Barnwood Manteca Reviews
If I can give 10 stars I would. This place was that good. I was skeptical at 1st because of some older reviews but I'm telling you everything was so so good from the service to the food. The price is well worth it too. The food at Wolf Lodge has been mediocre but this place made up for all the others. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were very favorable and the server was super nice and attentive. We'd definitely come back. 10 stars!!! I hope whoever the chef is stays here.
Boy we love this place. Nestled within the woods of Great Wolf Lodge you can’t beat this spot. It is perfect after a long day of fun with the kids in the waterslides. Lucky for us we have the luxury of leaving the littles with our teens so we get a couple hours of adult time! And hey, after the day of water slides and pool fun, they’re all knocking out anyway. So, now for my recommendations. You absolutely HAVE to try the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer. Perfect crunch and the sauce is out of this world. My wife went for the steak frites which were great and I opted for the spicy chicken sandwich; super flavorful and the fries were great too. Woody made us some awesome drinks too. I’ve never had a pineapple margarita with vodka and Jameson and a splash of blue caracauo but it was delish! Next up he did a coconut margarita with vodka and it was even better. His energy and enthusiasm was awesome and we really enjoyed our time! Thanks woody and team!
Our waiter Eric was amazing!!! The food was delicious and the food came out so quick! I had the half of chicken and it was nicely seasoned! But SHOUT OUT TO ERIC!!! He made sure we were taken care of! He definitely deserves to be RECOGNIZED!
Short Ribs Bolognese tasted great but could use LESS SALT/Parm. Same with the chicken Alfredo, less salt/parm. But otherwise really delicious and both are creamy. Really good service for our group. The alcohol drinks were too mild. The Mocktails were ok just the ice needs more blending. Really nice to have a bday party here. We showed up at 4:45pm to get us a table since they were booked a day ahead. No problems there tho.
This is a sit down family friendly place that’s noisy and chaotic in a good way inside Great Wolf Lodge we were not expecting such good food and service. Our server Donovan was amazing! The kids loved the grill cheese/hamburger/ salad was great and salmon was amazing. I appreciate attentive, responsive and polite servers like Donovan who likely don’t get treated like they should by patrons. Well cooked food and decent adult drinks at average prices.. loved it! These negative reviews are from a bunch of rotted souls, this isn’t a gourmet restaurant in a kid’s water park.. it was still great.

We came at 9:30 p.m. on Friday night, we were told our wait would be 5 or 10 minutes and were seated within that time. Lia, our server, was great. They were closing soon, so she came by and let me know, also checked back with me to make sure I didn't want anything before they closed out the kitchen. My kids and I loved the S'mores for the table! 😋🍫🥨🍓
I dont know why the rating of this place is so low i went today and I had Ceasars salmon salad it was verry good the salmon was cooked verry well, and professional, crispy outside and soft, juicy well done inside - thanks to the chef. I ordered a watermelon drink and it was also very delicious so 5 stars from me, thank you! They delayed our drinks, but that happened we all humans, the atmosphere was loud but normal with all those kids I can't complain.
Came in today (8/13/23) at around 7 pm. We were seated right away. The appetizer was amazing and it was a great amount as well. The salmon and the BBQ ribs were amazing ! We were so full but we made room for the smores in the table and it did not disappoint! Everything is delicious here and I would definitely come again !

Basic atmosphere, nothing note worthy looks wise. Great server! Very kid friendly. Good food, very good fresh chicken nachos. Kid menu and kid portions were great.
It is inside the Great Wolf Lodge. Food is tasty. This place is alright for a hotel restaurant.

Went to great wolf lodge with the family and had the pleasure of dining here we were seated almost immediately and we had a large party. The waiter name was Patrick and he was great!! He was patient and attentive!. The food here was by far the best I’ve had at a hotel the kids got their food really fast which was great and they enjoyed their meals Then when the adults got our food it was delicious! I had a salmon plate and I was nervous it would be dry but it was nice and moist and the lemon and honey glaze was perfect!..I also had an espresso martini that wasn’t too bad!..all and all I’d definitely recommend this place and will go again!..

Probably one of the worst places I have been to in a while. Came on a Saturday night and was added to waitlist by the hostess. Wait time was 30min past what we were told. Ambiance was a little chaotic, menu was limited, and food was subpar, regardless of the price and being "sourced locally". Perhaps they were understaffed but on a Saturday, evening it would seem that this establishment would staff up accordingly (although it seemed staff was hustling).

Our interaction with the hostess was horrible from the start and set a negative tone for the entire visit. Despite the restaurant being empty, we were made to wait 20 minutes for our reservation with no clear explanation. After finally being told our reservation was ready, we were inexplicably instructed to get back in line. The service remained cold and hostile toward the end, with noticeable attitude from both the hostess and server. While the food itself was good, it was completely overshadowed by the uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. Being treated poorly and then expected to tip afterward only made the experience more frustrating and disappointing. Fake eyelashes get u nowhere… yuck 🤮
Ugh. MAYBE 1.5 stars. We had dinner here last night and it was sub-par at best, especially for the cost. My kids got $10 cheeseburger kids meals, that claimed to come with fruit, vegetables, (and fries)... It came with I kid you not 2-3 little baby carrots, 2 tiny celery stalks, and 3-4 grapes in a "bowl" that was meant for when someone asks for their ketchup on the side. The burger itself was full of little gristly bits and the bun was soggy as if the whole thing had been microwaved together. FYI it comes with cheese and nothing else. No pickles, lettuce, tomato...nothing. The fries were fine. I had the lettuce wraps and they were awful. The lettuce was limp, the "pineapple corn slaw" was literally canned corn and pineapple mixed together, the pickled carrots had super old chopped cilantro mixed in and tasted off, and the chicken was swimming in a sweet chili sauce, all for $14. My husband got the $19 entree burger and fries and said it was fine but nothing exceptional. Our waitress never came back to refill our drinks (probably because we weren't drinking alcohol) or check to see how the food was. I get it that this is a restaurant within a water park, but really? Chilis or Applebee's would be 3x better and not as pricey, and I'm not a big fan of either of those places either. Do yourself a favor and just pick up a pizza from Costco, literally right next door.

The restaurant was absolutely disgusting. 4/6 of our orders where improperly cook. Raw burgers, raw salmon. After sending back and waiting 20+ min for a recook. The little girls, who's job is to sit people down, was snickering and making rude faces while staring at me. She then proceeded to snicker and point at as while talking to her little colleagues and hid in the back after we asked her if she had a problem. I don't think rude children have a place in service. Yall need to hire an professional robot. It's not hard to sit people down with a fake smile. The water park was a blast. Spent almost 1k for a suit, sad costco food across the street is better quality.

Absolutely terrible service. I stared at empty tables for an hour and 45 minutes this evening all while the claimed thatvthe 1st available reservation was after 8:00 PM. Finally scored a High top in the bar area. A dozen employees standing around socializing, It took them no less than 10 minutes to clear and wipe the table. There are still 20 empty tables and folks begging to eat here. Makes zero sense. Let's see if the food is worth a damn. My kiddos are starving. Update - food was great, portions very large for the cost. The bartender was great as well. She ended up serving us.
My dining experience was horrible due to the long wait time and unacknowledged wait list. If you are a guest in the hotel, the great wolf app takes you directly to the waiting list if you want to make a reservation. After waiting for almost 3 hours and coming to the restaurant, we were told the online wait list is not effective and could rejoin the waiting list for another 2 hours. That was insane and we ended up with to go order as kids were hungry. The food was not impressive as we expected and whole experience was as horrible as it could be.
Horrible hostess. We got there for dinner a family of 3. 5 employees stood at the podium and none of them acknowledged us. Finally the one hostess tall blonde with double pony tail lift her head up and ask “you have reservation?” I said no. Then she gave us some paper menu and crayon and said if we don’t mind sitting outside. We don’t mind and walked out to find out the outside seating has limited menu. The hostess outside asked did they not ask if you want to make reservation? We said no. Then we went back in and told her the outside seating have limited menu. that double pony tail hostess said “oh I mean you guys can sit along here” *(pointing at the seating just outside the restaurant). We said down with our menu and crayon, then saw people got seated “inside” the restaurant and the waiter was already at their table taking orders. We got up and asked where is our waiter the hostess said “ oh those seats are not part of the restaurant”. Then we had to fish out an answer on how to make reservation since the online app was not accepting reservations. Then we told them we like to make reservation. She could of simply asked us “would you like to make a reservation?” To avoid all these confusion. Very bad experience and service. We would of been ok with a 30 minutes wait time if she has asked us for name and phone number for reservation. 5 employees stood at the podium and none of them asked us. Train your people right Barnwood. Never there again. Terrible service.
* Very unfriendly staffs and servers. * Wait time is really long. * Wasn’t really helpful with my missing order. *Not worth of the stress After waiting for a long time to get orders, then it comes “missing order “😫When I let them know about the missing order, I was told that all the servers are busy. After waiting for a while, I asked another staff but she said unpleasantly that she doesn’t deal with the orders. All the staffs seem overwhelmed and frustrated. We spent over $100+ but felt like we’re begging for food according to the way we were treated. My daughter and me were standing at the corner for a long time not knowing what to do while her friends were eating. It would be great if they can offer friendly and helpful services to all customers. So far Not worth of the stress.
This place sucks. Christine, one of the waitresses was rude and didn't seem very happy to be there. Maybe she needs more customer service training. a smile and friendly tone would help her out. Also when i walked up and asked for a table of 3 she asked if my whole party was here, my wife and daughter were using the restroom in the lobby and she said step aside and we'll sit you when they get here. Then 10 seconds later another party came and asked to be seated. She asked if the whole party was here and they responded no, she said that's fine and sat them. I thought it was strange. Besides the terrible service the food sucked and is way overpriced. You're better off eating somewhere out of the hotel.
