Mendocino Farms Palo Alto Reviews
2026.01.03 Saturday Mendocino Farms in Palo Alto CA is consistently serving great fresh and sustainably sourced foods and improving their services. Their menu is so refreshing that we came back more than 3x to try their very delicious menu! *The Not So Fried Chicken Sandwich is very satisfying! Great juicy chicken with fresh vegetables! *The Vegan Avocado 🥑 & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada 🥗 is so refreshing! *The Greek Lemon Chicken Farrro Soup (see pic)🥣, we ordered 4x in 2 days! So healthy. Mendocino Farms use very fresh ingredients! The Closing Manager 🤩”Jorge” is so helpful. He does quality checks of foods and asks very pertinent questions regarding how we like the foods. Jorge is always very positive and offers great service! Yes, 🙌 we really appreciate the atmosphere here because the people are nice, they work as an effective team, and they keep the place clean! Will definitely come back more often!
Amazing! Mendocino Farms - the healthiest food in Palo Alto California (on Hamilton St, Palo Alto downtown)! Just heard that they are expanding everywhere! 🙏♥️ 🥰 The very caring manager Alan recommended the (1) Not So Fried Chicken Sandwiches & they are SOOOOO DELICIOUS! We ordered 3x! (2) All their salads are fantastic! THOUGHTFULLY SOURCED & SUPER FRESH! (3) The curried couscous is out of this universe! Must come again! This restaurant represents the beautiful spirits of Mendocino CA very thoughtfully and compassionately. Thank YOU 🙏 so much! We will ask all of our friends and families to come join us @ Mendocino Farms! ♥️🙏😍
Absolutely delicious salads and sandwiches. Everything we got was so flavorful. Curried couscous is a must have Not so fried chicken sandwich was our favorite! You need to try it. For salad, we got the mama Chen chicken salad and the peanut flavored dressing really made it! We got the seasonal chicken corn which was good as well. The environment is nice there’s outside and indoor seating and service was great. Will be back
Absolutely delicious and health focused sandwich and salad restaurant (although they have some tasty not so healthy options as well!). The ingredients and dishes here are carefully crafted, extremely high quality, and delicious. They even have vegetable juices on tap. I highly recommend either of the steak sandwich options or the not-so-fried chicken sandwich. Wow, simply amazing. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and located in a lovely area of Palo Alto. When ordering, you order at the counter and then sit at whatever table you want. You scan the QR code on your cable and your receipt and they bring the food to you pretty quickly! Highly recommended, one of the coolest and tastiest sandwich locations I’ve been to recently.
Great food like most other Mendocino Farm locations. I like how you can substitute the bread for sandwiches and how many different types of breads they have. You can even choose to have it hot, cold, or pressed into a panini. I usually go for the panini-style ciabatta. You can substitute salad dressing too. The seasonal peach & goat cheese salad I got today was amazing. But the absolute best salad they offer is the pink lady beets & goat salad, hands down. If you have a Mendocino account, sometimes they add deals you can use. I also got a seasonal sandwich because it was half-off. Wanted to try it. Also amazing.
Had the vegan Reuben sandwich and tofu green bean salad. Both of these were out of this WORLD. Unfortunately, I was too full to eat another entire sandwich, but if I could’ve, I would’ve! The sandwich had a crunchy exterior, the fake meat has a satisfying chew, and the entire bite was just so juicy and flavorful. The green bean tofu salad is SO GOOD. I can’t even describe the medley of flavors and the variety in textures. I’d eat this every day. Mendocino Farms, come to New York!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2022 UPDATE (5/5⭐): I love their new Thai Mango Salad! 2021 Review (3/5⭐): Super friendly but food takes forever... The Chinese Chicken Salad is just okay. Nothing special. Grilled Cheese was already cold when they brought it out :(
Mind blowingly good salads for takeout and delivery. The Caesar 2.0 and sophisticated proscuitto were both so delicious and inventive! I don’t know what’s in the superfood krunchies but those are a must have in any order. Side note: The shake-ability of their to go containers is unparalleled—it’s so easy to fully mix the salad yourself!
Five stars for excellent service from the moment you walk in and all the way until you finish your meal. Very friendly workers at the front who can explain the menu if it is your first time and will give samples of their side dishes near the register. When our food arrived we had people checking on us to make sure everything was alright. I would say the food itself is closer to 4 stars (the chicken and tuna were just ok) but would be my pick for a quick, healthy lunch in downtown PA.
One of the best place for yummy sandwiches and resh salads . We ordered summer street corn and not so fried chicken sandwiches… both were so amazing, ordered Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada salad which was very fresh and crunchy. Veg chill was excellent not very heavy. They have limited but good beers on tap.
Never disappoints! The Modern Caesar was delicious. The outdoor seating was perfect. Not pictured the amazing vegan Bahn Mi sandwich. Service was fast and the restaurant was very clean.
The food is fresh and delicious - yum! Francisco, the manager, made the experience even better - Good service makes everything better :) Spicy Thai chicken sandwich - 5 out of 5 Chicken Pesto Caprese sandwich Combo (side: potato salad) - 5 out of 5

One of my favorite salads is the not so fried chicken, substitute the vinaigrette for thai vinaigrette, add extra chicken Also the lemon chicken soup farro is the best.
The food is simply delicious. I ordered from them for a retreat i had with about 44 people. Not only was the food decimated by overwhelmed mouths, my friends concluded that Mendocino was going to be the only place we ordered lunch from during our retreats. Also, I loved how they were quite responsive on phone and how I also found my order ready. One of the staff helped me carry the heavy bags to my car and arranged them for me in the car. This made me feel relieved and special. I definitely recommend them 💯

Stopped by Mendocino Farms and ordered the Vegan Banh Mi sandwich for takeout. The sandwich was really good — fresh ingredients, great balance of flavor, and the tofu was perfectly marinated with just the right amount of crunch and spice. Service was friendly but took a bit longer than expected for a takeaway order. Still, the food quality made up for it. Overall, a tasty and satisfying meal — I’d definitely come back to try more from their menu.
We wanted something that was reasonably priced. This was a good choice. Very fresh. Nice selection. The salads were very large. The food had a good flavor profile. We would go back definitely.
Total Score: 7.88 Bathroom: N/A Didn’t use the bathroom Customer Service: N/A Was takeout restaurant Ambiance: 4.5/5 Cow farm core. Food: 4.5/5 Grabbed quick bite before pickleball and this was YUM. Lowkey thought this was vegan salad place before coming here but the sandietches were loaded with meat and sauce. Good combos too Wow: 0/1 Normal sandwich restaurant. Total Score = (2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW)/0.8

My new favorite sandwich and salad place. Ingredients are fresh, quality is consistent, and price is reasonable. I have a few favorites. Only knock is some others are a “miss” to me in terms of taste (below). But overall, highly recommended! My personal ratings: - Thai mango salad 10/10 - avocado and quinoa superfood salad 8/10 - chicken and hummus crunch wrap 8/10 - “not so fried” chicken 8/10 - Chinese chicken salad 6/10 - Peruvian steak 6/10

Food poisoning from a salad, WTH. I love (loved) Mendocino Farms and get salads from them frequently. Got a couple salads recently that had brown avocados on them. Pretty disappointing because the up-charge for avocado is steep. We tried eating around the brown bits but both my husband and I got food poisoning. This was the only thing we ate in the period before we got sick. Very disappointing. Gonna have to find a new place for salads.
I attempted to get a prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich and left empty handed. First I asked for the spicy ingredients to be on the side. I was told there was hardly any spice, but they could accommodate that. It arrived covered in a chile aioli. It was so spicy I wasn’t able to eat it. When I took it to the counter I was told to dump it in the trash myself. “What would we want your food for,” was what was said back to me. They made a second sandwich, forgot half the ingredients and didn’t cut the sandwich. It was prosciutto, nuts, and bread thrown on a tray, making it hard to pick up. The peaches weren’t ripe and were hard as rocks. The sandwich fell apart when picked up. I was given a refund and left hungry. The staff seemed to think this interaction was typical and had reasons why they had cut the first sandwich but not the second, how they could give me mozzarella so I could finish making the sandwich myself on my tray…the whole thing was absurd for an $18 sandwich.
Don't order here if you are in a rush. I ordered ahead and arrived around order due time but I still need to stand there and wait for 15 minutes. And it‘s not even meal time😅this happened at least twice at this specific store😅
THE MANAGER OF THIS MENDOCINO HAS ZERO PEOPLE/CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. His name is JORGE and he has a short-tempered, argumentative, confrontational, "hate my job" attitude towards customers. Jorge does NOT know how to smoothly resolve a simple issue with an order. Instead of resolution, he is argumentative and all he wants is to be right. Jorge should be ashamed the way he treats his customers as well as other Mendocino employees. One of Mendocino's nice employees had great customer-service skills and resolved our issue right away but Jorge stopped him in his tracts and let this employee know that JORGE IS THE BOSS AND JORGE WILL DECIDE NOT HIM, reversing out a simple resolution that was already decided. We ended up not even eating here. DO NOT COME TO THIS MENDOCINO if you want a good meal without grief and hassle.
