Pearson’s Market & Café Rochester Reviews
A chai enthusiasts heaven! You get to make your own chai (specify decaf/caf, spice level, milk, sweetener) and you can add flavored syrups as well. I got a hot chai w/ whole milk, 25% sweetness, and a pump of Masala syrup, and it hit the spot! The regular tea has the perfect amount of subtle spice, but if you wanted more, there is an option w/ turmeric and ginger. There is also some coffee and baked goods, but I didn’t try either. CHECK IT OUT!
Simply the best chai I've ever had, anywhere. But equally as wonderful is the experience of visiting the cafe or the market. It's a warm cup of chai and kindness all rolled into one.
I LOVE The Chai Guy!! Everything from the chai, to the vegan desserts and the love and warmth Patrick and his workers radiate. I’ve been a big fan of Patrick and his renown chai since the farmer’s market during my RIT days visiting on Saturdays. Me and my friends would always get chai, the salty pretzel bread and vegan cookies. Glad to see Patrick’s success growing and to experience being in his store on Park Ave for the first time. I came all the way from NYC to see him again. A must see and must buy chai anytime I’m in Rochester :) love you chai guy!!!!
Very impressed. I didn’t know which sweetness level I would want, and after I asked her opinion, the cashier offered a sample (with a milk of my choice) without missing a beat. Very helpful! The fully sweet is similar to the sweetness level of a grocery store chai latte mix; I found 50/50 to be perfect for me personally. It’s a really nice balance of tea and spice flavors. The price was super reasonable, especially considering the quality. Many milk choices, too. Beyond the chai itself, I was impressed with the variety of pastries (many vegan and gluten free). I wish I lived closer so I could stop in all the time!
The Chai Guy is an amazing spot to grab a cup of chai. I never knew that I loved chai until I got a cup this morning. It was super smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Pat, The Chai Guy is amazing and we had some wonderful conversations. Definitely highly recommended if you're in the area!
My husband and I usually end up in Chai Guy every single day. We’re creatures of habit and the staff know it. Everyone is so friendly and can flip your day around with just one interaction. Not quite sure where else we’d go if we didn’t have Chai Guy to fuel us! We love you guys!
Got an amazing Iced Super (adding ginger & tumeric) Oatmilk Chai Latte with an add shot!! The place is cute and the staff are friendly. Loved the selection of vegan cookies! I got an oatmeal raisin cookie, so I could eat and drink my oatmeal cookies lol. If I lived closer, aka not on the West coast, I'd definitely make this my coffee shop of choice!
Every time me wife and I come here, we are always so welcome, and we love the interactions every time. The staff is so friendly and kind. Today while there, I mentioned that I'd recently was in the hospital, and the owner was so kind to ask how I was feeling. He took extra care of us today. We love Pat, and the rest of the crew at the Chai Guy. They've been our go to place for over a year now 💜
Absolutely fantastic! My husband and I visited from out of town and loved it. The space is beautiful, clean, and well thought out. The chai was fantastic! It smelled amazing, and was the perfect space to sit and read for a few hours. The owner is kind, friendly, and very informative in helping you order. We sat and finished our drinks while reading and then ordered more for the road. They have vegan milk options, gluten free and vegan baked goods, and espresso to add to your chai. Highly recommend coming in to enjoy this place.
The Chai Guy is amazing! I work at the salon next door, and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite spots on Park Ave. The chaider is my go to this time of year, the homemade flavors are so good, and the staff is always super friendly!
Cannot say enough good things about the Chai Guy! The chai is by far the best I’ve ever had, the selection of baked goods is amazing, and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Truly the easiest way to brighten up your day is a visit to the Chai Guy. They also almost always have dog treats at the register for your pup! <3
You won't catch me drinking any other chai- I refuse!! Chai guy chai is the absolute best you can get! It's fun to customize with all the different options on the menu, especially the seasonal drinks they offer. I tell everyone I know & will continue to tell everyone to go to the Chai Guy Cafe - it's a Park Ave staple!
Rochester is so lucky to have this family owned business that caters to customers in such a personal and caring way. Chai Guy gives the Park Ave area spirit and not to mention the delicious drinks and treats. Thrilled they now carry goodies from Cutthroat Bakeshop, my personal favorite 🫶🏻
Fantastic cafe with some amazing flavours to try out. We ordered the Classic Chai with addition of Masala and a Regular Hot Chai. The Classic Chai with the Masala was delicious and packed a punch that was much needed to keep me warm as the door was left open and it was freezing! Cronut was lip smackingly delicious. Seating is limited. Off street parking is somewhat available depending on the time.
Had to wait in a very small cramped space while waiting for Cutthroat Bakery pop up. When my wife asked when the pop up would begin, Chai Guy staff kept promising " in a few minutes" . If the Chai Guy staff did not know when she would be coming, they should have just said that instead of allowing seven customers to stand around with nowhere to sit in the shop. What's worse is that on the tea side of things, the store is severely understaffed. It took 20 minutes for my wife to get her drink and the line was all the way to the door because the two baristas were having difficulty managing the order volume. This visit was a huge lapse in preparation from both the Chai Guy management and Cutthroat Bakeshop. The pop up was supposed to start at 10, the baker didn't arrive until 10:30 and then put up a sign saying she wouldn't be ready until 11 am. My wife and I left because it was way too unprofessional. Our friend stuck around and said she didn't start selling goods until 11:15 so customers were stuck waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes for their pre-ordered goods. No apologies or anything. The cherry on top was that the tiny corner piece of brownie we received was incredibly dry.
