The pork noodle is a must. This restaurant was by far the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever tried. Price is reasonable, too.

Good people with good food and good place. I really like Pad thai shrimp and soft crab mango salad that’s make me fresh! Even noodle still makes me cry because very delicious with cheaper price!!

The pineapple fried rice here is super tasty! I love how they serve it inside a pineapple, it looks so cool. The mix of shrimp, cashew nuts, and sweet pineapple makes the flavor really good. Portion is big too. Totally worth trying :)

We've ordered for the first time here and the food is solid! Seafood dried suki and ThongLor ribs had good flavors. Sweet sausage fried rice with extra shrimp was also very good. Our favorite was mama noodle tomyum seafood - highly recommend it! We've ordered a takeout but got to chat with the owner (who was super super friendly) when we picked the order up. We'll definitely try to dine in next time!

A random walk in! The foods are decent and the owner and waitress are really helpful and welcoming. Would recommend vermicelli rice noodles with seafoods! The flavor is on point.

Excellent Thai food and a great addition to the neighborhood! Everything was well done, and the inside decor is lovely. It’s a great place to grab a bite with a partner or friend (it’s small inside however) and it’s BYOB right now (eventually they will serve cocktails). The service was prompt and friendly, and we’ll definitely be back. I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and homes, and this place hits the spot!

Very delicious Thai food. Especially Red Curry was outstanding. Pad Thai and fried dumpling was perfect.

Speaking from native Thai, this is an authentic Thai restaurant among lots of Thai restaurants in NYC. Nice decoration with fancy plates and dishes. Crispy ducks curry is my recommendation. I would love to comeback and try more!

Picked up takeout here for NYE and had the most spectacular time. The restaurant owners were so festive and involved all the customers with fun festivities. The best of vibes!

Absolutely phenomenal Thai food. The pad thai I had was delicious and portion sizes are quite generous for the price. Service was very attentive and the chef personally came out to ask us how the food was, which I thought was a pretty nice touch.

A cozy restaurant with such attentive service and lovely decor. I got the boat noodle soup and it was so tasty!

Food presentation and plating was delightful, the taste was superb, the craft beer paired well with the dish, the service above and beyond, and the decor is fun and stylish. Not having been to every Thai restaurant in NYC, I can still safely say that this is at the very least the best Thai experience in Hell's Kitchen. A must-try for any foodie!

ThongLor is a small and cozy thai restaurant with an insanely long menu offering all thai dishes you could think of. Amazing service, attentive, friendly and just very sweet. Food was a bit disappointing: overly sweet (and the spicy marked dishes weren't spicy)

While in NYC there are so many options that it gets overwhelming. I got to visit this restaurant and I can comfortably can say is one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been!!! And I absolutely love thai food. The place is small but so well decorated and cozy. Loved the vibe, the food and staff. 100% recommended

This was a surprise. There are so many Thai restaurants in the city and ninth avenue. But Thonglor manages to really stand out. The food is as good as the cuisine that I experienced in Thailand. I had udon noodles which were perfectly spiced. And the server exuded a friendly, welcoming vibe. It is now my favorite restaurant in the area!!!

Distinctly decorated with gold. Small size restaurant. Served dishes like home cooked. Very flavorful. The salad is good made with a special sauce - strong flavor, pad Thai is good, fry rice is tastety, tomkha is very good, cury is also good. The chef is very friendly, and courteous.

Amazing Thai cuisine. I have had some Thai food in USA but its flavor is not nearly similar to the original one. However, Thonglor is different. Their foods are so delicious and their flavors are similar as in Thailand. Especially Papaya salad, it's so good. If you want to try some Thai food in NY, you should come to Thonglor!!!

I love everything I ordered. I came here twice and this place will be my go to Authentic Thai food. Yum Nuer, Mee Krob and papaya salad ( Thai style salad ) was my favorites. Stuffs are so polite and kind. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of dining at The Thonglor in New York for an unplanned lunch, and it was a delightful experience. We opted for the Thai green curry and drunken noodles, both of which were bursting with authentic Thai flavors. We also received complimentary spring rolls as part of the lunch menu! It's a restaurant worth discovering for a satisfying and budget-friendly meal.

W

Their lunch special is so so so worth. Any broke kid tryna go on a date you should take your date here. The food tasted amazing ($11 for chicken!) and plating was done perfectly. Service was also good.

N

Absolutely delicious. The service was a little slow for having only two seated tables but the food more than made up for it. The staff is very nice and friendly. The slow service was most likely a staffing issue and not at all a negative on the restaurant. The interior is quite small but charming. I’ll definitely be coming back to this spot.

This real hole in the wall type of place serves authentic Thai food at reasonable prices with a friendly service. Some of the best food we have ate during our NYC trip!

I have been ordering and dining at this lovely spot numerous times. The food is excellent and had relatively authentic Thai flavours. There was once that the online ordering system was having some issues and I was charged twice. Na was very kind and assisted me to resolve the issue immediately. This cool little spot is great if you are looking for reasonably priced Thai cuisine around the area. Definitely a hidden gem.

Great food! Tried the massaman and panang curries. They were both perfect portions and extremely flavorful. The service was absolutely outstanding. Truly above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. Great interior decorations and overall warm and calm vibe. I highly recommend. Also the coconut ice cream and the butterfly flower tea were wonderful.

The restaurant was smaller than expected. But it turned out to be such a great experience! The food was really good and priced decently. The Thai iced tea and iced coffee were really good too. The owner was very friendly.

Not sure why this place has 4.8 stars, but from my perspective and experience here, its a 5 star Michelin if ya ask me! One of the best Menus I've seen EVER in a "mom and pop feel shop" - for it to be Thai food it is AMAZING! Our waitress, the staff, the service, EVERYTHING is EXCELLENT!

C

The food was great! , the best pad Thai 🍲I've ever eaten! I recommend everyone to come and try it, the atmosphere inside is great, cozy and elegant. I also recommend taking tea, I don't remember the last time I drank such good tea 🍵

This cozy Thai spot is a hidden gem. The food is always flavorful and authentic, with the Red Curry Lunch Special being my favorite — generous portions and great value. I once had an online payment issue, but Na kindly helped me resolve it right away. Delicious food, fair prices, and excellent service make this place a must-visit.

Came in around 7pm on a Sunday night and had the place to ourselves for a few minutes before it started to pick up. Limited seating inside keeps a very cozy but not cramped atmosphere. Loved the interior decoration - so pretty with the black and gold! We had drunken noodles and stir fried eggplant with chicken for our entrees and they were both so good. The rice was soft and perfectly fluffy too. Our server was super nice as well. Would love to come back to try the red curry!

We went today and discovered they have the $10 lunch special, which is very worth it. We also tried the thonglor dumplings, the portion was enough for two people for appetizer. The Tom Kha soup was delicious.

C

The food was great. Every dish was unique and flavorful. The waitress was friendly. The service was a little slow, but that might be due to having only one waitress taking orders. So, if you are willing to wait for great food, this is the place to try.

A

The decoration of golden leaves was beautiful. I went during lunch. The inside also has golden leaves on the ceiling and was very clean. It was not so busy. People chat lightly. Ordered pad Thai and Tom kha soup. The soup was relatively thick in texture with a sweet and sour taste. Pad Thai was a bit unusual but also great. The sauce on the noodles is a bit red. It looks like some ketchup was used when stir frying, not too sure. It made the dish sweeter and more sour than other pad Thai. Personally this is a little too sweet for me, but it’s a good innovation. They gave me a bowl of crispy rice for free, which was really nice. The waitress lady was very nice and sweet from the start to finish. Lunch special made this meal only 13 dollars. Overall, this is a great experience. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.

Delicious Thai food served in a rustic and intimate setting. The stand out dish for me was the Pad Kra Pow Moo Krob (crispy pork basil). I’ve traditionally had this dish with Chinese broccoli, but having it cooked in the delicious basil leaves added that much more flavor! Overall it was a great experience and I’ll be back!

Found this small but well decorated Thai restaurant by chance as I walked past after my afternoon walking tour in Hell Kitchen. Its Thai name attracted my attention. Glad that I stopped to have early dinner here as the food was very good. The staff was attentive and polite. I'll definitely go back again when I'll visit NYC next time. Recommended!

Amazing food, chill atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. The drunken noodles with shrimp were spicy n yummy. Got the golden curry puff which was so flaky crunchy perfection and the sauce it comes with makes it really awesome. The calamari was so light and delicious !!! Thai tea was great as well. Each table had fresh flowers which you dont see as much anymore, it was perfect for my date :D 10/10 would recommend

For the price, this is an easy 5 ⭐️ spot. Flavor on the Kaeng Jee Juan curry was popping. At first bite my eyes popped - sweet heat with jalapeños and chicken, tossing the rice in with the soup was a must. My wife had the pad khing which was super pleasant but lacking sauce from an incredibly flavorful dish. Great little date spot 👏

Thonglor is a relatively new Thai restaurant in an area already saturated with a lot of Thai restaurants, but its food, ambience, service, and prices make it a worthy competitor. The interior is small with limited seating, and decorated lavishly and beautifully in gold. The menu is large with a diverse array of curries, noodles, rice, etc. dishes to choose from. The server gave us a complimentary bowl of shrimp chips to start. We ordered Golden Curry Puffs as an appetizer, which were wonderful— crispy exterior with a soft, warm interior bursting with savory flavor. For the entree, I was craving some mock duck, so I ordered the Stir-Fried Eggplant with Mock Duck ($2 extra). It was well-sautéed, well-spiced, and very filling. I do wish there was more mock duck in the dish though, as the ratio felt a little off. My friends ordered the Khao Soi and Sweet Sausage Fried Rice, and enjoyed them. They are currently working on getting a liquor license, so they don’t sell cocktails yet even though they’re listed on the menu. The ones on the menu looked unique and delicious though, so I’d love to come back to try them once they get their license! Currently, it’s BYOB. Overall, the prices are reasonable and pretty standard (often cheaper too) relative to surrounding Thai restaurants. My friends and I came for dinner, but the lunch special is among the best I’ve seen— ~$11 for most options. The staff are also extremely kind and friendly. — Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4.5/5

A humble Thai place nestled in Hell’s Kitchen. We ordered Pad Thai, beef larb, and green curry. Initially we thought the portion won’t be enough to feed 3, but we ended up leaving the place feeling full. Great flavors on all, tasted authentic & homemade. Spices and coconut cream are not too overpowering Should try when youre in the neighborhood!

Great Thai food in the area. Their cheese wontons are so good, def recommend to share with a group. I got their seafood Tom Yum soup and it was perfect to order on a cold night. Flavor was on point and their pad thai was just as good. The restaurant is a bit cramped but we managed to fit in 6 people.

Excellent Thai restaurant. The food is correctly made, with traditional flavors and very well-executed dishes. The attention is excellent, and they are always attentive to any consultation of the diner. The place is intimate and very cozy, set so that it allows you to isolate yourself from the noise of the street. It has options for all tastes, even vegans and prices are accessible, especially if you take into account the quality offered

Found this place on our way back to hotel after visiting Hudson Yards. And the small place but cozy and lucky to get a seat to have our dinner and the waitress very friendly and efficient even though she is working alone at front. The food is really good. My fav is the beef salad, so fresh and delicious. The sauce for fried fish dish is a bit bland, didn’t go well with the crispy fried fish.

This is the cutest restaurant. Everyone was so sweet and genuine and nice and caring. We got the calamari, drunken noodles, Penang curry and mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious!!! The drunken noodles were spicy but tasty spicy. That is a fine line to balance. 5/5 loved the vibes the food and the decoration! Super authentic :)

We were headed to another restaurant entirely when we passed this place and my Husband was interested in checking it out. We popped on Google and checked the reviews. Plans changed and we suggest you make this place part of your plans. Everything was delicious and they were so friendly! The apps were crispy and filled with flavor. The salad was very refreshing and the beef cooked so well. I can't rave about the soup enough, I love broth and pork belly and it was perfect and spicy and just sooo good. The menu is huge, I suggest you just go with your gut and make a quick decision. I'm sure the whole menu is amazing and can't wait to go back and try more.

We absolutely love this place. The food is very authentic. It’s a small location, but they do a great job of getting you your order relatively quickly. Everything is very delicious and some people were even waiting outside because of how good the food is. There were also a lot of delivery orders we could see your people coming for takeout. I highly recommend you trying this place. It can get very busy around dinner time so come before then or a little bit after like around 7:30 p.m..

Super cute small place restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. The food was delicious and had a lot more variety in the menu. I ordered the Khao Soi Moo Krob (pork belly thai curry noodles) and Kaeng Phed Ped Yang (crispy duck red curry). The Khao Soi Moo Krob was so delicious, a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy. The pork belly stayed crispy in the broth. Loved the Kaeng Phed Ped Yang too. The bell peppers and pineapple kept the curry sweet and flavorful. The duck was nice and tender. There are a lot of fancy/fusion thai restaurants in the city now, but ThongLor keeps the authenticity at an affordable price and adding a lot of unique dishes. Need to try more dishes!

Seriously one of the best Thai restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen. The place is small, but the flavors they offer pack a big punch. The seafood pad Thai, kangkung, and shrimp eggplant dishes were all the rage. I enjoyed the crispness of the kangkung, the umami from the eggplant, and the tenderness of mussels and squid in their pad Thai. I can’t wait to come back and try some more of their delicious offerings. The duck curry (I think this was a panang base) and the som tum was so flavorful and was packed with so much decadence. I really appreciated how ThongLor highlighted produce typically found in Thai cuisine, and didn’t skimp out on the bamboo shoot. They also added pineapple in their curry, which isn’t traditional of Thai cuisine but really added some acid to the dish which made it so balanced. We had a bua loi for dessert and I’ll be honest, it wasn’t the best one I’ve had, but it still felt like a warm hug and a nice palate cleanser for the meal. I wish that the bua loi had more of a thicker coconut consistency, and that the taro balls weren’t as stuck together so it was easy to pick up. That being said, it was still a great end to our wonderful meal. Would I come back again? Absolutely. I highly recommend coming to this place with no more than 4 people. Seating is limited in the space so bring 3 of your closest friends and try everything on the menu.

I had the Red Curry Lunch Special and it was absolutely delicious! The curry was rich, flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat. The portion size was generous, and it came with rice and a small side, making it a great value for the price. For something this tasty and affordable, it’s hard to beat. Highly recommended for a satisfying lunch!

A hidden gem in Hell’s Kitchen! Thonglor NYC is a small, cozy Thai spot with deliciously authentic food and a charming, homey vibe. The space is tight and they don’t take reservations, so it fills up fast — but that’s part of the experience. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the decor was cute and welcoming. We started with the crispy golden bags, which were perfectly fried, light, and flavorful — a great appetizer. The yellow curry was rich and comforting with just the right amount of spice, and the portion was generous. We also tried a seafood dry suki, which was packed with flavor and had beautifully cooked seafood — definitely worth trying. I do wish the place was a little bigger, but honestly, the size adds to the charm. I feel lucky to have this spot in my neighborhood within walking distance. Definitely a go-to for solid Thai food in the city.

Really good spot for Thai. Prices are on the low end with good individual portions. It's a small space if you are going to eat in, I had the chicken pad see ew and fried dumplings. The noodles were very flavorful and everything came out quick and was hot. Would try other dishes here next time I go.

Stumbled in here before a concert and was very pleasantly surprised. It's very small, but is so ornament decorated, and has such a warm atmosphere. You also feel like your right on the street which is very cool. The curry's we tried were very good, and my thai tea was one of the best I've ever had. Our server was very nice as well.

Very good, well-flavored classic Thai dishes Lunch specials range from Pad Thai noodles or Khao Pat fried rice with choice of proteins to soups and salads. Each lunch includes an appetizer such as spring roll or soup. We tried a Tofu soup with vegetable fried rice plus a Tom Yum spicy soup with.Vegetable Yellow Corry. Also had a side of the yummy crab and lobster ravioli in spicy Thai sauce which had lemongrass flavors in an aromatic coconut milk broth. Lots of vegetarian and some vegan options. Good for adventurous kids too. Large menu for such a small place The tiny dining room is adorned in tree branches with golden leaves giving it an exotic yet cozy air. Very nice demure waitress, Quiet crowd. Good value for good size portions, would be great choice for a budget date night. Also a very welcoming place.

We had the golden Curry Puff, Crab Rangoon, and the Chicken Jeen Juan Curry. The food tasted good, the Jeen Juan Curry was unique and different than the usual Thai curries we are used to ( haven't seen this curry in the other Thai places I've tried in and around New York) , a little on the spicier side, which is why we loved it! The Crab Rangoon was also pretty good. They also served us with garlic chips which was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the decor and vibes of this place.

This was some of the best Thai I’ve ever had! To be so close to Time Square there is some hesitation about coming here, but don’t be afraid! The atmosphere is truly magical, and you will feel sealed away from the bustling city. The northern Thai curries were phenomenal! Our waitress was this lovely little lady who was so attentive of all our needs. Please go support this wonderful business.

The decorations including water cup are immersive. Curry is decent. White rice can be better based on Asian standard. They do have a restroom behind.

Cool and cozy place with local thai cuisine. The owners just recently moved to NY from Thailand, so you can expect proper thai cuisine. We found the pad thai a bit too sweet for our taste, but the Pad Kra Pow was great.

I had a group of people having dinner here, so I tried many different dishes. The best was curry puff, I never had this type of food. It seemed fried and heavy but actually it was lighter than I expected, and the dough was a bit chewy which I really liked! Drunken noodle and beef dishes were so yum, my pad thai was also good but next time I'd get drunken noodle :) I don't recommend steam veggie dumplings, it had almost no taste😂 Somehow it took very long to serve the main dish, like more than an hour after the order, even other members who came later got it first. Atmosphere was nice, well decorated with gold, loved the gold cups, very kind staff, and the bathroom was clean. But it's a tiny space, there are a few tables:) Overall, it's a nice place! I enjoyed so much!

Small cozy atmosphere. Super spicy! Our 4 is their 2 in hotness rating. Had Spaghetti pad Thai! Amazing!

The food and ambience is great. We had green thai curry and Pad Kra Pow which was flavorful.

Even though it's small inside, the decor of the place really made it stand out among the other restaurants surrounding it. They had good prices as well, both of our meals were ~$16 each, drinks were about ~$5. I had the drunken noodles with shrimp and they were fantastic. Had a small kick to them spice wise, and great flavor to them. The curry was delicious as well, very creamy but not overly sweet. We also got the Dang Soda, it is supposed to have a sweet and sour taste with popping bubbles but it was a little too sweet for my taste. I did get the Honey Yuzu Soda and loved the light citrus flavor, would recommend. They have a lot more interesting drinks, as of this review they had a BYOB sign, and the menus had no beer / cocktails in them. Overall a great experience with the food, and the waitress was adorable and super friendly. My last note is kindly requesting to consider the bugs. One had fallen from the decorations above almost into my food, and letting our server know was not much of reaction other than giving us a new napkin, it did impact the experience a bit as I was pretty conscious of it afterwards. 🥺

Decent Thai spot in Hells Kitchen. I enjoyed the small intimate atmosphere and service was friendly. Food wise it was ok but nothing really stood out and the flavors didn’t really pop as much I’d hoped they would based on some of the other reviews on here.

Really lovely food. Maybe the best Thai food I've had. Great presentation. Good balance of flavors (not overly sweet like many Thai places). We just kept saying "mmmmmmmm" Update: we went again on 15 September 2022. The service had a lot of issues. We waited for a very long time for our food to arrive. It trickled out and we finally decided to ask for the remainder to go. Great food but the operations need work. Reducing to 4 stars based on the service. Hopefully they'll figure it out.

ThongLor has a truly impressive atmosphere that stands out as a 5-star highlight. The food and service were also consistently high-quality, making it a great all-around choice for a 4-star dining experience. Definitely worth a visit for the environment and the menu!

Original Thai Tea taste can be found here! Reasonable price thai food and noodle. Nice staff!

A great spot for newcomers to Thai cuisine—the spice levels are mild, making it easy to explore the flavors without feeling overwhelmed. That said, as someone who enjoys more authentic Thai heat, I found the curry lacking the punch I was hoping for. The dish was still tasty, but I was left wanting deeper, more complex flavor notes. The atmosphere is cheerful and inviting, with golden decor and traditional Thai music that help create a culturally immersive experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, adding to the overall warmth of the visit

Went for a midweek dinner and was just slightly disappointed with the slow service.. took a while for the food to come out and there was only 1 other table of people! Food was delicious when it came though.. a very big menu.. we just went for some dumplings and a green curry!

They don't accept reservations but luckily, my friend and I met up early enough (6 pm on a Wednesday) and we got the last table. The restaurant is very small with maybe six tables inside and two outside. They have a drink menu but I don't think they have their alcohol license yet so I saw other people BYOB. We decided to order a bunch of things to share: -Phla Kung (shrimp salad - chili paste, red onion, mint, lettuce in a spicy lime dressing) - we originally wanted to get the soft shell crab salad, but the waitress said it wasn't that good, which I appreciated. We really enjoyed the shrimp salad. The shrimp were big and perfectly cooked, and the lime dressing was so fragrant/flavorful/delicious -Khao Soi (egg noodles and chicken in a Thai curry broth) - the broth was good but the chicken was not. It had that old leftover chicken taste. You also have to eat the noodles pretty quickly, otherwise it becomes a soggy mess -Chicken larb - the flavors were good but the chicken again had this leftover taste. The spicy lime dressing from the shrimp salad helped make this dish a bit more palatable -Pad Thai with mixed seafood wrapped in egg - this was on the “Chef’s Specials” section of the menu, which I guess meant they put an egg on it and charged $25 on it. So not worth it. There was barely any seafood - just whatever is on top, which was three pieces of squid, two shrimp, and two mussels. The noodles itself were good so you're better off just ordering the regular Pad Thai. That'll save you $9 I would probably come back just for the shrimp salad and maybe even the pad Thai. But just stay away from anything that has chicken in it.

Encouraged by the many great reviews and in the mood for trying a new Thai place, I got takeout from ThongLor today. The staff was friendly and the small place was pleasantly clean and decorated. Even after a bit of a wait I was looking forward to my food. Unfortunately, at home I had to find out that the lunch menu portions were very small and the rice was dry. The takeout bowls with the panang and green curries were not even half filled and the sauce was barely enough to moisten the rice. The green curry did not have any eggplant in it. The taste was fine, but not extraordinary. The competitive pricing seems to be achieved by small portion sizes. I was a bit disappointed, but might come back to try dining in instead.

Very good food, but every time I order food with a drink, they never bring the drink. They are also very bad at answering the phone, so if they forget something in your order, you might as well not even try and reach out.

The fried pork tastes bit old, like it was in freezer for a few months before was cooked But veggies tastes good Automatically charges you a 20% service fee during checkout and the services is very average, like you pour water yourself. Food comes fast, which earns another star
