Hands down the best ever chicken fried steak we have ever had!! Moms is now our go to place for great food!! I highly recommend you stop in and go grab you a bite!! What an absolute Gem!! Friendly, relaxed and so very welcoming!! So glad we stopped in there!!

Remember those awesome hamburgers you used to eat and can't find anymore? Those big juicy hamburgers that are full of taste from fresh beef and tomatoes and onions pickles and melted cheese that tasted so good... Yeah it has been so long for me I had forgotten how great a burger can be but this is the best I promise you I have had in 10 years or more!!! It's that good!!

The long blonde headed girl with glasses that took our order went above and beyond to please us. My mom and I ate there for the first time ever and we'll be returning customers when we visit Lufkin again. The "girl" because she was obviously younger than us and looked youthful was so nice and made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. We can't have pork products and made sure that there wasn't any kind of pork of any kind on our food she even checked things like what kind of oil for certain things that we didn't inquire about. She even walked out to our table to make sure everything was right, after the food came. The food was amazing and plentiful you definitely get your moneys worth. Loved this place. The only thing that I thought would make this place any better is if they had someone coming around asking if you need refills or anything else before you leave. Other than that perfect diner.❤️❤️❤️

One of my favorite go-to spots for a great burger, onion rings, chicken basket or whatever else I'm in the mood for. The portions are substantial so I can share with someone or save the rest for later. Plus Big Red is on tap, which makes me happy.

Yummy juicy hamburgers! I would probably use bigger thicker buns, but that's the only negative. Their patty melt is really good too. And their homemade pies are amazing! I've tried all three, coconut cream, lemon meringue, and chocolate. The staff are super nice and attentive.

How do chicken salad and my companions had the chicken fried steak and chicken fingers all were delicious and plenty of leftovers. Customer service was exceptional and she helped me pick out what I wanted based off her talk three dishes.

This diner is quite amazing. While unassuming from the outside, this family ran restaurant is a real gem. The inside is charming and has a traditional diner feel with a woodblock menu and a painting of "Mom" herself greeting as you enter. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. We were helped by Maddie, or "Madds," who took exceptional care of us and the other patrons. She was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout our experience. We had the mom's monster burger, a grilled cheese with ham, and a side order of the "Kegs," which were a delicious fried combination of potatoes, cheese, chives, and bacon. The food was amazing, brought out quickly, and was fresh and piping hot. Couldn't ask for better service. We will definitely have to come back and try their pie, as well as their rootbeer float.

I was kind of skeptical at first when I walked in, it didn't look like much of a place. when I got my burger (mom's monster ll) it was incredibly scrumptious. the crispy onion rings made for a completely perfect meal.

If you are not aware....open for Breakfast and it was amazing!!!! Maddie is all smiles, polite, and very attentive. I had delicious hot coffee, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast. My boyfriend had an omelet, biscuits, and sausage gravy. He said it was delicious, and we will definitely be back. I have been telling him about the monster burger, which he will probably try next time. The price is reasonable! The quality and service are unmatched for breakfast!

Mom’s is absolutely adorable with it’s Tiffany style lighting, the best service because they work as a team to serve everyone and then there is the amazing food. Everything was made fresh. No frozen hamburger patties at this place. Don’t miss the onion rings or the dessert.

We came in on Saturday morning, and it is by far the best food we have had in Lufkin. The staff is extremely friendly and truly makes you feel like they are happy you stopped in. The young girl up front even came out when we were circling the parking lot, not sure if they were open or not, to ask if we had any questions. We definitely got our moneys worth…the pancakes really are enormous!!! You don’t get this kind of service at many places, and we will be coming back here every time we come to visit Lufkin. This place is a hidden gem!

We first visited in 2017, just days after Harvey. There was nowhere open, including Mom's. But the staff was here, cooking for displaced locals and welcomed us in for a burger. They even refused payment. Today's burgers were just as good. Many thanks.

We went to Mom's Diner for breakfast. We had traditional breakfast plates with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs with pancake/French toast for me and biscuit with gravy for my husband. Very good! Maddie was our server and she did an excellent job!! We will be going back for breakfast again to try the omelets.

I appreciate the opportunities this business gives to recovering drug addicts that live at the Mantooth House, and are going to drug court. Second visit. First was really good so tried again. First visit we had chicken fried steak & chicken fried chicken. Both really good. This visit cheeseburger & chicken salad. Hamburger big & juicy. Fries need to be fried a bit longer so a bit crisper. The chicken salad was perfect. So much chicken and very lightly coated. Service is friendly & they frequently check on you for anything you might want.

So glad I stopped in. Great Burgers and outstanding service. 😊 well, I have to be honest. The outside of the building looks pretty rough but it’s supposed to be nostalgic and that it is! When I opened the doors, “wow” I was so surprised and happy to see what a cute, clean and well kept place it really was. The staff goes above and beyond to take care of you, very friendly! They have a really good selection, including deserts. I got the burger and onion rings. It was fantastic!!! Can’t wait to visit moms again someday.

Best burger ive had in Lufkin so far. Fries are great. All the veggies are fresh. They do take pride in their hamburgers and fries and it shows. Onion rings are good. Sweet tea is good. They have coke zero which my family enjoyed and we purchase regularly at home. Dinning areas are clean. Burnt tables are a very nice touch. The seats are comfy. The bathroom could use a little bit of tidying up but that's the customers making it dirty. The prices are good the food didn't take long. There weren't a big crowd but business stayed steady. The staff was friendly but on the loud side but sometimes that's just people's personalities are like that. I used to be a very loud type myself so I understand. It's nice but you don't have to wait on staff to refill your drinks for you because there is a soda fountain. The air conditioning is very nice so don't be afraid to sit down and eat your food with your family and enjoy it. Now the outside of the place could definitely use some sprucing up. But when you come to this place you come for the high quality food not necessarily for the aesthetics of the building itself. We will definitely be back for more this place will go in my top three places to eat in Lufkin. Until next time God bless.

The food was great. Delicious tasty burger well seasoned and cooked onion rings and tots. Drive threw want exactly set up well. We had to drive threw twice after ordering our food because they only have so much room. The food did take about 11 minutes but it's cooler fresh when you order it.

Had the steak fingers. They were really tender and tasty. The fries were OK frozen variety. That's why four star. When busy it can be really loud. But well worth the trip. Would definitely go again.

This wasn't quite what we expected, but was very pleasantly surprised. You go up to a window to order your food, but then they brought it out to us. The inside of the restaurant was a very, very clean. Don't let the outside appearance turn you away. The staff was very friendly and check on us several times to see if we needed anything else. Ordered the chicken fried chicken strips. Comes with 3, but they were huge! Largest strips with ever seen. Comes with gravy, Texas toast, and choice of one side. The gravy was very tasty and seasoned well. Also ordered the avocado slammer. This is a large hamburger with your choice of 1 or 2 beef patties, avocado, cheese, bacon, and a slice of ham. There was lots of avocado which was fresh. It also was very large. The hamburger Patty was very tasty and seasoned well also. Onion rings were batter dipped and fried and were also very good. They offered several low carb menu items. Had a variety of hot dog combinations, taco salad, and other sandwiches. I believe there were several choices for dinner, which was the beef or chicken strips, fried pork chops and I think a chicken fried steak. We would eat there again. Note, Our navigation system took us to their old location which is 3 blocks further down on the same street.

I had the catfish sandwich, fries, and a drink, and it was cooked to perfection. The tater sauce, however, was very sweet, and I believe it was just purple onions and Mirical whip...definitely not traditional southern tarter sauce. I would definitely order the fish sandwich again, just dry and add onion to it. I asked for mayo, and the staff promptly brought an abundance. Again, it too was sweet like Mirical Whip, definitely not mayo.

Top notch! Steak fingers are the best in town....Hamburgers and chicken are great too! Servers are lovely and prices are good.

Finally found a Turkey Burger! As someone who is very allergic to beef. I haven't had a burger joint burger in almost 2 years. Will definitely get it again. Four starts cuz the fries could have been cooked another min or two.

This small town diner left me wishing for more. Some elements were just outstanding, and others just meh. Chicken Fried Steak, fork tender, seasoned well with perfect white gravy. Then, to have poor frozen onion rings... Great hamburger, seasoned and seared just like you want, frozen unsalted fries. Frozen jalapeno popers. But an outstanding Chocolate pie? I really wanted to love it but just didn't.

Food was pretty good, service was fair. I ordered a burger with fried okra and the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. I Should have checked my order before I left they gave me 2 gravy's and forgot my okra. It was $32.64. the burger was good but very messy and the bottom bun was kinda falling apart. not the best but not the worst place. The people were very friendly and polite.

We ordered a cheeseburger added bacon, patty melt, and onion rings. The burgers had absolutely no flavor, and I was charged $2.50 for a skimpy piece of bacon. The patty melt also didn't have any flavor. I expected a pretty nice size amount of onion rings for the almost $5 they charge. What I got was about a handful of onion rings. I won't be returning for lunch. The person taking our order was very helpful and friendly. Every employee who we encountered was very friendly. Just wish the good had been better

I hate to give a bad review on Mom's Diner. If you go inside and eat, the Food is good. Today 1-29-26 I called in to pick up 3 Cheese Burgers and Two Fries at the Drive Thru. I was told it would take about 12 minutes to be ready. We arrived a little early to pick up the food. I live about about two miles away. Got home and the fries were not hot or good. They had been laying under a heat lamp for I don't how long. Burgers were good, but the fries ruined the meal. My 91 year old Mom was really looking forward to a good meal and she would not even eat the fries. Let me tell you people that work at Mom's. We can go anywhere to eat, we do not have to go to Mom's ever again. If you people are too cheap to cook hot French Fries, and try to pass off old fries we will go some where else next time. It is not my fault you cooked too many Fries before I got there. I want fresh food at the prices I pay for fast food. Three Burgers and Two Fries over $29 Bucks. Take Pride in you business or I will Gladly go some where else. I will give you one more chance to see if you took this message to Heart. P.S. Zesty Burgers is right down the street, we ate there Two weeks ago Great Burgers and Fries! 1-30-26 Mom's replied to my review, they stated they are sorry and will talk to thier staff and assured me this will not happen again. I believe them, and I will give them another chance. I am very pleased they responded so quickly, it shows they care about thier customers, which means every thing to me. The burger was ok, it wasn't the best that I've ever had, and while it wasn't bad it wasn't really good either, don't go out of your way to get one🤷🏿‍♂️ (I actually prefer my home made burger over this) I also had green beans they were ok and the fried okra was normal as well. I enjoyed the onion rings but I will say this, if you live in this small town this is probably the best burger that you have had, but me personally I've been all over and this burger is probably 3 out of ten. They have an amazing staff, very kind and welcoming and it is also very clean inside.

Called in my order & they forgot my fries. Had to drive back. Burger was cold, onion rings was cold. NOT resting food under heating lamp. & punk rock female cook didn’t wanna reCook my food. Refunded me with an attitude.& than said to another worker that she would use what I returned to complete another order. 🚮

We came in and ordered the usual, bacon burger,well done . When I got my order the patty was so pale and hadn't even begun to brown, this of course wasn't the first time it happened, the last time I didn't say anything and threw away most of it, so I decided to say something, the young lady showed me the ticket where indeed she had written it on the ticket, she took it back to remake it, when she brings it out , it was basically the same thing! By then I was too upset to bother anymore and left, I'm not sure if y'all have new employees, but whoever the cook is doesn't know or refuses to cook the patties to the consumer's request, Next time I would rather drive to Butcher Boys in Nac. instead, They have NEVER given me an order that wasn't like I asked or that was incorrect! The place was NOT busy at the moment we came in ,so there's really no excuse for the service!

We always give somewhere two tries. Today was #2. I ordered the club sandwich, it was terrible. They must use the cheapest bread they can. It tasted like there was sugar on the sandwich, gross. The bacon was hardly cooked. The whole thing was disgusting. Then the tots were overcooked. Just not good at all. I did however like the girl who took the order. She knew her job and was good at selling.

I came to try the biscuits and gravy. Very disappointed. I was told they make them fresh daily, but I found them dry and hard. Don’t get the sausage gravy. It is just regular with some pieces of sausage sprinkled on top.

I bought a small hamburger and it only had 2 pickles on it. I asked for a few more and the owner charged me extra for them. The patty was so thin I thought I was at Whataburger! Won’t be back. Next time I’m in the area I will go to Zesty Burger next door. I hear their burgers are big and have lots of pickles!!!

I noticed on the menu the chef salad came with a hard boiled egg so I asked if I could get egg on my salad with chicken and was told yes. I get to the window to get my order and was approached by a staff member who said that boiling an egg is too much during the lunch rush(mind you the parking lot is empty) and to not get my hopes up next time. No worries, I will go somewhere else who doesn't mind accommodating my request of ONE boiled egg.

I do not even give Mom's Diner 1 star, but I had to to leave this review. My order was a call in, pork chop plate with chops fried crispy. Pick up the plate, appearance looks ok, until I bite into one of the toughest pork steaks I've ever eaten. Menu said chops, not STEAKS. After strenuously tugging through the first bite, the entire batter coating came off. I called back and they said they would REMAKE it and to bring what I had not eaten back to the diner. Sure, no problem. Arrive back at restaurant 20 minutes later, allowing them more time to fry the chops extra extra crispy. Arrive at the drive thru for the second time. Pull off to parking lot, check order.. BAM! Same pork steak with the bite missing, only this time they had just re-dipped it in the coating and refried back to the same way that I returned it in the first place. This time, I opted to go in and SPEAK TO THE MANAGER. I explained that after 2 attempts, I just wanted my money back. At this time, a big guy comes from the back. He actually looked like he had been out back hog wrestling for the pork. NO LIE! He offers some explanation which resulted in him basically he was not going to refund my money and something about dog food. The rest of his words were some unintelligible, river bottom variation of of the general English language. I forgot to mention, that included in the bag with the replacement chops were the remnants of the previous plate that I had returned...complete with all the batter from the two previous chops, the French fries and ketchup still in it. For clarification I asked did they just refry the chop I had bitten off in the same grease that they were frying new orders in the same grease? The absolute definition of CROSS CONTAMINATION. So, after refusing to refund my money, Sorry that I cannot provide pictures because I left the SLOP, CROSS CONTAMINATED, JOKE OF A PL ATE with them with some snaggle toothed lady chasing after me saying "Call the cops! Call the cops!" Best $14.60 I've spent since I can remember. I do not advise, suggest or recommend that ANY PEOPLE OF COLOR patronize this establishment. It was straight back to the 1950's, and I don't mean that in a good way.
