Ugly place with a good atmosphere, ice-cold beer as it should be, would come back!
What else can you say but it's La Rumba!
Historic, old time cantina in downtown Merida. Friendly, great service. Long, narrow, several rooms deep. Cool on a hot day. Botanas OK. Other dishes, like poc chuk, tacos, french fries can be ordered. Nice place to relax and have a cold beer on a hot day. Local hangout, occasional expat.

A fun place to have a few beers. They give you free snacks (tapas or pinchos) with your beer. Great Mexican atmosphere!
This place is very friendly, but it isn't for your everyday visitor. This place is inexpensive and accommodating. We ordered a few items (bottled water & rum) they didn't have and they ran out and bought them at local shops and brought them back. This place isn't the most sanitary. It has a trough in the men's bathroom, so it isn't for the shy. If you are looking for a very local experience, this is it. But it is not for the person that likes clean and a full menu.
Very calm atmosphere, everything was comfortable!
Also one more place to cool off with some good beers! And good snack!

Terrible service in every sense of the word.
I had a good time until a swamp lady started touching me and grabbed my pants. For that it deserves a one Star. But thebartenders were cool and accomodating because i was the only White person in the bar.
