Mr. Capri New York Reviews
Amazing Experience! Food was great and Rogerio superb! We will come back soon.
The service here is top-notch. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. Bartender Adrian was especially great—friendly and skilled. The drinks were excellent. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back.
Amazing staff and hospitality. My dish was a little heavy on the spice and I just casually mentioned it when asked how everything was, not expecting much of a reaction. They truly went above and beyond to rectify the situation and ended up providing a superb dining experience. Highly recommend this local spot with great atmosphere and very nice music
Such a great experience! I had my birthday dinner there for a large party of 18 people and Alessandro and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and incredibly nice! I got to pick items off of their menu to create my own pre fixe menu for the group and we were able to do family style and try everything. The food was absolutely incredible and the restaurant is such a beautiful space. Thanks again, will be back!!
I couldn't have picked a better place to host a birthday dinner. Alessandro and his team were incredible, as well as the food and drinks. They were very accommodating as well as gave some recommendations for delicious appetizers to share for 10 people. I had the fettuccini with mushrooms which was out of this world good. I highly recommend Mr. Capri for a group dinner, or even just having a bowl of pasta and a good glass of wine by yourself!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mr Capri, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The highlight of my meal was definitely the arancini—crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and they’re fried to perfection. What really made the visit special, though, was the warm hospitality. The owner was incredibly welcoming and took the time to check in with guests, making everyone feel at home. Our server was equally delightful—attentive without being overbearing, and she made great recommendations. The overall atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or special night out. I’ll definitely be back for more arancini (and to try some of their other dishes). Highly recommend!
THE BEST DINING EXPERIENCE! Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had & i do not say that lightly. The owner Alessandro, our waitress Emily, one of the servers Ash they were impeccable. They checked on us consistently and made us feel so catered to and welcomed like we were at home. The restaurant is beautiful and homey. The staff is kind and friendly. And of-course we came to eat and the food was 10/10 AMAZING!! Everything we ordered, the plates were left empty. Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and the portions were great. The dessert was amazing as well, not heavy, and refreshing. The owner went out of his way to make this a great experience and we are so grateful. I will definitely make this our spot when we come to NYC and you should too! I cant say enough about how great the experience was and how great this restaurant is.
Delicious and authentic. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful dinner. We made a reservation but there was room for walk ins as well. All of the staff we encountered were Italian and so lovely. The food was very delicious and authentic to southern Italy. The complimentary sun dried tomatoes in olive oil were a nice surprise - we asked for more and put it on the other dishes we ordered it was so good!
Really cute place with good service and good food. We came here by chance after happy hour nearby and were impressed. Our server was kind and attentive. She helped with recommendations and they took dietary restrictions and allergies seriously. The lemon risotto with shrimp was fantastic. Friends also really enjoyed their pastas. Drinks and wine were really good, not bad prices for the neighborhood. We’ll be back again to try the rest of the menu.
I went here after work because I heard the food was so good and it definitely is. There are plenty of vegan options, I prefer to send the bar because I think you get better service. Everyone's really nice and they even had a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc by the glass for me. Not sure what time to tell you to go to avoid the clouds but I was there around 7:30. I had no problem getting service at the bar, although if you like they can definitely give you a table. You may want to make reservations though because some people were waiting about 15 minutes for a table.
My family and I have been here a few times and knew we’d want to spend Christmas Eve dinner here - that’s how good it is! Mario and all the staff are incredible, the food is extremely delicious from the sides to the fresh made pasta and mains. The cocktails are made very well too, including our favorite martini with anchovies. This place is really wholesome and worth every penny, with a million Italian restaurants in nyc this is definitely our favorite.
Such a great atmosphere and amazing drinks/ food. Josh the bartender recommended a drink called “pornstar” with vodka, Prosecco and passion fruit. So delicious and well balanced! The food was great and everyone very accommodating and friendly. We ended up coming in on a bush Saturday and got seated promptly at the bar. It was very entertaining to watch Josh put on a show while making the drinks! 10/10 recommend!!!
So yummy and such a good vibe! Right off the bat the bread and olive oil were very good. The olive oil was infused with vegetables and was sooo yummy! To start we got the meatballs and fried burrata with prosciutto. The meatballs were WOW. Some of the best I have ever had. Not your traditional meatballs in red sauce though so just keep that in mind. The fried burrata and prosciutto was also great. For dinner (not pictured) I got the spaghetti pomodori which was very light and flavorful. The bar at this restaurant is spacious and inviting. If I were to come back I would probably sit at the bar and split a few apps and a main dish with a friend. Highly recommend!
Went on Valentine’s Day so service may have been lacking due to being busy which is fine. Appetizers were good but mains were just okay. It was a prix fixe menu so included app, main and dessert but they ran out of tiramisu which is kind of unacceptable given that we had no choice but to do prix fixe and couldn’t even get our moneys worth for their best dessert. And then they added an automatic 20% gratuity though the service was bad that particular day. To end off on a bad note, they charge a 3% surcharge for using a credit card which was $7 in our case. No one is carrying around $250 in cash. So we left with a $246 bill which wasn’t worth it for these reasons.
Our brunch was kind of a letdown. While the space is spacious and nice and staff was professional and caring, the food was average. Our main issue was that everything was super salty. Salt was very overpowering and actually made me feel a little sick afterwards. I also found the brunch menu a little lacking. There were only three or four dishes I would categorize as brunch dishes (pancakes, frittata, avocado toast, and maybe a burger).
