Tsuri Los Angeles Reviews
You gotta come here. Tremendous Sushi and a great energy in the place. The hungry steve roll has to be one of my favorite rolls I’ve ever ordered. One of me and my wife’s favorites in the city and they made our Valentine’s Day very special. The server even gave my wife a ride stain stick when she spilled soy sauce on her jacket. We will be coming back soon!!
Incredible!! Almost everything can be made gluten free. They have a dedicated GF fryer. Calamari was excellent. Chef Sushi rolls and Fried rice cake with snow crab was out of this world. Even had a fried banana GF for dessert. Highly recommend coming here. The atmosphere was wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.
We love coming here for date night! The food is delicious, and they can accommodate for celiac disease easily (they have a dedicated GF fryer).
Saw this place while at the The Golden Apple Comics store on Melrose and decided to check it out, read great reviews and didn’t disappoint. Excellent service right off the bat, very cool place, had several rolls and couple hand rolls all of which was very well done with the freshest taste including the ginger. Lives seeing the Chefs in Fedora Hats, well done gentlemen! Absolutely recommend if in the area.
Nice place. Not too busy. Food tastes amazing!! And they can make most of the menu gluten free. Top 5 sushi places I've ever been to, honestly. Really surprised me with that. But everything just tastes the best. Highly recommend the crispy rice and escolar nigiri.
I recently had an omakase meal, and the sushi just melted in my mouth. While I don't have a picture, the miso soup stood out with crab meat and mushrooms, giving it a deep, rich flavor. The owner's warm service and the cozy, family-like atmosphere of the restaurant really made the experience special. I’d love to come back often!
Been here for the first time and liked the service and food they offer
Came here on Valentine's Day and the food and service were superb. This was our first time here and we will definitely coming back. Everything we ordered was soooo good. Started with the Toro sashimi which was so fresh and buttery. Next a few orders of saba and hirame sushi and then a hot dish the miso cod. Portion size for the cod was very generous. Every bite was mouth watering. I also ordered the udon as I was craving soup on a cold night and the flavors and noodles hit the spot. Only downside is parking but it's expected for this area. If you can find street parking on Melrose you are a winner
Went here on NYE, the vibes were so fun and the food was incredible. We were sitting at the bar and the chefs were friendly and interactive, the fish was so fresh. We loved how quick the service was but also didn’t feel rushed. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a more casual spot with simple but good quality food.
Fantastic sushi and great service. We loved the food selections and the friendly atmosphere.
Love love this little place , I’m kinda a sushi snob n this place has great fresh creative sushi!! The customer service is amazing n relay friendly staff! There’s indoor n outdoor seating n when we came on a Sat evening, it wasn’t too crowded n was really mellow. We got a bunch of handrolls n their speciality rolls n ended up eating them before we Cld take the pics of them. Pics attached ;)
This is our favorite sushi spot! Their fish is super fresh, incredibly tasty and balanced rolls. The Mushroom Miso is to die for. Our favorites include the hye, escolar sushi, tsuri roll, mussels (not to saucy!), hama toro, COs cold noodle.. the list goes on...
Wonderful location! I went for my Thanksgiving dinner and it was beyond amazing. The quality of food, the staff professionalism, and the drinks! Worth it and I will be back. My new holiday spot.
Great place with a local vibe, a bit out of the way from the center of Melrose but easy walk to get there. Jalapeño bomb is a great appetizer, I forgot all the names of the different roles but the ones in the photo tasted amazing! Will definitley go back when I'm in the area

Unexpectedly good. Usually I don't expect too much from US sushi joints. At Tsuri the server did not even know what umeshu is or most of the sushi names in Japanese even though they were right there in the menu. But then she brought the order and it was the best ootoro I had in the States to date. Other stuff we tried was pretty good too (their fish is superb which plays a huge role in it). Definitely on par with decent places in Japan (more expensive on most of the stuff though, but taking into account airfare savings...) Definitely recommend to stop by if you are nearby.
We had a wonderful experience here! Food was fresh and delicious. The waitress was helpful and attentive and the atmosphere was great. The ‘Gyoza’ was fantastic, the sushi was fresh and they have some interesting options. Oh and the mushroom soup was top notch 🙏🏼👏🏻
Great sushi choices. Consistently fresh and unusual fishes. Wendy, the owner, is the best host.
Gluten free options in sushi are so hard to find. Good fish and gluten free, couldn't ask for anything more but the service was great as well.
Had been here once before, but it'd been several years. VERY pleased with coming again as the sushi was amazing. Very fresh and balanced. The service was great and Wendy made our day with little surprises for our little one and us for our celebration. Thanks Wendy and Tsuri for not letting us down. 👍👍👍

Food was delicious. Highly recommend for gluten free allergy they are very accommodating. Their spicy tuna crispy rice is also delicious and very affordable! ($9 for 4 large pieces). In fact the whole menu was affordable. The ride for rolls is a bit loose and falls apart in soy sauce, but the service, affordability, and overall deliciousness makes this a must have. I will be returning!
Not a fan, i prefer original recipes. I always order Philadelphia roll just in case if everything is bad, so i have dish i can 100% enjoy. Not in here… asparagus dod not mixed well with cream cheese.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been here- pre-Covid days and I was excited to try it again. My friend and I ordered the sushi omakase and we were disappointed when we ate the first tray of four that came out. The rice felt old and dry, and the sushi tasted thin and rubbery. The second tray had two that tasted fresher and more moist, but overall we were disappointed especially because we love sushi. We also both had abnormal bowel movements afterwards and didn’t feel the best after dinner. Unfortunately probably won’t come back, but glad everyone else likes it.

I was driving for DoorDash for several hours without a break and accepted an order from this restaurant, even though it was about 6 miles out of my way. After hours of nonstop driving, I really needed to use the restroom — something that is normally never an issue at restaurants, especially when drivers are picking up orders and helping bring them business. To my surprise, I was told the restroom was “only for customers” and was denied access. This has never happened to me before in my years of delivery driving. I think it’s both outrageous and inhumane to refuse someone such a basic human need, especially when we are out working long hours to deliver food for them. Because of this, I canceled the order. I simply cannot support a business that treats people this way. A restaurant should understand that delivery drivers are essential partners and also human beings with needs. Denying restroom access is not just inconvenient — it’s disrespectful. If you care about basic decency and respect for workers, I would avoid this place. Their mean-spirited rules show exactly how little they value people.
