Cafe Del Rio Mesquite Reviews
I had the most amazing experience despite all of the negative reviews. Jasmine was our waitress for a holiday party of seven. And she was very attentive. The food was reasonably priced and our group had a great time.
The waitress that handled our 45 people party was absolutely wonderful how she was able to keep everything in order surprises me. She deserves a raise! My food wasn't that good though the fries were really overcooked and my state was a little greasy but that would not stop me from coming back because they have such great customer service
This place was incredible. Our server was so good and the food was impeccable. Really large restaurant. My husband had Crawdad enchiladas and it was packed with meat. We both tried the tijuana sauce on our enchiladas, and it was super tasty. They provide free tortillas with a thing of butter which you rarely ever see or get in any mexican restaurant. They bring several different types of hot sauce, which were all really good.
This restaurant has really good food & service. Not to mention when they bring you the chips & salsa before you order they have a dip called jalapeño ranch. That stuff is awesome you must try it. While you're waiting for your food if you prefer you could request tortillas. And at the table they have butter, salt & pepper that you can put on the tortilla & roll it up & snack on them till your food arrives. The mixed drinks are good as well plus they carry my favorite beer Shiner Bock. They're menu is very good too they have lots of favorites to choose from but if you're not sure what you want you could order what's called the botana platter. It's a mix of different items, it's a sampler plate. They also have Chile relleno with your choice of meat, a plate called three amigos which is 3 enchiladas...1 beef 1 cheese & 1 chicken or you could choose how you want them. They also have seafood if you prefer. All in all it's a great place to go eat & have a good time. The staff is very friendly & helpful. I would go there again & again. Go expirence them, tell your friends & family...you won't be disappointed.
VISIT: 12/16/24 around 8pm This location was dead (very very slow) by the time me and my plus 1 arrived, keep that in mind when reading this review. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ FOOD: 5/5 -Very delicious, seasoned perfectly, i highly recommend getting the Beef Fajita Burrito*, it puts the regular beef to shame!. -Although the food did take a little longer than expected it did arrive burning HOT (temp wise)which is great. -The Diablo Queso* was hot and fresh, went great with the chips and cheese, would Highly recommend it to those who love Spicer Queso. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SERVICE: 4/5 -As mentioned before the place was very slow (as in customer traffic), yet the food did take a little longer than expected to arrive. -Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, she made sure to take care of us, as well as go above and beyond and recommend us different items for take out (i.e Desserts). -Close to the end of our meal staff began to use vast amounts of bleach which overwhelmed our table, so much so the aroma of bleach neutralized the aroma and taste of the food, highly affecting the remainder of our meal, and dessert. Truly a punch to the nose in terms of Bleach Intensity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUILDING: 5/5 -The lobby and surrounding areas were very clean maybe even spotless. -The decor is always on point! they don't go overboard when it comes to TEX-MEX, very festive atmosphere. -The music playing was appropriate and went hand in hand with the interior theme (decor). (Some other Tex-Mex locations have hip hop and such playing which ruins the mood) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONCLUSION: -This is a great location when it comes to Tex-Mex food, the staff are very friendly and the food is cooked with a lot of love. -It is located in a VERY BUSY area especially on the Weekends, so keep that in mind. -I highly recommend this location for Family Gatherings, After-Church dining, or Dates. Thank you for the meal, i shall return hungry for more.
One of the best Mexican restaurants I love going to in Mesquite. They have half price dishes Monday - Thursday. My boyfriend and I love taco Tuesday and enchiladas Wednesday. They have this white ranch sauce they serve that is AMAZING, be sure to ask for it. 10 out of 10 highly recommend🥰
Came here for a quick bite for lunch... I was always skeptical of coming here, but seen the reviews and decided to try it out! I’m sooo glad that I did!!! Be aware anything that you order will be a large portion I order 3 regular tacos and they were huge, and their prices are really decent. They have happy hour from 11am-7pm $3.99 margaritas which were a nice size. Our waitress was very friendly and insightful on things to order and substitutions. Also a perk that I loved you can get free ice cream on your way out, and they give you complementary chips and salsa. Great place will definitely come back. Never judge a book by its cover. - Wheezy
Food was good our waitress was not very focused on taking care of her tables. Restaurant was clean as we're the restrooms. I would recommend giving it a try.
Keep in mind this is a fast food chain Tex-Mex restaurant. The service has always been great. They have multiple different dips they serve with the chips. They have a lot of different ready-made frozen margaritas (and it only takes two of the bigger ones). The food is decent. They also have a genie machine that talks randomly and will give you your Fortune tarot card. That may be my favorite part. Lol
Checked out Cafe Del Rio, and overall it was a solid, family-friendly stop. Service was genuinely great, pricing felt very fair, and the location right next to the AMC movie theater is a huge plus perfect timing for dinner before or after a show. Food-wise, it was solid but not mind-blowing. Nothing bad at all, just more “reliable and filling” than “wow, I need to tell everyone.” That said, the kids factor is strong here, the fortune teller machine was a hit, and the little kids’ door at the entrance is a fun touch that instantly won them over. Easy, convenient, and stress-free dining for families.
Our waitress, Carla, was absolutely wonderful! Attentive, friendly, and really made us feel welcome. The drinks were solid and well-made. The food, however, was just okay nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. We also sat at the bar and the bartender was nice but for the bar not being very busy it took us some time to get drinks. Overall, the service from Carla really stood out and made the experience better.
Atmosphere is generic Mexican restaurant style. Server was flighty and just didn't seem all there. I ordered the chicken fajita chili relleno with rice and charro beans and the wife had the chicken fajita tacos. She didn't care for the chicken, over cooked. I knew it was gonna be bad when I saw a film of grease starting to congeal on my beans. Cilu relleno was bland and nothing had any heat to it, including the salsa that tasted like tomato sauce...
Something weird is going on there recently. We usually go there to pick up takeout dinner and eat at home. We also go to the bar for a drink as we do the pickup. Today was a strange experience. There were so few ppl there. I've never seen the parking lot so empty as it was today, a Sunday afternoon. Then, the really weird part was the bar area was a disaster with one bartender working, a table piled high with dirty dishes, dirty glasses ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BAR, the bar was dirty all over. We were trying to find a clean part of the bar to sit at but we had to settle for the part that was the least dirty. Still not clean, mind you. There were white, wet towels all over the bar along with the dirty glasses. But no customers were there, so the whole thing was so weird. Then the 1 girl bartending gave us our drinks and then completely disappeared. We ended up leaving cash on the bar for our drinks because no one was there to offer to make another drink or give us the check! 😂 The sides of guacamole are way too small for what they cost. I feel like this place is going out of business soon, like, really soon.
We used to love going here. We always sat at the bar. Now they have this lady that does not even pay attention to you and we have gave her many chances!!! This time was the last!!! Not sure if we will ever be back!
The food was nasty, and I even found hair in my meal. The servers themselves were good and polite, but the cheesecake tasted old, and there were black specks floating in my drink. On top of that, whoever the bald man is was very rude and was yelling at another employee right in front of everyone. Definitely not a good experience.Kayla at the bar made me a great drink though.
Been coming here for a long time. It has consistently gone down hill. Ordered fajitas for 2 over the phone for pick up. Most of the staff is not just unattentive, they clearly don't care. It really seems that ten percent of the staff do ninety percent of the work. I got to watch one young man hang out the front door spitting while I waited. Awesome. The food was tasty however after noticing how skimp it was I priced the steps of fajita meat together. I had a piece of chicken and a piece of beef that were together the size of a note card. The charro beans had the tablespoons of beans for both of us hiding under way to much broth. All and all, to say it was unimpressive is generous. This is the last time I will spend any money here. If ownership/management doesn't fix their service issue soon I don't think it will be here much longer anyway.
