Tofu Tofu New York Reviews
The food was so good, I had to come back a second time on a cold, cold day. I ordered a bit more than usual but anticipated taking home the leftovers to enjoy at home. We ordered the ginger fried chicken, seafood-scallion pancake, japchae, Yuk Gae Jang and Chicken Ramen. Love all the side dishes - tonight's special side dish: steamed egg. Everything was delicious and leftovers tasted so good the next day. The wait staff and owner are super nice and gracious. Will return soon to try more dishes 😋☺️
Went in as a group of 6 and they accommodated us very well. We each got our own dishes which we all enjoyed. The tofu soup and main combo was great. The tofu soup itself was amazing. I would come back for just the soup. The fried chicken was also tasty and they provided a whole box of gloves for us to eat them cleanly. The server was very kind to our group and made sure were enjoying our food.
Ate at Tofu Tofu on Christmas night. The staff were all friendly, gracious, and attentive. The cabbage kimchi that came out with the banchans was excellent, and my server brought a complimentary dish of steamed eggs that was just perfect...the texture of a soufflé. My tdolsot bibimbap with bulgogi was delicious, and the complimentary hot green tea definitely hit the spot. Great spot.
Got take out comped by work - Mixed soondubu w/ extra beef (medium spicy): Medium spicy isn’t spicy —> get full spice next time. Broth was really flavorful, but wish there was more seafood. Large portion size (lasted me two meals) w/ large tofu blocks - Banchan: Kimchi is super yummy, slightly sweet and not too sour. Mac and cheese was creamy. Everything else was standard * Note: Wanna dine in next time
Here’s what’s you’re gonna get, they start you out with ban chan, eat the kimchi it’s fresh and not too spicy. Then order the kimchi pancake, bomb. Next get the soondubu with seafood and it comes with a side of rice, very comforting and great for people who have never had Korean food. Finish with a boat, no literally, of fried chicken.
2025 update: I've been back in between with local friends , and in July, I took some out-of-town friends here for a quick reliable delicious mean. Everyone was impressed, especially my teenage diner guest! Everyone at the restaurant is always so kind and the food never disappoints. I love this place, the owner/staff all seem to be very happy people and that makes me happy too. We ate a ton and the bill after tips was under $35/pp. As far as I know this place is BYOB still... Do call to double check! 2024 Group dinner: everyone left happy and full (both stomach and wallet)! Amazing wings, yummy tofu.
A true authentic Korean experience in the heart of the Lower East Side. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, especially since we were new to Korean cuisine. They explained everything with patience and care. We had the bibimbap chicken with cheese, honey soy fried chicken, and the savory pancake (a great recommendation from our waitress). Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We were also served a variety of Korean sides and a delicious steamed egg dish (gyeranjjim), all included. Portions were generous, and at about $45 per person (for 3 big dishes and 4 drinks), it felt like a great deal. We walked in on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. Definitely coming back!
