Taquiza North Beach Reviews
Happy hour at Taquiza in North Beach is a great deal. Half off margaritas from 3 to 6pm. The classic margaritas were fresh and strong. Steak tacos were juicy and flavorful on blue corn tortillas. Cool spot with tasty food and drinks. Worth a visit.
Taquiza in North Beach is SUCH a gem. The totopos are a MUST. Al pastor taco was my fave, absolute standout. Churros were delicious with warm dark chocolate, dream combo. Hibiscus water was a 10/10. Super cute minimalist decor too. There’s ongoing construction, but it doesn’t take away from the vibe at all.
Food is really good but very very slow. Don’t come here unless you have plenty time to spare. Tacos take 30 min. Tortillas are fresh and delicious. Service is the slowest I have ever experienced. Food is really good though!!!!
The tacos are bold, flavorful, and packed with quality ingredients. Everything tastes super fresh, and the seasoning is spot-on without being heavy. The vibe is casual but elevated, exactly what you’d expect from a Michelin-recognized taco spot in Miami Beach — nothing pretentious, just great food made with real ingredients.
Came for the Michellin recommendation, and what an amazing experience! Had three tasty tacos, a must Margarita, and a must French dry-white wine from Jean-Pierre Robinot!
This is such a hidden gem. I was lucky enough to experience this each of the two days while I was in town (take out and dine in). The staff were extremely friendly and made everyone feel so welcome. My friend, who is dairy free and gluten-free, had so many options, which was incredible. The food was spectacular, with my highlight being the Mahi Tacos. I am still dreaming about them a week later. I wish I was in town longer so I could have eaten their entire menu. If you're in Miami Beach, this is a must eat!
If you only ate chips and salsa this place is five stars. The blue corn tortilla chips are amazing. But every taco was also cooked and sauced to perfection. The fish tacos are the star because the fish is perfectly flaky and the batter is like eating flavorful fry bread. Make sure you give it all a try.
1.18.25 We stopped in for margaritas and tacos as a quick bite. This is such a cute and casual place with indoor and outdoor seating. While we were here, it was under construction, so we could not access it from the beach. The tacos taste and look amazing. It's that "eat with your eyes" thing. And the margaritas with a spicy rim are just perfection.
If you’re in Miami and craving authentic Mexican flavors, Taquiza is an absolute must-visit. This spot is all about fresh, handmade tortillas, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The dedication to quality ingredients and traditional techniques sets them apart, making it one of the best taquerias around. A must-order item? The totopos. These aren’t your average chips—they’re handmade, torn tortillas deep-fried to crispy, salty perfection. Pair them with the queso, and you’ve got a seriously addictive appetizer. Don’t skip this—it’s unreal! When it comes to the main dishes, the quesadillas are incredible, but be warned—they’re huge! If you’re planning to try multiple dishes, be mindful of portion sizes. The tacos are another highlight, and we made sure to try them all. While each had its own unique appeal, our top pick was the Mahi Mahi—perfectly seasoned, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Another must-try? The Elotes. Taquiza’s take on Mexican street corn is absolutely delicious—charred, coated in creamy, tangy goodness, and packed with flavor. It’s the perfect side to complement any dish. Overall, Taquiza delivers on every level—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and an authentic experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a feast, this place is a winner. Just come hungry and be ready to indulge in some of the best Mexican food in town!
Great taco spot across from the beach! Delicious menu with good options to choose from fish, to chicken, steak and more. Try their totopos (tortilla chips) with guacamole. The fried fish taco is so good! They also serve great margaritas. Outdoor and indoor seating areas.
It’s a bit hard to find at the moment, because the area is under construction 🚧 but well worth looking. 👀 🌮✨ Forget everything you know about tortilla chips… because Taquiza in North Beach just redefined them! The Totopos are somewhere between a corn pancake and a crêpe but in tortilla format, fried to crispy perfection on the outside while staying soft and gooey inside. Absolute heaven in every bite. 🤤💛 And let’s talk about the quesadilla—a masterpiece in itself. One “shell” was made with squash and cheese, fried like a crunchy tortilla, while the other was a soft, rich blend of Cotija, beans, and bold vegetarian flavors. 🍷 The sangria was also heavenly. If you love authentic, elevated Mexican food, this is your spot. 🌮🔥
We love visiting everytime we are in town. Just a chill and easy vibe. The chips/salsa/guac are amazing. The tacos get better with each bite. Great service. Can't wait to come back. Thanks guys.
So goooooood. This place is a local GEM in North Beach and I regret not coming sooner. Don’t skip the Totopos (trust me). Also love that the entire menu is Gluten Free
shrimp tacos are incredible
So fresh!! Loved every bite. And churros are a definite must!
Good spot! Located along the boardwalk (currently construction in front of the restaurant). Dishes are rather affordable and delicious. Taco sold individually and the dip was very good. The churros are tossed in sugar and cinnamon, surprising but very good. The hibiscus sangria tasted a bit chemical. The waitress was very friendly.
Michelin Guide 2025 so had to come and try. Their elote and quaesadillas are very tasty. They are known for their Totopos but the other items on the menu also delicer very well. Highly recommended! Food is delivered quickly which is good. However, the staff make you pay the bill without seeing what’s on the bill. I asked where the bill is and they said you’ll get a copy after the payment. This is extremely weird - I have never seen that before and I’m from London and travelled to many places in the US. Everything else about the restaurant is great and I initially rated this 5/5 experience but this last bit really threw me off.
This is a taco place was expecting it to be really tasty because is all they have to offer but the beef was hard the fish wasn’t good and the chicken was dry then had the churro and that was hard as well . Going to have to continue my search for a good taco place because this one is not it . Also the place is hard to find unless you are staying in the hotel that is in , and the street is under construction so the area doesn’t look good at all .
I am not surprised the place is in the Michelin guide it is really amazing tacos are better than in Mexico! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🌮🌮🌮🌮 UPDATE: great food but beware it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays! I invited my friend and he just came to a closed door. This is absolutely awful😖. I have to take 2 stars away for that.
They deserve a mention for their tortilla chips; they are truly original and delicious. The tacos are very small, but overall, it's annoying how they charge an 18% service fee when it doesn't include anything, not even bread or any other amenities (you have to ask for water), and then they try to charge a tip.
A few months ago I would have given this place 5 stars on everything. Unfortunately, they just changed EVERYTHING! I went there a few days ago to get my usual, and the place had been recently renovated. It went from vibrant, fun and welcoming to boring, plain colors. I was hoping they’d stopped there, but they also changed the food! The mahi taco is now grouper—which is okay—but the slaw underneath is completely plain now, no flavor at all 🫠. Before, it was so tasty. They no longer put the radish wedges on top, and the worst part of all is THEY GOT RID OF THE GREEN SAUCE 😭😭😭 When I asked for hot sauce, they gave me a generic commercial Valentino hot sauce. They used to have the best tacos in Miami —Unique, flavorful and delicious… now it’s just another commercial, plain-Jane spot.
Great food and drinks, nice to have a table service, they need to use real dishes instead of the plastic
Probably the best thing they served us was the tap water. Everything was dry and no flavor. Truly disappointing.
It used to be my favorite taco place, but now none of them are worth it. The flavor of all the tacos has changed, and they taste like reused fat. The menu change is truly disappointing; the place looks better, but the menu is terrible!
I don’t know why this place is recommended by the Michelin guide, this was my worst Mexican/tacos experience . Service was okey they were friendly but not too attentive .i work on the business so I understand how good service is, they might were having a bad day but the food was horrible , super cold to start , dry meat , not flavour. We didn’t say snitching about food because we didn’t want to wait for time and send back 14 tacos back. But definitely not worth the 5 or 6 dollars each taco . There is better taco places in Miami for the half price of this place . Overall I give 2 stars but for food quality 1 star. On top of this over price
If things change, it's supposed to be for the better, but this place has changed for the worse. The food I used to love is now inedible. The tacos aren't the same anymore, the salsas are awful… in other words, I wouldn't go back. If I could, I'd give them negative stars.
