Pipo's New York Reviews
Fantastic food and really friendly staff. Usually order but dined int this week and had a great experience!
Love Pipos been ordering from them all the time. Can’t beat their quality & prices and the staff is very very friendly as well!
Ordered takeout for shrimps tacos and guacamole, and they tasted so good! The grilled shrimp were very flavorful and fresh, I loved them!
Pipo’s in East Harlem still holds it down like the day I first discovered it. The steak nachos are the star—tender, seasoned beef laid over creamy beans, melted cheese, and a fresh burst of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and jalapeños. No lettuce needed, no shortcuts taken. The crema ties it all together with that authentic richness that hits just right. What makes Pipo’s special is the thoughtfulness: they layer it so the chips stay crisp even after the drive, which means a working man like me—doing Uber deliveries—can still come home and feel like I just ate at the restaurant. Every bite feels like Harlem comfort food done with Mexican heart. Whether you’re local or passing through, Pipo’s is the real deal. Always fresh, always flavorful, always home.
This Mexican restaurant is good as usual. I love their shrimps tacos and guacamole with chips. Very yummy and flavorful!!
Fantastic value, service, and food. There is a reason this place has been here so long.
Great mexican place. Staff are incredibly kind and attentive. They make you feel welcomed.
This place is pretty stellar! I found a restaurant that impressed me. The workers' quick attention saved us time. The dishes here are both affordable and well-prepared. Really happy with my meal. I can't wait to return for other menu items.
Current MSW student at CUNY Hunter Silberman School of Social. On Thursdays, my peers and I go around the neighborhood to try out food from local restaurants. Pipo's was this week's outing! I had the Milanessa de Pollo with Rice (it also comes with beans, two pieces of avocado, and salad). I asked for no beans, so it came with extra salad! It was yummy. Chicken was just right, and the rice had some pieces of corn and other veggies in it. It was authentic Mexican food, which was refreshing! Many of my peers had tacos or tortas, but were all saying how yummy the food was. We took the food to go, but appreciate how quick the customer service was and overall wait time to get our food. Thank you, Pipo's! See you soon! :)
After living in Italy for the summer, I was on my way back to the west coast / Los Angeles and I wanted Mexican food. This place is fire, very authentic. A fellow Californian that stayed living in NY told me I would love this place. The green salsa for the chips, I needed that taste of spice. The nachos as an appetizer for great. The caldo de pollo wow, comfort food, just what I needed.
great value. sizeable portions. friendly service. I got the seafood soup which comes in a 32 oz container w tortillas and rice. pleasantly surprised to find a bunch of mussels, calamari, clams, big pieces of fish and shrimp. exceeded expectations for sure. definitely will return to try more. definitely a gem in e harlem! also noting that they have an updated food grade rating - A
Great food and service. But the music was horrible. Could be improved from pitbull to some Italian music for nicer atmosphere.
Water tastes like moss or algae. Not sure what they use to cook but the drinking water from the tap was concerning. Otherwise ok.
