Il Posto Redondo Beach Reviews
This brand new Italian restaurant on Catalina in the center of Riviera Village has great authentic food and a beautiful open air dining room that is very inviting and comfortable. The appetizers were amazing.. the freshness of the ingredients shined. They do have lighter choices and the al dente pasta with mushrooms was cooked nicely. They also have steak and seafood on the menu and it looks outstanding coming out to the tables. The service was really warm and attentive. The food here is also a good value in comparison to some of the other choices.. it feels like the prices are very reasonable for the quality. This is a welcome addition to the village dining landscape as there were not that many Italian choices beyond the pizza spots.
One of THE BEST pastas I have ever had in my life. The ingredients were so fresh that they are naturally sweet, and the food was seasoned PERFECTLY. It’s the type of food you would still finish even though you are so full. I will be returning.
The food was outstanding. The spinach ricotta ravioli was a special. I hope it becomes a permanent part of the menu. The veal was tender. The diners next to us said the lasagna was tasty but a little dry. They ordered extra sauce, and said that helped. The bar area is small, but the bar manager, Mckenzie, is friendly and was quick to fill orders. I recommend reservations on weekends, since it's small.
Loved it! Authentic Italian, each entree had flavors of Italian home cooking. Calamari with their mustard sauce was amazing. The Ossobuco was delicious, down to the bone marrow. The linguini with the seafood in foil was fire! Our wine was recommended and was superb. The service is old school nice; our server was so kind and helpful with menu options. Will be back soon. My new favorite Italian spot!
It was my first time at it posto and my daughter and I fully enjoyed it! We had the fresh pasta dish “Oricchieile Bariolioteo” and loved it! Our waitress was very accommodating and let us try a couple samples of wine before we ultimately decided on a cocktail instead. Her Cadillac margaritas were killer!! We were so impressed with the pasta maker (Bartolotteo) and the sauce maker, see photo! Great atmosphere too, we enjoyed sitting outdoors with our dog.

Service is insane. Lovely date spot and insane food. I have been here twice and just asked our waiter to choose for me. Absolutely lovely spot and we keep coming back!
What a wonderful evening we had at Il Posto, with charming service and superb food! It’s a nicely designed space, and understandably very popular. So it bit noisy, but a lovely evening with friends anyway. Can’t wait to go back!
Delicious! Love everything about this restaurant. The service and food are outstanding. The homemade beet pasta with shrimp and lobster is my favorite. The chicken milanase is also incredible. The cocktails are excellent, especially the Old Fashions and Espesso Martinis. Don't forget to order the pistachio dessert it's amazing. This is a taste of Italy in the Riviera.
Loved this place! The handmade pasta is super fresh and delicious—probably the best I’ve had in the South Bay. Great vibes, friendly service, and really tasty food. Can’t wait to come back!
The homemade orecchiette was divine and the red wine suggested was perfect. Great food and great service made for a wonderful night out!
I absolutely adore this place. Our waiter Gary has such a refreshing attitude! He was amazing checking on us and making sure we are doing great! Additionally the food was absolutely delicious and great portion size. Atmosphere was phenomenal!!!!
Great authentic Italian restaurant. Delicious pasta. My grandson is very picky. Being part Italian. He usually doesn't finish his meals. But this time eat everything saing it was the best pasta he ever had.
Bartolomeo makes the best fresh homemade pasta with so much love and joy. It's always a pleasure to dine with him. If you previously went to Avenue Italy in Redondo Beach, you'll recognize much of the staff and many of the dishes. Always tasty food and wine. I normally order the branzino, I couldn't resist the homemade spinach ravioli special tonight. Plenty of vegetarian and a few fish options for me and plenty of meat and shellfish for friends. Osso bucco is one of the favorites of a friend that came with me. Something for everyone with a friendly relaxed ambiance.
This place is extremely good. We came in the day after Thanksgiving with our family - including young kiddos - and were truly blown away by the quality of the food and the wine. Our server from Italy hand made the pastas and showed us videos of him making it. Astounding! We got everything from lasagna to pizza to fettuccine to their hand made orrichiette and they all hit. We haven’t had such good Italian since moving here from NYC! Will definitely be back.

Heard about the newly opened IL Posta from our daughter, so we decided to check it out for a weekday lunch. They’ve got a solid lunch menu with special prices, and on Tuesdays you even get a free drink — nice little perk. We tried a couple of pastas and they came out well. The pasta itself had a nice al dente bite, which I really appreciate. The Alfredo sauce was the star — creamy, cheesy, and just right. The vodka sauce leaned a little on the sour side, but still tasty overall. We also shared a flatbread; flavor was fine but I wished the crust had more crispiness to it. Service was responsive and friendly, and parking was easy with plenty of street options nearby. Overall, a good new addition to the Riviera Village dining scene — looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu.
Food was ok, very pricey for its quality.

going there tonight, wanted to get an idea of the menu - menu not visible on website, bad customer experience...
The atmosphere is ok . The owner perhaps chef greets and is very warm. The food, my meal, seemed over priced. The key to this spot , while serving some very ordinary dishes, would be for them to serve even ordinary dishes very well. I did not experience this. I encourage! The restaurant at it’s evening peek felt lively and fun. The pistachio cake desert was yummy! Ravioli w shrimp and scallops. We also had the Vegetariana salad. The wine and cocktails from my friends that night were enjoyable. Thank you!
Service was very good. They were out of 50% of their specials at 7:30 pm. Now the sad news the pasta was over cooked and mushy. We might give them a second try but not right away.

We had the branzino which was small and cold. The checca pasta special was like eating pasta shells with a jarred sauce dumped on top and the shrimp were overcooked and fishy. We had hoped for a new Italian favorite but unfortunately we won’t be back

Can’t order online because website says our order will be ready tomorrow morning. They don’t answer the phone. Tried calling 5 times. On the 6th call, they answered. I explained that I was trying to order online and also needed a place to add a note about shellfish allergies. The receptionist couldn’t answer my questions or take my order. I really tried as I had heard good things about their food. Please fix your website!
