), so not gonna lie we were hesitant to give hot chicken a try again. Cluck n Blaze Caught our eye with their crazy sandwiches and burritos so we finally pulled the trigger and we are SO GLAD that we did! Like WOOOOWWW!!! Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE flavors, crunch, juiciness, spice, EVERYTHING! They seriously saved hot chicken for us and have been OUR FAVORITE that we've tried, as we've tried a couple more spots since, but cluck n blaze continues to out perform all others! We ordered the Plan B and the Breakfast Burrito "Jerry Style" and damn that comeback sauce is so freaken addicting! We've been multiple times and every time that cook on that chicken "slaps" as the kids say these days! We've also had their loaded tacos and mac n cheese with chicken as well!! Our fav was the Plan B and Jerry Style Burrito for sure, but also LOVED the large chicken inside the tacos! We can't recommend Cluck & blaze enough! We will tell you that they have taken a concept from Nashville and MASSIVELY out performed the OG place! They are a MUST if you like flavorful, juicy, crispy chicken with a kick! Random note: We were in town and had won their Thanksgiving giveaway for the Nashville turkey... YYYYEEESSSSS!!! Can't believe HOW WELL the flavors seeped into the juicy crispy turkey! It took Thanksgiving to the next level! If you can be sure to order a Turkey from them to impress your guest at your Next Thanksgiving gathering!!!
The food was delicious and made to order. Had excellent customer service by George, the store manager. He answered some of my questions regarding the menu items. He was so helpful, said I can always ask for a sample of the sauce before I order, just in case it would be too spicy for my taste.
This place feels hidden. It’s in the middle of strip mall that is outdoors. I enjoy the Mac n cheese with the chicken, fries and “You can do Better” seasoning. The cashier was kind. My food was made in a few minutes. The Dr. Pepper was nice and had a vanilla taste to it compared to other restaurants. The heat is not too much, but has a warm sensation when it hits your tongue. I spent over $15 for my meal. They have three televisions and their bathroom was out of service when I visited.
The fried chicken sandwiches are bigger than your typical fried chicken joint. They are filling and the mac & cheese is my side. There’s 6 tables here so it won’t sit a lot of people but def recommend if you’re in the Long Beach area. Parking is a little difficult.
Awesome spot that emulates the same flavors, if not better, than most Nashville hot chicken places I’ve been to in Alabama and Tennessee! Their spice levels are higher than most places so ask for a taste test! The wait times can be longer than expected due to many pick up orders.
The chicken sandwich is so good! And they're not joking around with the spiciness level. The chicken comes out so juicy and crispy at the same time. This place will give KFC a run for their money. Definitely will come here again given the opportunity.
I was on the run so I took a turn to this place. Didn’t really want a sandwich but to my surprise they had a Nashville hot chicken breakfast burrito. I got the medium. I could have went to hot; next time, the 5 stars are going to this burrito. The Mac n cheese is a hit or miss anywhere. Mac n cheese was good, but it could use a dash more sodium. A good tip on Mac and cheese is to add some more cheese to give it an elastic presentation look. If it looks cheesy like that then you know it’s good. Good flavors coming from it tho. The eggs in the burrito was really silky, if they use cream or milk to cook with their eggs; they know what they are doing. The sauce added the savory flavor for the chicken. Atmosphere was clean and staff seem to be happy. I really think the burrito will provide a nice anchor for their business. There’s a rise on Nashville hot chicken and it’s gonna be everywhere but this burrito really makes a spotlight for this cluck n blaze.

About 26 inside seats, Pepsi products, tap to pay preferred. Food was good and the restaurant was clean.
The chicken was pretty good, the staff seem nice, the fries I could live without not a fan of twice fried, but the tenders were spicy not to hot just right with a sweet under tone. The comeback sauce was descent but the crimson cowards in Downey was the best so far all in all I give it a solid 4 banger ✊🏾
It tastes great. We got our order really fast (they text you when it’s ready) and they had great social distancing for their workers as you order through a mic. The chicken breast was giant. They added a bit too much sauce as the sandwich was falling apart, maybe a little less and they just give us sauce on the side if we want more? Anyways the reason it’s getting 4-stars is cause the cups were so freaking small. How am I supposed to enjoy a “hot” chicken sandwhich if my drink i so desperately need to survive the heat is sized for children, especially at that price. Also my girlfriend got No Heat and claimed their was still some spice, maybe it was the sauce but just beware if you have zero tolerance for spice. Good tater tots and mac
Had the SideChick dual sandwich combo. And just when I thought I had the heat consumption under control; I went a little to hot. Nice sandwich you got there; be a shame if something were to happen to it. Following day 2nd round tasted just as good as well cause I leave no sandwich left behind. Meat was nice and big overflowing the the bread
My first time here let me first start out they definitely make your food fresh there can be a bit wait but they literally gave us a free Mac & cheese for the wait the food is perfectly made & delicious but I will say they should add more flavor to the max & cheese it tasted kind of plain but other than that great customer service! They were really nice and gave us recommendations! I am definitely going back to try other flavors of spice ! Loved it ! Plus that sauce is BOMB !
I was super impressed with the changes that have been made since I was here last (grand opening week). Both the aesthetics of the location and the quality of the food have dramatically improved. I got the Side Chick Combo with Mac & Cheese. They let you choose different spice levels for each of the sliders. I chose medium and hot. The heat on the hot was perfect. It was not too hot to enjoy but also hot enough to get my nose running. The buns used on the sliders were very pillowy and buttery. The slaw and the pickles were perfect. The mac & cheese was super creamy and not mushy. Super impressed all the way around and I won't wait so long next time to make me way back.
They live up to the name! Chicken was blazing lol. It was overall really good. I got the main chick combo. Comes with the sandwich and a side. Tots were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! Same for the chicken sandwich! Also got the “you can do better” mild rub. Banana pudding was gas money! Awesome customer service on top of it all! Thanks guys! Definitely will come again!
The staff was pretty nice, fast service in my opinion. I had the " the side chick" it was okay I wasn't a big fan but my brother liked his "the main chick" they have different type of spicy. Nice place 👌 nothing bad to say. Bathrooms available.
A sandwich with more heat than taste. Upon first bite the initial taste was the sauce on the chew then the flavor of the chicken was slowly introduced until quickly overwhelmed by the heat slap to the taste buds. The taste of the chili spice's heat immediately engulfs your mouth and you'll be in need of a drink to quell it. Overall if you're into a 70:30 ratio of heat to flavor sandwiches, this is the spot. You can also ask for a tot and fry mixture if you can't make a choice between spud presentation as well. The staff was friendly and the dining area was pretty clean. There's only one restroom so you may be waiting if the restaurant is crowded. Went during the 8:00pm hour and the wait for one sandwich was around 30-45 minutes as they were dealing with a backlog of delivery orders and a line of 10 people which some customers left due to not wanting to wait that long for their order.
I ordered The Side Chick Combo (mild) today. The sandwich wasn't bad, although it wasn't as flavorful as I remember. Seasoned fries also came with my sandwich. Prices have gone up, but I guess that's the norm everywhere. There wasn't a line when I came in, and I received my food pretty quickly. This location is open until 9 pm, but call ahead to confirm in case hours change.

The lady in the counter was kinda rude when I wanted to replace the number that they would notify when my food is ready. She didn’t even verify after, but oh well, I guess she just doesn’t care that much, her customer service was probably was like a one time thing, nvm I dont want to judge. Food is great, its soo good. Would definitely go higher with the heat, medium is like mild for me, so def go higher with your spice! Would come back but the lady in counter was just not for me, hopefully you get a better cashier that is not rude. -2 stars just b/c of her. Food is a 4/5, customer service 2/5.

Update during my visit May 2024: Sadly, they no longer offer banana pudding or any desserts here. The location was running on a skeleton crew when I ordered from here… one chef and one employee to do literally everything else. The food is no longer something special, but it looks like they added a “light” option for their mild heat… which is good, because the mild was nearly too spicy for me. Unfortunately I will not be returning… their prices have increased and their quality has really gone down. Many better places around Long Beach. Sad… this place was really popping off when I first discovered it. _____________ All around amazing place to eat. My favorite is the banana pudding. Mild heat for me is almost too hot, and it wrecks my bowels, but it's totally worth it. The sauce and coleslaw are a fantastic combo on their sandwich. Tater tots are nice and crispy and their mac & cheese is pretty good too. I rarely have issues ordering here, and when I do the staff is always very accommodating
They clean up and start closing early, wouldn't serve me with 15 minutes left until close. Kinda sad I drove all the way over for that. Went back another day and got the side chick combo, chicken sandwich was OK but the fries were pretty soggy and boring. Not sure what all the hype is about.
We have visited this establishment before and can attest that the chicken quality has declined, as it now tastes like frozen chicken, a notable difference from our previous experiences. The Main Chick and Cluckin’ Mac we ordered were not satisfactory. The sandwiches were warm and lacked freshness. The French fries were excessively salty. My husband's tater tots were cold and chicken-free, consisting of mere crumbs. The experience fell short. The only satisfying experience was watching the NFL draft 2025.
One of the few places open for Christmas dinner when I was in town. The spice level was decent, but the chicken was very greasy, even as fried chicken goes. Everything felt greasy and heavy. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean.
I use to come here for years, chicken is amazing like always, as you know the crew workers change from but recently the crew workers seems are not happy and they commit to start the closing procedure too early from closing hours which feels uncomfortable cleaning up while customers are dining and eating like 3 hours from closing time that is not professional with the smell of cleaning products
