Congratulations to Rob and the Meeple Valley team on creating such a wonderful addition to the community! Opening day impressions: - Fantastic value with $7 day pass and $35 monthly membership! - Great selection of games in the lending library and for sale out of the gate. Options for all ages and schedules. - As promised in the name, they've got a small selection of snacks so you can continue playing when parched or famished. - Don't be afraid to drop by for a "pick up game" if you're a solo gamer or small group of players. They're adding a bulletin board and programming to encourage player connections, but I'm willing to bet you'll find people happy to welcome you into a game. A stranger and I jumped into a game within 15 minutes of walking through the door this busy Saturday. - Highly recommend Tokaido Duo as a fast-to-learn, fast-paced game for two players. Two first-time players went from unsealing the box to first play through in about an hour. Appropriately enough, it features meeples!

I am a (in)frequent customer of Meeple Valley. I started visiting for the board games but kept visiting for those Tony's microwaveable pizzas. They taste like childhood. And what better place to enjoy the taste of childhood than a place where you can re-experience the joys first introduced during childhood? They sell everything from the classics to the most complex RPGs you've ever heard about. They have accessories, dice, card sleeves, miniatures, game-piece upgrades, 3D printed trinkets which support another small business, all kinds of things. Personally, I'm a fan of Star Wars: Unlimited, a game for which they host in-house tournaments. Not to mention they have an overwhelming amount of games in their rental library, even some for toddlers. They host monthly RPG sessions with guest dungeon masters. They sponsor events alongside USS Balthazar that support local charity organizations like the Board Game Extravaganza; my wife and I had a great time getting to test new game ideas and dipping our toes in D&D. Plus we took a few games home as raffle prizes! I visited once while a local business hosted a party at the Meeple Valley and the place was roaring with laughter. It's truly a pleasure to have this shop in the neighborhood.

Great place to spend time with the family or make new friends and try out new board games

Great time playing a game from the library for about 3 hours with a friend! Highly recommend checking out if you are into board games, or just not sure as they have a huge variety of types, genres, and difficulty.

What a fantastic idea! Try out a game before you buy, or host a game somewhere other than your house (for those of us with very small houses.) Tons of games to try, and snacks available for purchase. For $7, use someone else's air conditioner?! What a deal. Clean restroom. Will visit again.

Best $7 (each) I’ve spent in a while! My husband and I love board games and we love to play new ones without having to buy them first (then find out we hate them). They have a great library of games to play and an awesome selection of games to buy. They also have snacks and drinks for a super reasonable price. Super friendly and helpful, their gaming tables are awesome. We had a great time and will be back.

This is a wonderful business. There are lots of tabletop products, minis, paint, books, and tons of card and board games. The prices are good! It's very affordable to rent table space for the day and try out board games! You can play as long as you want, and this lets you try boardgames before you buy them. Definitely come here with some friends to play and support a good local business. I definitely want this place to stay open. They also have lots of events and groups you can join. Check them out!

One of the best board game shops around. You can sit and play any of over 200 board games in their library. The shop is very clean and is run by very friendly staff. I will be back soon!

Great place to have fun, play game's of all variety including boardgames, RPG and more. Game rentals and for purchase. Lots of tables. Open every day. The owner operators are great, friendly and you could come in off the street and start playing. Cheaper than going to the movies or out to eat and twice as fun. Meet awesome people and make friendships along the way.

Rob and Bob are awesome and the game selection in the library cannot be beat. Pay one low price for a day full of gaming with any game in the library, or buy a game to take home.

Meeple Valley has been a breath of fresh air for the folks of Modesto. Day by day we see the value of "third places"--as in not work/school or home where folks can spend time, becoming more and more important. Meeple Valley is a safe, fun place where you can make friends, try new things, and spend time with your loved ones without having to stress about 'what will we do' or 'does the living room look nice enough' or 'what if we get hungry'? With the addition of snacks and beverages available for purchase, along with a Mexican restaurant next door that delivers, and the most wonderful hosts in Bob and Rob you can take it easy and have a great time. The entry fee is affordable, the monthly membership is a deal, and the memories will last a lifetime.

Very lovely people! We got to meet the creator of a game we were interested in, she was wonderful. We bought some games and were able to play them right then and there at the tables. If we wanted to try out a game before buying, theres a big library of board games to be able to play too! Such a cool place.

Meeple Valley is a hidden gem! We were visiting from out of town and stumbled across this place—so glad we did. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Their game library is fantastic, with a wide variety of titles for all types of players. Whether you're into strategy games, party games, or something in between, you'll find something to enjoy here. The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and perfect for spending an afternoon or evening gaming. Highly recommended for locals and travelers alike!

Super comfortable and welcoming game (nerd) store. They have a huge game library so you can grab a table and play for 7 bucks each! All of the employees were helpful and kind. POPS Comics Board games Dice Figurines. Great for date night or BFF get together. They have snacks and drinks for sale.

Absolutely fantastic local game store! For $7 you can come in and play board games all day long, using their broad board game library. The AC is rock solid, so it's super comfortable in there If you're looking to get into DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) or any other tabletop role playing games, this is the BEST place in town, hands down. Go join their Discord that's listed on their website, there are DMs constantly recruiting to play games, mostly in the 5e DnD system. If you're nervous about playing because you're afraid that players won't be welcoming to someone brand new, don't worry at all, everyone is extremely supportive 10/10 place, I'm here at least once a week to play DnD games with friends I met here
