El Salvadoreño Restaurant Newburgh Reviews
They have the best pupusas I've ever had. Food is super tasty, the staff is super friendly and always smilling. I drive out of my way just to get some delicious comfort food. I lile the atmosphere of the restaurant, it feels quiet and true to the nature of El Salvador. I highly recommend this restaurant, it is definitely a grrat experience with a good price point.
Sopa de Res is top tier! Pupusas are delicious as well! One of the best Latino food places in Newburgh and the Hudson Valley!
Good prices good food and nice atmosphere
Food is delicious. Atmosphere a little religious. Music religious but if it doesn't bother you your good. Employees are nice very friendly and accommodating
Solid prices for amazing and authentic food. They have a bit of everything in terms of traditional food so the hardest part is picking what to get. Pupusas here are a must though
Delicious!!! They seemed busy with a lot of take out. I ordered 15 minutes away; didn't have to wait long when I arrived. Definitely will visit again. Price was reasonable $$.
Our spot for papusas or anything else on their menu really. Love this spot so much! Sometimes there is an order miscommunication but they always fix it right away and even offer to come deliver it. Just the nicest people ever. Make sure you call ahead bc they def make everything fresh and right then and there, so be prepared to wait a bit, its worth it. They are the best!!!!
Small cozy place food was good. if you ask me I definetly would come back even though i drive more then 45 minutes to get there... Update review: I am still coming to this place. The pupusas are yummy and also the yuca with chicharron, and don't forget the horchata. Also try the churrasco, it is very delicious 100% recommended salvadorian restaurant. The waitresses are very friendly.
Pupusas were awesome. They fruit drinks amazing. Had the tamarind and marañon. Can't go wrong with either. The tamarind was the best I've ever had... including my homemade.
Yeah they take forever but that's how you know they're not just reheating your food. I'm originally from a town with a high population of Central Americans and let me just say that this place is totally authentic food. It's so good and tastes just like the food my Salvadoran friends make.
Went today ordered 60 pupusas!! Not expensive at all in my opinion just right. And once i got home the price was well worth it because they were so GOOD! Order was ready on time and nicely packed. Disappointed at first that they didnt have chicharrón since thats all i ever tried but the young man that took my order recommended chicharrón with frijol and cheese and wow! Loved them!!! The sauce was delicious as well!! But the side of mixed vege that goes on it was a little bit over salty but that definitely wont stop me from ordering again! So glad i tried this place and tried a new flavor pupusa! Much closer than spring valley! Support small business!!!
Don't underestimate this little hole in the wall. It has no decor or sense of fashion, but the food is AMAZING. The pupusas are the best I've ever had and I've been to the depths of Manhattan. The are fresh, meaty and taste home made. If your looking for ambiance, not the place for a first date. Great food, make sure you stop by.
I had the pupusas with cheese and lokasta, a type of flower, and rice and beans. The pupusa was very good. The rice and beans was on point, very flavorful and nice serving size. Not bad for $5 meal. Good customer service.
Great place for authentic food. The prices are very good. $3.50 per pupusa but they are big. Comes with the cabbage slaw and salsa. For pupusa I recommend the queso and loroco, chipillin or chicharrón one, they also have calabaza (pumpkin). So a lot of vegetarian friendly options. My friends got the platter with rice and beans and steak, lots of food, can share it. For drinks I had tamarindo juice and friends got Pepsi and Sprite. I recommend you try Marañón juice. It's the cashew fruit, creamy and delicious! The service was a little slow but there was only one person doing orders. Lots of orders going out for delivery. Support local businesses.
I've come here twice so far for the famous Salvadorian pupusas and they did not disappoint! The pupusas were yummy. I've not dined in yet nor tried anything else from their menu. If you like pupusas like me I highly recommend this place 😋
The order took over an hour. Order only was almost 30 pupusas that’s it. So make sure you make time to wait when ordering a to go order.. the pupusas were good not the best I ever tasted but would recommend… What upset me was they barely like casi nada like none of the tomatillo sauce and curtido in my order… for almost 30 pupusas I got three extremely little containers (like the ones you fill ketchup with at McDonald’s) along with three small ziploc bags half full of curtido.. it was not enough for the amount of pupusas ordered and the amount of money I paid.. I was not happy… I did try their queso y chipilin pupusas which I never had and they were good… maybe the sit in experience would have been different but not take out… with the wait time and ratio of the amount sauce/curtido to pupusas received, I give them three stars…
This restaurant takes hrs to serve you, at list 1hr, been there a couple times same history 😑 i ordered some to go they tell me 30 min. Took 1 hr. Service very poor no complaining a about the food. No recommend for quick bite.
The food takes forever to come out. Every time I come here we continue to wait more than 40 minutes for our food and sometimes even longer, also there’s only two other tables. The service is terrible. The pupusas are good sucks to see restaurants have good food and terrible service.
