We heard about this place that has traditional colombian food, and we wanted to try it, as overall we didn’t have any surprises. The food came in a super big portion and it was delicious but heavy. The vibe was nice and i got lucky, to see the game from coppa america. The service was great and the vibe was interesting!
Went to this place on a Recommendation. Well… it was as good as they said! :) Excellent and authentic Colombian food in a unique environment. Service was spot on. The Whole fried fish was flown in from Colombia and was as delicious as anyone I’ve had in Cartagena, Cali, Bogota or Medellin! The Agua Panela was also super tasty! Highly Recommend for Authentic Colombian Cuisine at reasonable price in a unique atmosphere.
Everything is really good in this place, nice staff, friendly costumer service, delicious flavors from Colombia, we got Rellenas to start, Lengua en Salsa, it comes with rice and papa guisada, also Fried fish with coconut rice and patacones. Alaxendra our server was amazing, super nice and paying attention to details all time, thanks excellent job 😊😇 They have live Music and the singer was WoW, excellent performance 😀 The only littles concern the room was a little hot, I was sweating 😓
My friends invited me there because they like the place. The attention and the food was excellent. You feel like you are in Colombia…
Best Colombian food in the área of Brickell, Downtown and little Havana. This is a go to restaurant for any craving of a typical colombian plate.
This Colombian restaurant is without a doubt one of Miami’s true culinary landmarks. Being one of the oldest and most traditional Colombian spots in the city, it has built a reputation for authenticity, warmth, and consistency over the years. From the moment you walk in, you feel a welcoming atmosphere that makes you think of family gatherings and home-cooked meals. The menu is packed with classics that showcase the richness of Colombian cuisine — from the iconic bandeja paisa served in generous portions, to perfectly crispy empanadas, hearty sancocho, fresh arepas, and refreshing natural juices. Every dish feels like it was made with love and tradition, staying true to authentic flavors while also maintaining high quality. What sets this place apart is not just the food, but the experience. The service is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel like part of the family. You can sense the history and passion behind every detail, which is why locals and visitors keep coming back generation after generation. If you’re looking for real Colombian food in Miami, this is the place where tradition meets flavor. A true gem that has stood the test of time!”
Amazing Latin place to eat and to enjoy as a family. The service was excellent, the food to die for. Highly recommended.
Loved the festive ambuent, excellent variaty of dishes, heartwarming plato paisa, ajiaco soup and flavorful tropical fruit juices!
Amazing food!!! Do not be afraid of how it looks as you enter, it's worth it! ♥️
Great place with authentic Colombian food! Everything was 😋 yummy!
Authentic colombian food, the place is really nice very authentic and the food is awesome. You should definitely give it a try. Additionally the customer service is really good
Best security service I’ve seen by far guard at the front really knows what he’s doing
We ended up at this restaurant & we had sugarcane lemonade & red snapper, plantin & coconut rice.
Arabella had amazing customer service and made my family and I feel at home.
Kind staff, unique and delightful ambience, and delicious Colombian food!!! Every place of the restaurant is picture ready always!
Excellent experience, music and food are the best!.
It was my 1st time trying this restaurant and I took it to go, and I thought the food was delicious
Tipical colombian decorations, great good, nice staff; but becareful with the shot of agua ardiente, they era very expensive.
I ate lunch here today. The food was great and the staff was very attentive. Prices are normal for Miami.
Best chicharron in town 😋😋. Food is delicious and the staff is very kind. 100% recommended.
The best Colombia restaurant around, definitely will be coming back Food was incredible the vibe was awesome and the waitress was awesome!!
Deliciosa comida!! One of the best Colombian restaurants in Miami. I'll be back. Delicious food!
Colombian place with a good music. If you want to dance salsa go there.
Comfy warm place, good music, EXCELLENT FOOD. Service was great 👍
Amazing service, delicious food and the place inside look cool.
Nice vibe! Music was really good. Food was on point, and staff was great!
Great place!!! Awesome food and ambiance totally recommend it
Great place, expensive limited parking, use Uberor other service. Servers are nice and friedly. Empanadas are great.
My review is for the nightlife. I went there with a few college friends and had an awesome time. The music was great and the prices are reasonable. Get there early on Saturday because the place gets packed.
5 stars all around this place is top tier I highly recommend it the service and atmosphere is amazing and they treat the customer with care most importantly Love.
Food was delicious! Attention was incredible, there was always someone attending our table. Food was fast and so was our service. Would recommend!
Delicious food. I recommend the sancocho de res and the empanadas. For drinks, try the agua panela, it’s better than iced tea, better than lemonade. I went on a night with a live salsa concert and it was as if I was in Colombia. There is lots of space so go with a group and enjoy.
Nice latino place. We went (myself and two friends) on a Friday night and they play Salsa, reggaeton, cumbia and vallenato music. Great service too! Some entrees (comida para picar) DJ and live vallenato music. We danced all night long and had a great time!
One of the best places to enjoy REAL Colombian food. Also, you alwasy receive the best and authentic "Paisa" service. Awesome as usual ⭐. Try the "Refajo con Guaro" 😉
Sooooo good... Today I had the Bisteck a Caballo, it was magical!🤣 Seriously, it was very flavorful and the steak was super tender. Que rico! Good parking in back.
This place has some of the best Colombian food I have ever eaten. I know about Colombian food as I was born and raised in Colombia by an old school grandma. The best way to describe their food is to say is it simply gourmet. No other Colombian restaurant in miami or anywhere else for that matter can prepare a plate the way these people do. I recommend it!
Best Colombian food I have had anywhere! Portions are great for what you paid for, I had to split my meal with my husband.
Excellent food and service!!! You must be hungry, since they serve so much and not expensive at all.
Omg I love this place so much I have never seen such a state of the art night life experience from the moment you walk in security greets you nicely and makes sure you are properly accompanied to your table I felt so safe and enjoyed my night.
We checked this spot out last night and had a great time noticed the security was extremely nice guy never felt more safe and comfortable I definitely you check them out.
I went for lunch and it was great! Food was delicious and authentic. I was filled with joy every bite I took. Had just flown in and I was super hungry and craving good food. I got it here and the food was delivered promptly. The waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions. The vegetables in my salad were super fresh and portions were filling. All of the staff there this day was Spanish speaking only. Buena comida en Miami!
Feels like you stepped into Colombia. The food tastes amazing. Personally, la cazuela de frijoles is one of the best dishes on the menu. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Colombian food. Will continue to come back!
Such a great and fun place! I actually found this gem through eventbrite. Came for a comedy show that had me laughing all night. Had delicious food and drinks too!!! Every Thursday they do a comedy show, be sure to check that out!
Fantastic soup! The sancocho and the ajiaco are both staples in a Colombian household and both dishes here remind me of home <3. I need to return and try more of the menu, but so far, the soup hits the spot, the avocado is full of flavor, the arepas are traditional, and the fried plantains were fresh, never frozen! ➕️IG: @miamicheatdays for more recommendations ✍️
Wow, what a night to remember! I stepped into this amazing spot for the first time and was blown away by the magic! Our server, Cristina, treated us really great - her kindness and attention to detail made us feel so special! And let's talk about the food, music, and drinks... absolutely amazing ! I'm already counting down the days until my next visit!
No parecía restaurante colombiano!
Pretty good flavors all around. Ton of food and action. Really enjoyed the service and the little details.. frunas.. banana with the soup and the bombombunes. Authentic.
My husband was born and raised in Colombia so every time we visit Miami, we go on the hunt for some authentic Colombian food to remind him of home. We found this place by a quick google search and we were not disappointed! We ordered 1) Churrasco la chismosa which was plenty of food for 2 people to share, 2) beef empanadas, and 3) picada chorizo con papa criolla which was my husband's favorite. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but the service was wonderful! We would definitely recommend this place to others!
The food was delicious we got salchipapas, empanada de carne, aguapanela and consome de pollo, only detail that I would mention it's that the waitress forgot couple times about our food. Prices are ok
Thanks to Taco Bell I had found las chismosa, nice tasty food excellent service
Nice atmosphere. Live music. Friendly and pleasant stuff
Food is good. After 10 pm you can dance salsa
Great food and staff. Adorable, and fun atmosphere
My husband and I had a great lunch, friendly staff and great service! Fridays and Saturdays they also have a nightclub.
Very cozy place and very nice decorations food is good
Food was great! Chicken and pork chops a little over done, but otherwise happy!
Great colorful place in Little Havana. I enjoyed the food and the service was nice and pretty fast. The only thing I didn’t like is that it was a little dirty. Overall nice experience!
had a nice time here, music was good , food and drinks good. People werent wearing masks and not only while eating and drinking , while moving around the restaurant and dance floor. Otherwise nice place
Place was really nice and had a great ambiance. The food was really good and the people were very nice.
A fun place with great Latin music, the service was excellent, our waitress was there the whole time. The food was good, a big plate of picada to share. I will be back for sure.
Been there 3 times all plates I ordered were big and really good food. The best thing is the agua panela, super refreshing and great taste. The service is good lots of decorations on the wall. Overall very nice experience.
Looks like a traditional South American bar, good for people who likes that, if you like traditional Colombian music, old salsa songs or Mexican music, this is your place.
The food was ok and the prices were reasonable. Music was great.
Food was great and but the atrention was all over the place. They need more waiters n waitresses. Also they have you an hr for the food. And for all that they charge $11 g For gratuity get outta here. Just cause its Brickell. Give me a dessert damnit im Colombian too
It’s way too expensive and not worth it. I ordered a soup and it had no flavor, it was not good at all.
We went to celebrate a friend's birthday, at the entrance they charged us for valet and admission because there was supposedly live music, but when we entered there was nothing, the band just arrived at 1am or later, are you kidding me? at one o'clock in the morning? Since we paid to see the band, we stayed until two, the singer and the band were very good, but not everyone drinks and dances until 6, the attention was very good, the waitresses always asking if we were okay. The place is super hot, everyone was sweating like a racehorse.
Second time I visited this place, I would say it's a good place to eat and have a good time dancing, it will be nice if they have more variety of music and be consistent, we're not Colombians, So I like to dance all genres of music . Another thing, going as a couple is hard to get a table, it's really difficult to order a bottle of liquor and drink it like nothing, or spend $120.00 minimum to get a table, otherwise f you're lucky go to the bar and find a spot, it should easier and probably la chismosa will be more popular. The show is pretty good actually. .
I been going here for over 2 years. Not sure what happened in the kitchen staff but the taste and flavor of the food been going down. Plus price is hi for what I experience in other Colombian restaurants. Also they have an outomatic TIP charge in the bill, tipping is not mandatory and should not be all ready added in the bill. I stopped coming here. Now I go to another location to eat Colombian food.
Food is ok, not great. Service was Fine ad well. Ordered a sancocho de costilla and it was lacking a little seasoning, rice tasted like shrimp stock (ackward) and the empanada was a little too greasy for my taste. The place is kind of dark, no sunlight or anything, which makes the ambiance off.
Nice place with good options on the menu to choose from and nice service overall but still need a lot of improvements, they took too long to serve the food and there were like 5 tables in the entire place, the food was cold. Probably was standing at the kitchen for a while before the waiter served it. The taste is ok, you won’t feel the true Colombia taste. The temperature of the place is too cold as well. To be honest I won’t get back here in a near future.
The negatives: music too loud in all areas, so you wont be able to have a conversation there. Place is very dark. Drinks and food way over priced and the scary part is the tip is included but waitresses and bartenders dont tell you anything so they get extra tiped, and it doesnt specify on reciept. So if you dont ask you get screwed......The positives: beautiful women in there, but again what colombian bar doesnt have beautiful women. Ive only gone once, maybe ill try a second try for happy hr.
Decided to give La Chismosa a try because of what I had seen on their posts. The waitresses didn't disappoint physically they were beautiful but attitude wise they seemed stuck up not very friendly. The dance floor is very small and if you are not lucky to get a table next to it then you will be very unfortunate to have to be very far from it and either you walk all the way to the tiny dance floor and get there half the song left or dance right next to your table. The music could be better, I guess they dont have a DJ because I think even I can do better than what they have there. Lets just say that what La Chismosa has is a DJ, well this man does not mix his music, he plays one song at a time where one minute he plays salsa, next song it's a reggaeton, next musica popular, then merengue but never 2 of the same kind in a row. So, if you are planning to sweat from dancing that probably won't happen unless you dance to every genres, or sweat from all the people elbowing you or stepping on you on the dance floor or from all that walking to get to the dance floor on time before the song finishes. Finaly the crowd, the good thing is that they have a mix of young and old crowd which is good because you get to see some beautiful colombian young ladies and for the women they get to see the young guys. The bad thing is that La Chismosa does not seem to care who steps into their quarters. In this place you can see all kinds of people, some nicely dress and some well you can guess. People with baggy pants, sneakers, baseball caps, people who seem to be high as hell. Some shady characters.
$35 for a bandeja paisa and two sodas?? I almost wasnt able to cover the check expecting a ordinary price from a nice, but ordinary restaurant. Inside was nicely decorated but that price was unforgiveable.
The service was average attention. The place looks very old and dirty. I asked myself, how long ago they clean the restaurant inside?
It’s a nice place and the staff is super friendly, however, I think that the food and drinks are overpriced... $13 for a very simple drink (coconut rum and orange juice) it’s too much...
This is my second time going and the entire experience was just *fine*. Both times the meat simply wasn’t cooked properly. The service was B A D. Our waitress had no interest at being at work. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive, please not there was only one other table that had arrived before us (the restaurant was empty). She didn’t offer us water, she didn’t make sure we had enough napkins (we didn’t). She didn’t explain the delayed food nor offer an apology if any kind. She didn’t check on us during our meal, at all. It was a very lackluster experience. Tonight my friend and I ordered the bandeja paisa and the chicharon was too chewy and parts of the pork chop were dry and stiff. The rice was crunchy, not crispy, crunchy. We both ordered juices, the maracuya was delicious and the mora en leche tasted like perfumed milk, at best.
They told us at the door that there was no space and we had to purchase a bottle to get a table, but when we walked in there was only like 8 people in the whole place. Very lame. Make sure you check the vibe inside before paying for a bottle.
The building and interior decor is beautiful and traditional but man the bandeja paisa left me so disappointed. I prefer my bandeja with carne asada but that wasn't the issue because I love carne molida too. But the issue was that the food didn't taste fresh, it wasnt even hot. The rice was pretty hard and not fresh. Carne molida was cold, lacked flavor.. not fresh. The sausage was also cold and the chicharrón tasted like it had been sitting under a lamp for hours. I went to this restaurant wanting to taste fresh made Colombian food but that wasn't the case, I paid the price for fresh food but felt like I was served leftovers. The waitress was really nice and friendly though. But I won't be returning, I really wanted to like this place because it seems so traditional pero there are plenty of authentic Colombian spots in the area and all over Miami.
I ordered a beef soup, and my daughter ordered the carne asada. Both were bland and tasteless. I love Colombian food, but this was a complete waste of money. I won't tell others to go or don't go. I'll just say that I won't go back. Nope, not me.
I hate when the waitress thinks that you are drunk and try to take your money. Las night I was there and I gave her $20 USD more and she just said...no sorry I don't have more maybe you dropped it around...😤😤😤😤
Do not go to this place!!!!! They need to change the staff The bouncers are doing too much cocaine. They have no control.
Place close but online says open but looks abandoned
Service is below average, they got our orders wrong. They will never come to the table to see if you need anything. Don't waste your money here . The tips are included so they have very poor customer service.
Wow if I could give less stars I would. Not one to typically post but service overall horrible! Not even worth for you to come….managers are specifically inattentive. Idk how this place is still running.
I was excited to try this restaurant but I did not know there was an event going on; however the host lady was very rude when asked if there were any availability without reservations. Bad impression and bad customer service. Will not be back!
Went to this place for the good reviews and decided to go from West Palm Beach even in the page said closes at 3 am we arrived at 0930 pm at a person in the entrance said it is closed! So disappointing 😞 at least have Google info updated!!!
Place is a disappointment for Colombia it self won’t even make it up for ruining someone’s birthday next time I rather drive to Hollywood and spend less money for full service
WORST EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE!!! This is my first review ever because this restaurant deserves it. To start off the girls working here are extremely rude and lazy. We were a party of 4, we only received one menu and we had to ask someone to come take our order because no one came after waiting a long time. Please note than there were only 3 other tables and about 6 people "working". I was told my meal was unavailable after I ordered it, poor staff communication. We did not receive any cutlery, napkins, or sauces and had to take them ourselves from another table. I had to refill my own cup with a water bottle I had with me. People who arrived after us received their meals first, it was so out of hand that the dj ended up serving us. Our meals all arrived at separate times about 10 minutes apart. Mine was cold by the time my friends got theirs. One of the meals was even missing food. Everyone got a refill but me, mine was all ice and getting someone to come and give me water was impossible as the staff ignores you. We had to ask for our bill 3 times and once we got it we got charged for extra drinks. We ended up going up to one of the girls to claim the mistske if not we had to wait for another hour for somebe to pass by. She had a major attitude and, as if it were our mistake when it clearly wasnt. It is so sad because this place has nice decor, but the staff makes Colombians look bad. If you want to be disrespected and experience every possible error a restaurant has to offer than this is the place to go. Every restaurant, even fast food chains I have gone to have better service than this place. Overall, will never step foot here again and neither should you.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could leave no stars, I would. My family and I were treated horribly and turned away at the door. We arrived around 10pm after spending the day as tourists throughout Miami. Apparently after a certain hour it turns into a discotheque and you can no longer come in just for dinner. The hostess told us in spanish that we were underdressed but said it in such a rude way calling us "mochos" which in spanish is like saying riff raff or common. We thought we were going to enjoy a late dinner at a regular looking colombian restaurant but instead were completely offended by the way she spoke to us. The place doesnt even look fancy or exclusive online for her to talk to us in this way and immediately after saying that she was like ok goodbye have a good night in the most rude way as if we were bums asking for change. We definitely weren't dressed in suit and tie but we dont deserve to be treated that way, the hostess could have said what she was saying in a more polite manner. She was acting like we were trying to get into the hottest club in miami when this place is reminiscent of a regular pollos mario in NYC. Left a very bad impression to the point where i felt i needed to write this review to warn others of the extremely rude service.
I order lentil soup and it was old and cold . Not fresh of the day since that would at least be room temperature no it was refrigerator cold . I called to report and the girl on the phone could not respond all she said was it has never happened here before.
Someone please tell the owner to get new bartenders. The short Colombian guy who took care of us was absolutely horrible. On top of being SUPER rude he also charged me high end alcohol and wanted to pour me cheap kind..I saw it. Place is cute & Music was great but service is very important and this place has none.
The hostess at the entrance, a short Hispanic lady, acts like this place is 5star and eye balls you from head to toe. My family and I went for dinner, because it’s advertised as a restaurant. Arrived around 9ish. We arrive and as we are walking in she runs up to us And asks, “can I help you?” (In Spanish). We said, “yea we want to eat Colombian food”. She replied, “our kitchen is closed”, and eye balled us. I said okay?? Is there another restaurant near by, and she pointed to another Colombian restaurant down the street. Mind you, this place is in the hood…Does not, look high end, Nor did the hostess, look anywhere near 5 star. Yet she acted like she was. I came to this place two years ago while visiting Miami. Yet this times experience was not that great.
They automatically add 18% service gratuity to the tip and then also ask for tip with the card machine. We accidentally double tipped and feel tricked.
My visit to Fonda La Chismosa in Miami was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service was unprofessional and unwelcoming. The host and security repeatedly pressured us to purchase an overpriced bottle, to let us in, which completely ruined the experience. Rather than focusing on creating a hospitable and enjoyable atmosphere, the staff seemed more interested in upselling expensive items. The lack of genuine hospitality was unacceptable for a venue that markets itself as a premium spot. With so many great options in Miami, I cannot recommend Fonda La Chismosa to anyone looking for good service or a positive night out. There are far better places where the staff treats you with respect and focuses on providing a great experience rather than pressuring you to spend more money.
