Steve's Pizza Sacramento Reviews
I was out scouting the American River for good fishing spots with Joe the Pickpocket, and when we were done Joe insisted we go to the New Kathmandu Kitchen Restaurant for what he describes as the best food in Sacramento! Well...That's a pretty tall recommendation by anyone's standards, so off we went! And let me tell you what..The food was great, but as far as being the best in Sactown..the jury is still out. It is worthy of 5 stars though. ☆☆☆☆☆
Hands down, the best Indian food I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The sophisticated ingredients combined with the authentic cooking style create a superb experience for all your senses. The apps were delicious and even after sitting for a while (because we were eating so much food), they were not oily. The customer service is perfect. I felt catered to without feeling annoyed. I went to try items we wanted for a wedding feast. We are def hiring this place! I would eat here every day if I lived in Sacramento. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We order this for delivery. It was delicious. The chicken tikka masala and channa masala were both very good. The chicken chili must be Nepalese because not something I have seen at an Indian restaurant. It was delicious. I will order it all again. The naan was not my favorite. It was more bready than a traditional naan. Give this place a try.
The Nepalese food was on point! We enjoyed samosas, the chicken curry and the shrimp tikka masala with a side of rice and garlic basil Nan bread. Food delivery was prompt. The table service was probably the best I’ve had since before COVID. My friend also stated that the Samosas were the best she’s ever had. I’ve never had basil with my Nan bread either, so I decided to try it. 10/10 would recommend!
I came here for a bday party last year. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was great, and the restaurant had a cozy/family vibe. My best friend is here from out of state and she wanted Tikka Masala. Once again, Kathmandu Kitchen did not disappoint. I love the Butter Chicken as well. I don't think you could go wrong eating here. Love supporting small businesses! Thanks New Kathmandu Kitchen 😃
I came with my family and we enjoyed everything there! The Nepali tea was refreshing and chicken chilie, momo, paneer tikka and naan are all so delicious and I recommend this restaurant your next trip.
Another really good restaurant for Nepalese Indian food. The Lamb Vindaloo isn't listed on the menu, but they do have it. It was awesome. Different than most of the others I have had. It had a nice mildly sweet tomato flavor on the sauce. The Kema and Garlic Basil Naans were good. That is the only thing that I have had better. But they are still very good. The Mango Lassi was nice and thick. Good flavor. I would definitely come back. The people were Awesome. Great customer service
Food was great. Service was decent. I recommend the chana masala . The paneer tikka masala was okay. The rotis were soft and buttery. I really liked the roti , they got it right unlike the other Indian places.
We just had a few appetizers, a side of rice and the mango yogurt drink. All of the food was delicious, I'm a big fan of samosas, and these were se good. The mango drink was really refreshing, the restaurant was clean and the service was great. We will definitely be back.
New Kathmandu Kitchen is, as the name suggests, a new take on traditional Nepali food accompanied by tremendous service and an inviting atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you will be greeted with the beautiful decor of the restaurant, and the friendly faces of the staff. The service is top-notch - incredibly friendly and attentive. They were happy to make recommendations and ensure that our experience was enjoyable. But the real star of the show is the food! As a Nepali myself, I was blown away. The dishes are absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The flavors were unique and pays homage to quality Nepalese cuisine. I especially loved the momos and the tandoori chicken kebab. The menu has a good variety of options to choose from, so there is something for everyone. I highly recommend New Kathmandu Kitchen to anyone looking for delicious Nepalese cuisine and excellent service. I will definitely be returning in the future!

This was our first time here after passing. G numerous times. We ordered a bread basket, saag paneer, tikka masala and tandoori chicken and WOOOOOOOW. Incredible food. Everything was way beyond expectations. Will be back again soon.
The service was amazing such a kind server. The dishes were amazing although when I ordered medium spicy it could have been a bit hotter, but i understand they try and cater to the broader customer base. Super clean dining and restrooms will return.
This is our go-to place for Indian/Nepali food in Sacramento. It's the first place I've found that can do chicken chili momos (a favorite from when I lived in Nepal!) Their chicken tikka masala is stellar. We eat-in and get take-out often and the food comes out fast and reliably delicious. Highly recommend.
I placed a large takeout order with several entrées and appetizers. The main dishes were seasoned well, and the flavors were delicious. Butter, chicken, lamb, vindaloo, samosa chat were all excellent… the tandoori chicken was my least favorite. As was the naan. That being said, this restaurant ranks right up there with some of the best Indian food that I’ve enjoyed and I’d recommend a trip.
It’s a really nice place with terrific food and very good and fast service. I came back now for several times. And it’s always the same - great food and service! I liked especially the curries and garlic naan. Absolutely top class.

For the main dish, we ordered curries. We had butter chicken and chicken korma, and I liked them. They were good and tasty. If you’re like me and looking for non-spicy food at this restaurant, keep in mind that butter chicken is less spicy than korma. We ordered rasmalai for dessert, but I didn’t like it very much. The interior of the restaurant is very ordinary, so don’t expect anything fancy or upscale. That said, the food itself is good.
Food is pretty good. I have tried a couple of different dishes and liked them, especially the chicken korma and chicken saag. The spice level is not as high as other Indian restaurants, so mild level was not flavorful enough for me and went for medium next times. The ambiance is not the greatest, but ok. Service is a little bit slow and they charge an additional 2.6% service fee for paying with credit card, which is not great especially given that the dishes are a bit overpriced and portions are not too big.
It's always a good sign when you walk into a restaurant and the dining room is filled with the most scrumptious smelling aroma. The food matched the wonderful scents. A nice dining room mural was painted across our view. The food was delicious, flavorful, cooked fresh, and sizzling hot. The only thing that gave me pause was the portion size of the entrees. The service was great and very welcoming.

The food was pretty good, but it wasn’t anything memorable or special. When we entered, the restaurant was empty, and there was no music so we could very clearly hear people talking in the kitchen. The service was mostly good, but some what slow. Overall, a good restaurant with pretty tasty food, but not somewhere I would go again.

I waited for service for about 25 minutes while being completely ignored by the waiter. The restaurant was nearly empty, except for one couple who received constant attention. I mentioned to the waiter that I was in a hurry and ordered soup, hoping it would save time. He informed me it would take 5–8 minutes, but after waiting another 20 minutes, I had to leave and asked to cancel my order. Instead, the waiter packed the hot soup into plastic containers—thank you for the added BPA exposure—and charged an additional $4.00 for bread, which I neither ordered nor consume. I’m truly disappointed by this experience. I had expected at least basic courtesy and timely service, especially in an almost empty restaurant. I hope this feedback helps improve service
