The Bad Old Days Ridgewood Reviews
Very moody and retro - love the $10 HH espresso martinis, and they also had a small but interesting wine selection with several Greek options which you don’t often see (plus generous pours!).
Such an amazing chill eclectic atmosphere to pop an edible, have a delicious drink, hang with friends and journal. I love this place!
Love this spot, great drinks and great vibes. It feels like you are sitting in a chill living room.
Super tasty & expertly made cocktails (we had the espresso martini and medicina). Vibe is low-key, cozy and eclectic, with lots of interesting knickknacks to look at. Music was a bit “before our time”, like kinda boomer / hippy, but somehow fitting. Other patrons seem friendly and warm. We really enjoyed it and will come back.
Best espresso martini you’ll ever have— and it’s $10! I’ve been going to the Bad Old Days since I moved to Ridgewood 8 years ago. It remains one of the neighborhood’s best bars. The relaxed and cozy vibe is exactly what an anxious nerd needs. The new renovations are much needed to reflect the weekend traffic; sleek booths replaced the antique furniture, but charm remains in the antique tables and decor, chess tabletops replaced with a high top and stools, and larger bathrooms. I hope this spot never goes under, like so many wonderful Ridgewood staples ❤️
Love this place so much! It's my new favorite bar. I only wished I lived in the area so I could go all the time! It's super cozy, with bookshelves, comfy chairs, and mismatched furniture. Great prices and they have events like bad movie nights and free comedy shows. Love it!!
A few months late but finally getting around to this review. This place is great. The ambiance is extremely warm and relaxing. They have a wonderful selection of games and a nice outdoor space. I visited a couple times while I was staying in queens and was pleased with the experience every time. To top it off this place has one of the best bartenders I've encountered in the city. Her drinks are delicious and she is warm and welcoming to all real Americans. The first time I visited I happened to be wearing my all lives matter pin. She noticed it while serving me and pointed it out. I expected the typical nasty response that I get in NYC when people misinterpret my political leanings but instead she commented on how nice it was to see. The bar was somewhat busy so we didn't have a long conversation beyond that but her positive reaction really made my day. If you have a chance to have a drink here on a day the blonde bartender works I 100% recommend you do. The other couple times I visited there was another bartender who I didn't feel comfortable speaking politics with so I can't guarantee they are all as cool as the woman but he did make a decent cocktail so you will have a good time regardless of who is working. If you are in the area and want to a place to drink.. I highly recommend this one.
If you like reading within a “hippie neighborhood,” this would be the bar for you. however, I’m only giving up four stars for now, because while I do want to go into this bar more often, I’m on medication to get over many traumas, including getting over a ban from a different bar. This bar has my respect for now :-) - Zabar’s Employee
A hidden gem. It has a casual oldies feel. It's a great place to go with a group of friends if you just want to relax and catch up. The bartenders are very friendly. The drinks are decently priced. I would definitely suggest a visit here.
Loved this bar. The decor and the ambience is great. It's perfect for drinks with your special someone. The drinks are strong and good. They have bar seating and comfy chairs which I believe u can even play some board games on. Only downside is they dont sell food but u can order to deliver there. Overall nice bar with sort of a hipster style to it. Will deff come back.
only reason its a 1 star its because the drinks were good but the bartender really embarrassed me and my friend into giving her a tip not knowing it we was in a bad situation or anything. super rude & ill be refunding her tip because it was just soooo rude to put us on the spot when we just wanted to have a nice thursday night to catch up, hope that girl gets fired
