Liberation Coffee House Los Angeles Reviews
Did you know the LGBT Center has a cafe? Liberation Coffee House is all about community. The walls are lined with black-and-white vintage photography from past activism, and every dollar you spend goes straight into life-saving programs for the LGBT community. I know I sound like their marketing manager, but I’m so happy to have a queer space that isn't a bar. The overnight oats taste like a coconut rainbow in your mouth and the coffee is great too!
Latte - 5 🌟! Potato onion rosemary scone - 5 🌟! I had my car at a local shop for a tune-up, and while I waited, I found my way over to Liberation Coffee House. It is housed in the LGBT building, and it is a very welcoming and lovely place to spend some time. The ambiance is colorful and creative. The employees are friendly and helpful. It also seemed to be a pretty popular spot, which was nice to see. I was there for an hour, and they had a steady crowd the entire time. The latte I had was perfect. They have a nice cafe style menu, but I wasn't too hungry, and I was drawn to the savory scone on their menu. It was a great pick and hit the spot. It also made me wish more places had savory scones. I don't know about parking since I walked over from my mechanic. I definitely will stop and enjoy Liberation when I'm getting my car looked at or when I'm in the area.
This place is worth visiting for it's Atmosphere 🫶🌟✨️ it's very quiet if yah need a great place to chill and relax this would be a place. I got a hot matcha very creamy and great tasting ✨️🌟🫶🙌
Absolutely lovely place! Great atmosphere, great guests, great staff! Lovely food freshly made - great barista. By the way - excellent house blend! I’ve had some food and drink for really reasonable cost. Colourful yet toned and modern interior. A lot of space that everyone can find a spot for themselves. Great job Liberation!!!
Updated review: this place continues to be the BEST. So welcoming and consistently GOOD coffee, food, and treats. Have placed several work catering orders and they are always perfect - delicious, well-packaged, and labeled clearly. Favorite coffee spot to visit and work from in Hollywood. Kind staff, good coffee, and yummy food options. It’s a gorgeous space to work from with plenty of outlets and free Wi-Fi. Best part: all net proceeds go to the LA LGBT Center!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The guava and cream cheese croissant, almond croissant, bacon jalapeño cheddar bagel, and lattes were chef’s kiss! My boyfriend and I take our croissants very seriously — and this one officially tops our list. Perfectly flaky, buttery, and just sweet enough. Cozy vibe and friendly staff 10/10, no notes.
Not enough coffee shops these days have big comfy chairs to sit in and this one does and they SLAY. It's also cute and colorful and GAY. What more could you want?
Found this place as I was walking with my guy on a hot day. The inside was amazing as the AC was in full blast. We ordered a frap and a turkey sandwich. The coffee and sandwich were good. Great cool quiet place.
Liberation Coffee House is an absolute gem that deserves every bit of praise it receives! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. The cozy seating areas and tasteful decor create a perfect setting for relaxation, conversation, or simply enjoying a moment of solitude. It is also important to note that all net proceeds go the the Los Angeles LGBT Center!
I ordered the 1969 breakfast sandwich, it was the best i had in quite a while. Great spot, great people there too!
This place is great! Friendly staff, tasty coffee (I’ve already had a macchiato and a cappuccino!) Decoration is superb and it is a great place to get some work done or dive into a book
Stopped in to get a quick drink ☕️ but the pastries captured my eyes 🥮 👀 I couldn’t resist! I got their Coconut Monk Berry Cake & an iced mint tea and relaxed on the patio. The staff were very nice & helpful. I don’t come here so often but always enjoy it when I do!

Great coffee and fantastic space. Staff are amazing, and it’s all for a good cause. Validated parking a huge bonus.
GREAT coffee! Excellent service and great vibes here too. I always get an iced hazelnut oat milk latte and it’s always 10/10. They use Verve coffee so it always hits. The music is always fun and service is EXCEPTIONAL every time I come here. Highly recommend. LGBT+ friendly too!
Cute coffee shop right next to the LGBTQ+ center! Sometimes they close earlier than posted so double check hours
Unfortunately I didn't take a photo, but you can trust me on this: the "Get 'Centered' Breakfast Sandwich," which is fresh baked ciabatta, soft scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon jam, apple wood smoked bacon, and arugula... is one of the best breakfast sandwiches you can find anywhere. It's deceptively simple, and perfect. What's striking about the sandwich is that it is loaded, yet light! You'll see what I mean if you get it. Even though it's hearty, it feels light when you eat it. The ciabatta is very good. Excellent to the last bite, and I'm so glad they carry tapatio so I was able to have some with it :)

The ambiance and location is perfect. The staff are super friendly and attentive. However, I ordered the "toasted marshmallow" latte and it was okay. I also ordered the "1969 breakfast sandwich" and it was delicious. I would recommend the food but maybe try a different flavor besides toasted marshmallow.
My husband and I came here for breakfast, and we were looking forward to trying espresso and croissants. Overall, we’re very pleased with their croissant. We thought it was the best croissant we had tried while visiting LA for a short period of time. We ordered: 2 Espresso 1 Croissant Total: $16.14 with tips Price-wise, it was okay. The waiting time also was decent. Great coffee and fresh, tasty, and great quality of croissant. We noticed they served everything on the go or for takeaway instead of in a proper cup or plate. Other than that, satisfied customers. Happy to recommend 🤗😀

The coffee was hot and tasty, and the breakfast sandwiches were large and satisfying. The service was excellent, and the barista double-checked my order for accuracy. As someone who is sugar-free, I appreciated that they respected my preference, which isn’t always the case at other places.

Cool place, bad attitude from employees. I dropped by because there’s a lot of good coffee places in the area. Apparently something as simple as asking for the bathroom code is enough to prompt the owner to be rude. I’d say go anywhere else — Stereoscope is 10x more friendly and better coffee.
I witnessed a young black man run inside to use the restroom. The staff called security on him because he also rinsed out his cup in the restroom (even though they offered to clean customers’ reusable cups a few times). He was incredibly upset when he left, which I felt was completely justified. I would be terrified if a restaurant called security or the police on me for using the restroom and cleaning my mug. This was my first time dining at the cafe. I don’t feel safe returning if this is how they choose to treat guests.
