Definitely the best and flavorful fried chicken in NYC. Pies and Thighs is nice but I give my nod to Bob White. The only challenge is getting here on the subway. Expect a 15 min walk from the nearest subway line.

The chicken was delicious if you are from New York or just visiting I definitely recommend this as one of your stops. Everything we got was really good. The only thing they need to change is to use the same seasoning from the strips / grilled wrap on the bone in chicken because then it would be way better.

The menu is burgers and chicken tender plates with sides like Mac and cheese, fries or collard greens. Staff are super friendly as well. Well worth heading over there.

I love this location. It’s my favorite. I always get the Honey chicken Biscuit or the tenders box and they never disappoint. I highly recommend anyone who is in the East village and looking for quick bites to eat. Great atmosphere, calm music and great vibes.

Everything is good there is nothing bad about this spot. With that being said the chicken sandwich is like a better Chick-fil-A sandwich, if you like that style that is great. The fried chicken is very consistently juicy and tasty. Imo fresh popeye fried chicken is better than it but you rarely can get fresh out of fryer Popeye. Thus if you want consistently good fried chicken this is the spot.

I love their mac and cheese, they use the extra long swirly pasta and the sauce is really creamy. Just a great little spot with a good food at a great price. Expect some wait time if you have more than 2 people, it’s a small space.

WOW. I love fried chicken and this is good fried chicken. Lives up to the reputation. I came here with my partner and her friend and we were not disappointed. It's a favorite of hers and now of mine. I got the chicken little with collard greens. Those were really good, the biscuits were buttery and delicious. I ordered more of them once I had mine so they could try them (she only ever gets the chicken sandwich here, which she loves. Imagine an actually good version of Chik-Fil-A) and I ended up ordering more chicken because I loved it so much. That mac n cheese was very good as well. We will be coming back!

Bobs Whites no matter the day, time or weather has some of the best chicken sandwiches in the city. I would highly recommend checking it out. The service is fast and consistent. My only complain is that there is a .10 difference between the spicy and regular chicken sandwich, while I know they’re not putting 10¢ worth of seasoning on the chicken. It is seasoned well though maybe 3¢ worth haha. This is a perfect meal after going bar hopping in the LES/ East Village. I always get the spicy chicken sandwich along with the Mac and cheese.

I ordered the standard one. This is simply the best "plain" chicken one can have for the flavour chosen. It is packed with flavour and texture is extremely good. Flavour-wise, it is not overly salty, hence eating it does not feel overwhelming. Added with the Bobwhite sauce, i really cannot see any problems with the chicken. The price is also relatively cheap, and toilets and tables are clean. A little slow, but definitely justified for how good the chicken tastes

My favorite place in alphabet city! They take great care of local customers. I ordered uber delivery last week and the driver never delivered my order. I live close to the restaurant and walked over to reorder and they remade my order free of charge. They are my go to and NEVER Forget any of my sauces!

These people know how to fry chicken. This is some amazing southern food. The buffalo chicken sandwich is unreal I get it a few times a month. It’s a small spot so probably crowded at prime times but everything here is terrific so it’s worth it. Y’all this wrap was FIREEEEE!!! I got the buffalo chicken caesar wrap y’all that ish was so refreshing yet the chicken stayed so crunchy I was actually impressed. The buffalo and the caesar dressing flavors worked perfectly and the wrap was a pretty decent size. I also got the raspberry tea which on first sip felt a little watered down with not as much flavor as I’d hoped, but the more I ate the wrap the more the drink tasted so delicious.

I initially tried the famous Bobwhite Counter chicken Caesar wrap at a food festival and it was pretty good but I never went to the actual restaurant until now. Me and a friend decided to pull up and it did not disappoint. Atmosphere is small with a limited amount of seating. Plus they have a kiosk where you can digitally order your food. If you ask me, this is a better version of Chick-fil-A. They specialize in chicken but have a variety of flavors and options to choose from. I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered the famous chicken Caesar wrap with a lemonade. The Caesar wrap was nice and warm. With the perfect amount of dressing. That chicken was fresh, crispy, and juicy. I enjoyed this Caesar wrap. Also, it wasn’t too heavy. The lemonade was sweet and refreshing. Can’t complain. I ordered through the kiosk, but service is good here. My food didn’t take too long. Honestly they may see me again in the near future… I came back a couple days after. I got the truffle chicken sandwich, Mac & cheese, and lemonade. I love the simplicity of the menu I feel like I could come in here and order anything and be satisfied. I brought a friend from out of town here and they got the same items as me. They enjoyed it too. I forgot his name but shout out to the guy with the dreads who works here. He helped me decide to get the Mac & cheese which was really good.

Very good fried chicken. Open late (bless)! Split a box of tenders and fries with my friend for dinner. Bob white sauce is pretty good, maybe a sweeter version of chick fil a sauce. I think these tenders would be better with a BBQ. Overall very great fried chicken. VERY GOOD fries!!!! Biscuit was nice — and not too dry. Apparently the Caesar wrap is yummy too, I believe it.

Stopped in to get something quick, after leaving a bar. I got a Buffalo chicken wrap. It was good, but not great. The Nashville chicken sandwich my wife had looked better, and it definitely had more flavor. Prices are great here though. Service is quick and you order at the counter then sit and wait on your order. Be prepared to take your food to go as the sitting area is very small.

No thrills made to order EPIC fried chicken. Buffalo chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked and sauced. I added avocado and skipped the ranch sauce. French fries were a bit soggy but a very large portion. Wraps also very good. You order at the counter on a screen. Limited indoor seating and some covered outdoor seating. Perfect to sit outside when it’s nice out!

Since we intended on doing a walk starting from the South East part of the island and on to the Southsea Seaport we thought we'd start off with lunch at Bob White's since it had been on my list of places to go try out. The restaurant is quite small but had a reasonable amount of seating and we had no problem getting a seat on Sunday for a late lunch. The staff were friendly and walked us quickly through the small menu and options. Nothing particularly complicated. Both myself and my husband went for fried chicken, tenders for him and pieces for me. I felt the pieces were slightly over fried but still nice. Though not as good as Popeyes, I like the crunchy coating more. It's nice that the restaurant didn't feel the need to overcharge for their menu items either. If you're in the area and in need of some fried chicken give them a whirl.

Nice place over by Avenue C. The Mac n cheese was average, but the wings, biscuits and chicken sandwich were very good! The wings were well cooked and the skin was crunchy but not falling apart like other places. I’d come again, plus our male server was cute. 😉thanks for the idea on the slow clapping on our late friend. 🤣

Time out says that it is a #1 place for fried chicken in NYC. Well, they are wrong. The chicken isn't bad but it's not the best and I know a good fried chicken when I have it. The seasoning is there but my thing is not juicy enough and at times it's dry. Plus they only have tenders - I want a bigger variety. Buffalo chicken wrap is very nice - it's a bit spicy, it is juicy and saucy. I would get it again for sure. The sauces are very nice. Fries are a bit soggy but they look and taste homemade. Biscuits are very good - I enjoyed them. I must add that the sweet iced tea is also delightful - not overly sweet but still feels sugary.

the buffalo chicken sandwich was very tender, with a simple buffalo sauce that felt like it needed a bit more tanginess, or maybe less ranch. The side of baked mac & cheese was excellent—creamy, rich, and with some bits of the layer of gratinated cheese. Chocolate chip cookies where decent with a rich, buttery flavor.

I've been coming for years and yes the quality has dropped over time but it's still a solid choice to get good fried chicken. Probably my big complaint is the breading has become less crunchy over time. Its still delicious but I miss the old breading.

Ate there a couple times and it is a better KFC. juicier chicken. Better mac & cheese; looks average but it’s good. Biscuit ain’t much better honestly but I still enjoy it. Update: 7/27/24 The prices have gone up and the food has fallen off. Looking at my previous reviews, makes me question if they were ever really good to begin with. I ordered a chicken sandwich and Mac cheese last week and half of the chicken breast was fried dry. Earlier today, my daughter and I ordered tender boxes. They arrived warm within 15mins tasting like unseasoned chicken fried in unseasoned flour. No seasoning at all. What a waste of money. Dropped in for Saturday lunch with my kids. The waiter suggested the catfish which was a bust. Greasy and zero flavor. Stick with the basics like Chicken tenders or chicken biscuit. They are delish. Mac & cheese was pretty good as well. I wouldn't recommend delivery. It took so long I had my daughter pick it up. Then I had to walk back to get my correct order b/c i was given two orders of fries and no mac & cheese. Update: i tried the chicken sandwich today. I was so hungry I stood in the rain and took a bite. That chicken was so dry. Had I not been so hungry I would have grequested another sandwich. But instead I stood out front and ate it. I'm just sticking to the chicken biscuit from now on. Again lol. My friend tried it and said she tasted no honey with the biscuit. I hope that's not the case when we go back. Overall good service and experience.

I heard about this spot from employees at Origins NYC. They always order great food so I figured I would try it out. They have no indoor seating but seating for 8 people out front. The menu is simple. They have sauces that you have to pay .50 cents extra for. They are most known for their chicken sandwich. I ordered Spicy chicken sandwich, lemonade and Mac and cheese. The chicken sandwich would have been amazing if it was fresh off the fryer. I bought and ate within 5 mins and the sandwich was completely at room temperature

I was on Instagram, and that's what made me want to go there, but nope. The mac and cheese was dry. The collard greens and black-eyed peas were more beans and stems than anything. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I don't know; you be the judge!!!

Not what it once was sadly. The sides and sauces are still good... but now they don't do anything except tenders! The most bland form of fried chicken. Even the chicken sandwich is just tenders. Are they cutting corners or just catering to the changing neighborhood as the college kids from Connecticut move in and gentrify the place? Either way, sad to see.

This place has gone way downhill unfortunately due to what appears to be cost cutting. All they serve now are boring tenders in a variety of ways, the most flavorless cut. No more proper chicken sandwiches, no more proper fried chicken, just basic and bland McNuggets for the college crowd. May as well just get rid of all the sauces and just serve ketchup.

Over the past 3 years, Bob White has dropped fried chicken, dropped their amazing chicken sandwich, and has shrunk the sizes of their tenders boxes. I went in for a chicken sandwich, a six piece tenders box and mac and cheese. I left empty handed and went over to Blue Ribbon fried chicken to buy what I can no longer get at Bob White. If you want CHICKEN, skip Bob White.

Used to be the best. Unfortunately since they sold out and have clearly made cutbacks they have drastically reduced the menu both in quantity and quality. They've stopped doing the proper spicy chicken sandwich and the proper bone in fried chicken. Now it's literally just bland tenders for boring white transplants. A shadow of its former self.

Used to be my absolute favorite fried chicken spot in the city. Insane to think they would take their #1 item off the menu and stop selling bone in chicken. I genuinely couldn’t believe it. I’m sad to say the food quality has definitely dropped over the years as well, seemingly just to maximize profit. They sold out, simple as that. Hopefully they go back to their roots and bring back real chicken one day. Until then, take your money elsewhere.
