Much needed time with family we decided to come to Golden Corral for lunch. The steak was amazing and cooked Med. Rare just like I asked. Laura our server was prompt to greet us verify our drinks and confirm 4 at our table. Drinks, silverware and a friendly smile were back at our table before we were back with our food. Yes our food was good but this review is mainly about Laura. She has been a server for over 30 years at Golden Corral, and you can tell its because she loves her job and working with people! She is nice and polite, efficient, and on top of it. One of our family members literally drinks like a camel and not one time did her cup get below half empty before Laura was back with a fresh glass of water for her. Our whole experience with Laura was this way. Nothing but smiles (behind her mask) and polite conversation and anything we needed we had. Laura thank you for displaying excellent customer service and making us feel right at home! No doubt when we return we will ask to be seated in your section everytime!

My parents and brother love to come here. It had been a while since I came simply because the cost wasn’t matching the buffet menu. Tonight the whole family came all 20 of us. I called to let them know we were coming just to give a heads up. I believe her name was Sandra, she was courteous over the phone and when we arrived. We had Carlos as our server. Let me start off by saying this kid has hustle. He came ready to work. He handled our tables so well. He didn’t miss a beat! We really appreciate the hard work. Take care of your servers and they will take care of you. Oh and by the way the food was good. Mashed potatoes and gravy were good but the sweet potato casserole was delicious I could’ve at the whole pan alone! I want to shake whoever’s hand that made that dish! Thank you Golden Corral!!

Saturday early evening, the place was packed, but that didn't stop them from preparing high quality food. Every single buffet item I tried was absolutely phenomenal. I was so impressed with the steak that I asked for more twice, each time it was cooked to perfection and a great cut of meat. You definitely get a great value for your seat at this Golden Corral. Came today for the first time to a Golden Corral in about 12 years. Let me start off by saying ALL the workers there were amazing, super kind and attentive. The place is super clean and the food was legit. Props to all the worker on being awesome people and great workers. Will definitely be going back.

Stopped here while traveling. We often go to Golden Corral at home, but this one was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent.

Was meeting my husband for breakfast, as I pulled in my tire blew. Was waiting on my husband, the manager, I believe Daniel was his name, came out and offered to change my tire while we ate. Excellent customer service in my opinion. I haven't seen actions like that in a restaurant for a very long time.From the cashier to our server, service was awesome!!! Food was excellent, what a way to keep customers.

Let me give it to you straight......You eat until you feel sick or disgusted with yourself. Honestly though, that's kind of the point of these all you can eat buffets. When their food is so dang good that you can't help yourself to get to that point, it's all worth it. LOL. Truly , their food is quite delicious, and you come here to have a good time eating with people you want to be around with Very welcoming atmosphere, and their staff is friendly and their servers are tentative. Never been disappointed with a piece of steak either!

This is a long time coming since every visit has been a great one. The food is always great and for a buffet with as many options as they have verges on outstanding. It is, however, the service that makes it outstanding. I have eaten at GC in several locations from California to Florida and this one stands out in ways others have not. For instance, the staff seems to remain constant which is often a testament to how good the location is. Sonia being the best from my experience and if you have eaten here then odds are you knew this already. If you want more high praise, I have a daughter that is almost 8 years old and, between the salad bar and desserts, somehow eats more than I do. The best part about this being I always get a great value compared go the cost. I recommend this location to anyone that likes a variety of comfort food.

Never thought I’d ever leave a review for a Golden Corral, but this location made it such a perfect evening for me by absolutely knocking it out of the park. The waiting staff was attentive and kind. The cashier was very kind and informative. The kitchen staff was making sure everything was stocked and hot on the buffet lines. The counters and the rest of the restaurant were cleaned consistently and I never saw a drop of spilled food anywhere. I was very impressed by everything I tried. Money well spent! Very clean and fairly newly remodeled. We don't eat buffet often but do prefer it at breakfast. We met our son and grandkids for breakfast. There was a table to accommodate the 5 of us right away. There was a good selection and everything was hot and fresh. The omelet bar was fantastic. Enjoyed breakfast very much.

Food is good and fresh for 12:30 pm, but they didn't have everything they usually had. No tuna salad, no mushrooms , and no enchiladas.

This is our place when every other breakfast restaurant has long lines. The breakfast is really good and they have everything from pancakes , french toast, scrambled eggs with chorizo, scrambled eggs with potatoes, scrambled eggs by themselves, Menudo, tamales, brisket, ham, bacon, sausage really just all the American and some Mexican breakfast fixings. Service could be better but the place is clean and the price is just right.

In this "pandemic" I think this Golden Corral is about as good as it gets when it comes to being safe. The dining areas are so spaced out I actually felt like they were really trying to do for the guests and not the all mighty dollar. The service was good and the food was as good as it has ever been. They didn't sacrifice the taste.

Tried the Thanksgiving feast today. While it does not compare to a home cooked meal, it was amazing to go, eat, and enjoy time with family this year. It was an unusual year this year as my wife had surgery a few days before Thanksgiving, and we just could not coordinate all the festivities. I appreciate restaurants like Golden Coral who understand and work to cater to those families in unusual situations.

Good food but not worth the price unless you're a big eater. Also, I only eat white chicken and several times we were told they were no longer serving white meat. I hope that's not correct long term. Wait staff has always been very nice and helpful. Restaurant is clean.

You know, I never really expect a lot out of Golden Corral. I am old enough to remember when it was an actual steakhouse. Either way, the food was pretty good. It had a brunch vibe going on. The also had no problem immediately seating our party of 10. I'd go back if asked the next time I'm in San Angelo.

Grill guy gives out skimpy pieces of steak. Other than that, and limited food choices, not bad. Does not have the variety that most Golden Corrals have, or space. And you have to fill your own drinks from the register.

Went for Thanksgiving since I didn't feel like cooking for just my mom & I. They were busy, but we did not have a long wait. They had a great selection of traditional Thanksgiving Day dishes. Everything was fresh and they did a great job of keeping everything available. The server was attentive and provided assistance quickly when needed. There was no rush for tables to be turned over. It was a good price, cheaper than buying everything and the labor intense preparation!

When you’re hungry the place can be really good—-sometimes? We hadn’t eaten there in a good while and mostly I was shocked at their increased meal price. We are seniors and on a weekday a senior meal is 15.00 and if you care to have a glass of tea, then the tea will add 3 more bucks to your ticken

We took a large group of kids from our church, approximately 50, all under the age of 12. Staff was friendly and always smiling. Good balance of allowing us to eat and not interrupting conversations for refills and cleaning tables. Tables are spaced fairly well as to not disturb others when making a trip to the salad bar. Salad bar was clean, good variety to choose from. We were there during lunch so no steaks were available. However, the fish is amazing! Would most definitely recommend eating here. Lunch rush was not awfully busy, needless to say we were the rowdiest bunch in the building.

The environment is nice. They accommodate children well. They need to carry milk in addition to other juices. Could do better on food quality but we don't have many options on buffets out here . Will be back

Who doesn't like an all you can eat buffet. I had fried fish, salmon, and a chicken dish that I went back for seconds for. I also had chocolate covered strawberries, an icee, and a piece of chocolate cake. Nice wait staff, always a step ahead of clearing dishes, and refilling your drink.

It is self service, all-you-can-eat, with a wide selection. Come back if you got scared off by the "kids licking the open chocolate fountain" days. Sometimes self serve can be a little messy, but the staff is pretty on top of keeping it clean and comfortable. Food is 4 out of 5 for the most part with a few 2s (pizza) and some 5s. (Try the hot bread pudding with some ice cream.)

We love to go at the seniors 2 to 4 time for a better price. We like having all the choices. But occasionally would like a few different items.

This place was packed. The chairs are so close to each other ! I think as soon as my neighbor blew air out,I was breathing it in. No precautions taken by staff such as gloves or mask. Food sneeze guard useless as most people leaned down to look under it or get their food. Kids of course were at eye level with food laughing ,talking and one unsupervised child sneezed twice- into the food. I'm never going back.i can think of a million other ways to get botulism other than here.

Lunch and dinner is great. It always seems fresh and tastes really good. The salad is always fresh and crisp along with their fruit selection. Breakfast on the other hand could use a lot of improving. Scrambled eggs were burnt, bacon was greasy, French toast was hard and old and when there was a fresh one made it was undercooked in the center. I think the French toast could use a new recipe altogether. Same with the pancakes. The best thing they had was their fresh waffles and fruit. The service was good, attentive and really friendly. If I were to rate the breakfast alone I would give it 1 star.

Went for sunday breakfast. Had to go find a waitress to get our coffee cups filled. Only filled them halfway. Waited a few minutes before a different waitress came to fill them up the rest if the way. Our server had left to get her kids. When she came back she sat her children at the table next to us. Her friend was at the table in front of us. She stopped by their tables frequently to talk and look at her friends phone. She never once checked on us or even acknowledged us. Food was good, some a bit cool. Service was horrible.

Most of the food was tasty, good menudo, mash tatos great, steak was tender and savory, bread pudding, fried fish good, potato chowder not good. Place was crowded, most cooks didn't wear a mask, one of them serve a piece after he cut it with his hand onto customer plate. Need to keep up with cleanliness. Dessert not very big selection. Prices 13.99 per adult on Sunday. Plus drink. Table was half clean. Crumbs still on it. I would like to come back but cleanliness is a must for me.

The food is usually pretty decent. The sirloin steak is very good and at a good price. My only complaint is the dogs. I understand the need for service animals and respect that, however is is pretty nasty to have dogs right up to the buffet. Recently I had to go tell the manager about a dog that was licking all over the salad plates and the owner just standing there looking at the dog as it did so. And today I saw a service dog that had its paws right up on the counter of the buffet. We will be shying away from there for awhile.

It's been a couple of years since I had been. Not what it used to be. The food was ok but nothing spectacular. It will be awhile before I return again.

$75 + tip for 4 adults isn't outrageous for AYCE buffet, IF the food is good. In fairness, there were some pretty bad, & some pretty good but I feel like we all wasted quite a bit that ordinarily would have been eaten. Service was not that good, esp considering it was pretty empty. The upside to that is it was pleasantly quiet. I was happy to see the Weather channel on TV, as opposed to politics, etc.

My family and I love their food. Their employees are always great and professional. But they need to pay close attention to their restrooms. They're always dirty. Clean restrooms is a big must when you have families in your restaurant. This is why sometimes customers don't return.

Dirty atmosphere. Crowded tables. Waitress offered us another table after cleaning one. Nice waitress. Food was undercooked. Undercooked fried fish. Potatoes were not tender. Carrots and brocoli was not tender either. Some of the food was good though!

Fried fish had worms in it of course they where cooked and not alive but Jesus that was sick I’m not kidding here

Usually food is good. Today went at 6pm all the food was old and lukewarm. Even dessert was bad. Best piece of pecan pie had 2 small pecan pieces in it.

Extremely odd cleaning practices were observed here. First of all the guy running the bakery area was removing access dirty hot water from the heating trays onto the floor. I then witnessed a staff member help her self to some pudding lick her fingers as she got some on there and used the same finger and hand to grab the spoon for more pudding. Last I saw the cashier spraying glass cleaner around open food and then wiping the glass down. GC do better!

The front of house staff was great and the Kitchen staff kept the food coming! I didn't see a single item go understocked on the line. Food was overall good and the value for the area was very high. A few small details that lowered my review; A section of hot food on the buffet was not up to temp. There was one person who kept walking around on his phone and eating in the dessert prep area behind the counter and distracting the uniformed team member in that area. He was pulling dinner rolls out of his mouth and then handled the equipment with his hands. Just kind of hanging out and not in a uniform so I'm sure he was related to someone. The high cleaning and the stainless cleaning could use a little work (again the dessert area was the biggest offender here). My Waiter was very attentive but the cashier didn't greet me, ask me any questions, and overall was not engaging. Diningware was overall clean and presentable. Not a bad place to go but lacked overall wow factor to raise it above other local dining places.

Why do these commercials always make the food look so good? Second time ever at a golden corral and the food is just horrible....again. The salad bar was nice and fresh. Just wasn't hoping the salad bar would have been the highlight of my visit! Table service was great. We sat back in a corner and she still kept drinks filled and plates cleaned. Service behind the buffet was slow. I had a long wait to get a scoop of ice cream and some dishes were low and crusty for a while. I visited around 5, not sure if this is the reason for some of the service.

I hadn't eaten at golden corral in years and this visit reminded me why mediocre food at a high price plus enough MSG to hurt a digestive system.

Went on Mother's Day, and the special that day is you pay $2 extra! Yep, price gouged on a high traffic day. I guess they have the right to do that, but it seems pretty low to me. If you want to go for Mother's Day, celebrate on staturday and save yourself about 12%. Service was great, and food as normal for GC is OK but really upset for price increase without an explanation.

The food was just subpar, and the employees have gotten so rude. There is one server there who has been there forever, and she is fantastic, we sit in her section every time. But the lady behind the salad bar acted inconvenienced that she had to refill anything. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a buffet: children's hands in everything after they've snotted and wiped their hands-on their nose. I doubt that we will return. The restaurant and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. For the price you feel like they would make a better effort.

Probably the worst experience I have had here by far. We arrived and got our drinks and food and sat down. We had no service for the first 15 minutes we were here. The food was awful for me minus the Mac and cheese, which is simple. My table was literally having to get up and get their own refills while other employees watched us do so. I spent $18.00 for my meal and it was a complete waste of money and time.

Terrible experience. Tried a little if everything and nothing was good at all except maybe the soups. Definitely got some food poisoning and may have been from the steak that smelt like fish when handling the juices from meat. Never going back.

I hadn't been to GC in a few years. I went yesterday and got it to go. Well a few hours after eating, I was sick as a dog. I spent the rest of the night throwing up with severe stomach cramps until the wee hours of the morning. The only food I had consumed all day was from GC. Sadly, I won't return.

We went for breakfast today. The food was not good at all. The selection of breakfast items were awful. The food was not hot and didn’t have much taste. Worst Golden Corral I’ve been to. That usually means the manager isn’t taking care of business. The one good thing was, the staff was excellent.

Closed for breakfast on Father's day, wow management couldn't have "dropped" the ball any better if they tried. The salad bar was wilted and brown lettuce. The fried chicken was cold....there was only 2 pieces. And no fried shrimp! Seriously! Here you advertise shrimp and fried chicken. This store should close. And not very clean. Where's the health department. Didn't see no chocolate fountain

The atmosphere was nice but the dine in area was dirty. Tables were barely cleaned food still on the floor on the supposedly "Clean Tables" tried the brisket tasted like what you smell when your dog is wet. The only reason I'm giving a one star is because they're fried chicken that's sweet was delicious and so were the mash potatoes. But other then that I probably won't ever be going back to this golden corral.

It was 9 pm, and they didn't close until 10 pm. They were cleaning while we ate. We felt rushed, so I asked if we could just take our dessert to go so they could finish cleaning. He said yes but then charged us $20 more for the desserts we got. I won't go back. That's crappy!

Food was horrible and did not have good flavor, texture, tempature or look visibly appealing. Some were cold and not supposed to be and some where too hot to eat, sweet tea had went bad and when said something the lady at register was rood about it. Even the salad bar was nasty.. the ranch dressing did not tast anything like ranch and the cheese tasted and had a texture of wax!! This was no way worth 17.50 for one meal for just me. This was not even worth 10.00 The only positive was the waitress was amazing friendly and very helpful.

As someone who has eaten at Golden Corral in MANY places across the Souther US, this one in San Angelo is the WORST. I have now eaten here 4 times in hopes that it would get better. It is worse than ever. The food is absolutely horrible. It is old, dried out, and burned. The staff clearly do not care, and the prices are insane. I.e. I arrived around 3:30 and the meatloaf, normally a favorite of mine, was already old and dried out. By 4:15 when we got ready to leave, the SAME tray of nasty, dried out meatloaf was STILL on the counter. That is absolutely disgusting. As someone who has worked in food service, I understand the complexities of the job. This.. this is just a bad case of the people not giving a crap.
