Great little vegan Mexican popup in the back patio of 51&Tel. Authentic flavor and food came fast! My non-vegan partner was also impressed with how good it was! I got the Nachos and was so glad I did!! Excited to come back to try more of the items out!

Nicest lady ever and the food is AMAZING! She’ll only be here for a few more weeks so go before she leaves! Everything was so flavorful and tasty and the service fast. The bar is also cute. Definitely a vibe while having some libations

Super cute bar with the best outside patio area! The drinks are creative and strong, the music is good and it’s a great vibe. There is food by Vegan Chula on the patio and let me tell you it is not only beautifully presented but it is DELICIOUS! I am not vegan so I was impressed with the flavors and textures of the food. The poblano Mac and cheese is by far one of the best I’ve ever had - it was creamy and rich with a crunchy topping that’ll change your life. The corn cakes were perfection! We will be back for more!

Stumbled on this vegan pop-up at 51st & Telegraph and it honestly blew me away. The best vegan food I’ve had, but it’s just bomb and delicious, vegan or not. The seitan tacos and chick’n fried tofu were unreal, and I’m fully obsessed with the hot honee. Everything’s made from scratch and packed with flavor. The patio is such a cute spot too! It’s perfect for a twinkly date night or chill evening with friends. Chill vibe, really nice owner. You can even bring your toddler with you for happy hour. Definitely coming back.

Bueno, bonito, y vegano. It was awesome. The fried tofu is crisp and has a great texture that's flakier than most. Crispy and flavorful. The nachos were really satisfying and rich in textures and flavors. Mac was also amazing. I have seen so many amazing vegan restaurants die off because it's just not a popular diet, so i totally get why it's only available Saturdays, but wow do I wish it was a mainstay

So glad there’s a regular place to visit have vegan Chula food. Just so happens the place is trendy and serves great cocktails. Order early because the food may take a while since a lot of people are ordering it. And you’ll understand why it’s so popular after you get to try it.

Absolutely exceptional vegan food. I’m not vegan myself but this is the place I go to when I’m out with a group and we need to accommodate a couple vegan or vegetarian diets—EVERYONE (vegan or not) always ends up raving about it—I seriously can’t believe it’s vegan (especially that mac and cheese!). I’m so glad I now know where to find Vegan Chula on the regular and Danielle, the chef and owner, was able to find the sweetest spot at 51&Tel so that you can settle in on the patio enjoy a delicious drink with a bomb meal (indoor or outdoor seating available!). Vegan Chula never disappoints. I love that the menu is small bites so that I can always order one of everything. The chef’s creativity shines through every dish with flavor combinations that are truly *chefs kiss*.

Talented vegan chef pop up…really cool vibes in the bar and patio. I had the poblano mac n chz and tofu chickun tenders. The vegan mac is the best in the east bay. Top 3 in the bay. Its creamy, buttery, a little spicy, and the poblano gives it some earthiness. One of a kind. The tofu chickun also was unique…i found it somewhere between fried chickun and a southern vegan fish fry. One reason is the texture but I also caught a hint of celery seed which could be some old bay in there. Super crispy and tasty. The hodo tofu is a quality choice. Look forward to trying the flautas next time and seeing if this chef starts their own place as its definitely filling a fusion latin niche in the vegan scene.

I've had the joy of experiencing Vegan Chula in so many ways—at vegan festivals, catered events, holiday pickup orders, and now at their permanent residency at 51 & Tel on Saturdays and Sundays. No matter the setting, the food is consistently incredible. Whether you're vegan or not, Vegan Chula's dishes are fresh, flavorful, creative, and clearly made with love. I highly recommend the poblano mac & cheese—it's a must-try—but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. When you stop by, be sure to say hi to Chef Danielle. She's as warm and welcoming as her food, and she'll be so happy you came!

Tried Vegan Chula at a few pop up events over the last couple years and thought it was delicious, so I was very happy to find out they’d be at 51st and Tel regularly!! Great back patio, yummy drinks, delicious food!
