At Wall's Old Fashioned Ice Cream, we're passionate about serving up a taste of nostalgia and warmth to our Miami community. We take pride in our classic ice cream flavors made with love, using only the finest ingredients. Our cozy atmosphere invites you to linger over a scoop (or two) and enjoy good company. Some of our customers rave about the rich flavor of our ice cream, which is a cut above the rest. They also appreciate our relaxed vibe, where they can play a game of damas china or simply enjoy some quiet time with friends.
Wall's Old Fashioned Ice Cream is praised for its tasty, affordable ice cream, though not considered exceptional. Some customers find the service slow and inattentive, with long wait times. The ambiance is considered lacking by some, while others appreciate the family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Tip: Be prepared for potential wait times, especially on sunny days.

Ice cream was delicious! Currently, the new location doesn't have a neon sign you can see from the road, so look for the pizza neon sign!! We spoke to the owner who served us and was very nice!
Wall’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream has the best ice cream in Miami, hands down. My favorites are Coconut Joy, Triple Chocolate and Pralines’n Cream - it’s old fashioned, creamy and so delicious! Oh and if you are looking for great milkshakes and sundaes, you’ll find the absolute best in Miami here! Yum!!!
Walls is a classic 🍨 Felipe and his family are amazing! always serving up some delicious flavors and classics you must try! I just tried their Birthday Cake which was like a vanilla sorbet and a nice birthday cake had a baby 🤤 so good! They also have a Wall Challenge which i did years ago, too many amazing scoops 😋 When you stop by tell Felipe i say 👋
An old fashioned ice cream parlor in 2024. There you can feel that you are traveling in time. From the parking lot to the inside counter you can sense the authenticity. Young courteous employees will welcome you, they are ready to help you to choose which flavor you want to try. The ice cream is tasty and made out of the best ingredients.
So excited about the newest walls ice cream walking distance from my house! Felipe and the team provide excellent customer service and the amazingly delicious ice cream
Such a really old fashioned place. Great attention, the ice creams are really tasty. Truly recommended!
Just a little old place that makes you feel at home. Best dulce de leche ice cream around! Let’s talk about the BEST ice cream shop in south Florida. This is an OG ice scream spot- you can tell by these beautiful pictures really capturing the ambiance of the place. Pictured: cookies and cream milkshake & cookies and cream ice cream with brownie bites on top cutest outdoor seating! The also have a jumbo connet4, hopscotch, and a few old school games! Right across famous big cheese pizza, something sweet to top off your meal!
We had been going to Wall’s for years. The ice cream is delicious, and you have a lot of different flavors to choose from. The attention is spectacular. I recommend it 200%
Amazing place! Please continue to support this business!!! Ice cream is 10/10, friendly + sweet staff. no reason to not come on by.
Delicious ice cream and great concept!
I had never been to Walls even though I drove past it for YEARS and I am so mad I never stopped sooner. The Ice Cream was delicious. The flavor choices were Great, my son says it is the Best Ice Cream he has ever had and I might venture to say I agree. It was really really delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. You got a really nice family vibe from Walls. I tried the Coconut and my son got the Superhero. Yumm!!
Fantastic delicious Ice Cream place. Fresh made Waffle Cones..great Shakes and even Malteds! They even make Egg Creams. Place is awesome but does get busy but so worth any wait. Highly recommended. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Walls always has great icecream with a nice variety of flavors. We received excellent service as always. The heavens opened while we were in there, I recommend water boots for the parking lot after a heavy rain 😆
1st time going there, got a great experience out it. Mixed three flavours together and the results was amazing. Loved the way it's decorated. I would go there after or before the beach. Don't matter because great tasting ice cream is just minutes away!
Hands down the best ice cream and milk shakes in the Dadeland-Kendall area. They make their own ice cream and you can tell its not your typical ice cream joint. Classic Tom and Jerry cartoons always playing which makes this place even cooler. I usually buy a couple of quarts to take home and make my own milk shakes. Great vibe for family visits. Absolutely love this place!
Love love love this place! I eat here every time I'm in the area. They have great homemade ice cream and fudge. The old couple who owns the shop are the sweetest. Also the "drive in" movie vibe is just the cherry on top.
I've been buying this ice cream for years. The flavor and quality never disappoints. Being a 6 foot Black male, customers there have given me weird looks, but the employees and customer service has always been Excellent !!!. Money well spent.
Old-timey ice cream and scrumptious desert emporium. Great date place. You can eat inside or out in the fresh air at a surprisingly secluded area of US-1. They have great variety, you can mix and match, I suggest the banana split. It's a classic that pairs well with this place. Hope it stays successful for many more years.
Haven't been to the ice cream shop yet but I just watched the owner on tv giving out free ice cream cones to people who are in line waiting to put gas ⛽️ To be ready for Irma & it really touched me ! He was so humble and sweet about it and I'm sure this place is as amazing as the manager looks to be. Wow what a kind act to help others ease the wait.
Delicious Icecream in many flavors. They can fix you up a pint of whichever of their flavors you'd like. Small little place, but it's been in Miami forever and it's almost nostalgic. Young crew working, always friendly and patient with customers. They also offer fudge and cookies for sale (based on availability). The chocolate chip cookies are so good! They're soft baked and served warm; therefore they're chewy and gooey. They're cinnamon Icecream is superb!
Great place. Has huge icecream called walls, fun in group
Wall's Old Fashioned Ice Cream never disappoints! I've been eating from this ice cream place ever since high school. This location is tucked away in the heart of South Miami and for a small location; they have a huge selection of flavors! Some flavors are better than others. If you like the whole idea of a challenge you can always participate by doing their "Great Wall of Ice Cream" Challenge; did it once, 4 of us! Finished but never again! Came back after almost 8 years of not having their ice cream. Clearly is still as good as I recall! Really energetic and bubbly staff. Great service! Highly recommended!
A sentimental and delicious favorite. We’ve celebrated many happy milestones here.
All these other reviews telling you this place is lifeless or run down are whack jobs who don't appreciate good Ice cream when it comes along. I've been coming here for over 4 years and I still say "wow this is good" whenever I get ice cream or milkshakes there. The shop is old and a bit small but the staff is always super nice and the ice cream is always super good. If you like Ice cream, you will like walls.
I am so happy to find an ice cream place that offers dairy free options. I went yesterday with my son and we loved the dairy free vanilla ice cream. Everyone was supper nice and welcoming. Thank you for putting a smile in my son’s face. Highly recommend.
Our favorite ice cream place for the past 10 years!!!
This place is great! The milkshakes are delicious! You can pick up to 3 flavors of your choice to put in the milkshake. My choice was strawberry cheesecake and birthday cake.
Great quality ice cream with a fantastic variety of choices. The line is long sometimes but can't be helped because the place is just that good. Definitely worth the wait. Very friendly staff and quick service. I come here often and I never once been disappointed. They even have pre-packaged pints for you to take home and pop in your freezer. All of this is tied together with a very old school ice cream shop image that contrasts quite beautifully next to the hustle and bustle of US1.
*** Sunset Location Equally as Good! *** Great ice cream and friendly service at a reasonable price. It’s been around for many years, but recently attended this ice cream parlor from days gone by. Highly recommend as places like this don’t exist anymore. Visit and enjoy!
Such a great place for the family! I’ve been in Miami since 1992 and first time trying Walls. Gabriel and Maroon were awesome with the kids and very helpful! Definitely coming back!
Gabriel was amazing! He attended to us with so much patience, letting us try different flavors without ever rushing us. His kindness really stood out, and he served us with a great smile and positive energy the whole time. On top of that, he had a fresh haircut that just added to his overall great vibe! Excellent customer service — Gabriel made our visit to Wall’s Ice Cream a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!
the service was great, the young man that helped us was very helpful and the Cookie Monster ice cream was very good and the dulce leche was as well. overall a great experience.
love getting icecream from here the flavors are very tasty and the workers are very nice. the inside has cool decorations as well.
I can’t believe this iconic place will be closing. One word: Heartbroken . No other place like this. Best ice cream in town and the nicest and happiest staff ever . We will miss you 😞😭
My daughter and I have a special tradition of pizza and ice cream every other Friday and this is our go-to spot! She loves all the fun flavors and toppings, and the ice cream is always fresh. It’s the kind of ice cream shop you want to go to, cozy, welcoming, and consistently delicious. Highly recommend!
So sad their original location is closing; glad they will open elsewhere! Great ice cream.
Great place and kinda nostalgic. Walls has been around for a very long time and the place makes you feel like your kinda going back to the 80's. Oh!! Their ice cream is also fantastic but the shakes are wonderful.
Found this place off of an Instagram post and had been looking forward to trying it. For a while now I had been wanting good old fashioned chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and chocolate sprinkles because I was tired of all these new age ice cream spots whose ice cream just aren't rich enough and just don't cut it for me. Walls Old Fashioned ice cream delivered that classic rich ice cream / chocolate flavor and experience. Also enjoyed the music and Tom and Jerry cartoons playing! Definitely look forward to going back very soon!
Walls Old Fashioned Ice Cream is a great spot for families. We came for a school fundraiser originally. Our boys picked chocolate and mint chocolate chip. Both tasted fresh and creamy. The staff moved quickly and kept the line organized. The shop felt clean and welcoming. We will be back.
We had a great experience at the new location of Wall’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream. We were there for our son’s 25th birthday and did the walks challenge. We had 12 flavors of ice cream, each one better than the next! Waiting for the Wall’sHall of Fame pics to come back even if we do miss the old tom n Jerry cartoons outside!
I’ve driven by this place for years and finally decided to give it a try. There aren’t many ice cream shops in Miami that serve up old-feel ice cream instead of overly sugary concoctions, but this place truly surprised me with their creamy delicious flavors. The servers seem to be students of the community in true mom and pop nature. Definitely worth the stop if you’re craving a sweet treat
Hidden gem! Hurry before they see this google Review! Two large scoops, large waffle cone, $7. No fuss. Pick your 2 flavors, large waffle cone, for real. This ice cream , triple chocolate , coconut joy.
This place has been at the heart of so many amazing memories for our family. From the first day of school traditions with friends to celebrating wins on the baseball and soccer fields, in the pool and in the classroom, Wall’s is our spot. It’s been an honor to be a loyal Wall’s customer for years. Cannot wait to see what they do next. Thank you Wall’s for all the yummy memories!
So sad to see the original location close, it truly had so much character and really gave the vibe of an old school ice cream. Still beyond happy the able come to their new location for some good ice cream whenever I want a sweet treat. Can’t wait to see them continue to grow!
Always my favorite go to for ice cream! Great ice cream, excellent customer service. Sad they closed their original location but glad the new location is so close to home!
I really like coming to this place. It has the "classic ice cream place"-kind of vibe to it. I have a tendency to go a little late in the day, so be forewarned: they do run out of milk if you go too late. Which means: no milkshakes. I guess that's a testimony to how good they are because they run out of materials from selling a lot (I'm guessing)? It's a cute/nice little place with only outdoor seating. Great for dessert after a date night. It's also right across the street from The Big Cheese (a great pasta and pizza place), so you could have both dinner and dessert from two different places and only have to find parking once!
I love this place I have been coming since 16 and now turning 32. Also showing the traditional toy little ones. I wish service was consistent with portions. Depending on who the ratio is, trust me I know the ice world I use to be GM for cold stone. Key to the ice cream shop is service and consistency.
This place is so cute and vintage! We got the banana split which was plenty big enough to share with 3 people! It was 6 scoops of ice cream and 4 toppings. I would've given it 5 stars but the ice cream was not the creamiest I've tried. It was great for a trip down memory lane though!
Great ice cream, we went there 2 times while visiting. The staff was very friendly. They were the highlight of our trip where other place weren't so friendly.
This place gives you old ice cream shoppe vibes, cookies were hot, crispy and gooey in the middle. The ice cream was awesome, very homemade.. I would Recommend to anyone in the dadeland/South Miami area.
The ice cream was fantastic! I had two scoops - cappuccino and raspberry sorbet. The hubby got a chocolate shake with whipped cream. The servings were ample and we even got the extra from the cup the shake was made in plus a dollop of whipped cream. Friendly service. Enough parking. Outdoor seating to make up for the small interior. Gave it 4-stars only because they didn't have chopped up Snickers to go with my two-scoops... 😆 But they had a lot of other toppings to choose from. Can't wait to go back!
The place is looking run down. Needs serious TLC. At the very least mop the floors. The ice cream is still awesome. Didn't disappoint.
Place needs some TLC asap. It’s a cute place to bring the family with the nice outdoor seating, but it really needs some attention. A lot of toppings were out of stock and then even ran out of napkins. The kid behind the counter was nice and as accommodating as can be.
We visited here after having lunch at The Big Cheese pizza across the street. It was starting to rain and as we ran across the street one of the workers yelled out the window, “Don’t run! The ice cream isn’t that good!” Joking; but he was right! I’ve lived in Miami for 35 years and passed this place countless times! I had never been before. So I was excited to finally try it. It was pretty disappointing. You know how ice cream gets syrupy and “grainy” when it’s old? You can see the syrupy film on the top, and edges. Like, if your ice cream melts and then you regress it! That was Wall’s ice cream. Pretty gross. I love the old 50’s aesthetic. The inside is very small and cute! They have a lot of board games you can use while eating. The staff was nice and friendly. The prices were a bit high for the low quality. But, I’m glad to say I finally tried it. I wouldn’t go back, but I think everyone should try it at least once.
After lunch in the area and reading the good reviews we headed to Wall's for dessert before leaving South Miami. For the last seven years it has been owned by Felipe Grabiel who managed to survive the pandemic by adding a takeout window to the outside. The ice cream shop has been a community staple for years and Gabriel used to bring his own kids here before he owned it. Wall's has a nostalgic look with it's red and white striped building and checkerboard floor. There are a couple of tables inside and more out front and on a side deck. My first impressions of the inside were it good use a good cleaning. Tables were dirty and walls and floor needed a scrubbing. Wall's specializes in classic flavors like pistachio, vanilla, coffee, Oreo Heath bar, and strawberry are scooped out of a tub which can be turned into hakes, sundaes, malts and old fashioned sodas. Additionally there are seasonal and no sugar flavors. They also sell fudge although I didn't actually see any. Wall's is famous for their Great Wall Challenge which requires you to finish 5.5 pounds, 36 scoops of ice cream, 3 dry toppings, 2 wet toppings, banana, brownie, whipped cream, and a cherry. If you can do it your picture is placed on the wall of fame. I settled on a scoop of chocolate chip mint that could have used more chocolate. and which was scooped by an anemic teenager with his ear buds in who looked like he would rather be anywhere but here. He couldn't wait to sit back down and go on on his phone. The gentleman who helped my friend seemed more energetic. I can see how if you lived in the neighborhood this might be a good place to stop by with your kids. They had it decorated cutely for the holidays but all the inflatables were laying there lifeless. I personally prefer artisanal ice cream and everything at Wall's from the ice cream, to the service, to cleanliness made this a one and done for me.
Ice cream is always good. Inventory of items is very lack luster. They didn't have most of the items on the menu.
Pros: arrived a couple minutes early (even though the door was open) and the young man there was courteous enough to serve us. He deserved his “college tuition”. The milk shakes we had were just right in consistency and flavorful. Cons: the price seemed a bit high, but I guess that is what you get if you are buying from a mom and pop shop. Seems like they had forgotten to replenish ice cream flavors that had run out the night before - couldn’t get a flavor we wanted. But the one reason why I won’t be going back is the smell of urine that we felt from car to door. I’m guessing the homeless make pit stops after hours - I don’t know, but at the very least ownership should give the entrance area a good hose down with something to kill the stench.
Ice cream was good. The venue is a dump. Went with the kids to buy ice-cream at night. The entire front outside sitting area, handicap ramp and parking lot was in pure darkness. Be very, very careful walking through this area to go inside. The two young men inside are very unanimated. One was busy watching one of the "John Wick" movies and the other was eating his dinner from the Big Cheese. Basically just collecting a paycheck. Bottom line, ownership seems to be waiting for the right million dollar offer for the property, thus the poorly kept venue.
Muy rico, pero el servicio es lento. Tuve que esperar media hora por un helado. Terrible espera pues había mucho sol.
I must say, In today’s ice cream market you have some unbelievable flavors/ingredients/ taste! That’s not the case at this place. Very generic flavors with not much taste. I asked the employee if they make there own ice cream on premises (she said yes) on the container it says made by a company names (Today’s) I only wanted 1 scoop. She said all cones come with 2 scoops. The charge was $5.02 I gave her $6 / She gave me .95 change in nickels!! I’ve heard a lot about this place and it seems to be a local favorite, but it seems to me that it’s more nostalgia than anything else. So many better Ice cream stores around town.
Ice cream was very good. But the place is super dirty. Me and my family had to eat in the car because of how dirty it was. Some of the tables had dead bugs. I am a Spanish speaker and none of the workers knew Spanish so u had to translate everything to my family.
Today I asked the staff at Wally’s Ice cream if there was a flavor with NO artificial coloring. And the answer was: “ALL of our flavors have artificial coloring” I then saw that as part of their mission statement they indicate they take pride On their product and care about their customers. How is it possible to.care about the customers offering such artificial and full of chemicals ice creams.
This place is so cute has so much potential I don’t understand why it is so FILTHY INSIDE!!! I’ve passed by it for years, so I decided to give it a try bc my kids love ice cream. It isn’t a little messy inside, it’s filthy. I can tell they literally never clean. Every surface is dirty. I was so turned off by the smell when I walked in. The cookie box looks filthy. The t-shirt on the wall has loads of dust on it. The floors are disgusting. Tables dirty. A review on here from 6 years ago states the same issue, which means they’ve never corrected it. The owner has to be incredibly careless and has no regard for his customers safety or health to run an establishment like this. I’m not returning until they do a DEEP CLEAN. It’s so sad the owner doesn’t care about his business, what could be an adorable old fashioned ice cream shop. They have all new technology to accept all forms of payment, but can’t invest in cleaning supplies. What a shame. Owner only cares about money, not his business or customers..
Walls is part of my youth and I have fond memories of it. I haven’t gone in years so I decided to visit. Nothing has changed for both the good and bad- a bit of repainting wouldn’t hurt. The clerks were really sweet and friendly and I appreciate that kind of service. I had a small sundae and it was oddly too sweet? I thought nothing of it because hello? It is ice cream and I added caramel sauce to boot. Though as I got home I had a stomach and lo and behold — food poisoning. Something was off, the caramel sauce? The ice cream? ( I got Oreo and heathbar and cookie dough) I don’t know what it was but my stomach hasn’t been the same 🤢 It’s a real shame, I have fond memories of this place and I get paint peels and cracks but serving bad food is crossing the line.
I went to Walls on a Sunday afternoon, they had one employee taking both the orders and serving the ice cream which resulted in half an hour wait to get my ice cream sundae and it was window service only because of this. On top of that my Sundae had hardly any fudge or marshmallow sauce, no whipped cream and the pistachio ice cream was of very poor quality with lots of coloring as it was bright green and if anyone knows about pistachio ice cream, it’s more of a creamy color. Paid $6.22 for this and totally disappointed. Many people still waiting to order left because of the wait time and frankly I would have too if I hadn’t already paid. Many years ago this place had good service and product, but it’s declined over the years and it’s more about the nostalgia of an ice cream shop than the quality of their ice cream. Will not be recommending or going back!
2 kids closed the place down by 9:30pm. While waiting at least 10 others came to buy icecream and turned away. I hope their boss sees this. crazy.
Ice cream says old fashioned but it tastes like low quality store bought ice cream. Not old fashioned not homemade not churned. The rocky road was frozen and bad. The dulce de leche didn’t taste like dulce de leche it didn’t taste like anything. The triple chocolate wasn’t good either. We went here as a group for the first time and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND 😔
I have been coming here with my family for years. Today I went with my son to buy some ice cream and the two young girls had a terrible attitude almost as if they wish they weren’t there. I asked about flavors and she looked so annoyed. I didn’t leave a tip and the she had the nerve to call me an ** hole! I hope the manager or owner reads this and takes appropriate action. People like this should not be working ina. Customer service environment especially a place like Walls which has such a nice history.
This place is so dirty I would never take my child, from the Air Conditioner air was coming out to dusty American flags and dust is going to the Ice cream. I tried the Pistachio and the colorant and taste had nothing to do with pistachio. Server don’t use gloves they give you plastic spoon for taste with bare hands 🤢 My friend had a egg cream and tasted like watery Nesquik 😱 Get a Gelato somewhere else
This place has seen much better days. The entire facility looks extremely worn out and abandoned, in urgent need of TLC. The shop is so dirty, it feels unsanitary to have an ice cream there. One can tell it was a popular place in the past but the negligence of its owners has completely ruined the experience for its customers. What a shame.
I’ve never experienced bad ice cream in my life until I came here. The ice cream has no flavor, establishment looks dirty, and the ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn. The floors were FILTHY. Would not recommend
This place used to be our favorite ice cream shop. It’s so sad to see the condition it’s in now. The floors are disgustingly dirty, and the entire place looks worn out. Please do better, Walls Ice Cream.
Great location and vibe. Horrible ice cream. Tasted icy and grainy. I tried the coconut and it had a bad artificial coconut flavor. Honestly save your money and go to anywhere else. Even a McDonald’s sundae would have been a step up.
To the owners of this place. The ice cream is good. The inside of this place is extremely dirty. Look at the actuator vents, walls, floor and everything in between. Dust, dirt and grime everwhere.
They moved across the street to a food truck next to Big Cheese. Ordered 2 scoops Cookies and cream. The Ice cream was great but tye scoops were more like table spoons. Paid $7 . Left unsatisfied.
