The Top Gun House was unfortunately temporarily closed when we visited—likely due to the off-season—but it was still super cool to see in person. Being able to walk by, check it out, and take photos was a fun experience, especially for any Top Gun fans. Even though it wasn’t open, the house itself is iconic and definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to come back during the season when it’s open and fully operating.

These were so yummy! Perfect size and great flavor! I got the cherry but other got apple and strawberry rhubarb and they loved theirs. The house was also adorably nostalgic with a great location.

All the pies are delicious, I personally like the apple and blueberry ones .. the whoopie pie was outstanding too!! I’m a coffee lover and it was great too… the service was great and I think the pies are perfectly portioned!! I tried all the different types and I absolutely loved them… plus the “Top Gun” house movie reference was good..

These pies were delicious, cooked fresh light, and crispy. Great size for a quick snack and love that it came in 3's. Located at the top gun house so it was cool just to take pics there while you snacked on a yummy dessert. They also have lots of outside seating.

The Top Gun House, now home to The Famous High Pie, is a perfect blend of history, nostalgia, and delicious treats! Originally built in 1887, this Victorian cottage is one of Oceanside's oldest homes. It gained worldwide fame as the home of Charlie, played by Kelly McGillis, in the iconic Top Gun film. The house was carefully relocated to its current spot near the Oceanside Pier, where it has been lovingly restored and transformed into a charming pie shop. The Famous High Pie serves up incredible hand pies that are as delightful as the setting. It’s a must-visit for Top Gun fans and anyone who loves a good slice of history with their dessert. With its stunning location, movie memorabilia, and unbeatable pies, the Top Gun House is a sweet stop you won’t want to miss!

For those a fan of the Top Gun movies, this is a must visit. On top of that, the pies were actually really good as well as the organic creamy straus soft serve they sell. I was originally going for the apple pie a la mode but they were out. So I ended up getting just one small apple pie and a side of soft serve ice cream. Me and my partner really loved the apple pie bites we ordered more to go. I don’t know what people are expecting and why such low reviews but I definitely thought it was worth the stop and the desserts didnt disappoint.

Overall cool experience. The pies were kinda small, but tasty. Some of them came on a stick, so it’s freat to give to the kiddos. They also had their version of a ding dong, & that was almost better that the pie.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting High Pie, a coffee and pie restaurant located in the historic Top Gun house in Oceanside. As someone who is sensitive to gluten, I was thrilled to discover that all of the items on the menu at High Pie are gluten-free. This is a rarity in the world of baked goods and coffee, so I was very excited to give this restaurant a try. The location of this restaurant is simply unbeatable, with a stunning view of the ocean and the Oceanside pier directly across the street. We decided to sit on the patio to take in the incredible view, and it was definitely worth it. The restaurant operates on a self-serve model, with a variety of coffee and pie options available for purchase at the counter. I decided to go with a "cup of Joe," which was their version of a quick coffee, and it was delicious. It was also incredibly affordable, with a price of just $1. My girlfriend ordered a small square of their cherry pie, which was packaged in a box and ready to go. Despite the packaging, the pie was still incredibly delicious. The crust was flaky and buttery, and the filling was sweet and perfectly tart. Despite the self-serve model, the staff at High Pie were still incredibly friendly and helpful. They were available to answer any questions we had and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The restaurant itself is located within a historic building that is known as the Top Gun house, where the original Top Gun movie was filmed. This added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant, and it was fun to be dining in such a unique and memorable location. Overall, I have to say that High Pie is a fantastic restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Oceanside area, especially those who are sensitive to gluten. The location is unbeatable, with a stunning view of the ocean, and the food and service are both top-notch. Whether you're in the mood for a quick coffee or a delicious slice of pie, High Pie has something for everyone, and I can't wait to visit again soon.

HIGH-pie is a dessert shop located in the newly-restored “Top Gun house,” which is the iconic house where Charlie’s character lived in the film (the house was recently relocated from its original spot on Pacific Street). This quaint and elegantly decorated shop sells gluten-free bite-size apple & cherry pies. They also serve coffee and a small selection of other beverages. It’s a bright and friendly environment and the pies are very tasty (you’ll probably want to order more than one!). There is limited seating inside as well as a nice patio outside with several tables. Top Gun fans will definitely enjoy this nostalgic tribute to the classic film!

Great spot with fun Top Gun memorabilia, perfect views and the best pie! We love the mini pies. The crust is flakey and delicious and the fillings are amazing. My favorite is the cherry and cranberry (seasonal), hubby's fave was pumpkin and kids favorites are apple. They're all so good! And for anyone needing gluten-free, go try their gf pies, they're celiac safe!.

Wanted to see the new renovations and fun that became of the original Top Gun house, and I was pretty stoked! Super cute interior, lots to look at, and the food was yummy! Cherry, apple & limited time strawberry rhubarb hand pies, which all were divine! Paired with the 1$ cup o'joe, and I was one happy camper! Super sweet staff too! Please be kind to all you meet, especially food service! They've gotten deal with us all day, haha~ Will definitely be back to grab another treat!

Absolutely darling and quaint from entry to exit! Store front is clearly at an amazing location, great decor with Top Gun flair all around, easily navigable, simple menu and DELICIOUS pies with courteous and friendly staff as well as plenty of space to enjoy your pies!! My favorite thing: the size of the pies. Just brilliant! And I indulged in one apple, one cherry and one blueberry. BRAVO!

We went here after dinner at Hello Betty (also very good). The buzz tower ice coffee was great and apple pie a la mode was delicious! Strawberry rhubarb was wonderful too. Cute little addition to the O’side pier area.

High Pie in the Top Gun House is a delightful blend of nostalgia and sweet indulgence. This historic house famously featured in the original Top Gun movie with Tom Cruise, adds a cinematic charm to the experience. Inside, you’ll find a cozy setting filled with vintage and antique decor, creatively mixed with photos and memorabilia from the film. It’s like stepping onto a movie set with a side of dessert. The star of the show here is the delicious little hand-held pies, served warm with a dusting of powdered sugar. There’s a variety of flavors to choose from. We tried the apple and cherry, and both were absolutely delicious and just the right size for a satisfying treat. Their fruity drinks were a hit with us too. Whether you’re a Top Gun fan or just in the mood for a great dessert with an Ocean view, High Pie is a charming stop that’s well worth the visit!

Don’t understand the low reviews. It’s a nice spot to swing by if you’re in the area. Definitely not a spot I would go out of my way to visit. Prices aren’t bad. It’s $3 for a small pop tart and $3 for a cup of coffee. People pay way more at other tourist spots. Kids loved it. Get the apple pie. Come and get some pies, a coffee and a display of Top Gun memorabilia with a dash of nostalgia. Hot guys spiking volleyballs on the beach are not included.

I have always heard about High Pie and follow them on social media and when I found out we had a parking space and were in the area of course we had to go check it out! The house itself is iconic and there are a few landmark signs around. As soon as you walk up towards the front door you see a replica of the cycle Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis famously ride along the Oceanside beach to the house. Lots of photo ops and interesting info around. Loved the pic of Goose and Ice Man inside where you pick up your pies. Pies are $3 each and flavors available today we're cherry, blueberry, and seasonal (lemon and peach). There are even dipping sauces and an ala mode option. We opted for a dozen pies which was about $34 and two sides of lemon curd ($2/each). We got a variety of apple, lemon, and peach pies. The apple pie was tasty when warm, the peach was so good (even cold) and the lemon was super tart and refreshing. At first it seemed a bit pricey but well worth the price. The crust is buttery and flaky and the hand held mini pies are stuffed with filling. The atmosphere is neat, there are a few seats indoors and plenty of seating outside. The staff was friendly enough and the wait time from ordering to getting pies and coffee was fairly quick. I would for sure stop by if in the area, it's a great local piece of San Diego history for sure.

Fun to see the house & motorcycle from the original Top Gun movie! Beautiful location across from the Oceanside pier. We ordered regular & gluten free pies. Strawberry rhubarb with ice cream was our favorite. Pies are okay but not amazing.

We stopped by High Pie in Oceanside and sampled a little of everything. The whoopie pie was the weakest link — the cake part tasted like plain chocolate flour, dry and crumbly. The cream filling was fine, but overall it just didn’t land. The Rice Krispie treat was okay, but nothing memorable. The pies, though? Absolute stars!!! The apple and guava pies had a gooey center packed with flavor and bliss — flaky on the outside, rich and delicious on the inside. I honestly just want a whole box of those! I’m not a cherry fan personally, but everyone else in my group really enjoyed the cherry pies too. Service was a bit slow since the same person takes your order and then goes to make it, but for those apple and guava pies, the wait is worth it. The staff themselves were super polite and sweet. And then the bonus: as a huge av geek and Top Gun fan, the movie memorabilia was chef’s kiss — especially the bike out front. Such a fun touch!

I'm a big Top Gun fan so the stars really are for the house itself. It's cute and has a motorcycle out front for photo ops. The pies are tiny little squares, It was fine because I just wanted to try it but no substance really. Just take the picture out front and maybe a walk through.

Was excited to go in! Was my 1st time and I was enjoying the scenery and the pies and pastries looked great! The two young people never greeted me or acknowledged me and when I saw and mentioned what I thought was a chocolate pie; the young lady derisively and unenthusiastically said said while giving me a sideways glance “that’s a blueberry pie”. Great location but definitely disappointed by the customer service. Will try again another’s time :)
