Ladybird New York Reviews
We enjoyed a wonderful brunch with vegetarian takes on chilaquiles and bao buns. A very nice menu with both large and small portion options. That said, it was about $100 w/o tip and only coffee and no alcohol. There’s something for all. Service was fine but maybe not as attentive as I might have expected. The restaurant was full by the time we finished. We arrived without a reservation but our party of three didn't have to wait to be seated. We agreed. We would return for another meal. Look for the red door. Signage is small.
Everything we tasted here was excellent. An outstanding vegan spot with a great menu. We came for a birthday party and got a bowl cocktail which was so delicious and ended up being a great deal for 6 people! The ONLY feedback I have for this place is that their decor is a bit maximalist and I hate to say it but it’s ‘cheugy’. They would certainly benefit from a style revamp, but do not judge this place by the ridiculous neon sign in the window because the food is SO GOOD! Not to mention the attentive and kind service.
We had gone to Ladybird for dessert one evening and decided we'd go back for dinner one day. So we had a small birthday celebration at Ladybird and it was phenomenal! The meals were delicious and beautiful! Everything was excellent! Some of the plates were shareable, such as the Kimchi mac and cheese. After dinner, we ordered each of the desserts and were blown away! Now, let's talk about the staff. We were warmly welcomed as we entered and attended to with care and generosity. I believe Maya (the young lady from The Islands) took care of us. They made my daughter feel celebrated on her special day. They made us all feel great and well-cared for. You won't even notice that everything is vegan! One of our party was very skeptical of the food. Even she agreed that the entire meal, even the mocktail, was wonderful! I highly recommend Ladybird! Even if you're not vegan, give it a try! You will be pleased!
The decoration style is extremely sweet and charming, making it very suitable for girls to hang out. The food is also delicious. 👌
My husband and I treated our teen daughters to a Valentine’s Day brunch at Ladybird, and it was the perfect way to celebrate together. The food was incredible — every dish beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious. And the atmosphere? Chic, vibrant, and seriously Insta-worthy — our teen daughters were obsessed. We savored every bite and every moment. Recommend for a family celebration that feels a little elevated and a lot of fun.
I agree with all of the reviews about how great the food is (mainly the baos), but I just wanted to appreciate the music here! I have been several times and every time the music has been great. Most recently a Kali Uchis, Doja Cat, SZA, The Marias, Estelle kind of vibe. It’s always upbeat but still chill enough to not be distracting. It fits the atmosphere perfectly and I also appreciate that it’s not so loud that you can’t hear any conversation
Been here like 6 times this year! And have taken 4+ non vegan friends & family members on different occasions and they all loved it. Specifically for their Bao Buns & drinks ! They have happy hour on weekdays. Great flavors & service! & the bathroom decor is soo cute! Great for selfies 10/10 recommend !
My wife and I had an amazing brunch at Ladybird! We arrived right as they opened and the staff was attentive and friendly. The tiramisu french toast was incredible (especially as vegans, getting this at a restraunt is an amazing experience!) and the BEC bao was a delicious savory dish - some of the best mushroom bacon we've ever had!
Our server was so warm & welcoming & attentive. We enjoyed the tiramisu pancakes, egg sandwiches, b’fast potatoes, avocado toast, and the sangria cocktail- Everything was so flavorful & delicious! We had non-vegan family with us & the loved the food! The interior atmosphere is quaint & unique, the food is delish, the service is exceptional- highly recommended - We visit every time we come to the city!
Loved my experience here. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. You can tell they put a lot of love into their food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommend this restaurant even if you're not vegan you'll love the food. We had just about everything on the menu and all of it was delicious
Brought my family here. We had a blast. The food is delicious! Waitress was quite rude to our family, did not appreciate being asked questions about the menu... But we did not let her sass dampen our moods for our lovely night out. The names of birds for the cocktails are clever -there were also mocktails for the other half of our party that doesn't drink! Cocktails were alright, a little weak. But we did not mind, as we came for the food. The macaroni and cheese was insanely delicious. We could not get enough of the broccoli! Flavourful and ADDICTIVE! Would definitely come back. The area is cute, and the atmosphere is decorated so fun.
Ladybird is an exceptional vegan restaurant that truly elevates plant-based dining. The presentation of every dish is absolutely stunning — colorful, creative, and plated with real artistry. The variety of dishes is impressive, offering something for everyone, from indulgent comfort foods to beautifully balanced small plates. Each bite is packed with flavor and freshness, making it a delight even for non-vegans. The atmosphere is chic and cozy, perfect for a night out with friends or a special date.
Brunch was delicious, must come back for dinner. We ordered the BEC Buns, French Toast, and potatoes. Everything was perfect! Service was friendly and fast. We had a reservation, our seating was ready and waiting for our arrival. Were were celebrated with a complimentary drink for our anniversary.
This was our first time at Ladybird and OMG we were incredibly impressed. Stunning space, super sweet/attentive server, and the food was AWESOME! We shared three different items for brunch. We had the BEC Bao Buns, and loved them so much! The mushroom bacon was great, and that is coming from someone who doesn't normally touch mushrooms. The Breakfast Potato side is outstanding. We loved the black garlic aioli. The Brunch Sandwich was really delicious and also came with breakfast potatoes. Overall we loved our meal and experience here. I can't wait to go back in the fall for dinner when I am visiting again!
Ladybird is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a fantastic, cozy, and romantic atmosphere that's simply stylish. But what truly sets Ladybird apart is the incredibly tasty food - every bite is a delight! The drink menu is equally impressive, with something for every taste. I had the best brunch at Ladybird in New York! The food was absolutely delicious, with creative and beautifully presented vegetarian dishes that exceeded all expectations. Every bite was so tasty, and the ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was so nice and cozy - I felt right at home from the moment I walked in. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect from start to finish. If you’re looking for an exceptional brunch spot in the city, Ladybird is a must-visit. I can’t wait to be back for both brunch and dinner!
Enjoyed Ladybird on Monday. I felt the food I ordered was average vegan food. The Mac and cheese stood out and was very tasty. Ambience was just ok. It had a bit of a stale smell and bar seating was a bit cumbersome. The bartender was very nice and attentive. Really only visited because a friend had dietary restrictions as a vegan and my go to vegan place was closed for renovations. Nice experience but I definitely left a bit underwhelmed and as an omnivore … I definitely felt like I had just eaten “vegan” food which I don’t think is great.
Visited the day after July 4th and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. The restaurant is on the smaller side with a cozy, charming bar, though it felt like the space was slightly behind on cleaning and upkeep- possibly due to the post-holiday rush. Service was efficient but leaned toward rushed and impersonal. The cocktails were underwhelming: watered down and forgettable. I’d recommend skipping them and focusing on the food instead. We ordered the bao trio, which was a highlight-each one with its unique, delicious flavor. The kale salad was another standout: crisp, well-prepared, and packed with flavor. Definitely a must try. The vegan macaroni and cheese was indulgent and rich. While I’m not usually a mac and cheese person, this version would definitely appeal to anyone who loves vegan cheese. We ended with the strawberry cheesecake, which was the perfect close to the meal-light, mildly sweetened, and refreshing. Ideal for summer. Overall, the food holds its own among the many vegan spots in the neighborhood. Worth a visit, especially for the solid menu. Bonus points: They allow dogs inside!
