A wonderful lunch experience!! We had the seafood and mixed soon soups. Both were delicious. The place was not crowded and there was plenty of space for social distancing. Adjacent tables were separated by clear shower curtains, hung tastefully throughout the restaurant. You can tell that much thought went into the pandemic design, which allowed for easy access by staff but isolated spaces for patrons. The manager/owner was very attentive. I was sweaty and fanning myself eating the spicy soup, she brought a mini fan to my table!! They offer you disposable gloves to eat korean chicken wings with and wet napkins after without being asked. I would definitely come back and try the other items on the menu!
I came here with a friend since I really like Korean food. We came around 8pm and it was pretty empty when we arrived. They give you hot tea which was nice since Korean places usually give you cold water. We both ordered a bibibamp for each other and a soup and bulgogi to share among ourselves. They first give you some small dishes to enjoy which is normal but I wasn't expecting a small sizzling bowl of steamed egg. Never had that before, but u enjoyed it. Service didn't take too long as our bibibamp arrived shortly after. We were both pretty satisfied with our orders, the soup and bulgogi was good. I wished we ordered the seafood pancake since that's my favourite but my buddy didn't like seafood. Overall, great experience and environment to hang out with friends!
The lunch menu is so worth it here. It's only $15 (including average tips) for my favorite dish which is seafood soondubu. The steamed egg and banchan are included. Usually, korean spots do not give a complimentary steamed egg, but this spot does. I appreciate how they have a meter for how spicy you want your food. I'm surprised I only saw this in 2020 when it has been around since 2017. This Korean restaurant is very different for the Chinatown community. The owner is incredibly nice and greets people as well as does the waiter work sometimes. I will definitely be back. Bathroom is also clean.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant, and I wanted to compliment the exceptional service provided by our waiter HE WAS SO NICEEEE AND the food was SOOOO absolutely delicious, with each dish perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. It was a memorable evening thanks to the wonderful service and fantastic cuisine. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable! I WOULD COME AGAINNN
I work nearby, we ordered for lunch and even go have dinner after work with my co workers. From the first day she was open. We were her customers and love that she is around to served us delicious korean foods in Chinatown. 감사합니다
A little difficult to find Korean gem in Chinatown! I’ve passed by this restaurant so many times before unknowingly until a friend invited me to eat here. Now, it’s become one of my favorite Korean spots in NYC for tofu soup. I selfishly hope this restaurant does not blow up on social media because the vibe is cozy and not packed. I wouldn’t be surprised though if one day it does because this tofu spot is just that good. There are a good amount of people eating out here on the weeknights but not enough to warrant a wait. Also, the food comes out fairly quickly (and of course there is delicious banchan to nibble on while you wait). Speaking of which, their kimchi is one of my favorites. It tastes impeccably fresh and has the perfect crunch, sourness, and spice level. The other banchan was great as well and they even served a side of steamed egg on the house. We ordered a galbi tofu soup as well as a combo la galbi bbq and seafood tofu soup. Their galbi is marinated well and the sauce is sweet and full of umami. The seafood soup has plenty of seafood and the tofu is so tender. I don’t know what else they put into the soup but the flavors are so strong and tasty. The galbi soup contains the marinated la galbi with tofu and some vermicelli noodles. For some reason I thought it would be a different kind of galbi and unmarinated but the soup was good, albeit, slightly sweeter than I would have liked. When I ate here the last time, I ordered a beef tofu soup and that was out of this world. Perfectly beefy, spicy, and soul warming. The best tofu soup I have ever had and now I’m salivating while thinking about it. Also, the service here is very good and the hostess was very attentive (but not overly so in a bad way). The tables are very clean, very large, and away from other diners. There are also two restrooms in the back.
This is my number one go-to spot for korean food. Although located in chinatown, the food is nothing short of immaculate. I go through withdrawal symptoms if not visited weekly. The side dishes are always fresh, dishes are simple and authentic while reasonably priced, and free complimentary steamed egg + others (if she likes you :)). The staff is very nice. They always make an effort to know your name, who you are, and communicate with you. I am always at home when eating there. It is the most home-felt meal I have when in college. I never leave hungry, and I always smile upon leaving. Please please please, give it a try.
Tofu Tofu is such a great spot! The food is fresh, light, and full of flavor — perfect balance of comfort and healthy. The tofu dishes are amazing, and the portions are just right. The place has a clean, cozy vibe, and the staff are super friendly. Definitely a go-to for tasty, wholesome meals.
Excellent food and service. Very attentive servers. We had soon tofu and kimchi pancake. The sides were great as well. Specifically radish khimchi.
Came here for the first time ever and let me tell you I was mind blown by how good the food is and how big the portions are considering the price. Everything I got on my plate costed $63 and it was all worth it considering how busted I felt afterwards. It's definitely recommended you bring a few friends since the food is large to split the bill. Even appetizers are big. I am definitely coming back!! Can't wait for more surprises :)
Love this place! Great staff! Great food! Great waiting time (If any at all)! Food comes at a reasonable time, not too quick but not too long, just right. Food tastes amazing. I enjoy the Cheese Jeeyuk Hot Stone Ball while my Gf loves their Soon Tofu Soup. They also have an amazing Fruit Punch drink. Check them out
This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem, and I kid you not, they have the best korean fried chicken. After chatting with the owner?, she told me the fried chicken truly saved the business. The crunchiness and the perfect amount of sauce took my breath away! My gf and I really like the sweet & spicy and the classic soy garlic. You should also try the tropical fruit punch with real/fresh fruits! Last but not least, other dishes are great as well. I definitely recommend you trying at this spot and the korean fried chicken.
Such a great experience. Fantastic food and service. Got there 30 min before closing and they still served us and did not pressure us to leave. The LA beef is amazing. Very flavorful and perfect to share. The dumplings were great. They were fried but not overly deep fried. Looking to go back here soon.
My favorite Korean restaurant in NYC. The menu is lovely and the food is always delicious. Don't stuff yourself on the included appetizers or you won't finish your meal.
The food was excellent in Chinatown it can be difficult to find good Korean food. But this place is a gem! Here are a list of my recommendations: seafood pancake crispy aromatic, honey soy garlic 16 piece wings finger licking good, cheese dduk bokki soft and chewy perfect, Jo Gi Giu -I love it, Chicken fried rice tasty, marinated short ribs hot stone bowl delicious with Steamed eggs and endless banchan! The owner was sweet and welcoming! Great bang for your buck, 10/10 would recommend you visit! Will be returning!
The whole restaurant gives a home vibe. Everyone who works there is very sweet. The food was amazing! Big portions and inexpensive. Easily one of the best Korean restaurants in NYC. Ordered fried rice and army stew and they’re such a nice treat for a cold day. There was surprisingly a lot of garnish put into the army stew and they were really generous with the amount of meat. Ordered the fried chicken and got some plastic gloves so we didn’t get our hands dirty (a nice touch). Was really crispy and loved the sweetness on the outside.
I loved their honey garlic chicken. The staff was very nice, they gave us some egg appetizers on the house and some kimchi on our way out. Wonderful place, would visit again
amazing food, and the service is truly amazing. Made it feel like i was visiting an old friends house with the way the treated me. Will definitely be coming back weekly
This place is actually a hidden gem in the city. This restaurant is my best friend and I most favorite Korean Tofu place within the whole city. Everyone is so friendly and so so sweet. They literally make you feel like they are welcoming you with open arms. I’m telling you from drinks to appetizers to main course everything literally is fantastic. Very fresh. Very very amazing. I’m telling you this place is a MUST GO. You will NOT be disappointed.
Best Korean food in Manhattan!! I looove their kimchi chigae, soft tofu soups, Korean fried chicken, bibimbap, and all of the side dishes that come with the meal. Service is amazing and it’s a great place to bring friends to. Everyone I’ve taken there, ends up falling in love! This place beats any restaurant in ktown!!
We came across this place after a looooong day of walking and sightseeing and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed by the friendliest and most attentive staff you could ever imagine :) The place is spacious inside, spotless clean and just has a lovely vibe overall in it's simplicity. Wide selection of food & decent prices We got some complementary starters like 3 types of kimchi, tofu and steamed egg Portions are very big and the food is fresh and yummy!! Highly recommend it! Thank you for the lovely experience and your hospitality:)
It smells great in here as soon as you walk in, so you know the food will be good! The short rib bibimbap was delicious. I was hesitant to order the kimchi scallion pancake because I’ve only had the seafood one, but it was delicious as well! I enjoyed the side dishes also. The service was good.
Banchan - generous and great variety. Had fish cakes, macaroni, bean sprouts, kimchi Sundubu - delicious but a tad salty Rice cakes soup - just a tad salty. Dumplings were delicious and tasted home-made. Fried dumplings - delicious Fried rice - a tad oily Service was warm and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and lunch special was available. Good crowd for a Saturday lunch.
booked a reservation for a friend's surprise birthday meal and the service was phenomenal. everyone was so attentive, the meals were made quickly & tasted so good. the portion for the price is very good as well. tofu tofu i hope your business continues to thrive.
Been coming here since they first opened. Its the best sundubu in the city. The foods great staff is friendly. I usually get the bo sam combo with seafood sundubu. Their mushroom sundubu is fire too.
Been to this place more times than I can count over the years. Being one of few Korean restaurants in Chinatown, it’s become a convenient place to go to when craving Korean food. However, I don’t go here only because of convience; I go here because the food actually tastes good. To start, if you’re going to go here, definitely order the Korean fried chicken wings (For dine in… if for take out, they will get slightly less crispy). Though I like spicy, my favorite flavor of wings here is the soy garlic one. Wings are crispy, bursting of flavor, and cooked just right so that it’s not dry but still juicy. They give you disposable food gloves for the wings so you don’t get your hands dirty. The side dishes change every so often so it really depends when you go. Pretty decent but the Korean macaroni salad, bean sprouts, broccoli, and the steamed egg in the hot stone bowl are usually the favorites. They refill everything except the egg. But on occasion, they have given us extra bowls of it which we of course gratefully accept. Another thing we frequently order are the tofu soups and the bibimbaps. On cold days, the tofu soups just warm you up and you can adjust the spice level according to your preference and taste. They seem small but they do fill up the average person, especially if you order wings to share as a table/group. The bibimbaps are also a good option, as you choose what protein you’d like and then it’s filled with lots and lots of veggies. When you get it, you mix it all up and squeeze in the amount of sauce you’d like. The sauce is sweet with a bit of a kick. Nothing too spicy (but then again I like spice). I’ve come here with reservations and without before. Either way, the wait is never longer than 5 minutes. The staff is always very attentive during the meal and always welcomes you with a smile even when they’re swamped/busy with customers. Overall, will continue to come back!
Tofutofu is an amazing Korean comfort food spot. The combos are a bit pricey, about 25-27 per combo, but they were absolutely wonderful. My friend got the spicy pork combo and I got the LA Galbi Combo, each combo comes with rice, soup, and sides. The soup was incredibly rich and soul warming, I couldn't get enough of it. The Galbi was so tender and flavorful, it left me wanting more and more. I can't wait to drop by again next time I'm in Chinatown.
By far the best Korean restaurant in Manhattan. My partner introduced me to this spot two years ago, and it has never disappointed. The food is consistently outstanding, and the owner is incredibly kind and always remembers us, which makes every visit feel special. Highly recommend.
From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—attentive, thoughtful, and seamless. Each dish was served with care, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. As for the food, every bite was comforting and flavorful—it truly felt like a taste of home. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Korean dining experience.
I ordered a pick-up by phone this afternoon, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and efficient. When I received my food, I was impressed that it was perfectly packaged without a single spill. Next time I dine in, I’ll definitely tip this staff member. I hope her boss sees this review and knows they have hired a great employee.
I don’t know why we haven’t discovered this place sooner! Everything was on point; fresh and flavorful. I guess they’re known for tofu soups. Don’t underestimate the soups. It is packed with flavor and the tofu cubes were soft and silky. I got the seafood (mild spicy) flavor. It was perfect for me. The fried chicken was great. We got the sweet and spicy drumsticks. Full of flavor and crunch. The jap che was slippery and bouncy. That, too, was very flavorful. I enjoyed it very much. The gal bi (short ribs) very very flavorful as well. Basically there was nothing there that tasted bland and boring. We are definitely returning to this place. PS - staff here is friendly, warm bodied, and sweet.
We stumbled upon a hidden gem on Google Maps - a restaurant with a modest entrance but a surprisingly spacious interior. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional Korean dishes, all of which we found to be delicious and surprisingly not thirst-inducing like other Korean restaurants we've visited. The generous portion sizes of the side dishes were a pleasant surprise, and the staff was more than happy to refill them upon request. The bill was also very reasonable, especially considering the current trend of price increases in NYC restaurants post-pandemic.
I was happy to have found this place through a search on yelp, didn't know there was a Korean restaurant in Chinatown. Even more happy to discover they were the same as tada fried chicken on Bayard St., which I've been wanting to try for a while and find out there were close today (Tuesdays). When I walked in the place was pretty empty with one table but the time we left it was packed. The food is good and authentic Korean. The same taste you will find in Korean town but without the trip to midtown. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and very tender and juicy on the inside. The sauce was a bit too sweet for me but at least it was not bathed in but slightly covered. We ordered the combo tofu and pork kimchi. The tofu was nice and meaty. The pork Kimchi was a bit small and cold but otherwise good. Love all the side dishes especially the steamed egg. I will be coming back again.
I've been to TofuTofu on mutiple occasions, it's worth coming here for a lunch that's both very filling and under $30 which is a steal in the city considering their banchan is complimentary (and you can ask for refills). The music in the background is a bit loud for my taste, but their service is relatively quick and the servers keep it simple.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in NYC! Ive been going for years and have brought many friends here, all of which adore it as much as I do. Best soondubu, and also really good banchan. If you have any knowledge of good korean food this will hit the spot! (any negative reviews i’ve seen seem to be mislead on what korean food actually is…). Price is also really decent and the staff are truly so special and kind. It has a very homey feeling in there, very no frills, which is refreshing. I wish i still lived nearby, so i could still order delivery too. So much love for this place :)
We came one Friday, almost a year ago, after a long week to try it out. We've been hooked ever since and have come every week. The staff is very friendly. The food is amazing and fairly priced. They're adding things to the menu even one year later. Just be patient as this is more 'a full home cooked meal' rather than your typical 'chain restaurant, my food should be here in 10.' They do provide a variety of opening side dishes and a steamed egg that comes with your table's orders. One thing I would advise anyone going: Try the Iced Tea! P.S. come hungry, the food is pretty filling for our usual group of 4-6 September 2020 Update: While everything has been hard lately, we still make time to come and order for pickup. I'm updating this review to say the food is still amazing, the staff is great, and they recently added multiple flavors of fried chicken!
Been here multiple times and it never fails to impress. The food is flavorful, the staff are attentive, and the vibe/decor is inviting. My favorites so far are the cheese chicken hot stone bowl and the army soup, but I'll keep coming back to try other menu items. Love the complimentary barley tea, which warms you up when it's chilly outside. Highly recommend!
I came in here once with lots of friends, but I decided to come in by myself and it didn’t disappoint yet again! I love hot soup even on a hot day! I ordered the gamjatang and it was really good! Almost as good as my mom’s. The fruit punch was really good as well, I really liked how there was real fruit in there, was too full to eat them though lol The lady there was super sweet as well!
I just wanted to share my experience since the Bonchon on Fulton Street closed. Tofu Tofu has quickly become my go-to spot for crispy fried chicken, and let me tell you, it’s absolutely delicious and so addictive! If you haven’t tried it yet, trust me—you’ll be dreaming about it! The staff, including Kelly, Cassandra, and Jeff, all of the service staff are truly amazing. They remember your orders and provide top-notch service, so you won’t want for anything! And let’s not forget about the Banchan—it’s incredibly sumptuous! A total chef’s kiss!
We went here for Dinner. The restaurant was packed. But we don’t have to wait for long. We ordered Seafood and Scallion Pancake, Beef Tofu Soup, Bulgogi, and God Damn Spicy Fried Chicken. The side dishes were really good. And they also gave us free steam egg. The food was absolutely amazing. My mom love the fried chicken as the meat was very tender and juicy. The sauce was phenomenal. For the bulgogi, you should choose the spicy version. It was not too spicy and it paired perfectly well with the rice. The Beef Tofu Soup was pretty small. But it tasted amazing and we kept digging in. The manager/ server was very friendly and attentive. Eventhough the food took a long time to prepare, the server kept on check up on us and apologize for the wait. But as the food was amazing and the server was great, we had no complaint at all. The ambiance was cozy and lively. It was overall a nice experience. We will come back here again.
been going here since 2019 but havent been able to as much since i moved. i considered myself a loyal returning customer for a while. food was always made with love and i always felt at home here. the restaurant owner here is super nice and she remembered me even after about 2 years of not being able to come back. i will always recommend this place to people whenever they want korean food in the city. love you tofu tofu! <3
this is my go to spot. I love their ban chan (side dishes) especially the macaroni salad and bean sprouts. You can taste it housemade. Always get their Korean fried chicken is soooo good and worth it. Me and my bf would always order kimchi cheese fried rice, Korean fried chicken and gamjatang. Everything was so good, big portions and affordable. Service is really nice and outgoing. Come check it out!!
Went to Tofu Tofu on a whim and it was so AMAZING. Firstly, they start you off with some hot tea and then come the Banchan which was to die for. The kimchi was perfect- crisp and sweet with a taste of what I think may have been plum/pear. My gf loved the mac salad- and couldn’t stop raving about how good it was. The egg was perfectly cooked, soft and pipping hot. Nothing more I could ask for. For my meal- we started with Dukboki, which was the best I’ve ever had. For my main meal I tried the kimchi and beef soondubu- a dish I have not had before but I’m so happy I tried. The flavor was so deep- every bite better than the one prior. The size was perfect, leaving me full but not overly stuffed. Next time I would definitely get it more spicy because I believe I did mild! Overall such an amazing experience, I want to con vac to try more of their menu.
The food was so good, I had to come back a second time on a cold, cold day. I ordered a bit more than usual but anticipated taking home the leftovers to enjoy at home. We ordered the ginger fried chicken, seafood-scallion pancake, japchae, Yuk Gae Jang and Chicken Ramen. Love all the side dishes - tonight's special side dish: steamed egg. Everything was delicious and leftovers tasted so good the next day. The wait staff and owner are super nice and gracious. Will return soon to try more dishes 😋☺️
Went in as a group of 6 and they accommodated us very well. We each got our own dishes which we all enjoyed. The tofu soup and main combo was great. The tofu soup itself was amazing. I would come back for just the soup. The fried chicken was also tasty and they provided a whole box of gloves for us to eat them cleanly. The server was very kind to our group and made sure were enjoying our food.
Ate at Tofu Tofu on Christmas night. The staff were all friendly, gracious, and attentive. The cabbage kimchi that came out with the banchans was excellent, and my server brought a complimentary dish of steamed eggs that was just perfect...the texture of a soufflé. My tdolsot bibimbap with bulgogi was delicious, and the complimentary hot green tea definitely hit the spot. Great spot.
Got take out comped by work - Mixed soondubu w/ extra beef (medium spicy): Medium spicy isn’t spicy —> get full spice next time. Broth was really flavorful, but wish there was more seafood. Large portion size (lasted me two meals) w/ large tofu blocks - Banchan: Kimchi is super yummy, slightly sweet and not too sour. Mac and cheese was creamy. Everything else was standard * Note: Wanna dine in next time
Here’s what’s you’re gonna get, they start you out with ban chan, eat the kimchi it’s fresh and not too spicy. Then order the kimchi pancake, bomb. Next get the soondubu with seafood and it comes with a side of rice, very comforting and great for people who have never had Korean food. Finish with a boat, no literally, of fried chicken.
2025 update: I've been back in between with local friends , and in July, I took some out-of-town friends here for a quick reliable delicious mean. Everyone was impressed, especially my teenage diner guest! Everyone at the restaurant is always so kind and the food never disappoints. I love this place, the owner/staff all seem to be very happy people and that makes me happy too. We ate a ton and the bill after tips was under $35/pp. As far as I know this place is BYOB still... Do call to double check! 2024 Group dinner: everyone left happy and full (both stomach and wallet)! Amazing wings, yummy tofu.
A true authentic Korean experience in the heart of the Lower East Side. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, especially since we were new to Korean cuisine. They explained everything with patience and care. We had the bibimbap chicken with cheese, honey soy fried chicken, and the savory pancake (a great recommendation from our waitress). Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We were also served a variety of Korean sides and a delicious steamed egg dish (gyeranjjim), all included. Portions were generous, and at about $45 per person (for 3 big dishes and 4 drinks), it felt like a great deal. We walked in on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. Definitely coming back!
I liked my food. It could've used a little salt, but I have high standards. The service was great - we got a free egg dish and, of course, free Korean sides. It's a bit hard to find the actual restaurant since it's hidden behind a wall, but it's worth it to go. It's a casual place. Wouldn't recommend for a date or anything upscale, but great if you're on break from work or want an affordable meal with your friends.
Wow, this place has the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had! It’s conveniently located in Chinatown, not too far from canal. The starters were super delicious including the fish cakes and kimchi! The pork bulgogi is delightful as well. Definitely get one of their Tofu soups, it’s the perfect amount of spicy and fresh tofu! You also get a steamed, fluffy egg with the starters!
Good food and a clean restaurant! Authentic and tasty. The food size is small but probably standard in Manhattan. Service at peak hour was not very best - waiting is understandable, but the server failed to serve brown rice upon order and correction request; asked to add more tea and he agreed, but the tea never came.
Very solid spot, well worth a visit if you're in the area. Great portions, they're very generous with banchan and rice, that complimentary steamed egg number they do?? Poetry. Pillow soft. Us mere mortals are not worthy. I got the seafood tofu stew, spicy, with mushrooms, Tteok-bokki, steamed egg and banchan. The banchan wasn't my favorite, although the kimchi and japchae were both REALLY good- the other ones were pretty forgettable. The soup was oh my lord stellar- quickly this dish is becoming one of my favorites. They were generous with the seafood, the mushrooms, the tofu, the broth was very flavorful, didn't taste bland or watery, packed a great spice. Felt like a hug. This was the first time I've had Tteok-bokki and I definitely want to try it out at a few different spots but I thought this was pretty good! It's a funny little dish. Good savory-sweet from the gochujang, maybe a little on the sweet side but that's what chili flakes are for and I'm never without them. I think I'd prefer rolled rice cakes over a solid cake, I don't even know if that's a thing but I will find out- anyway! To sum up. Great food, great value. And when I picked up my food I saw they drew a little heart on the bag. Nearly brought tears to my eyes. Go and bless these wonderful people with your business.
Tofu Tofu has very good service and atmosphere that create a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, the food was just average and didn't live up to the quality of the setting and hospitality. Come for the vibe and attentive staff, but don't expect exceptional cuisine.
Great experience !!! Overall the cost and portions were surprisingly decent for Manhattan standards. We ordered: The combo - squid bibimbap w/ mushroom tofu soup: soup was delicious and goes great with rice and kimchi tteok-bokki: Soo chewy and savory. pork with cheese on top: yummy but the cheese will get hard if you don’t eat it quickly, perfect with rice and kimchi chicken wings & drumsticks: Honestly, disappointed with how bland and weird it tasted. Would not recommend Side dishes that came with the whole meal: delicious !! And great portions :)
I’ve had my fair share of Korean food, inside and outside South Korea. This is, by far, the most westernized one I’ve come across. It was a letdown for me because the reviews looked quite promising. Then the food turned out to be a watered down version of what I’m familiar with. Kimchi fried rice had not the faintest of kimchi taste. Sundubu jjigae was almost ok had it not been because of weird buttery after taste. Stir-fried squid was so mild that I doubt if they added any gochujang in there at all. Kimchi in banchan was fresh kimchi, which was also meh. Good thing they refilled the banchan, otherwise they’d score even lower.
First time here and I was a bit disappointed. Before we finished ordering we were surprised to have received a random steamed egg brought to our table. I told them we didn’t order it and they laughed and let us know it was complementary. What we ordered was one combo meal that came with a choice of soup. But we also got a separate soup while we shared the combo of Mini Bo Sam and fried chicken. The side dishes paired very well with the Mini Bo Sam but fell short when certain pieces of the pork belly still had hair along its upper fat. The fired chicken didn’t come out until we both finished our soups and pork belly. Although the waiter let us know the fried chicken will take a while, the expectation of it fell extremely short. It didn’t taste like anything special and the wait time for the chicken wasn’t worth the wait. Had I known the chicken wouldn’t be seasoned I wouldn’t have ordered it. KFC and Popeyes chicken was better than their chicken. What made up for the dry chicken was the staff and their attentiveness, and the tofu soups we ordered. Along side the sides the unlimited side dishes. If we’re to go back I wouldn’t order anything else besides sticking with what they actually know how to make. I’d give this place a 3.5 if I could but there is no half stars on google.
Got the worst food poisoning from here. Not sure it was the bonchon (side dishes) or the beef soondubu but it made me have the runs for 10 days. My stomach has still not fully recovered. Sad that it seems like a well loved spot in the neighborhood but I will not be returning.
Ordered from UberEats and I genuinely can’t recall the last time I had such a bad food delivery experience of this magnitude lol. Not only was the food incredibly subpar (also can’t recall the last time I had bad/mid Korean food), but the portions were some of the smallest I’ve seen (regular sized takeout spoon for scale reference), and they also got one of my orders wrong. The price for the portion size makes absolutely no sense.
