The Trap Sacramento Reviews
I came in for Ozzy Osbourne Karaoke for my birthday and had some beers and everyone was charming and the owner was helpful. Next time ill try some take out. Thank you Mariah and your lovely staff.
About 12 years ago I was a Regular at this Dive Bar. Then it really was barely staying open. NOW New Owners! Place has been updated but still maintained that Dive Bar Atmosphere. In Addition They Added Some Fine Gastrointestinal Pub Delicasies! I was Floored by Chef Richard and his Smoked Wings! They will stand up to any Texas BBQ.He also added Pork Belly Burnt ends to the Menu! Great Selection of Beers, Wine and Cocktails. Also 2 pool tables. Indoor and outdoor seating!
The famous "Trap" beer and wine bar/saloon in the pocket neighborhood area. A long time fixture going back to the mid 1800's A friendly place where locals meet to play pool, play darts or just talk the day away in the bar or patio area. Karaoke on some nights, check their schedule. They also have a food truck permanently attached here. Offers fast food, but I understand the food menu will expand. For now, I love talking to Hector the bartender, and Mariah the owner while drinking some beer or wine and just relaxing after work. One of these days I'll try a sandwich or two.
Came to the Trap because my wife and I love history. Ended up meeting some really friendly people. Burger was juicy and fries were crispy. And to my pleasant surprise they had mixed two beers together and it tasted delicious. Ask the bartender when you get there. I dont want to spoil the surprise. Checl their instagram for their events.
Great dive bar. Standard amount of drinks on tap you'd expect. The place was clean, the bathrooms do smell horrible with that sorta old dive bar smell, but the smell is contained to them. The outdoor space out back was larger then we expected. Folks do smoke out back, so do what you will with that information. The staff were all very kind. They have their own food truck that's always there now too.

I went to this place for the first time, last night. I had a great time! The people were so nice! The cook is just a sweetheart! The bartenders are such nice ladies. Totally loved the ambience. It was more like a family gathering than a just a bar. I'll definitely be back! Thanks for an awesome night guys! 🥰😍🤩
This is such a fun little hidden gem. The staff are on point and attentive even when the bar gets really busy. The atmosphere is friendly with a great energy. The karaoke here is fun with an accepting and appreciative audience. I've definitely found one of my new favorite hangouts.
The trap is a classic neighborhood bar; service is fast and friendly, they have great beer and spirit options, and the food is very satisfying. The lumpia and chicken tenders especially were delicious, and Adam’s hot dog special transported us to a typical Chicago dog.l experience. We love this place and continue to come back - recommend stopping by this local watering hole.
It's a little crowded at times but I love the people and the staff everyone is very chill and easygoing great tunes as well and love the karaoke!
Excellent dive bar with delicious food. You get better service if you're a regular so go often!
This place is a hidden gem. One of the best dive bars in town, easily top 3. When my sister lived in South Land Park, we went here all the time. The new owner is fantastic.
The Trap is a true Sacramento gem- historic, laid-back, and full of character. Ice-cold drinks, friendly bartenders, and a no-frills dive bar vibe that makes you feel right at home. The outdoor area is a great spot to kick back, and the food truck is a solid bonus. If you haven't been, you're missing out. Can't beat a place with this much history and heart!
Great bar. Friendly customers and staff. I've been going to the trap for years and the new owner is great.
The food is THE BEST! RICHARD , the food man tasted me like family!! Love that place. I used to go in there back in the 1980's. It's still a GREAT dive!!
My girlfriend and I stopped by here per the suggestion of the nearby gas station clerk who happens to tend at the bar, Adam. We had a great time! Great Wednesday night deal, great patio, friendly patrons, couple of pool tables, some dart boards, and a kitchen (got there too late to 😩) We'll definitely be returning!
The vibes are chill and they have good beer , I came in on a karaoke night and it was very entertaining. I had a over all good time met some cool people and got to hear some surprisingly good locals singing definitely a fun atmosphere will be going back!
A historic landmark opened when Abraham Lincoln was President, real old school neighborhood bar. Imagine a time when nothing was here except farms and this bar. Beer and wine only. Inside, just as rustic as I remember it from years ago. Outside two nicely remodeled patios. The new owner has done an amazing job of creating a warm, lively and accepting space. Food truck on site most nights. The only code, if you are a hater, go somewhere else. Folks all get along here. And that's the way everyone likes it.

I've never been here, but did they call it the trap because you get trapped here? Because its so much fun??

Love this neighborhood bar! New owner and wonderful renovations. This place has a "Cheers" type atmosphere and has become my go to comfort hangout. The Trap is a wine and beer bar and I'm liking that more and more! They have added so many fun nightly events including trivia, karaoke and wine and paint night. Everyone wins here, as they support small businesses and entrepreneurs. The food trucks and bbq dinners are on point! Two lovely patios with ambient lighting and just an all around great vibe. They also have pool tables AND REAL dartboards I love the staff too! Everyone is so friendly and this place really feels like my second home🩷 so fun and cozy with a great crowd.
Came here with a friend for their Love Island watch party and it was both our first times here. This is a smallish dive bar off a kind busy road but don’t write it off as somewhere you can’t have a good night at. The inside bar area is kinda small but you can tell there’s regulars that have made this their go to. They have a karaoke touch tunes machine and a pool table. There’s tvs on the inside and outside, and the outdoor area is great! It’s very spacious and they have a covered portion. There’s also a picnic table in the front you could sit at too. We got the one of the drink specials and it was tasty, the fries we ordered came out hot and crispy. The energy was awesome with how many people showed up for the watch party and this would definitely be a cool place for a laid back night out. They have a pretty nice food menu, lots of beer and wine, soju, and you can tell they have fun events centering sports. Also apparently female owned! The only hitch for me was the parking mostly because it was so busy but I was able to park nearby. Definitely will want to come back!

Pretty rad little dive bar out in the Pocket area of Sacramento. Good beers, nice people, very relaxing atmosphere with a couple pool tables inside and a TV and darts out back. Will stop by again if I'm in the neighborhood.
Food was fantastic. Burger was exactly what you want from a smash burger. B.T.L.A was close to perfect. It could have used either thicker bacon or just a little more, but the flavor of the parmesan crusted sourdough and garlic aioli was amazing. It had classic dive bar vibes and very friendly bartender. The only real bummer was hearing about how amazing the trap sauce was and then getting told they were out of it. Highly reccomend!
