Sushi Kokku Paso Robles Reviews
So delicious! The one that stood out was the crazy roll! Wow. Tasted so light and crispy. Great service too.
Always good. Great food and service. Lots of choices, but we love the chicken or shrimp teriyaki bowls...
Been coming here for years, love it! Best teriyaki bowl in the area. Friendly & fast service. Restaurant is always clean.
The most reasonably priced & best tasting sushi in SLO
Great food great prices. A girl that used to work there tome (kinda rudely) "that's what the condiment cups are for", when we try to take a bottle of hot sauce to the table. (Absolutely no one else in the restaurant and other available hot sauce bottles). (also had a lady whistle at me like I was a dog when I didn't hear them say my order was up) 🤦🏻♂️ same condiment cup girl "thank you for helping". I was like yeah thank you for whistling at me like a dog instead of waiting till I turned around. Any ways new people working now and it's legit. 👍
Sushi is great vibes great that’s all I gotta say
I absolutely love this place. They are kind enough and give you miso soup while you wait. My favorite rolls are the Crazy Roll and Dragon Roll. For the people that don't eat raw fish there is different noodle soup and teriyaki chicken with white rice. I really like this place:)
Yummmyyyyy, and very good environment
Love this place. Very nice people and the place is clean. Service is great. The food is hot and ready fast. I love, love, love their CRAZY ROLL!!!!!
Love it! The sushi is always fresh & delicious. Portions are great and it has a calm, friendly atmosphere. Sushi Kokku has become our dinner date spot!
Excellent service, delicious, and very reasonable priced. If you are traveling through Paso Robles, Ca. Do yourself a favor and stop here for a bite. Today I ordered the Alaskan roll, and pretty sure the rest of menu is as delicious. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend. Goes well with a cold beer🤠 I came back and once again it was a home run!! I will definitely make this sushi restaurant a favorite stop for me! Outstanding service and quality, very reasonable prices and an excellent atmosphere to relax and have a great meal. Stop and treat yourself, highly recommend!
This place is my favorite go to!!! Other sushi places in town are either expensive or have a long wait, but food here is always fast and always delicious 😄 not meant to be fancy dining but you will leave with a full belly for sure!

Love coming here, prices are very reasonable. Have been a devout customer since they have opened. Super friendly staff, always helpful, and it’s always clean! I have always been happy with every roll and bowl I have had. Their tempura is so yummy as well!
Sushi Kokku on first street was really good. We stopped in to order food to go. The young man who took our order was so nice and patient with us as we decided what to get. The chef was very nice too and made our food fast. The Dynamite roll was, well... DYNO-MITE!!!!! I got the Alaska roll too and is was great. My wife had some sashimi and she said it was very fresh and delicious. This place is very casual and an excellent choice for a quick sushi meal that is great quality and flavor.
Great sushi. I tried the Crazy roll
It's a good quick to go Japanese restaurant. Ordered at the counter and either dine in or take to go. It's a chain, there are several in San Luis Obispo County. All of them consistently have good food. Service fluctuates a little bit from place to place, but overall it's my go-to for quick good Japanese food in the county.
We really enjoy this place. Yummy rolls (get the Texas roll!) My son loves it because they give him extra crab instead of rice! A good place for low carb options, too. Great service. easy location!
The flavor is so good,i like very much, and the sushi is very fresh, the sesame sauce on top is tasty.
Big sushi Rolls, delicious water and a great price
This place has great sushi in a relaxed setting, easy to take kids to (if they like sushi). They have veggie sushi rolls which are vegan, and you can build sushi rolls with only cucumber or avocado or other veggies. If you are vegan, I would recommend you ask if the sushi has sauce on it because they do like to squirt some of the rolls with sauces. We love this spot.
This is a cute sushi place with many ideals to choose off the menu. The workers are very friendly , and joyful. I will definitely be coming back 5/5.
The sushi here is amazing! Such good portions and great service. My go to is the snake roll.
Wow! I would give them 6 stars for the dynamite roll. Walking distance from the Courtyard and super nice service. I would recommend this sushi restaurant for your dinner too

Best quick lunch or dinner when you're looking for Japanese food. I have always found the sushi fresh and well made, both rolls and nigiri. For those that don't like fish, the soups and teriyaki bowls are outstanding and come out quick. Casual environment, order at the counter and it's delivered to your table. Will scratch your itch in a hurry!
The food was pretty good. We had lunch there today and were overall happy. The 4 stars was because the flies that didnt seem to want leave. They need to do something about that
My boyfriend likes to get sushi here from time to time and we went here together for dinner for the first time. As I'm not a fan of sushi, I got chicken udon. My boyfriend got a dynamite roll. It was quiet, and staff seemed friendly. It's not badly priced either.
Reasonably priced sushi and bowls. Pretty quick service and nice employees. Take out is available. Recommend the teriyaki bowls, tempura and Dragon/Crazy/Shrimp Tempura rolls. There are quite a few vegan/vegetarian options as well that are yummy.
Very tasty caterpillar roll. Their small serving coleslaw on the plate is delicious. Outdoor seating, next to freeway entrance, but outside! You'll be satisfied if you eat here.💕
I always order from this place and i love it, but it seems recently the quality has gone down. otherwise they are great!
The food is alright, but nothing special. They have a nice little patio for pets or outdoor seating. The sushi isn't quite what you expect for a full blown sushi restaurant, this is more just quick rolls and bowls to go. The quality is good and the portions and specials are a good deal. Just dont really expect something to set them above the other sushi restaurants. It's a great place to grab sushi or teriyaki bowls for a quick lunch at a decent price.

Avocado roll was un-eventful. Much rice, small quantity of avocado. Seaweed did not encircle the entire roll. ??? Miso soup was tasty though as well as the teriyake beef bowl I do give credit to counter person. She was very polite.
I... wasn't hugely impressed. The food was good, the ambiance was nice, but it took nearly 45 mins for us to get 3 rolls. Kinda bummed there wasn't a bigger selection or sushi or sashimi, nor counter seats. As far as sushi goes, there are better places in Paso. It has a fast food vibe, but hugh end wait times and prices.
Had to get up and ask twice for a sake. Third time was a look at waitress, who told someone else to prepare it. Only 3 other tables with people. Got a call from my mortgage broker who said she just received an email or text with my dining bill. That is the second time from eating there. I will investigate that. I wont be eating there again.
Casual and quick place to eat. We stopped by on our way from la to Monterey. We got veggie udon noodles, chicken teriyaki bowl, and 3 rolls. All tasted good. Liked how the rolls came with a side of creamy cabbage salad. However the rolls could be rolled up tidier; the rice on the outside was a bit messy and had too much rice. Would have given this place 4 stars if the place didn’t have so many dead bugs lining the window sill and flying around inside. Kind of gross as we were eating and had to constantly shoo away the bugs from our food.
Lacks finesse in their preparation of “Japanese” food. The rolls had too much rice and they put a spicy mustard that needs to go or at least ask the customers if they’d like the house sauce on top. Seems like a spicy mustard from a bottle with sesame oil and sesame seeds. I had to wipe it off all of our rolls with a napkin. M My son got the teriyaki chicken and complained of it being sour. I tried it and it tasted heavily of yeast. I didn’t dislike it, but I could see how an 11 year old might not like it. It wasn’t terrible but I don’t think I’d come back here. My youngest got the vegetable udon and there were a ton of vegetables in it and was probably the best thing we got amongst 5 rolls, a teriyaki and a the udon. If you’re not too familiar with Japanese, this might be an okay place.
I have ordered the shrimp tempura rolls and a sushi combo. The ingredients are not fresh and the presentation wasn't the best. It did taste ok.

First time trying this restaurant. It was good. It satisfied a desire. But if you want more authentic sushi I would look elsewhere. I tried the salmon skin roll, snake roll, and the crazy roll. The salmon skin was more like a cooked salmon roll not so much skin. If you're looking for crunch like I was this isn't it. Also, very plain and bland. The snake roll was really good. The eel was my absolute favorite part. The crazy roll was "crazy". It had a lot of ingredients, the pieces are huge but you get about 6 pieces. It had a bit of crunchiness to it. The rice on all of the rolls fell apart so easily. I would grab with my chopsticks and the roll would just disintegrate. Messy. All in all, This is your typical fast food sushi joint. I just wish they put more flavor in the rolls. But good sushi for the price.
Putting aside when the cashier forgot about my order within my party of 6, everything we ordered had way too much rice in it, which was still warm. The price of our was cheap, but I wouldn't go back. Average at best.
Good food at good prices. But I have gone there 4, maybe 5 times and they’ve turned the fryers off 30-40 minutes before they “shut” so I couldn’t order what I wanted. And half the time, they don't always give you the correct rolls that you order when getting more than 5. Not going there again.
I've always loved this place but I've noticed it's gone down hill recently. We get the same exact thing every single time and have for years. Recently they have said they don't make veggie teriyaki bowls (which is literally the same as the chicken teriyaki bowl, just without chicken and more veggies with a few pieces of tofu). They have recently dropped all their beef (bulgoki) so whatever, we changed that order to chicken teriyaki, but then they raised their prices as well. Two out of 3 of our last orders we have been told they don't do veggie teriyaki bowls and this last one was sad. Rice and veggies, no tofu, no teriyaki sauce. Same guys in the kitchen so I think it's front management issues, rather than the cooks. Really bummed that we have to find a new place.
Sushi Kokku has been my familys favorite place in town for sometime until recently. My last few visits there have been disappointing. They got my order wrong after I went into great detail about the eel roll I wanted. I called sushi kokku to inform them and was told that next time I need to go into greater detail. No next time I'll go to The Naked Fish and pay extra. You get what you pay for. Enjoy my Two star review one for what they were and one for what they could be.
Sushi was bland and the restaurant was on the hot side with a lot of flies everywhere.

$70 for a pickup order.. they put my salad and roll in the same bag with my hot teriyaki bowl and fried shrimp+ soup, now my salad and sushi are warm n' mushy. Thanks 👍 oh and also no utensils or napkins. Kind of makes it hard to enjoy.

This place has gone downhill. Service is weak ..(lack of employees) So food and drink comes out one order At a time so while one person in our party Is eating the other is watching. By the time they done the other persons comes out. Saki served cold.. And air conditioning doesn't work good So forget it during summer. What a disappointment. Will not return
Terrible selection, had to clean my own table, took them forever to make our food. Would never recommend this place to anyone ever. The cost is also rather outrageous as well for the selection and lack of service. If I could give them a 1/2 star rating I would.
After eating sushi from I experienced 12 hours of bad food side effects. Everything came up and out. I have a massive headache and sweaty chills. The good made me so sick, I’ll never eat sushi again
My husband and I have been to sushi koku MANY times over the years. I ordered last night and my husband found a piece of METAL in his food (which first got stuck in his throat). This was at 9pm when they closed and we were at home. The manager Bruce refused to refund us because I didn't "bring in the food" the next day. He also proceeded to call me a liar and told me "anyone could put a piece of metal in their food" and that I "just wanted my $20 back" I'm now having to fight it through my credit card company. Seriously the WORST experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Stay FAR away from this place.
My food is usually good from this place. But this time 9/4/21 I ordered meal on doordash for pick up at 12:05 pm. I got a notification from doordash at 11:34 a.m. my order was ready for pick up. I got to the restaurant at 12:07p.m. and my order was sitting on the counter waiting. I asked the girl at the counter if my order has been out this whole time and she lied to me told me "No. We just made it." I got home less than a 5 minute drive and my spicy tuna roll was warm. I don't appreciate being lied to. Doordash gave me a refund but the restaurant is at fault. Update: 9/5/21 6:57a.m. I'm sick. Been throwing up all night and I have the chills.
Completely unacceptable! This summarizes my experience last night. I ordered a rainbow roll, seaweed salad, & miso soup. The fish slices were paper thin and all were brown and smelled fishy. I tried a bite of what I believed to be tuna and the texture was like mushy sandpaper, no taste, and old fish smell. The sauce over the roll had 0 taste. There was 1 tiny slice of cucumber, avocado, and fake crab inside. All of which had no taste and an overall mushy mouth feel. I'm not going to even waste my time reviewing the soup and and salad because it just came from a box. I spent over $17 and couldn't even eat any of it. I want my money back! I will NEVER eat at this establishment again. Shame on you Sushi Kokku!
Well we're do I start. Not much of a sushi place felt like a Cafeteria ordered up at the counter and paid first no prices on menu. I can get past this if the food was good. But that Being said the food was terrible! The Worst I ever had. I've been a sushi fan for 40 years. Ordered 4 different types of nigeri sushi and 3 sushi rolls. All The sushi rolls Phil apart before you even pick them up it. was terrible. The Mexican roll was the size of a Burrito deep fried in Fell apart You could not eat it with chopsticks. Each piece of the role was 4 times bigger than what you could put in your mouth. It looked like it blew up in the deep fryer way to much rice. Oh and the rice on everything was mush like Instant rice that's been sitting all day in a wet pan. Sushi means vinegar rice .... no vinegar. I thought The nigeri sushi would be pretty easy to do. But it had a racquetball size piece of rice. With little fish. Not sure what you could call this place. But it's not a sushi restaurant by far. Buyers beware
