Frequently asked questions about Tisch Cafe
Tisch Cafe New York Reviews
Insanely low prices (under $10 for a fancy filling meal), amazing food (most made in front of you), multiple cuisines + types of food and great portions. Ample seating is also available. Very strongly recommend both for visitors and staff at the medical center. Not your typical hospital cafeteria. They also have employee discounts. They additionally also have bananas, yogurts, parfait, fruit, sandwiches, salads, soups, pasta, smoothies etc.

Clean, good food, plenty of choices. For a hospital Cafe, pretty darn good. More than reasonable prices. Tops in my book.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food has great taste
Food is delicious staff is friendly
Great selection of healthy food choices and fresh, made to order meals and salads at unbelievably low prices. The staff and check out clerks were super friendly. Comforting to know you aren't going to get price gouged when you have a family member in the ICU.
This is the best hospital canteen I ive ever ben too as I’m from the United Kingdom where most cafes are closed ??. And your hours superb as they all at home in United Kingdom from 9am to only 3-4 4pm in UK here open untill 12 am and earlier . The staff are so helpful and friendly As I’m awake early I can email from 6 am when it’s 5 hrs ahead at home . Thank y so much best care holital too wouldn’t want to be any where else .
Açaí bowl is bomb- it’s huge, costs $8, comes with all the toppings and the granola is mad good. Not to mention the omelette station. Update: love the veggie straws too

Please tell the customer if something ordered will have a chili or spice on it.
The food and the guy working at the deli both tremendous. The check out lady ruined the entire experience rude and obviously unhappy she is working. She had nothing but attitude no smile no hello just rude. African American, heavy set her register was right next to the lady assisting open register. NYU is the best send her home.

Clean and lots of options. Given not for me as there was only a few eggless/meatless options but none the less sufficiently spacious. I had the mashed potatoes and a falafel vegan wrap.

I usually have a good experience with the staff in the cafe, but as of July 4th, 2024, that changed. I ordered the herb chicken quarter mash and spinach, and as I was eating my chicken, I couldn’t because it was so raw. I tried, but the majority of the meat was raw! I spoke to a cashier, and she told me it would be fine to go over and exchange it for something else. She was extremely nice, but my problem was with the server at the hot food station, not the older lady, but the second lady serving. I approached her and explained my problem that the chicken was raw, and with an attitude, she replied, "Oh, but you ate it though.” I didn't eat it! If I did, I wouldn’t come back to you complaining. I found that rather distasteful as a person serving others. She exchanged my order. I told her I would take the fish. The cashier I spoke to told me I would be able to get my sides replaced as well. This server with attitude just gave me the fish and continued on with her conversation. The cashier realized what was happening and had to come advocate for me. I'm not sure of the cashier's name, but she was great. As for that server, she shouldn’t be serving others with that kind of attitude.

This Cafe isn't all that , personally I think that this Cafe was designed only for rich people. Come on , a little cup of coffee is almost $4.00 and when they smile at you when you order something it make you feel like you have just entered the Twilights Zone . With the prices they got for you you might as well be in the Twilights Zone . Buy your food from the outside before you come in that NYU Hospital.
The hospital is great but the people who work at the cafe here are terrible. They should really be more sensitive about comments they make about orders (was made fun of, pretty much called fat, for ordering two sides, kale and mashed potatoes along with cauliflower) especially since I’m only here because my family member is in the hospital.
