Black Fox Coffee is hands down one of my favorite cafés in NYC. Even though it’s a chain, the location near Grand Central has become a regular stop for me. I usually think the espresso drinks I make at home are better than what I get in most commercial cafés—but Black Fox is the exception. I often find myself happily walking a few blocks just to sit down with a latte or cortado. Every cup is consistently well-balanced, rich, creamy, and just straight-up enjoyable. I also love picking up beans here. They roast their own, and while those have a very distinctive (and kind of wild) soy sauce aroma that might not be for everyone, they do carry the Red Brick from a UK roaster—and that’s where the magic happens. It’s a fruity, modern espresso that’s smooth, sweet, and addictive in the best way. The space is bright and well-designed, with a great retail selection of brewing gear, merch, and snacks. It’s clear that they designed the space to be uncomfortable to not let you stay long. However, whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or a total espresso nerd, Black Fox hits the spot.

I’d been to one of the other locations a few years ago, but this one is a great size without being unnecessarily big. Good selection of coffee and gear to buy, as well as great coffee and pastries. The cortado and banana bread that I had were excellent!

Who woulda thought a butterscotch latte was this tasty? Certainly not me! Don’t knock it til you try it. I'll admit I was a little hesitant when it was suggested by the associate that I give it a try. So glad I did! ⚠️Warning: Not your grandma’s Werther’s candy she used to carry around with her. Nothing at all like that! But a bit more subtle.

Lovely coffee shop! I opted for the maple pecan latte which was very good, not too sweet, and nutty. They have a bunch of different drinks that seem very tasty and that you don’t see everywhere! A few seatings inside in a lovely atmosphere. The service was very quick and very warm. I didn’t try any of theirs pastries but they seemed very good as well. I’ll come back!

Very nice coffee store with the sesame Thai Latte! Yummy 😋 I was surprised to find a cute sign on the floor when I stepped out today. I hadn't noticed it before. Thank you for bringing a little happiness to my day🎊 Even though there's not much space, I can tell the dedicated designed provides a cozy space and mood to customers too with power plugs. This store is perfect for people who work around this area to get coffee during their break. Nice! Highly recommended!

Great coffee and very quick, even during the morning rush (less than 5 min). Went 2 days in a row while at a conference nearby. Unique flavors which were so good, and not too sweet. I had butterscotch and maple Pecan for my lattes and the milk was so frothy, really a perfect coffee to start the day. I didn’t have any of the food, but the croissants looked really fresh and good, plus they were huge. Definitely stop by if you’re looking for your morning coffee near grand central.

Honestly stopped in because I loved their logo design. They had some exciting latte flavors, a decent pastry selection, and plenty of seriously well designed coffee accoutrements. I'm not usually one to buy coffee shop related sundry but some of their stuff was seriously cute. Contemplated a pin, but then reminded myself I never use pins lol. If they had stickers, would 10/10 have bought a bunch.

Great coffee spot! I was venturing around here on business and was looking for a new coffee place to try and so happy I came across this place (and the helpful reviews!) The storefront is nice and big, and the barista greeted me right away. They have a cool design in place of a mat that caught my eye. Before ordering and the menu I noticed they had a bunch of merchandise! Upon inspection everything was really high quality and desirable stuff (think Starbucks but Black Fox Coffee logos and merch). I’m definitely getting some next time I return! They also had a nice display in their pastry case. I tried the iced Matcha dessert and was impressed; it was a nice treat. Their coffee was really good too. Hints of arabica but felt like a medium-dark roast which is closer to what I prefer. Really good stuff. Saw quite a few people going in and out while I enjoyed my order and hope the foot traffic stays high. The barista was also really nice and accommodating to all my small extra requests with no problems. Great spot! Definitely add it to your coffee tour if your in NYC.

One of the best coffee shop in the town Very clean place The variety of products is good & tasty I prefer to for morning ( espresso with pain au chocoat ( chocolate croissant ) ) tell them to warm it is better. The price is moderate

Small intimate, no nonsense shop with good espresso drinks, limited selection of bakery goods and limited seating. My only complaint is no available restroom for patrons.

I got a large Americano (3 espresso shots) which wasn't written on the menu (came out to $5.44). It has a slight acidity to it which is nice but lacked depth and body. I would give the cafe another shot as I really liked the interior and vibe but the customer service could have been much better. Iced latte was very weak and super expensive. Paid over $6.

This is what it looks like when an otherwise nice espresso drink is made way too hot and I have to let it sit for literally fifteen minutes to be able to drink it. Good baristas should be able to make a latte at a reasonable temperature; too hot to even pick up comfortably is not that temperature, and is frankly what I would expect from a Starbucks, not a cafe known for being among the best in the city. If you're going to charge 7 dollars for a latte, it should be made right every time. Yet every time I stop in, drinks are always made way too hot. It's a shame because the underlying ingredients are quite good quality, and the espresso itself is always very nice.
