Urfa Bistro Los Altos Reviews
Came here on a Friday evening but luckily was a bit early so we were able to get seating outside since it was a nice September day. Staff was super friendly and attentive and offered to help us through the menu and offer suggestions. We ended up with the Beyti Kebab, which was excellent and glad we ordered it. The meat inside was tender and had a nice smoky taste to it. The lamb shank was fall off the bone as you'd expect it to be and the sauce was amazing as well. We actually liked the combination of the betyi kebab with the lamb sauce together. Gazpacho was an excellent addition as well since it was a bit warm out and really hit the spot. The bread as well as the hummus were great, especially the bread, so much so that we ended up asking for more bread to dip the sauces in! We have this on our short list of restaurants now to eat at in Los Altos and will definitely be back to eat through their menu!
We came for lunch and ordered chicken salad and fish. Both dishes were great and very delicious. Service was great.
What a wonderful experience from start to end. We arrived at an "odd" hour between lunch and dinner, when the street and restaurant was not crowded. We were seated and treated very well. Jess was our server and although she was new, her welcoming smile and courteous service was refreshingly pleasant. Our meal was excellent and the place was very clean. The male mustached manager was also very plesant. Our visit here could not have been any better....so a 5-star review is quite easy. I would, and will, gladly return here.
This place offers an incredible selection of delicious dishes! My favorites are the Beyti and Künefe – they’re absolutely amazing. On top of that, the owner is incredibly welcoming and provides excellent hospitality. Highly recommend this spot!
We have been coming here several times. Lunch outside is very pleasant. Service is friendly and professional. I'm our most recent visit we had the cold mezze plate, pear salad and mussaka. Everything was great.
Elegant, contemporary, upscale restaurant with thoughtful outdoor seating. Finally got the chance to dine here, and it did not disappoint. Ambiance is a high point, particularly outside. Got the Urfa kebob, ginger root soup, and of course, Turkish coffee. Soup was exceptionally tasty and nicely hot. Kebob was slightly dry, and plating was oddly unbalanced. Nonetheless, decent dish. Turkish coffee was on point. Would recommend and will be back to try other dishes.
This is now my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. The decor is nice. My beautiful tomato and beet salad came from the garden of the owner, we were told. The ground chicken kebab was the best in my memory. The baklava was very good too. Our server was really nice.
Great vibe and great food. I ordered the lamb shank and it was perfectly cooked. I would really like it to be with a bit more spice and salt. The atmosphere is really good and I highly recommend the outdoor sitting.
The (new) owner is here to greet his guests with a big smile. Food is thoughtfully presented and very fresh and tasty. Many restaurants over-salt their dishes, but here it’s just right for me.
Great place, awesome food awesome people! The music, bread, food and a cup of Turkish coffee, almost feels like you actually are in Turkey! The beyte kebab was specially super awesome with a perfect combo of juicy bready and meaty! Highly recommend the mezze sampler too! I also do recommend a reservation! The Mediterranean omelette had grilled veggies in it that tasted fresh out of wood smoke grill. Cleanness: clean Service: great Food: awesome Seating: indoor and outdoor Parking: easy scattered
This was a treasure to find! The food was outstanding, the heated patio was perfect for a lovely meal with my family and the service was good! Our experience was divine with the fresh hot bread and tasty olive oil to the lamb chops and the pasta with shrimp and salmon! The dolma were fresh and full of flavor! I don't usually love olives and it all left me wanting more! Simply a perfect evening! My husband and I shared the lamb and our daughter had enough to take home some for the next day! Reasonably priced for the food, service and experience for Los Altos!
It is best to make a reservation at Urfa, else be prepared for a long wait. We had the hot and cold appetizers, both yummy. If you get one, pick hot. The branzino was fresh, the chicken kebab was filling, and the vegetables mussaka was excellent. The service is very slow, plan for two hours, but our waitress kept us updated, and checked on us frequently. We recommend Urfa.
Had a great meal at Urfa Bistro with my friend while visiting the Los Altos, CA. We had the seafood pasta with an incredibly tasty sauce, shrimp and salmon. Also had the Greek salad which was perfectly seasoned. The service was very attentive and efficient Sat outside enjoying the nice weather. Will visit again when I travel to the area again.
Urfa is a solid Mediterranean restaurant. Good starters plates. The octopus on melon was delicious and very fresh, the cold tapas were great to share, and the desert were really wicked. All and all a fantastic experience.
Very tasty Mediterranean dishes, definitely save room for the dessert Kunefe and Turkish coffee. I was amazed to hear that Branzino Mediterranean seabass comes fresh daily from Turkey. Great service and atmosphere overall, 100% recommend!

We have come to the restaurant a few times now and the food has always been delicious. The first time we were there, we had the dungeoness crab cakes, the grilled branzino and a salad. The next time we had the pear salad, ribeye steak sandwich and the lamb stew. They were all fantastic!
Lovely dinner! Tasty food and beautiful presentation, nice atmosphere, and friendly service. We had the fresh mint tea, beet & halloumi salad, eggplant dip, and beef moussaka - all delicious!

Very small cozy place, food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary for the price… I liked the complementary bread that was offered in the beginning.. other than that super pricey for a very average setting and taste.
A great place for lunch. Sitting outdoor with shade was great. It is a Turkish restaurant serving varieties of wrap, kebabs, hummus and falafel. Uniquely I ordered the seafood paella today as it is their day special. The uniqueness of this paella comes with some level of spiciness. This is further enhancing the appetite to eat more. Enjoyable homemade ginger ale and very friendly service.
Tips: Make reservation. Staff: We were warmly greeted at the door. Unfortunately we didn’t have reservations and the place was packed. The host tried to accommodate us inside but that didn’t work. Our waiters were friendly and polite. The place: The dining area has a nice vibe. We probably will try to make reservations so we can experience dining inside. We were seated in the patio, which was nice and clean. But it was way too cold and there were not enough heaters. There were only 3 heaters for the whole I think 8 tables. I was shivering by the end of my food and couldn’t stay for the dessert. The food: We ordered eggplant dip for appetizers and it was delish! For the main course we had Urfa Kebob which was grilled perfectly, no too chewy, juicy enough, and tasty, and also beef mukasa. I think Mukasa is a plate hard to make it not good. Beef, good, eggplant, good, potato, good! What’s not to like! BUT, the mukasa to our surprise was meh! Overall, it was a good experience and we will visit the place again.

This place is a complete disappointment. The employees at Urfa Bistro have zero manners and absolutely no idea how to treat customers. Their tone, attitude, and behavior are downright rude. It’s shocking how a business can allow staff to talk to paying customers like this. They act arrogant, disrespectful, and totally unprofessional — as if customers don’t matter at all. If this is how they run their business, it’s no surprise people leave unhappy. The staff clearly needs serious training or replacement because their behavior ruins the entire experience. I’m done with this place and won’t recommend it to anyone. Save your time and money — there are plenty of better restaurants where the staff actually knows how to speak to people.
One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The employees at Urfa Bistro seriously lack basic manners and have absolutely no respect for customers. The way they speak is rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. If someone is coming to your restaurant and paying for your service, the minimum expectation is courtesy — but the staff here acts like they’re doing you a favor. Their attitude is shocking, and it clearly shows that customer service means nothing to them. I will never visit this place again, and I strongly advise others to think twice before going. Management needs to wake up and fix this mess, because the current staff behavior is ruining the entire restaurant.
I am very disappointed with my experience at Urfa Bistro. The employees seriously need training on how to speak with customers. Their behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. When people come for your service, they expect basic manners and courtesy — something that was completely missing here. I felt unwelcome and ignored, and the way the staff talked was unacceptable. Customer service should be a priority, but clearly it is not at this place. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves their staff behavior, because this kind of attitude drives customers away.
